I love the instructors, the reformers and the Pilates classes, but their cancellation policy is too strict. The Pilates classes are expensive! Two Pilates franchises here one in Cutler Bay one in Palmetto Bay and I enjoy going but I have a medically fragile son so sometimes I have to cancel last minute. I have doctor notes for my son, but they won't accept them. They will only accept doctor notes for me. They have a 12 hour cancellation policy. I canceled with 11.5 hours notice, but they won't give me back my credit .that's hard to maintain on top of the medical bills and trying to keep yourself healthy and keep yourself fit I think that an eight hour policy is a little bit more realistic that still gives people time to go on the app and get in a last-minute class. Not a whole lot of flexibility or compassion with cutler bay and Palmetto Bay club Pilates. read more

Started at Club Pilates October 2022. I simply love the way Pilates makes me feel. Love all of the instructors (Anastasia, Isa, Alyssa, Claudette, Sabrina, Danielle and all of the front staff). I can't say enough good things about Club Pilates Cutler Bay! Samantha, my instructor, is amazing. She's super hands-on and really makes sure everyone is moving safely and not putting themselves at risk for injury. You can tell she has a ton of experience, and she really helps you focus on that mind-body connection so you actually feel the exercises working. What I love most, though, is how kind and welcoming everyone is. It's such a positive vibe, and it's made it easy to build real connections with both the instructors and other members. They have horrific customer service and predatory policies in place to ensure they get every last penny out of you. They make it impossible to cancel even when you are "month to month." I reached out to them and told them i would be traveling a lot for work the next 3 months to please freeze my account. I was told I needed to pay a freezing fee which did not sit well with me as I don't want to pay for a service I am not using. So I opted to cancel my account. I was told I would be billed for the month as I needed to give a 30 day notice and the 12 day notice I was given was not sufficient. I stated that I would not be paying for a month I am not doing and that 12 days seems perfectly reasonable to cancel. And at this point I was very annoyed so I let them know I would dispute it with my cc company as its something I requested to cancel and a service I was not using. They threatened me with collections because they are within their right to pray on people and demand you pay for 30 extra days. So i requested to freeze for one month and then cancel the following month. I was told that i would be billed for the month after freezing that its IMPOSSIBLE to cancel a frozen account. They love to hide behind "its our policy" which is a load of baloney. There is no reasonable reason why a membership can't be cancelled while frozen. The only reason why its impossible is to get more money out of their customers. There is no other logic. They are predators. I originally had a membership with one studio. Sent an email asking to please swap to another location that was closer to my house and now I am being told that this location has an electronic signature. I did not sign any agreement with the new location. Nor did I give permission for anyone to sign on my behalf. Seems pretty predatory and illegal to claim I signed a new agreement when I did not. Giving notice to request to switch studios is not the same as giving someone permission to sign on my behalf. read more

I became a member in 2020 and was happy, but something changed in 2022 and the customer service went down the drain. One of their biggest issues is that all their classes are always full so you can never get into a class. The next issue is their freeze and cancellation policy. I had a hospitalization in October and had to freeze my account. After that It wasn't going to be possible for me to return so I asked to cancel my membership. They canceled but I had to pay one whole month at $200 (despite me not being able to workout). Today I was looking at the classes on their app (which is not great) and accidentally booked a class. I called immediately once I realized my mistake and asked to cancel and for them to waive the cancellation fee. The manager refused and said they are not allowed, which is ridiculous because they have waived the fee many times in the passed. If you want to be taken to the cleaners then go ahead, otherwise I recommend you stay away. read more

"If I could give this place a 0-star rating, I would. They sent a message saying to arrive 10 minutes early, but they never mentioned that if you're even 5 min late, you won't be allowed in. That's something they should make VERY clear in their message. On top of that, they conveniently tell you to buy their grip socks on the same day of your appointment, leaving you with no time to get them elsewhere--so you're basically forced to buy them from them. Love Club Pilates. I regularly attend classes at the Palmetto Bay location. Great instructors. Very organized setting. As somebody that was suffering from a lower back herniated disc (that required surgery) I greatly benefited from strengthening my core before the surgery. I've been going to Club Pilates in Palmetto Bay for some months now. I saw the positive effects it was having on my wife and I decided to try it. I'm no gym rat, but at 62, I need low impact but strenuous exercise. Pilates delivers that. The trainers there at PB are all excellent, delivering clear instructions and watching and correcting your form. If you work it hard, you get results. I can't wait for the new Cutler Bay location opening soon near me. Same owners, and much of the staff and clients are moving over. Better and better. read more

The instructors are incredible. However, the management is what destroys this place. If you have any reason that you need to reschedule or cancel your class on the day of the class you get penalized. It doesn't matter how urgent or whatever the reason is. In our instance, we put School as a priority over this, and we got dinged. The price of things are so expensive and so much is going on they offer no grace or flexibility. My teenage daughter has a membership and twice in the last month she needed to reschedule because of academic school reasons. They offered her no flexibility and charged her and took away her classes. It truly makes me sad to see an establishment do this. They're driven by money not by the well-being of their clients. read more

