I came in for an intro class to reformer Pilates led by Melanie. Loved the intro class and it was perfect for me since I am new to reformer Pilates. For someone that's been doing matt pilates, I really wanted to try reformer but was a little nervous about trying. Melanie really helped me better understand how to use the equipment, give me tips and great guidance on what to expect. New to Houston, I was looking to try pilates, and after researching some different studios, I decided to try club pilates in the Heights. As a beginner, I found the classes to be welcoming and comfortable. The intro and beginner classes help you get acclimated to the equipment. It's been over 6 months now and I have stepped it up to the 1.5 classes. The instructors are kind. very knowledgeable, and gently correct you for safety and proper movements. Meoka and Derek's are my favorite! You will learn classic pilates, or have the option for contemporary with circuit and strength training with weights. I'm so glad I found this studio. I've been coming here on and off for over a year and it is the only place that I will do Pilates! The team is so kind and caring and accommodating if you need accommodations and they move slowly, which is good so you feel like you're working more. Great experience with all instructors, specifically Meoka. The workouts are challenging yet approachable. Meoka pays close attention to everyone in class, offers corrections when needed, and makes sure movement are done safely and effectively. You can tell she's truly focused on those taking the class instead of just going through the motions. Highly recommend taking her class! read more

Just finished up six months with Club Pilates, Houston Heights and I couldn't be happier! All of the staff are very friendly and super helpful & the classes are a lot of fun! Through Lululemon's March Madness Event, I was able to do a free intro class with Club Pilates. I honestly was very impressed. Parking was fine- they have a garage and it's also next to my eye doctor which was even better lol. The studio is super clean. So is the bathroom. All the employees are super welcoming. I arrived about 10 minutes before my class, got checked in and welcomed. Then instructors talked about the studio, machines and just chatted with me about Pilates. I have taken several Pilates classes in the past and I really enjoyed it. This one was a little different because I felt like Rachel ( I hope I am recalling that right) really walked us through the movements and what to do with our breathing. Even though it was only 30 minutes, I did feel like it was a good workout. At one point, my hamstrings were burning, and that is always a good sign. I am certainly considering getting a membership, I hate how it's so expensive, but it definitely has worth it. They did share that their classes are typically 50 minutes long. I attended the intro class this week and had a great experience. The staff there are very friendly, informative and attentive to detail. Very nice staff. Instructors are super helpful and knowledgeable. Plenty of accommodations for injury and over all a great, calming, clean environment. Classes do fill up quickly so I would recommend booking out as far as possible so your place in class is secured. Parking in the garage is plentiful. Lots of construction around the area though so expect some pains getting to and leaving class, while they work on that! read more

Stupid 5 minute late policy NEVER mentioned on their description. That is an unrealistic policy, especially given the fact if you offer classes that occur during rush hour and you are on a street that is undergoing construction with only two lanes available. Usually takes me 10 minutes to get to this location, but because of rush hour + construction. Took me 30 mins, and I came 10 minutes late for my 4:30 class. I was turned away at the front desk with the "sorry it's our policy" bullcrap. Reason was because i missed warm up. Uh okay? If i choose to elect to skip warm-up portion that is my choice. read more

Just got back from my first pilates class here and was literally crying in the car afterward. I arrived 5 minutes past class time. I own that. I was no expecting there to be so much construction in the heights (I don't come here often) and I came in, apologized and said "I can leave, I don't want to disrupt anyone's experience". The woman at the front desk told me to go ahead and take the station closest to the door. What proceeded was 45 minutes of passive aggressiveness from the teacher. Several points in the class she singled me out for my bad form, made it a point to say loudly over and over to come early if I don't know what I'm doing. I should have left at the beginning when she was (quite poorly) explaining how to do a move, the ball I was using had fallen beneath my machine and I didn't want to make a lot of noise getting off the reformer to crawl under to get my ball. She came over and LOUDLY says "you can't just come here and not even try". After class I cleaned my machine and ran out the door as fast as a could. Another woman who was in the class found me and proceeded to tell me that pilates classes aren't supposed to be like that, that even she felt I was being singled out and bullied and made uncomfortable, she encouraged me to try other instructors here but I'm not so sure. I was already having a horrible morning and the class made it so much worse. It costs nothing to be kind to people, you never know what they are going through. read more

I have been going to Club Pilates in the Heights for about a year now and have found that it has really helped with my overall aches and pains and helped keep mobility in my joints. When you sit all day for work, you tend to get stiff. I was having shoulder issues when I started and even went to an orthopedic surgeon who wanted me to go thru physical therapy. Turns out that all I needed was a few months of Pilates and it worked itself out. I enjoy all of the instructors in all of the classes I have taken. Hit 150 classes yesterday. Club Pilates (this location) has been a great experience, especially with instructors, Meoka & Holly. They provide a high-level experience with thorough instruction for learning and proper form. They also challenge you to trust your body and strength, which i appreciate. Unfortunately, this is my last week of classes since I'll be moving. -1 star for the other instructors, from my experience, who are rude and spend most of class reading off a paper and lack of proficiency in instruction. read more

I booked my first class at Club Pilates and I booked via class pass. Now I was very excited to try this place out since it is so close to home! When I arrived at the studio the front desk Lady had asked me if I had grip socks I let her know I didn't bring any because I'm used to going to solid core where they weren't required. She said was fine and I could pick out any socks from the display next to the desk. Keep in mind this exact situation happened to the class pass member next to me. After she had picked out her socks the Lady at the front stated those will be $17.95. I quickly looked up realizing I didn't even have my card on me. I let the Lady know of that and all she said was "well they are required for class so I guess you can just give us a call." In utter confusion I asked If I was not allowed to take class? She said "No mam and the credits used on the class will be forfeited " . This absolutely does not make sense to me. I wouldn't have an issue with any sort of buying socks for a class. I think this needs to be communicated better on the Studios end so I could've showed up to this class prepared instead of being turned away and THEN told i was gonna loose my credits. Will not be returning. read more
