I have been taking my sons to Dr. Clyde Uchida and his daughters' pediatric dental clinic since they were very young, and now at 14 and 10, we are still so grateful for the care they receive. From the very beginning, they have created a warm, welcoming environment that makes my kids feel comfortable and at ease. My older son is on the spectrum, and it means so much to us that he feels safe and very comfortable going to his appointments. The team is patient, gentle, and always takes the time to explain things in a way my boys understand, which has made a big difference in how they feel about going to the dentist. I had a disappointing experience with Dr. Cherie Uchida. I asked which teeth had received sealants because I wanted to clearly understand my child's treatment. I didn't understand the initial explanation, so I asked a follow-up question. Instead of getting a simple clarification, I felt like I received a long explanation that didn't answer what I was asking, and the interaction came across as impatient. What also confused me was that Dr. Cherie said she had told me at a previous visit that there were two cavities. I don't remember being told that. My recollection is that I was advised to brush the back teeth better, but I was not told there were cavities. That inconsistency left me questioning what had actually been discussed. Good communication is important to me, especially when it comes to understanding my child's dental care. We love it here! I have a 7 and 3 year old and this is the only office we've visited. All 3 dentists have been excellent so we never have a preference to who we see. The staff are kind and attentive; they have a movie playing in the lobby which is great pre entertainment. I regret trusting this clinic for as long as I did. My advice: AVOID THIS CLINIC. They recommended unnecessary fillings and caused my daughter physical pain and severe dental anxiety. My daughter started here with Dr. Clyde when she was 2 or 3 years old. She is now 16. My daughter was very calm and stoic in the beginning, even when fillings were done at a young age. She was unusually brave for a young child. While Dr. Clyde himself did not cause problems, once we began seeing the daughters, everything changed for the worse. Suddenly, every visit seemed to result in multiple fillings. When I questioned the shocking number of fillings she kept accumulating, I was informed that some kids are just more prone to cavities. My daughter developed severe cold sores and bruising after appointments, and she complained that they operated at a rushed pace and ignored her pain and discomfort. She said the anesthetic wasn't given enough time to work, and that kids were lined up in chairs in an assembly-line fashion. Parents are never allowed in the back, which I found concerning from the beginning--especially for very young patients. The atmosphere of the clinic felt more about business volume and money than quality care. At her last visit, my daughter--who had always declined laughing gas --begged for it because she was terrified. She later reported that it did not work. She ended up crying and trembling through the entire appointment, while the dentist pushed forward despite her panic. When I called to address it, I got excuses, and they insinuated that my daughter was experiencing psychosomatic pain. This was not the first time my concerns were handled in a dismissive way. That last visit was the last straw. We switched to my own dentist, who reviewed the X-rays from this clinic. In my dentist's opinion, the two additional fillings this clinic recommended were clearly unnecessary--one was even an area they had already filled. My dentist was gentle, explained everything to my daughter, and restored her trust in dental care. Please take seriously the many reviewers warning about unnecessary procedures and assembly-line dentistry here. I went to this dentist for many years and I agree 100% with others that this is a total scam. You should NOT send your child here. They messed up my teeth by saying I had cavities for many years, and basically gave me a filling between all of my teeth. I had never had a single cavity before I came to this dentist and didn't have one after. It turns out that these fillings they insisted on, with were $1,000s out of pocket, were unnecessary based on other dentists' opinions. The fillings were also poorly done as per my current dentist's opinion, one filling has developed an air pocket in it, for example, which my dentist said is due to this dentist's error in placing it. I'm really surprised at the negative yelp reviews. Never had a problem. My son has been going to the Kahala mall location since he was very young. He is 16yrs old now. Dr. Clyde Uchida has been very professional and informative. His staff is very friendly and efficient. Located in Kahala mall, near Pizza Hut and Panda. Free parking. There is also another location near Pearl Ridge, next to Big City Diner, same parking lot where Toys R US used to be. Dr. Uchida has his twins working with him. I moved my daughter to Clyde Uchida when my oldest was 5 she is 11 now. A friend recommended his practice because her 4 children go there let me just say they have been a blessing. They are friendly and my daughter doesn't cry anymore she actually loves going to the dentist. My two year old loves going their too. They have a practice in Kahala and Pearl ridge area. My kids love picking a toy from the treasure box and the kids movies they can watch. My daughters old dentist was a nightmare. I'm shocked all the bad reviews. I've never been pressured to gas my child it's always my choice and updating the forms is normal because things change. Just