I'm somebody who has dealt with chronic pain and insomnia & migraines from pain, for several years. I've tried steroid injections, nerve ablations, physical therapy, massage therapy, chiropractors. I've spent thousands of dollars over the years outside of doctor referrals. Within less than two weeks this studio and instructors have helped my pain so much and have been so kind. I look forward to waking up and going to class. My anxiety used to be so bad I wouldn't leave my apartment out of fear of being judged or losing my parking spot. Now I can't leave it fast enough and love getting to the studio early and chatting with students or staff. I wish I didn't have to move in two months bc I have loved all the ladies I've met. I used to tell myself studios like this are too expensive, I couldn't afford it. But when I stopped and compared what I'd spent on massages and chiropractors. Pilates has shown me what my arthritic 70+ body is still capable of. After one year I am so much stronger, more flexible and steady on my feet. The instructors are wonderful. They are very hands on and guide you through the exercises so you're doing them safely. They even inject a bit of humor to keep it light and fun. I really love everything about this studio. I am new to Pilates and I have found a great place to learn and grow! All the instructors are fabulous. I particularly love Brenda, Stephanie and Veronica! I came in for the free trial and had an amazing workout. It was my first time doing Pilates and I think it's something I can stick to. The instructor, Katherine, was amazing but she typically works at another location and was just covering for a different instructor. I'm a little hesitant about buying a 3 month membership just with all the reviews specifically on issues with canceling and getting charged late fees during unavoidable circumstances, but I could definitely do the drop in classes even if they are more expensive. read more

I like Pilates. I am a bit new to it. But, it is really good for my body. The girls at the front desk are very thorough and accommodating. I've taken some grout classes and some privates. I'm very pleased and I think I am making small improvements. I've actually only learned from Stephanie but they have been good sessions. Such rude front desk workers, bought socks and drove here just for them to say I can't take the class because my permanent address is in Ventura and I should "join a club in Ventura" because they "don't have enough space in the class if I'm not going to join this location". The only pros about Club Pilates is that I enjoyed most of the classes and the place is clean. Now let me go into the negatives: Unless you are a person that has a VERY flexible schedule, this isn't the place for you. They have a 15 hour cancellation fee, so if you get sick, or your child gets sick, or something comes up with your child, or your husband gets home late and you can't make your class, or you have to work late and can't make the class.. you'll be charged $15. A lot can happen within a 15 hour period and to try and get out of the $15 cancellation fee is very hard. If you're sick.. you better get a doctors note because that's the only way they won't charge you. So you either have to pay a co-pay at the doctors... or pay the cancellation fee. Another reason you have to have a very flexible schedule when signing up for Club Pilates is because they only offer a certain number of different leveled classes throughout the day and unless you book a month in advance, they are all usually booked up. The club cancellation policy is another problem, in my opinion. When I signed up for this studio, there was no mention of a 30 day notice cancellation policy. The staff said it was in the contract, which I believe, but I think it's incredibly rude that there was no verbal mention of this to me when signing up. If there was, I would've 100% canceled in time because I was sick and tired of this studio continually taking money from me every way they could. I tried to cancel my membership 27 days before my next billing cycle and they wouldn't let me. I was three days shy of the 30 day notice. There goes another $180.... I honestly believe all this studio cares about is taking money from you and they don't care about their members.... Do yourself a favor and head next-door to 9Rounds. It's a better work out, the trainers and staff are incredible, there's no cancellation fee, you'll always be able to get into a class and they let you cancel your membership any time before your next billing cycle. read more

I've been going to Club Pilates for the past couple of months in Sherman Oaks (love it), and just attended my first class at their sister studio in Camarillo. It was fantastic. Stephanie gave clear directions throughout, modifying each exercise to accommodate participants' injuries, explained proper positioning, etc. What I really appreciated was that she incorporated stretching throughout the class (beginning, middle, end) which allowed you to really maximize the exercises without any stiffness. I'm a big fan of Club Pilates Camarillo & Sherman Oaks. Both studios are top notch. If you are considering trying pilates but are a little intimidated, don't be. The folks at this studio really do their utmost to make everyone feel welcome and I've only met nice and supportive people at their studios. read more

I've been taking 2 to 3 classes a week for the past several months, and it has changed my life. I went from having a lot of achiness and inflexibility, as well as feeling like I literally could not feel my abs after two kids (one is still a baby). Reformer Pilates has challenged me in ways that have made me feel better and stronger and I don't have aches anymore. I'm also more relaxed and less tense in my shoulders and hips from the stretches and strengthening. I'm able to bend down low with no difficulty. I know that sounds ridiculous but I literally felt like I could hardly crouch down and then get back up before I started Club Pilates. The instructors are some of the most wonderful instructors ever. Some of the best are Veronica & Lisa (although they're all great!). They keep it fun and exciting by mixing things up, teaching new moves, introducing different variations and never letting class get stale, as well as challenging me, but not so much that it's impossible. I went from inability to hold a plank for longer than two seconds to planking several times with the most difficult variations for the maximum time, I could barely get through doing the hundred at the beginning and couldve get to the foot bar during pand now I can do them with no problem while doing the challenge and graduations. My favorite part of all is that I have dropped a few dress sizes and my abs are coming back (my abdomen gets former and flatter every day). It's really helped me in more ways than one. I'm starting to see the old me come back again after two babies that I had within 2 1/2 years. :-) read more

