I had the most beautiful experience in Sara's yoga class. From the moment you walk in, she creates such a warm, welcoming, and calming atmosphere. Her energy is genuine, grounding, and so positive. This was my first time ever taking a yoga class, post pandemic, and the people that run this particular location were very sweet and relaxing! Everybody seem to be in their own Zen, humble moments! For my personality, I felt like I was hyper or something because they spoke so eloquently and calmly. The class was rather full at 9:30 AM, but the yoga teacher moved her mat off to the side so she could walk in between everybody and help pose the different people in the class. A very sweet Asian lady with a beautiful French accent! Since the holidays were coming up, she said she was traveling for a wedding and it was really cute and sweet that she shared the extra information. She gave great instruction on how to hold Yoga blocks and work different muscles. Even though this was a beginner class , I felt like I learned some new things since I've been doing yoga for about 13 years now. I would love to take another class here again! There's also an amazing little coffee shop down the way they have organic coffee with pink tables out in front! You should definitely check out that coffee shop! read more

I loved this yoga studio, I came here almost every week when I lived in Ingleside. It was so convenient. Hot Yoga classes always gave me a good workout. Kyra was my favorite instructor but I noticed that she stopped teaching at the studio. Started taking classes with Moonsun, LOVE HER CLASS. She always brings a warm and friendly energy. It was a great way to start my Saturday morning. Unfortunately, since I'll be moving, I don't think I will be coming to this studio anymore. Its a bit hard to find parking near the studio. We've been coming to Yoga Flow SF weekly for over two years now, and we absolutely love this studio. The space has beautiful high ceilings, the front desk staff are always kind, and the heaters make the hot classes the perfect temperature. The teachers have all been phenomenal, and the overall energy of the studio is welcoming and consistent. We currently go to Ava's 6:30pm Tuesday/Thursday class, and she's incredible. Her flow gets your heart rate up, makes you sweat, and always leaves your body feeling great afterward. It's the perfect balance of challenge, movement, and clarity. Linda's 5pm class just before is also an amazing class. It's labeled as a Vinyasa Flow- Heated, and it's definitely not a beginner class. Her flow is fast-paced, her sequencing is thoughtful, and she's an extremely talented teacher with great energy and precision. Overall, Yoga Flow SF is one of the best studios we've ever practiced at- amazing instructors, great environment, and classes that keep us coming back every week. Highly recommend. read more

My first impression of this studio was that it's a very warm and welcoming space. I've walked into some yoga studios where the hosts act annoyed that you're bothering them to check you in, but not this place. I was greeted so warmly upon entering, which significantly influenced my overall positive experience. The workout itself was great. The room was really spacious, but it filled up. Such a wonderful yoga studio! I took many classes as a beginner years ago, took a break during the pandemic, and now I'm getting back into practice. They have such a vast offering and the space feels very welcoming to people of all levels. Despite what is probably a high volume of clientele, I haven't attended a class that feels cramped. I've been enjoying Brad's heated classes on Sundays - they are a perfect reset and I appreciate the various modifications he provides for different levels of practice. My newest yoga studio and it's absolutely fantastic. After having fallen off the bandwagon for a while following the birth of my second child, I have been eagerly looking forward to getting back into my practice. I've tried classes at other studios and fitness centers and none of them clicked the same way Yoga Flow did for me. All the classes I've attended so far are heated, which I actually really like. It really helps me to get the deep stretch into my muscles and I work up a decent amount of sweat which actually makes me feel like I'm getting a workout in and I leave feeling super refreshed and detoxed. The classes cater to practitioners of all levels so you have the option to try intermediate-advanced poses if you want, or you will also have the option to try moderations if you're at more of a beginner's level. The studio is large but set up very well with the speakers and infrared heaters with a stage at the front of the room that the instructor can use to demonstrate the poses. Even though there is a lot of natural light that comes in, all the windows are equipped with automatic blinds that the instructor can have come down at the end of class to create a darker, relaxing atmosphere for your final resting pose. Overall, Yoga Flow is a fantastic studio for any practitioner and I would highly recommend checking it out. read more