had our second checkup with Dr Uchida and team! My daughter loved both of her visits! Dr. Uchida was very entertaining and gentle! Both my kids have been to this office. Parents are not allowed to be with their children at any time when they are being treated and once the kids are taken to the back they are made to sit and wait which for fearful kids isn't great. The front staff are so focused on forms and taking payments it feels like it's an assembly line. What made us finally leave was one of my kids supposedly needed a bunch of fillings and while Dr Clyde was explaining what had to happen my kid thought they would have to have to pull the teeth. Innocent mistake for a little kid! When my kid fearfully questioned the doctor his assistant laughed out loud! They made my kid who was trying to advocate for themself feel like an idiot. I'm sure Dr Clyde is experienced at what he does but because of his choice of staff and the operation of his office I'm sorry we stayed as long as we did. How can anyone give this place low scoring. I LOVE this business. So, they have two locations; Kahala Mall and Pearlridge. I frequent the Kahala Mall one because it is closer to me. I am not sure where the Pealridge location is but the one at Kahala is located on the outside near Panda Express. I have been coming to them for almost 10 years. My sister brought her son here and when I had my kids, she referred me to Drs. Uchida. The office is so cozy, clean, and nice. As soon as you enter, you are greeted with friendly and helpful staff. Whenever I have questions, they always have an answer. And if they don't have an answer, they will turn to their colleague and they do it with a smile and they are always genuine. They give answers very promptly. I don't have to wait for an answer. They are always smiling!!!! The staff are very knowledgable. Every time I go in, there is always a kid friendly movie playing. I feel like I should come to the dentist instead of going to the movies! I've seen The Croods, Frozen, CoCo, Incredibles 2, the list goes on. The decor is awesome too. The wall has cartoon-y sea animals that are super kid friendly. This a family business because the doctors consist of the father and his twin daughters. All three of them are super friendly and always speak in a calm manner. I don't feel like I'm getting scoldings from them or anything. I wish I could come to them as a patient! As soon as it is your kids appointment, the staff takes them in by themselves. When I first took my daughtee I was so scared because she was in an unfamiliar place without me. But the staff took good care of her and I never had problems since *knock on wood* There's a door to enter to pay for the procedures, two consultation rooms, and then another door where rhey do their procedures. Parents are not allowed to go through that second door but I remember getting a small tour. There is an xray machine and another waiting area for the kids. There are tvs that are placed so that when you are lying down on the chair you can watch tv. So whatever movie is playing in the waiting room, is what the same that your kid is watching in there. I think they have the movies on a playlist because once a movie is done, another one pops up. So in summary, I really don't understand how this place has an average of 3 stars. Do NOT go to this dentist. They do unnecessary procedures on your children to make money. This place is a scam. If you are told your child has a cavity or needs any sort of dental work done - GET A SECOND OPINION. They told us our 5 year old son had 8 cavities in all of his molars. After having perfect teeth at every other visit. And they suggested filling them over 4 different appointments and using laughing gas each time!!! They didn't even review his xrays with me, they showed me some generic chart and told me that some kids have weaker teeth than others. I took him to get a second opinion and he has 1 legitimate cavity. NOT 8. And this new pediatric dentist said he never uses laughing gas on children. I am so glad there are other reviews of this dentist on here explaining this exact scenario happening to others. I am so glad that I did not put my son thru such an awful experience for no reason! I only hope that this review might save other children. I plan on looking into legal action as this has got to be illegal. They seem to use unnecessary dental work on children just to make money. We took my son, 3 years old, to Dr. Clyde Uchida in Kahala, for some cavities on his front teeth. After fixing the cavities, or so we thought, my son had an accident a few days later, and ALL 3 front teeth broke off. It was not a serious accident. The teeth should not have broken. On top of that, there was an immediate smell of decay, and we realized that they did not clean out the cavities, but merely covered them up. When we took my boy back to see him, he denied any and all responsibility and blamed us as parents. He refused to take any action for my son who was in pain. He was extremely rude, almost combative. When he realized we were not happy, he just walked out and didn't even listen to us. This has been the worst dentist I have ever met or come into contact with in my life! Stay away from Clyde Uchida! I hate giving one star reviews. I especially hate giving them to actual people. Let's get this straight. I have no beef with any of the three doctors. Don't take this personally. I only feel that I have to tell my story because it NEEDS to be told. Policies are in effect for reasons, I'm sure. No reason I'm aware of. My 4 year old had a cavity that needed to be filled. Super routine procedure, so I wasn't too worried. My mom took her as her