I joined Club Pilates about a month ago and I love it. Not one for exercise classes, I've been struggling for a few years trying to get motivated and work out with weights. This hasn't gone very well. My sister kept inviting me to Club Pilates but I wanted to get in shape first so I wouldn't embarrass myself (I know, ridiculous excuse). Finally decided to jump in one day and take the free introductory class and I was all in. The studio is set up with 12 stations so you have your individual space with all the equipment needed for the class in your station. With this set up I can concentrate on my workout and not worry about bumping into anyone while I go left and everyone else goes right. The instructors are great and with only 12 in the class they can see if we aren't doing the move correctly and help us out on an individual basis. Their verbal instructions are so good that I can usually keep up fairly easily. There are also modifications to the moves if needed due to an injury or capability. I'm so happy I finally jumped in, I'm now going to at least four classes a week and my muscle tone is much better. The cost is more expensive than other gyms but I'm actually going and getting results. My husband spends money playing golf, this is my golf only not as frustrating. read more

I'm from out of town and was super excited to find a CP in Camarillo. I eagerly signed up for class the following day. Unfortunately I was sadly disappointed with the expirience I've had. The staff although friendly didnt excute a well rounded workout, moving rapidly from one thing to another providing very minimal assistance with posture correction or alternatives. The staff should work on guiding and assisting each member to excute each workout with the proper adaptations as needed. Slow down. read more

I took a late class today with Annette. I am absolutely amazed at how this lady conducted such a hard class, in such a manner, that we all felt like gymnasts. She really knows how to teach Pilates and how to relate to people. She was so warm and so beautiful and sweet and professional, that from now on, I'll go out of my way, to take her classes at night. Club Pilates opened in Camarillo in February 2017. There are a variety of classes at different levels. There are twelve spots so even with a large group you get attention from the instructor. Whether a beginner or experienced in pilates, you find this a great choice. I attend classes three to five times a week. I enjoy Robin's classes as she is very focused on breathing and technique. I enjoy Nanette's classes as she is flexible based on attendees and is a good soul who makes class entertaining. Those are the two instructors whom I am most familiar but there are others I have attended and each class is always a good workout. I look forward to my sessions and am happy to be able to be a part of this club. read more

I absolutely love this place. Everyone is kind and friendly which I appreciate. The positive vibe flows into me while working out and I'm left with that "Runner's High". Something I never experienced at any other fitness club. They have a great variety of classes so I get the same value as cross training. This I didn't know you got from Pilates but Yay! I did see other reviews from when they opened, but I never experienced anything like what had been said. I have always been greeted warmly and with a smile. Been doing Pilates here for 1 1/2 years now. I was very feeble after my bought with Cancer and became concerned about my health. I exercised very little before my Cancer. Took the intro class and something clicked. After about two months, several people who had not seen me for a while said "What are you doing? You look great!", though I had not noticed much yet. I now feel very solid and strong. My wife calls me "buff". I push myself a bit on the workouts but feel the results. I have become a bit addicted to this. The classes are a maximum of 12, and the instructors are really good at keeping you doing the exercises in form (this is very important in Pilates). Each instructor has their own style and this results in getting a well rounded set of workouts. read more

I joined July 2019 and from the beginning have loved it!!! It is challenging and different every time. I can definitely tell how my body and strength have changed. Initially I thought after a handful of classes I'd progress but quickly found my 52 year old body needed more time in foundations and that was OK! After a few months I started 1.5 levels and they are great too. You work hard and feel strong and sweaty every time. (I think I sweat more than most. Good for my skin.) now 7 months in I bounce between the level 1 and 1.5 based on timing because they give progressions you can do to dial up the intensity if you like. (I share that for those who felt like there were NOT enough classes at there level available - to paraphrase the airline safety message. The closest ...may be behind you.) I have found this allows me to fit enough classes in. Dec and January were tough for me with travel, the holidays and the flu, but I'm coming back strong In February. I've also found a few instructors I particularly enjoy. Annette is great and coaching each participant- today I lacked confidence and was afraid to fall. She knew I was strong enough to handle the movement. Encouraged me and I did it! Lila is like that too. She is busily running around making little adjustments and corrections throughout the class and offering up encouragement. Last Saturday she said she was pushing us all to be ready for level 2. I love that!!! No complacency here. Sunday's are another favorite of mine. Elizabeth is small and MIGHTY. She knows her stuff and like the other two ladies is pushing us all to be strong, flexible and ready to move up. She has a handle on the class and keeps it moving along. I tend to agree with the strict 12 hour window for cancelling especially when I have an unlimited membership but I can see the waitlist issue. That said I have to watch the charges closely as I'm certain I was charged incorrectly but I know enough to pay attention. So glad I dared myself to try out the free intro class. read more

I loved the classes, however I fracture my back and they were not willing to work with me , i had to pay for 2 months that I will not be using, the store manager said the only thing they can do is freeze my account and pay $15 for 2 months which it doesn't make any sense because I am not sure when my back will be fully recover. So I guess I won't be coming back. Hope no one gets hurt or a family emergency occurs because they do not care . read more