This morning I had an incredible class (yoga for beginners) with Sharon. Her cues were excellent, the way she described each move helped me visualize how to position my body for each pose and her playlist was entrancing! I appreciate that she broke down to basics and created a strong foundation for understanding each move and its purpose and I also liked her flow. Just as you felt you couldn't hold a pose anymore, she moved onto the next. Sharon was also excellent about providing feedback, corrections and offering modifications for all levels. This was our second beginner class with Moonsun who is warm, kind, knowledgeable, and focused on getting the most out of each pose with good form and grounding. I really enjoy how she explains each pose, what to feel when you do the pose correctly, and demonstrates the difference between engaging certain muscles and not engaging them. Her method also builds on previous skills so my husband and I are excited to start our yoga journey this spring with her Saturday morning classes. She also will gladly answer any questions after class and really takes the time to check in with her students. We are so happy to have found Moonsun's classes. read more

Rebecca Rogers... goddess! I've taken yoga classes for 30+ years and have taught classes and teacher trainings for 20+. Rebecca is a gem. She is incredibly knowledgeable about yoga philosophy and about the body. Her classes are flow-based and allow you to dive into a moving meditation. She begins her classes playing the harmonium and with breath work. I sweat my bootie off every time and am grateful for sustained stretches at the end. In savasana Rebecca again plays the harmonium and will often sing. Her voice is so beautiful and I consistently melt into deep relaxation. Honestly, her classes are transformative experiences. I could not recommend her more highly. read more

I've been joining the 6am M-W-F classes here for the past two weeks and am hooked. I originally bought the Groupon 10 classes for a bargain that made each class about $6 a class. I will be buying a full price package now. I can't speak for all the classes but the instructors for the 6am classes are perfect for beginners to advanced. I was in San Francisco recently and dropped in to Yoga Flow SF - Ocean to see about trying out some classes while I was there. I met Heather on reception and she was just delightful - so warm and kind and friendly. Heather invited me to try out a class. I chose one that she was teaching and I really enjoyed it. The main studio is large and roomy, clean and airy. The atmosphere at this yoga studio is very calm and peaceful and "come as you are." I just loved it and wish that I could have spent more time there. I will be back if I am in San Francisco again. A big, fat thank you to Heather for being so genuinely welcoming. read more

I tried a new yoga place, and I love it! (ClassPass friendly) They offer heated (85-90 degrees) and non heated classes, so there's something for everyone. I tried the non heated class first, a few days ago, and loved how I felt after. I guess I couldn't keep away, because today I tried the heated all level class, and found it to be just as good. The teachers are great, and the environment is large, open, and friendly. They will adjust you as needed. Amenities: There are plenty of cubbies to put your stuff in, and mats are available for rent. There's childcare, bathrooms, and a water fountain to refill your water. Overall I am glad I discovered this yoga studio. I'm definitely going to come back. read more

This review is mostly for the weekend morning classes which are mostly taught by Lauren Pisano, Neil Wadhawan and Robyn Engel. I chose this studio because it is one of the few in the city that offers childcare that is relatively reasonable. So this is a 2 part review - one for the teachers and one for the childcare part. Teachers/class/vibe: All teachers of course have different vibes. All of them teach vinyasa to a certain extent but I notice that Lauren tends to be quite emotionally spiritual (which I think is a good thing) and quite personal in her teaching. She usually has an assistant with her to make adjustments as they go throughout the class - and these classes are fairly large (50 ish people I would guess?) she's the right amount of challenging as well as spiritual. Neil definitely has a more dynamic and intense flow - he tends to play what's like a bongo drum? (Ok I butchered that- he plays a drum that's all I know) and his flows are intense and fast. If I were a beginner I probably might feel a bit lost in this class. Robyn tends to be slower paced and more gentle. Definitely more adjusted to people who are starting off. Pros: - really dynamic teachers and interesting flows - it always changes and I don't get bored. - The heated room isn't so hot that I can't tolerate it. I've been to other heated yoga places and felt like I was light headed - ughh not a good thing! - pretty clean studio no issues with cleanliness from what I observe Cons: The classes are so large that instructions never ask about injuries. I've been going here on and off for a year and never once have I had an instructor ask the class about how they are doing. They run the classes here more like large yoga workshops but I imagine that's because of the sheer volume of people who come here. Childcare: - depending on how many kids register you can upwards of 1-3 staff members watching kids. - once you check in, your kid takes off their shoes and you grab a number, write your kids details on the whiteboard and at least try to find the child care person who is there - room is spacious, well organized for the most part and it appears to be clean. My son always leaves in a pretty stellar mood and always looks forward to going. - I'm satisfied with the care my son gets - I usually don't worry how he's doing. Cons: - on the weekends it's such a cluster because tons of parents are filtering in, on their knees trying to get their kids to put on shoes/clothes/etc while others are taking their kids out - I honestly wouldn't be surprised if a kid slips away with the chaos but it seems to not happen. And it's not always the case that you can check in with the child care provider about how your kid was doing. But with 20 parents filtering in and out with their kids, it gets crowded and a little chaotic. But overall I really like this place. I wish more studios would offer child care - I believe so many parents would pay for this service! Plus the instructors are great. But if you prefer a more personal, intimate studio with more hands-on instruction then I would recommend another studio. read more

