It was my first time there, and my server Jamie was really friendly and helpful. He walked me through the menu, and I ended up going with à la carte so I could try a few things. The wagyu was delicious and cooked perfectly, and the cauliflower was amazing too. The Toyosu fish was really refreshing. I also thought it was really cool that they source fish from Japan every couple of days. That definitely shows the level of quality they're going for. I'll definitely be back, and next time I want to try the full course. The restaurant itself is beautiful overall. Only small thing for me was that it got a little smoky at times, and the wine tasted slightly old, although my server confirmed the bottle had been opened recently. It honestly may have just been the wine I chose. Still a great experience overall.

We spent around $700 for two people and it was one of the most disappointing dining experiences we've had -- not just in Tahoe, but anywhere near this price point. The food was wildly inconsistent. Several dishes were overly salty to the point where it completely overpowered everything else. Others were just forgettable (like the beet salad). For a tasting menu that's supposed to be carefully curated, it felt sloppy and poorly thought out. On top of that, the portions were tiny -- even by fine dining standards -- and we left still hungry, which is pretty unacceptable given what we paid. For example the fish was probably a 3-4 oz portion. Many of the dishes were the same size as the a la carte menu, but for the tasting were meant to be shared for 2 adults. That means you are paying 400 dollars for dishes that can be bought for 40 bucks on the menu. The exact same size.... What is going on.... Service was just as frustrating. It wasn't outright rude, but it was disorganized and careless in ways that really matter. We ordered an extra dish and no one bothered to tell us it was already included in the tasting menu -- so we ended up paying extra for something redundant. That's a basic failure and honestly felt borderline deceptive. Drink service was slow, and mis-timed. What really pushed it over the edge: my wife is pregnant, and instead of putting any real thought into substituting a raw fish/uni course, they gave her a duplicate of another dish already being served, and was a dish that we extra ordered. No creativity, no effort -- just the easiest possible workaround. For a restaurant trying to position itself as high-end, that's inexcusable. This place charges like a top-tier dining experience but delivers something far below that level. It feels like they're relying on hype and location rather than execution. Save your money. There are far better places in Tahoe (and beyond) that actually justify the price. Would not return.

I am a business woman so I show lots of patience especially when there was a new server definitely doing her best. We were seated off to a corner again no worries gave some privacy. Food delicious loved the ramen husband and I tried two different ones and we both very much enjoyed them. I loved the cucumber salad surprisingly my husband did too usually he doesn't like that sort of thing like vinegar cucumber etc but he definitely appreciated this one sweet and tangy. Tried two rolls Togo the mango one my husband was very hesitant due to past experience but family enjoyed including my husband. Husband and I both go Thai tea Boba and that was the best way to end the night. Definitely recommend, they also gave us complementary mochi ice cream and edamame due to the mix up and wait which we appreciated.

Clean and comfortable, with a lot of eclectic and funny signs throughout. Feels more like a quick meal spot than somewhere you'd stay a while. Service was good. Everyone was friendly and things ran smoothly. We had the tuna summer roll, fried gyoza, shoyu ramen, and tonkatsu ramen. The summer roll was fresh but pretty standard. The gyoza had a nice crisp, but the filling was just okay. The shoyu ramen was light but a little flat, and the tonkatsu ramen was richer but didn't really stand out. Prices felt a bit high for the quality, but that's pretty typical for Tahoe and tourist areas. Overall, it's a convenient option with good service.

[This review was written before a change of management and chef rumored early '26]…read more This bustling spot is an oasis in 25 miles of a food desert on the Nevada side of Tahoe. The management changes of past years has brought back pros who have lived and immersed in Japan and Korea, and bring a sparkling authenticity to a place that had sometimes lost its way past decade. Weekend nights can be well jammed with ethnic Asian tourist ski families and globally experienced friends that know the real thing. Fresh gorgeous sushi, (and some great teriyaki chicken and beef for those who aren't into fish). Cold Japanese beers... cucumber salad, Bibimbap, tempura... just awesome. Unlike most places in this region, the parking is free and expansive amidst the mini mall in a forest.

More Umami Needed!…read more SHORT Ver: Most selections lack flavor to true authentic originals. Service was friendly and adequate, hence my giving 2 I am Asian who has lived over 50 years in Hawaii and have eaten authentic Asian cuisine from around the Pacific and Asia so I'm qualified to make this statement! LONG Version: In heavily populated Asian communities,if we see a particular race eating at that races' restaurant, it's generally a signal that the food there is gonna be good! Makes sense, right? While visiting Tahoe today my family had a craving for sushi and based on the rating for Harumi Sushi (as of 6/26' is is 3.9 Stars) we decided to go for dinner. Walking in, we were met with friendly staff and Japanese chefs behind the sushi counter! (Good sign!) their menu is mostly Japanese with some Korean dishes. I was also pleasantly surprised that there were a lot of Asian families also seated but I wasn't sure if that was a good gauge as I suspected that these families were all probably like ours-visiting from outside of the area. I crossed my fingers. We ordered various sushi rolls, a Tonkotsu Ramen, Tempura Udon, Pork Tonkatsu, and a Dotsolbop. Kitchen help must've been short staffed because each dish came out singly with minutes in between the next single dish and by the time the last dish came out, the first few people had already been long finished. First: Tonkotsu Ramen soup broth was completely tasteless. I have packaged Tonkotsu Ramen from my Asian store in Vegas that has much more flavor and body that the one I had. The noodles were simply noodles, the egg was not ajitama. It was simply a half boiled egg. The rest of the dish was not appealing nor tasty at all. Even the charsiu tasted old if not just pan fried for presentation! I could not finish it. The Tempura with the udon was adequate for an AYCE Japanese style buffet so, 'mid' as my kids would say. The udon, I was told wasn't bad, I guess I should've order the Shoyu Ramen instead. The Tonkatsu also fared better in taste rating than my ramen. The Dot Sol Bop came after everyone was finished eating. It had chopped lettuce on it among a couple other non traditional looking veggies. There was very little meat in it. After adding the kochujang sauce and tasting, it was the strangest version of this dish I have ever tasted. The vinegar flavor coming from each bite was so overwhelming. We didn't know if it came from the rice mixture or from the kochujang sauce. Not even half of this dish was eaten. And this was with half the group sampling it. No one wanted to finish this dish. The sushi rolls looked like they were a little on the old side however all said the sushi was pretty good. Not amazing, but adequate. Mid range quality ingredients. My conclusion is that the quality of the ingredients is in need of some improvements. The sushi chefs are getting the job done with what they have. The cooked dishes, however, need to be reexamined If you truly know what Asian cuisine is because you've grown up with it and/or have experienced it, you will walk away disappointed especially if you order a non-sushi entree. The staff were nice though!