father and I were both working that day. I was shocked to find out that no adults are allowed in the back. WHAT??? I want to know why!!! Most other dentists and doctors require that a guardian be with the child! That was just the beginning. My daughter comes out and she is swollen. Like, beehive stung swollen. My mom is infuriated and texts me pictures. They numbed her mouth and apparently, the nurse that was supposed to be watching her wasn't. She bit through her entire lip essentially splitting it and it was profusely bleeding. She must have been left unattended for at least 10 minutes. Her bleeding didn't stop until the second day, and gauze in her mouth had to be changed every hour. Now this, people, is why parents should be present when their children have a medical procedure done. Now my daughter has a scar on her lip. A SCAR. Very prominent, on the front of her bottom lip. I had to take my child to the pediatrician twice to get her checked. Had to pick up two different medicines. Had to put her on a three day long liquid diet. Had to keep her out of school for 5 days. This incurred all kinds of extra costs: doctor, medicine, child care, etc. This dental office had the nerve to CHARGE ME. Almost $400 was put in my credit card. $400 to disfigure my child? Get a clue. I promtly cancelled all future appointments. A thousand dollars (dental costs + additional costs) later, and this office is still telling me that its not their fault and there's nothing they can do. Beware, parents. If someone's hiding something, its not usually a good thing. I'd be very careful when any medical professional tells you, "you're not allowed back there". Don't be fooled. I should have written this review a long time ago. Clyde Uchida was a horrible experience for our family and getting our kids to another dentist was a move I should have made much, much sooner. First of all, we spent a lot of money with cavities. Every time we went Dr. Uchida claimed our children had cavities. As his prices as a pediatric dentist are higher, our insurance paid less and it was always stressful financially. When he told me our daughter had six cavities, we decided to switch to our family dentist. We found out she only had one cavity. He said she had "small blemishes" that might turn into cavities if not taken care of. I now wonder how many other "cavities" were unnecessary fillings. Worst part. When we finally switched dentists our kids were so surprised that our family dentist was "nice" and "didn't hurt them." Dr. Uchida does not allow parents in the back and our kids were always so reluctant, but never said anything specific until we switched dentists. Now, my daughter tells me that Uchida is mean, ill-tempered, and nothing like the face he portrays in the front to the parents. I would not recommend this dentist. read more

Awful experience all around. Front office staff is barely literate, rude and hard to communicate with. Then they call you to the back to prepay for services. Makes me feel like I would skip out on them. But that is not the worst. Staff wanted to do a full mouth scan, but upon inquiry no one on the staff knew what type or amount of radiation my 5 Year old would be exposed to nor could anyone explain why it is needed before she has her exam. talk about unnecessary exposure to radiation. of course non ofv this is explained by an actually educated dentist but it's recited by someone with no training or medical education. Now the worst part..the office has a strict separation policy, whereas the parent cannot accompany the 4 or 5 Year old child into the exam and treatment room.....for me that was it. I walked out. Dr. Clyde Uchida, in Kahala Mall, came recommended highly by several of my co-workers. He has been my daughter's dentist since she was one year old, and 15 years later, she's still seeing him, as he and his staff have provided excellent oral care to my daughter. He also referred us to a great orthodontist a few years back. Dr. Uchida is a terrific dentist: highly-experienced, knowledgeable, great with kids, thorough and patient with parental questions and concerns, and well-qualified, with a master's degree in dentistry. He has been consistently named on the Best Dentists in Honolulu list. His two twin daughters are also in practice with him, and I've heard from other parents that they are also good. We've never experienced anything but courteous treatment and efficient and timely service from this dental practice. The office also makes it a point to provide reminder calls in advance of the appointment, so if you do need to cancel or reschedule, there's ample lead time. Dr. Uchida was my dentist when I was younger. When it was time for my son to go to a dentist we decided on him because it was close to where we live. My son is ok to go in the back by himself when he had to get two fillings and the dentist said he was ok and didn't cry which I was surprised. It's always busy here so expect to wait about 10-15 minutes past your appointment time till they see your child. They always give the child a balloon and let them choose a little prize. read more