While I love the teachers and the pace of their classes, my problem with this studio is that they will let people in up to 20 minutes AFTER the start of the class. If you're like me and prefer to arrive to a yoga session a bit early to put your mat down, stretch and relax a bit, then this method of letting in latecomers is not for you. Imagine trying to listen to the teacher while laying on your back with your eyes shut and hearing someone rush in, pad around looking for a space to settle, flaps open their mat uncomfortably close to you and then rustles around getting settled 10-15 minutes after the start of class. As a result of this latecomer rule, Yoga Flow SF- Ocean classes are overcrowded and not relaxing. It has happened enough times for me that I swore off this place for good. read more

I recently attended Judy Lasater workshop on restorative yoga . The workshop called "​Settling into silence," lasted for 2,5 hours and covered 4 poses, a poem reading, and a few personal stories from Judy. While she did eventually answer questions about breath and yoga, the session fell short in providing the useful knowledge I had hoped for.Unfortunately, the experience was marred by poor organization. It was clear that the studio had oversold tickets, as there was not enough space for everyone. The way they moved people around the room to demonstrate was uncomfortable and far from the calming and settling environment one would expect from a restorative yoga session. Her commun​ication style felt somewhat abrupt. Overall, while I appreciate the effort Judy put into the workshop, I felt that the experience could have been improved with better organization and more focus on delivering practical yoga knowledge. I hope future workshops will address these concerns, but I personally would not attend again under the current circumstances. read more

There are two rooms here, one is very big and heated and the other is pretty small and non heated. Yes they are open. This studio staff is friendly and welcoming. The Ocean studio has heat that comes from both the floor and the sides, dry heat, so you can practice in comfort. Brad Brockbank is a wonderful teacher, and he does a lot of core work because the advanced poses are dependent upon a strong core. I highly recommend Brad. Also Neil. Both trained by Rusty Wells. Don't miss this opportunity to replace Yogatree which is now permanently closed due to the pandemic. Yoga flow is the natural replacement. read more

It took me over a year to realize, after a muscle injury and drifting away to other studios, that Yoga Flow SF is "home" to my yoga practice. This is a very large and clean studio with high ceilings located above the Fog Lifter and co-located with the Self Realization Center. There isn't a variety of classes, and it's generally all levels of flow, which works for me. You would practice positions that are suitable for your level. Before class most instructors will guide us through chants or set intentions before our practice. One of my favorite studio instructors is Claire. The classes are heated well, so prepare to sweat. Heavily. So bring a towel or rent one at the front desk. During the weekday classes, there is plenty of room for spots, so if you like to stretch out and like your personal space, this would be a good time to go. At least for now. The classes seem more attended than last year. Though the Sunday class at 4:30pm with Stephanie is another story. I attended her class for the first time this last week. She has quite a following. If you plan to go, be prepared you will be lined up mat-to-mat, front, back and sides. That may be your thing. You definitely need to be conscious not to step on someone else's mat or accidentally knocking your neighbor when kicking your leg back. When I spoke to the front desk, they indicated that this was their largest class of the week. They also offer special workshops and child care service. Prices are standard for yoga. It's a life practice for me, and glad I found my yoga home in SF. Namaste. read more

