    Studio- 12 reformers!
    Cecile R.

The rating is for the Instructor. The free 30-minute intro class by Instructor Christine was enough for me to sign up for another. I checked the schedule and majority classes are WailList only a week out. I placed myself on the WL and know you must be paid in advance to be on the list. You are emailed the morning of the class day, informing you are in the class. This particular class on Saturday was Christine, she taught the intro. As this was my second class, I informed her. Most of the time during the class she stayed at the front and did not come around to check that I was performing the Reformer correctly. I even gave her eye contact with a puzzled look and unfortunately she doesn't understand body language- I looked around at others to see how to perform an exercise. I could have hurt myself if I wasn't careful - it leads me to believe this Studio lacks in the safety of their customers and yes I signed a waiver. I counted she walked around 4 times during the course of the 50-minute session. Yes I received a "meh" workout and I've heard there are challenging and engaged instructors at the Daly City studio. The Front Desk staff are friendly. The Studio is clean.

The new Club Pilates in Daly City has finally opened. I signed up as a founding member about 3 months ago. Today, I attended their intro class for the club's soft opening. This was my very first pilates lesson and thankfully, the instructor was very attentive, so I felt as ease. I am very impressed with the cleanliness of the club. All of the staff there are super warm and welcoming. The retail store has some great product offering, so I bought three pairs of very cute grip socks there. I am so excited to be attending their future classes. A few notes worth mentioning 1. Their sign is not really in place yet as you drive into the mall, so it can be hard to find, It's exactly between Target front entrance and MOD pizza 2. They are not ready to accept cash or Apple Pay etc so bring credit or debit card if you plan on making any purchase 3. The class schedule filled up pretty quickly so commit yourself and sign up for the classes you would like to attend early.

Class schedule to support my complaint
    Francisco N.

I signed up for classes on May 31; since my wife started taking some classes. I went for complimentary class and I like the dynamic, so I signed up for a once a week membership with a three months commitment. What they failed to tell Len before signing up is that any class I was interested I will be place on a wait list. At first I didn't see this as a problem, but my schedule only allowed me to attend classes Friday afternoon and weekends. Every time I tried to sign up there was a huge wait list and I could not get any class. I emailed management to complaint about this scam and I asked if I could transfer my credits to my wife, who has more flexibility with her schedule than (8 of them)at this point. The name of the person I spoke was Alek and he/she rejected my request regardless of the proof I was presenting. They had sold me a membership for services they couldn't delivered. They were not honest at front and that is a bad business practice. I am attaching some of the wait list for this business. The only thing this person offer me was an extension to use my credits past the expiration date. He gave me til the end of October. This didn't help because all the classes I was interested and could attend were taken; including weekends. What I heard was that this company signed up more members than that they can handle. They only open half day Sundays. I felt ripped off. I spent $129x 3 and I had only used one classed. I decided to booked classes that I knew I couldn't attend, so these thieves didn't keep my 12 credits. DO NOT sign up for any membership with this club. You will regret it. Both my wife and I cancelled our membership and I am Very angry to know that buainess like this still exist. I will file a complaint with BBB in San Mateo County so they don't continue stealing money from members like me and many others In all fairness the staff who work at the club are very nice and amiable

The club manager is a joke, unhelpful and rude. The worse customer service skills ever. There are better clubs around than this.

They provide quality yoga mats, blocks, blankets and bolsters so you can focus on your flow if you're new and don't have equipment. I've been attending classes here for a few months now and have found an instructor for every mood. Stephenie's evening classes are perfect when I want a slow, meditative flow. She gently guides us through poses and holds each one long enough for my body to fully sink in. I always leave her class feeling loose and limber. Joann's morning Hatha class is great for de-stressing. The sequences are simple but rejuvenating. We move through meditations and breathing exercises at a leisurely pace. When I want more of a challenge, I go to Josh or Tiffany's Vinyasa classes. They seamlessly flow us through faster-paced flows focused on breath and building up to more advanced arm balances or backbends. Both are so encouraging and help modify poses for all skill levels. I come out of their classes energized and empowered. Overall it's a gem for anyone looking to establish or deepen their yoga practice. I feel lucky to have discovered this oasis in my neighborhood!