I'm generally of the sort that lives by the saying, "If you don't have something nice to say... don't say it at all." But, I really feel it would be a disservice to the community, especially to those with young children, to not share my experience with this company. Over ten years ago we chose the Uchidas based on their reputation as one of the best pediatric dentists on the island. Their office is bright and cheerful, and our children were downloaded with treasure box toys, helium filled balloons, and a grab bag full of dental products decorated with their favorite characters from t.v. It all seemed up-and-up at the start. The fact that they don't allow parents to go into the treatment area was somewhat unnerving, especially since our kids tend to be anxious. Their cure for this, was to administer nitrous oxide as a calming solution. They explained that we could forgo this option, but that it was very commonly used and that it would help calm the child's nervousness. We allowed it once for our eldest, and once for our youngest. But, never again. Not only did it not help them... it was disorienting and seemed to make the experience worse. And, this was hard to figure out because the children were so young at the time, their ability to communicate what happened behind closed doors was limited. From that point on the Uchidas recommended many treatments with our children's teeth, i.e. application of sealants, filling cavities, re-filling cavities, capping teeth, extractions, etc. They explained that some children were just prone to weaker teeth. My husband and I did not recall having to have these many procedures in our youth. Additionally, we have given the children the recommended fluoride drops, daily flossings, and fluoride rinsing each day - nothing we really did as kids. So, it seemed strange that their teeth were somehow so much weaker than ours. We also aren't a high sugar intake family. The explanation we were given was that it was better to get these procedures done, than face the "what ifs" later. My eldest has special needs, and isn't one to protest much. My youngest, is more able to speak up. And, would get upset at going to the dentist. At about 4 years old, she insisted on not seeing Mr. Uchida as she felt he was rough on her and "pushed", or held her, down during the treatment in a manner that made her feel scared. She continued to see the twins (Uchidas) for a couple years, until their last recommendation of another root canal. We decided to get a second opinion, as this is the second time one of her filled cavities was now being recommended for a full cap. We went to another reputable dentist in our area and he was very clear that the root canal was NOT necessary. We have now been with this doctor for a year and have not had to readdress the cavity that the Uchidas wanted to cap. The filling remains in tact and the cavity has not grown or spread. This made me question all the treatments my older child endured, and all the money we spent at their business... which was substantial. It also confirmed what my youngest had been expressing all along. Later, I also looked up their more recent reviews online and discovered horrific descriptions of what other families are going through with them. I wish I had periodically checked their reviews, so that I would have been more aware of what was happening right under my nose. Like another poster here, my son is special needs also. However, we've had great experiences with Dr. Clyde as well as his daughters, Dr.s Cherie and Renee. My son even had an extra tooth removed here, and I never heard him say anything bad about Dr. Clyde of the staff, and he is always eager to go when it's checkup time. I've found the staff to be efficient and friendly, especially with the billing. Dr. Uchida's practice reminds me of my dentist growing up in Tennessee; very kid friendly practice, always listened to the kids stories as well as helped us feel at ease. I'm sorry the other poster perceived such a terrible experience, but special needs children can often be difficult to treat medically. Often times I'm forced to restrain my son for blood-draws, vaccinations, etc. It's tough to be a special needs parent and I completely sympathize with the desire to protect your very vulnerable child from pain and suffering. The alternative to my son receiving proper care is unappealing to us, so we have to take the bad with the good. However, my son is very comfortable with this practice and cooperates with cleanings, flouride treatments, and even the panoramic x-rays. My son has been going here for several years and he's seen all of the 3 Dr. Uchidas. All 3 are awesome. My son tends to favor the female Uchida's since he's 12... yeah. He gets all bashful around them. LOL Anyway, the office is always clean, staff always professional and there's not a really long wait time as long as you're there on time for your appointment. My son has had cavities filled and basic cleanings and unlike other DDS (that my niece went to), he never left injured or hating the dentist. This dentist makes going to the dentist enjoyable for kids which is so important because oral health is important! We only get 1 set of adult teeth afterall!! Love this place. read more

Dr. Uchida is a very kind and caring Doc! He sees all 3 of my sons and they have no problem marching straight back to the office. If I could give ZERO stars I would. Let me start by saying that as children, my sister and I saw Dr. Clyde Uchida from when we had our first teeth until I felt like I was the oldest kid in the waiting room, and always had great service and no problems. So when it was time for my son to see a dentist, I went straight to Dr. Uchida again. However, my son always sees one of the twins, not Dr. Clyde Uchida. Last year when my son was 3 years old, he had to have fillings on his front 4 teeth. About 6 months later, one of the fillings chipped off. I was a little shocked because I have never had a filling fall out and mine are 20+ years old. So I brought him back and PAID to have it repaired. I was a little irritated, but thought it was a freak incident. Then last week Wednesday, my son chipped a filling on a different tooth while eating dinner. And let me say that he wasn't eating anything crunchy