Different classes, some extremely hot, some more focused on sculpting with light dumbbells keeps things interesting. The heat and higher rep light weight really works wonders on your physique and your soul. But after Covid hit, I transitioned to at-home workouts--rowing, walking, and VR exercises. While they kept me active, I wasn't building any real strength. As a Lab mom, I started noticing I was struggling to lift my dog's 32lb bag of food. I had a hard time with it--way more than I should have. That's when it hit me: age was playing a role, and the lack of consistent strength training was catching up to me. I knew I needed to get back into the gym, but I wasn't interested in a big-box gym. I needed personal attention and encouragement from a coach who understood my goals. On top of that, I had been dealing with a nagging shoulder issue that was quickly progressing toward becoming a frozen shoulder.