The studio recently closed for about 10 days to replace the floor mats. While they were closed, I went to another studio in a nearby city to do Inferno Hot Pilates. It had a much larger space. I thought it was kind of neat, but I noticed that almost everyone did not speak to the person near them. During the class no one made any noises. There was no "hooting and hollering." Even when the instructor asked how everyone was doing, no one said anything. The classes were ok at first, but by the 3rd class it became boring. There are a lot of regular yogis at Sangha. We are friendly and we talk to each other and to the new people if they want to talk. If you're new, you're encouraged to go at your own pace. You rest when you need to rest. We also "hoot & holler." There's a lot of energy in the class that makes it fun. We get energy from each other & the good music. The more yogis there are the more fun it becomes. It doesn't matter if you're what type of body shape you have. No one cares. The regular yogis also come in all shapes & sizes. We're all just trying to be healthy & have fun. The studio is clean. The instructors are always cleaning the floor mats & mirrors. There's no weird odors. You will not be lying in someone else's puddle of sweat. The owners/instructors are super friendly. This studio is very welcoming.

Last year we did a…read moresound bath but this year we wanted something a little more active but still relaxing so I found Jennifer/Flow & Glow Yoga. She was AWESOME, FUN, and ENERGETIC and that accurately describes our experience. We had an AMAZING time. I had estimated 25-40 people, ranging from 20s - 60s, and all different levels (beginner to more advanced). After initial discussions, we settled on a beginner-friendly yoga with guided stretching and mindful movements. Her instructions were easy to follow especially because she gave us landmarks so we knew which way to face. She was provided mats and blocks for most of us. It was extra but very worth it since not everyone had their own yoga mats/blocks and most of us had traveled to get there. She and her partner set everything up beautifully and broke everything down so quickly. I was worried that it would be hard to hear her because we were a big group and outside, but she had a speaker system, hands-free mic and music! It was all VERY professional and spa-like with the aromatherapy and relaxing atmosphere. She corrected when needed, helped us in our stretches and poses, and provided a light touch massage. When I had mentioned that we were a competitive group (a weekend of pickleball, kickball, and other sports/games) and observed us during the session, she pivoted and made the session a little "spicier." It was challenging but in a good way. We were sweatin' and feeling the burn, for sure! We all had such a great time and were talking about it for weeks. Also, she had the forethought to ask her partner to take photos of us and shared them with us so now we have those fantastic memories documented for posterity. She was easy to work with, knew her stuff, and created such a wonderful ambience. I can't wait to do it all again next year!

When my son was born, I had a lot of issues with breastfeeding, including sore/cracked nipples, low milk supply (such that we had to supplement with formula), etc etc. We didn't find the nurses at Kaiser to be all that helpful and some of them even tried to tell us that "this is just how it is at the beginning." So I really thought that I just needed to buck up and power through the pain or stop breastfeeding altogether. I remember talking to my doula about this and on her recommendation, we decided to check out the group lactation clinic that Farrell Topham and Katie Howser offered at Community Well on Tuesday mornings before giving up on nursing. These two ladies changed our lives!! My son and I (and even my husband) literally became regulars at their clinic for our first few weeks postpartum. Farrell and Katie helped me troubleshoot every breastfeeding issue I had and they were able to solve every single one of them. They taught me alternate nursing positions for different situations, how to use a pump properly (that was apparently the cause of my bruised nipple and not my son!), etc etc. I'm SO proud to say that all thanks to them, my son and I are now a happy breastfeeding pair!! And even now, I still go back to the clinic every once in a while when I run into a question, such as when my son decided to stage a "bottle boycott" a few weeks ago and when I needed their advice on how to prepare for going back to work. Or when I just need a sanity check about how many ounces my son is actually drinking during a nursing session or whether he's still gaining weight, because they always have their high-resolution scale with them at the clinic. In addition to breastfeeding help, Farrell and Katie also taught us a bunch more stuff about being new parents. Farrell showed us how to use a Moby, a ring sling, and an Ergo properly and now, we LOVE wearing our baby! They also gave us lots of advice about our upcoming international trip with our three-month-old (eeek!). Thank you Farrell and Katie!!! And thank you Community Well for offering such great programs in the heart of Excelsior!!