or hard at the time. Now I'm like "WTH"? I didn't have a car that day, so I asked my parents to take him to his appointment last Thursday to fix the filling. The office calls me to PRE-PAY for the repair and I opted for the $85 additional for laughing gas, for a total of ~$210. Then my mom calls me after the appointment to say that as soon as they got into the car to come home, my son tells her "Grandma look, it came off!" and had his NEW filling in his hand!!! So she takes him right back into the office and the receptionists keep asking her if he was touching the filling or eating something.. implying that it was his fault that it fell off again. She told them no, he literally just walked to the car and it fell out. So they say they will squeeze him in and fix it again. Then 2 days later on Saturday, it falls off AGAINNNNN! Now I'm pissed. I paid $200+ for a repaired filling that fell off twice after it was repaired. So I found him a new dentist and went back to the Uchida's to complain. They offered to look at it and fix it again, but I said no and wanted a refund, which they eventually agreed to. Switching to Pedodontic Associates, Inc. which was recommended to us by a good friend who takes their kids there. read more

We went to Dr. Uchida because a friend referred us. We had no problems and went religiously to all check ups. We were surprised to find our child had 2 huge cavities after just 6 months. We did not floss regularly, but did brush regularly. We explained this to the dr. and he assured us that we were doing great and keep it up. We were unhappy about the cavities, but mostly unhappy about the treatment plan. Laughing gas was strongly recommended and on top of it our child was going to be restrained in something that looked like a straight jacket for a mental patient and that we wouldn't be allowed to go back and be with our child who would probably be traumatized by all that was happening to her. Although both cavities looked the same, it was recommended to do one and "watch" the other. We were also told that once they were in the tooth, they'd be able to tell if they needed to place a cap on the tooth. No xrays done. I was clearly bummed that my child was going to go through all this. As I was discussing with a co-worker, she shared that she too had gone to the Uchida's. Both her children were constantly being over-treated. She finally went to for a second opinion which confirmed the teeth were being over-treated. On top of it, her daughter claimed that after the my co-worker would leave the room, Dr. Uchida was not kind to her and often mean. I took that with a grain of salt. However, speaking with other parents, I have since found out that this is true for some of their children as well. Upon hearing this we took our child to a different pediatric dentist, who confirmed that there was NO WAY our child would need a cap, and that both teeth needed to be filled or you'd risk greater issues on the other side. Something I could see when the Uchida office showed me the two cavities. I am sorry to say I was dazzled by the fancy office and the EXTREMELY kid friendly environment. I have mixed feelings, so i will be fair and start with the good. I do think they are very kid friendly the toy box is awesome the balloons are really fun and their staff is generally acomadating. Now for the meh, I have better part. My daughter has been going to dentists since she was one. This is the first dentist that pushes the laughing gas so hard, (and at 85.00 a pop it is not cheap). I think that all kids are scared and that is part of being a good provider is learning how to put them at ease without drugs. The last visit I had I didn't use the laughing gas and got a lecture about how she really needs it etc.... When I asked my daughter about it she said it wasn't any different from the time she had it than when she didn't have it. I also think that the tone of the twins can be condescending, they recommended I get therapy for my daughter (which I did for an entire year) then basically said it was pointless and she still needed an orthodontist (they recommend their friend). I think the father is much nicer than the daughters.......... I can understand why people feel like they are getting hustled. In the end my kid likes them, so I still go until I can find better. Dr Uchida and his daughters are amazing and so caring, but his staff SUCKS. At BOTH locations. We show up to our appointments 10-15 minutes early, and wait over an HOUR to be seen. People walk through the door, LATE for their own appointment, and the staff will send them straight into the back! Why do they show up late to their appointments and get seen right away, while we show up early and are forced to wait? The late people should have to reschedule! And the staff don't care! They're so busy talking story and eating and checking their facebook to even realize what's happening. When I asked them why others are walking in while we've being waiting, they give stupid responses like "their appointment was before yours". YES, but they weren't here and I was! So how does that make sense?! This has happened every. single. time. It's SO hard to entertain 2 small children, and every visit became more and more frustrating. We finally switched to Pedodontic Associates and could not be happier!!! Their staff are much more helpful, nice and obviously smarter. read more