I had been a member of this club since my boyfriend got me a membership for Valentine's Day. I enrolled in the monthly fee and had decided to take a small break from it since I would be traveling. On the last month of my membership I had a medical emergency - I had to have an appendectomy and I contacted the club to see if they would hold my remaining classes for the month and they said no. I requested a partial refund and they simply said it was not their policy to do anything since it was the last month on my membership. This was after the claim to "want to work with you if you ever need anything". It's not a lot of money but it's the principle of the situation! The customer service is awful here - avoid if you can! You have instructors taking classes at times (taking up spots in already full classes). Just avoid if you can. Also the classes here are ALWAYS full so good luck getting a spot in any class unless you plan on going at 6 AM. PSA - join club Pilates through Active and Fit (you can join through your insurance if you have) and the membership for the 4 pack class is $89, you don't have to pay a registration fee and you don't have to sign a 3 month contract. But also don't join THIS particular club. read more

I can't believe I haven't posted a review sooner. I love CP! Iv been a member for about a year at palmettobay. I recently accomplished about 100 classes. There are plenty of classes to mix up your work out routine. The instructors and staff are amazing and friendly! It's not at atmosphere where instructors who pass you by, they're truly friendly and care for the members. They're always making sure your getting the best workout or stretch and really get to know each members strengths and weaknesses. The members are just as friendly and helpful. It's truly a great place and great energy. Even during COVID they're doing everything to keep everyone safe. Fav class picks- F.I.T., Cardio Sculpt & control but all the classes are great! read more

This Club Pilates in Palmetto Bay is simply amazing - the instructors are superb, kind and helpful; the club is SUPER clean and kept immaculately! I simply love going there. The 50 min workouts are truly effective time spent - most of the time they are a fully body workout that targets not only the large muscle groups, but the tiny fast-twitch muscles that rarely get moved as effectively as during Pilates. I have been working out here since they opened. All the instructors are wonderful and the front staff is amazing also. If you are looking for a full body workout, recovery workout or just starting out I would recommend you try Pilates here. You won't be disappointed. Wow! Nancy is very rude and condescending. Really made me want to leave the class early. This isn't my first class with her, and I have noticed her tone when she corrects others. Level 1.5 class and when I was trying to catch my breath, she looks at me and goes "what, why aren't you doing it. Let's go." My friend and I were shocked with her tone and neck rolling when she said that. Her overall tone is very condescending and just rude. Any corrections you need or breaks you may need to take, she will *rudely* call you out. We'll stick to Isa's classes. She made the experience very,very un-pleasurable. read more

Began a few months ago and have been going consistently 2ce/week. The place is VERY clean and not smelly like other Pilate places I've been to. I've taken several different classes at different times and all the instructors, thus far are great. Was a little frustrated at first not being able to spontaneously pick a class since as they fill up quickly in advance but I've learned as soon as my billing cycle begins, to book for a few weeks. I'm not great at exercising, but since joining Club Pilates I've loved it! The instructors are amazing, always willing to help, teach new exercises, and help with different options based on your injuries, flexibility, etc. The facility is extremely clean and very welcoming. Cancellations & freezing of my acct has been very easy, contrary to what others have said. They DO work with you when necessary. I've made some wonderful friends there. They could have been better! SOOOOOO much better but they FAILED! I gave 1 star to be fair to the wonderful instructors who taught amazing classes. They deserve 5 stars. My issue is not with the classes "when I could get in". They were great but they were also always unavailable. I had to book weeks in advance upwards of 25 classes (or whatever the max was) just to be able to set a schedule for myself to get in there everyday, instead of being waitlisted to workout on the fly. Oh and if you are accepted for a waitlist within the 12 hour class cancellation period and cannot attend anymore because you have made other plans. You WILL be charged $10. They refunded one or two of them I think but that happened to me so many times that I stopped waitlisting and started advance booking instead. So, while I say that was not my big issue, it is still something to consider before joining because it is a problem. The issue was that I had an injury that was unrelated to the classes. I paid for many months with the intention of attending. I could have frozen each of those months but I so wanted to be well enough to get some classes in at some point in the month. Wishful thinking on my part! Unfortunately, I paid $1000 to them over 4 months and did not step foot in the place. I asked for a courtesy refund of the last $250 charge because I decided to just cancel for now and renew later when I was better. Unfortunately, they cancelled and basically did not refund the charge they had literally just made to my card a couple days before. Exact words, I have set your membership to cancel with a 30 days notice. 30 day notice? I get that there is a policy but they gave zero consideration at all, especially when they know that I am unable to workout in those 30 days!!! They went on to say that is why they have a freeze policy. I did not ask for $1000 because I know I am at fault for not freezing but was looking for some consideration given the issue. For that, they get 0 stars and will forever lose me and anyone I know as a member. I really loved the place and the staff but I refuse to give my money to companies that lack empathy and good customer service. They do not follow basic customer retention best practices. It is much harder to get new members as a business than it is to be kind to the ones that really want to stay with you. Sometimes life happens and members may be forced to take a break. That is no reason to be unreasonable because that same person who had to cancel may be recommending people to you. Instead you play hardball and lose the potential for the old member to resign and anyone they know to sign up. It's at those times, when there is a special case of injury, that companies should make considerations on a case by case basis against their policy. Anyways... it is a shame. My advise is do not sign up with any gym that has a bunch of ongoing penalties. Let this review be your first and last red flag on that subject! All these 5 star ratings could easily turn into 2 or less stars once life happens to them because while it may feel like a little Pilates family to them now, they are not even being considered by Club Pilates. They just don't know it yet. I have no ill feelings against any employees, they are all wonderful. It's the company policy I have problems with! read more