There's radiant heat, a sophisticated light system, and a spacious room. The lighting is probably my favorite part - they can change it to any chakra color you may need that day! Friendly teachers: I love Erika's classes. Her sequencing is always unique, dynamic and creative. You never feel bored, and it doesn't feel like a repetitive, robotic chain of sun salutations. She's knowledgeable and passionate about her work. Going to her class at 8:00 on Tues/Thurs and 6:00 on Friday is the perfect end to the work week/day! I was looking to transition from brazilian jiu jitsu, a pretty welcoming community, back to yoga (which should also be welcoming, but not all practices are the same). I was super apprehensive about starting here based on some negative reviews I'd read about customer service. I'm a full-figured woman of color: dealing with crappy service is a continuous struggle, especially in certain spaces. I've felt nothing but WELCOME here so far. All of my questions regarding booking childcare and navigating the online store have been handled with patience and grace. The clientele and staff are diverse in terms of gender, age and body type and so I'm not left with that outsiderism that can go along with not fitting into the "commercial yoga aesthetic". The space is beautiful...I accidentally ended up in the heated all-levels class rather than the non-heated beginner class I intended, and I was totally able to hang. My fear of struggling in a group setting after having been away from flow yoga for 5 years was unfounded. It truly is an all levels class in that everyone is just trucking along in their lane using all the necessary props to allow them the modifications they need. If I had needed to take a breather, I could have done that without feeling ostracized. I'll still plan to do a beginners class just so that I can fine-tune my positioning. I've yet to use the childcare but it was my main draw for checking this place out. I will update once I do. I hope that if you have any of the same type of "safe space" concerns that I had, you will give this place a try and maybe I'll see you on the mats. read more

I started at this studio from a groupon and now I'm an unlimited monthly member after so many great experiences. It's both an amazing, challenging work out and also a great place to clear your head as the instructors all encourage us to embrace change, forgiveness, and positivity through their words and chants. My only suggestion for management would be to have one guest pass per month for your monthly members! It'd be a great way to thank them as so many people who come are there through Groupon, classpass, living social etc. and the unlimited monthly fee is pretty steep. Thanks y'all love ya. read more

Yoga flow is a great studio with lots of conveniences, and the teaching staff is wonderful. You can book classes through their app. They have childcare in a wonderful play room for some classes, which is everything to working parents. The teachers really try to make the classes inclusive for beginners and veterans alike, and the studio itself is beautiful without being pretentious. They're great about covid protocols and really care about keeping their community safe. One of the best hot yoga studios on the west coast. Been to a fair number to know what's what. Space A large single hall, apparently a former Masonic temple, constitutes the physical parameters of the space. It can comfortably fit about 40-50 yogis on most nights. If a popular workshop is in town then it can max out at 100 but it rarely reaches these capacities. The space is gorgeously lit with teal, pink, red, and green hues, its flanked by four massive infrared heating machines that get the temperature up to 80-90 F depending on the instructors preference and the segment of the class one is experiencing. At the front of the hall is a small stage equipped with Tibetan singing bowls, drums, and harmoniums that come and go. Instructors I haven't been to a subpar class here yet. The class times are nice and long--60 min is the shortest, but there are also daily offerings of 90 min and 75 min classes. These are fantastic as all the instructors are trained in leading mantra meditation, setting intentions, and guided meditations in addition to the hatha/ vinyasa asana based practice that is the foundation of each class. The sequences vary on a nightly basis and by instructor, which is fantastic as one can train different aspects of the body on and never feel bored or anxious by routine. Each instructor is equipped with their own personal charisma that comes through in their respective class. Robyn Engel creates very unusual, challenging and creative sequences that test balance, strength of mind, and flexibility, often at fast pace. Lauren Pisano brings low fi and indie grooves to her evening classes, focuses on holding poses for longer periods and on back bends and inversion. Brad brings incense, lots of core work, and sitting meditation into the fold. All the instructors are very knowledgeable in the Sanskrit terminology, and each brings their own unique narrative voice to each class, offering not only encouragement but deeply life affirming messages and philosophical insights that stay with one long after the class is finished. Each gladly offers adjustments for students of all levels. Overall the energetic qualities of the space, the instructors, one's fellow students cultivate an atmosphere that, as corny as it may sound, is deeply nourishing and healing. read more

After being afflicted by my work injury for the last 6 months, I really needed to try something that will help build upper body strength. Figured hot yoga was worth a shot although I haven't yoga'd for over 10 years. The heat wasn't too unbearable. I was expecting some temperature that was so hot which made doing anything difficult. Not the case here. I felt really loose and relaxed. I wasn't familiar w/ the terms used so I kept peeking at the flexible yogi next to me. Hope she didn't think I was a creeper. Felt a bit restricted since we did 90% of the poses/moves/sets that had to do w/ supporting your weight on your hands. Big no no for me at the moment. Still got through it and it didn't feel any discomfort after the class was over. The 5 minute meditation at the end of the class was really calming and peaceful. read more