Heed this warning, customer service is nonexistent. Had to cancel an appointment, with ample time and they came back with a remark, "if you don't pay the $50 (cancellation fee) you can take your services somewhere else." Now mind you we had to cancel for an urgent matter, but of course if that's how they treat loyal customers, then of course I'll gladly take my services somewhere else. Guess, this your typical business where they let customers think they care, but in the end it's the good 'ol dollar that's more important to them. I've been going to Dr. Uchida for my entire life... And I'm probably his oldest patient now but I've had nothing but good experiences at Dr. Uchida. He's always smiling and so nice and can always think of ways to cheer you up. He's terribly wonderful.... And I swear, the guy doesn't age!!!! He loves cars so he can talk to you for awhile if you bring up fast cars. The visits are usually quick and painless and even when I was young I remember liking all of the people that I've met in their office. They talk to you throughout the visit so you know what to expect. They don't even get mad if you bite their finger during the xray part. I must do that everytime.... I can never bite on the tabs correctly... Everything is designed for young kids so the chairs are shorter, they have disney/cartoon movies on the tvs 24/7 (ummm they have tvs at each dental chair! put on the kid-size sunglasses and watch tv while they clean!), they have the toy box and the free toothbrushes/toothpaste/floss you get at every visit. It never gets old. I wish adult dentist had the same type of thing. When Dr. Uchida can't do the work himself he has never lead me me wrong. He has referred me to some of the best orthodontists and dental specialists that I have nothing but good experiences with. Open appointments usually are a month ahead so don't expect to get an appointment this week if you need one. Plan ahead! And I haven't had any problems with my HDS statements either. And of course it's always awesome to follow up a dental visit with some cookies from cookie corner or a lunch at The Counter... They're located right next to Panda Express fronting the parking area and where all the trucks loading zone.You walk down a short corridor passing the back entrances to Marsha Nadalin and a few other stores and you'll see their glass doors at the end of the hallway. They moved from the other side of the mall a few years back now... Haven't had any dealing with his daughters but I've only heard good things about them. I don't think I could tell them apart but really, you have 3 dentists in the family, you can't go wrong with any of them... All of them went to the same dental programs too! I would definitely take my own children to Dr. Uchida and I have nothing but nice things to say about him... Wonderful Dentist! read more

All of our three kids see Dr. Clyde and his two daughters, also Drs and we just love it here! Appointments are timely and the kids are usually taken less than 10 minutes from arriving. The drs and staff are all super friendly and always smiling. My daughter has had a few cavities, all fixed and she said it didn't even hurt. We opted for laughing gas, though it's not covered by insurance, it's absolutely worth it. She has no fears of the dentist office and actually quite enjoys it. There's always a Disney movie playing and the kids are occupied and happy, whilst being treated. Cleanings typically take an hour and I walk around the mall and they'll text me when the kids are done. Love this office and couldn't say better things about it! read more

As a dentist dr Uchida is decent. I have no complaints about him. His staff and his hours of operation on the other hand trump anything that he does. They do not give courtesy calls to remind you of appointments regularly. I understand it is our responsibility as parents to keep track of these things. However I do not appreciate it when they tell you they left voice messages and calls when in reality they did not and their is no evidence on phone bills to prove it. They then charge $25 to $50 dollars when all they needed to do was call to remind someone of their appointment. I originally chose them because of the convenience of their office being at a mall. Unfortunately the hours suck and the parking is not ideal. I would highly suggest seeking a more professional dentist. read more

Doctor Uchida was reffered to me by another Dentist because of my 2 year old daughter disorder. The staff along with the dentist seemed very nice and willing to work with my family, my daughter needed one of her teeth pulled which as a mother understood it needed to be done what I DID NOT understand is why she needed to go back there alone. I called the office to confirm that I would not be allowed in the back with my 2 year old child and even tried to compromise with the staff. i asked if I could wait near the door so I am able to at least see what is going on they refused and continued to tell me it is their policy to have the parents wait in the waiting while the child is having any form of procedure done and that it is best for my child.. I explained that this is my child first time having any type of procedure and that she is only 2 years old also reminding the staff that this was only her second visit to there office. After about 25 minutes of trying to come up with some form of compromise the staff still refuse to allow me as my childs mother to sit with her. I cancelled my appointment and will not be goinh back, I do not understand why parents are not allowed to be with their MINOR but I feel like it is very unusual read more

Clyde Uchida was my dentist when I was younger. I would highly recommend him. I was terrified on the dentist and by chance and luck my regular dentist was sick and Dr. Uchida was there to help........he is personable and puts even the most terrified at ease.....I was soo sad when I turned 18 and was told I had to see an adult dentist.... read more
