The instructors are top-notch and I've loved every class I've taken, as each instructor's style is unique. While there are elements which are standard for every yoga class no matter where you go, the class experience here is just different... and elevated compared to a park district class. It's all about the details, and Beth has thought of every single one. There are environmentally friendly considerations throughout. My favorite classes are Soulful Yoga and Yin Yoga with Christy Studant. Can't wait to try aerial!

The teachers are incredible. Every teacher is different and special in their own way which makes it exciting to try out different classes with different teachers. I call them yoga choreographers because they come up with a different sequence each week. The vibe is friendly, inviting, and positive. The staff members go above and beyond...as today I left my keys at the studio and someone came to let me into the studio after it was closed. They were just happy they could help.

Their passion and positivity never feel forced, it's constant and authentic every single time. What stands out most is the sense of community you feel here. Yoga is a great way to stretch and strengthen, as well as, a way to center your mind and clear your head. It has been difficult for me to find a yoga studio that is close to home and has hours for people who work. When I saw Shoucha pop-up in a Yelp search I was elated. This is a small place. The classes I have attended have about 6 students. It looks like 9 people could fit in the space. At first I thought that was bad but then I realized that it made the class feel more personal. The instructor can pretty much see you at a glance and can offer suggestions and adjustments to your poses. Bring your own mat. If you don't have one, they have ones you can rent. I think it costs $1. You can use a multitude of props at no cost. I don't think they do walk in classes but you can sign up for one easily on the website. There is a new student special; $20 for unlimited classes for two weeks. This place has regular yoga and some yoga body bootcamp thing that I want to try. They also offer guided meditation that I will check out later this week.

Soft carpeting warms the floor while hanging plants and the soft glow of Christmas lights give life to the picture window seen from the outside. The soft "hum" of the cars on Main Street and St. Charles will eventually just become part of the studio's presence, rather than an annoyance. Music is played throughout class, (60-75 minutes), and will vary each time. What you take away from the sounds will be different for each person. There's a class for everyone, ranging from Vinyasa Flows, Meditation, to Boot Camp classes. It's recommended to view their schedule on the website or send an e-mail to the studio if you're not familiar. Age is not considered a factor for the practice, you just need to be willing. There weren't many intermediate or advanced pole classes I could drop into at Rising Goddess (mostly seems to series over a few weeks) so I took an intermediate hammock class instead. Easy to book but bummed that the level changed from advanced starting the week I was there. I was given the grand tour when I arrived. This is a MASSIVE space! Love how many pole, aerial, and dance rooms there are, as well as a kitchen for special events. Everyone was super friendly, to the point where I had to excuse myself from conversation because I was a few minutes late to class. Oops.
