The workout itself was solid, and I still got a good sweat in. However, my girlfriend and I didn't feel as welcomed as we've experienced in other yoga classes. My girlfriend especially felt somewhat uncomfortable during the class, and the overall vibe just felt off to us. For me, there's a difference between simply guiding people through exercises and creating an environment where students feel genuinely welcomed and supported. I didn't feel the same energy, encouragement, and warmth that I've experienced from other instructors. I also think the class structure could be improved. We stayed on one side for several exercises before switching, which made the flow feel a bit unbalanced. I was also surprised that the class wasn't warm, as I had expected more heat from a Yoga Sculpt class. The music and instruction style weren't really my preference either. Overall, it was still a good workout, but the atmosphere and class flow kept it from being a great experience for us. read more

I was a member here for almost four years and really enjoyed it, though over time many of my favorite instructors left and there was a lot of turnover. I canceled my membership because I wasn't attending enough classes to make it worth it. A year later, I rejoined with a 4 classes per month plan through my insurance, which fit my schedule and saved some money. Unfortunately, I didn't feel a warm welcome from the front desk staff who remembered me, interactions felt cold. There was a misunderstanding when I canceled a class, I was told initially when I joined through my insurance that if I canceled within 8 hours I'd lose a credit, but I was charged for a cancellation fee too. While I understand the studio's cancellation policy, I don't appreciate being told one thing and then charged anyway. When I reached out, the response was hostile: "We'll make a one-time exception." Combined with cold interactions at the front desk, it made me feel unwelcome, as if using my insurance membership was frowned upon. I ultimately didn't feel comfortable continuing at this location. Even 8+ months later, the experience still sticks with me. I wouldn't give up on YogaSix as a whole, but didn't have the best experience with this staff at this location. read more

Oh, how I love hot yoga! I used to practice regularly in Little Italy when I lived there, and since moving to Carlsbad about eight months ago, I've been attending this studio. I really enjoy many of the instructors, but a few classes feel more like boot camp than yoga. I overheard one instructor mention that the room reached 65% humidity, and in another class she joked afterwards that people were 'dropping like flies.' It's tough to stay committed when the heat feels so overwhelming that breathing becomes difficult. When I see certain instructors on the schedule I lose motivation to go. I really want to keep practicing here because I love so much about this studio, but when the heat and humidity get that intense, it makes it hard to go consistently and fully enjoy the experience. I'm sharing this only because I care and I know how wonderful this place can be. I would love to continue being part of this community and hope there might be a way to keep temperatures at a safe, supportive level, so everyone can feel comfortable and confident in class. read more

I went to YogaSix for a 430 class and showed up on time at 4:30 and the lady at the front desk did not let me into the class stating that had already started even though I was exactly on time. To the response from business owner: You never gave me free yoga and ran through my insurance, you have me confused with someone else. So strange you would post something untrue in your response. I arrived literally on the hour, some yoga energy and grace for people would go a long way. But if a corporate like energy studio is what your going for, you got that nailed. Also appears other people have complained about the same thing. Time to actually talk to your customers again because I guarantee you are missing the mark here. Also the way the woman (business owner) said to me, "I don't allow people in" indicated it was her choice, not the students. I suggest you continue to survey your clients. I must have attended a lot of classes with subs but again just suggested you do a better job giving feedback to teachers and attending their classes. I stand by my review and suggest people try Peace Love Yoga who actually practice the act of yoga im their business. read more

If you're into sweating the most in your life, hot yoga is where it's at. I always come out of this place absolutely drenched with my skin glowing. Clean studio, with a nice water bottle fill up station. It's a bit on the smaller side compared to other locations, but I like that because it feels hotter and I want alllll the heat. I really wanted to love YogaSix. They have locations throughout the country, perfect for my work travel. And I do love the people there. All the instructors and staff were incredibly kind. I would still recommend anyone to check them out, because it might be a good fit for you. Unfortunately, it wasn't for me. I prefer unheated yoga, which they have most days. But the majority of classes are heated, and the mix of heated to unheated options depends on the location's clientele. They had way more unheated than other locations I looked into (Carmel Valley) in the past, but still not enough to fill out my desired yoga routine. I prefer a specific type of instruction, one that incorporates breath-posture-cue (e.g. inhale, tree pose, place the sole of your foot onto your opposite thigh). Most yoga teachers do some combination of this, but the teachers at Y6 frequently leave out the posture, leaving me to wait for their cue/description of the pose before I know where I'm going. Maybe it doesn't matter if you are a true beginner with no familiarity with the poses, but once you have a regular practice, waiting for a whole sentence to figure out the pose causes longer gaps in the flow. Which brings me to my final preference divergence. I prefer a more vigorous vinyasa flow, and the pace here is definitely slow flow. The actual slow flow and the vinyasa flow classes are not that different in pace. I'm in horrible post pandemic shape, and this wasn't challenging for me at all. Except the heated classes, which always challenges my mental will to continue living (slight exaggeration...). Again, Y6 doesn't fit my preferences, but I do think it's still a good studio and worthy of trying it out for yourself! read more

I've been trying to incorporate more hot yoga into my practice. Working full time far from home makes it difficult but I've managed to attend the class Saturdays mornings several times. I have to admit I used to dread going to hot yoga but I've recently started looking forward to it. It is not for everyone but it has grown on me. The front desk is always happy and helpful when I check in. The other clients also seem very friendly and welcoming..... It can be intimidating coming to a new studio. I really enjoy the themes prepared by the instructor and the playlist always follows the theme. The instructor, Carolyn, obviously puts a lot of time into her routines and they are never the same. She has a lot of great energy and I am always impressed how she does the majority of the class with us. A lot of instructors walk around the room, which makes it hard for me sometimes, if I can't see what I'm supposed to be doing. (I am not good at listening, ha!!) The studio is very clean, well organized, great audio for the music and the ambient lighting makes it a real treat. The locker room is a tad small but there are only two rooms in the studio, so I don't think it would get too crowded. One of the little touches I absolutely love is the cold towel in the lobby at the end. That is such a nice reward after a challenging class. Great work YogaSix team! Keep up the good work! read more
