One of my top favorite spots for Korean fried chicken hands DOWN! To all my onion lovers - the Snow Onion Chicken is to DIE for. Garlic Soy lover? Get the spring onion garlic soy and get the best of both worlds. Extremely crispy fried chicken that comes out so hot you have to choose between burning your mouth or watching everyone else dig in. The chicken stays crispy for the whole meal but note if you get these onion chicken variations they do get soggier faster - don't worry you probably would've devoured the whole meal by then.

Food is always on point here. Fresh and tasty. Service can always be a hit or miss but there's some friendly staff here. We ordered from the kiosk and waited for the food. The space here is huge, plenty of seatings with tvs all around. The robot brought out our order and that was pretty cool. Wings take a while so that came out last. Never had wings with the onion on top before, it just looks like it's too much onion, but I was wrong. The onion paired with the wings and sauce came out perfect. It's cold and it's not so pungent either. It's like a fresh onion salad.

We came in on a Thursday evening thinking that we would get fast service. but they only had one guy taking orders and delivering food. he did have a robot buddy helping him deliver the food which was pretty cool. For some reason I ordered the chicken drummies plain, still don't know why I did that. but they were ok. my friend ordered the tenders, honey style which were really good. I also had the ramen noodles which was great. if you were to dine here, get the food to go or delivered. the ambiance was lacking.

This place is definitely worth a try! I came on an empty Wednesday morning and got the honey garlic chicken with a thai tea to go. It took a while to come out but it was fresh and hot. It is on the pricey side but I think it's worth it for the quality of the chicken and seasoning. It's so crispy and seasoned perfectly. It comes with a dozen I believe. Ambiance is a large hall-looking area and has big TVs.

I recently had a day off and decided on giving CM Chicken for lunch. The dining area was much bigger than I was expecting. I thought it was the order at the counter type of spot, but I was told to seat myself and someone came to take my order. I ordered the lunch special, selecting garlic soy chicken wings and fries. My order was delivered to my table about 15 minutes after ordering which was nice as I read a few other reviews before going and a long wait time was mentioned. The chicken wings were cooked perfectly. They were crispy and juicy, and I enjoyed the soy garlic flavor. The fries were also solid. I'll be back to try more options!

We were in town for a ball game, and my neighbor suggested we try this place out. He was actually just here yesterday. It's way bigger than I would have guessed. Super clean. Spacious. We were greeted right away and took a seat anywhere we desired. We were promptly attended to. The menu isn't all that expansive, however, the next time I return I'd like to try some other things we don't have this visit. On a recommendation from my neighbor, we tried the French fries. That sounds dumb, but we were glad we did. They were fried just perfect. Crunchy, not over-done. My son and I ordered tenders and wings with sauce on the side. It was a safe way to try several sauces without getting stuck with something we may not have liked. Both were very good. The breading was well done without being overly thick. But caution....these things are piping hot when they come to the table. Give them a few minutes to cool down or risk burning your mouth. The garlic soy sauce was very good. Their most popular from what I'm told. The smoky bbq is a special one they just came out with. It is very smoky, but good. The red hot pepper looks scary, and is their hottest, but won't kill you. Still packs a punch. And is also a new one not on their menu. We had plenty to take back to the hotel with us. Serving sizes are generous. We were impressed with this place. Service and food were both very good. I've read other reviews that service can be slow sometimes. I can see that may be the case if they are busy. But it was not busy when we went. Maybe 3 tables full. But we noticed they did do a fair amount of take out orders. If you like wings, especially Korean BBQ style, you gotta try this place. We would return if ever to this neck of the woods.

I have eaten CM Chicken in Texas when I was visiting my family and this one in Overland Park was a surprised! I never order the Snow Onion series before and I wanna say it was very delicious! We order our all time favorite Soy-Garlic flavor, the plain one and Red Snow Onion flavor. The Red Snow Onion was super full of flavor. It was so so good, I wish I have try it when I was in Texas!! I'm glad to try it!! The Soy Garlic are still my favorite!!! Hands down to CM Chicken once again for the delicious fried chicken wings!!! We also order fries and tteokbokki. A must try KFC if you love wings with an extra kick of crispiness.

This Korean chicken place was pretty darn good! I had their soy garlic boneless chicken wings and crab rangoons. The crab rangoons were good - inside was flavorable but the outside needed a bit of flavor in my opinion. I am not a sweet and sour person so i don't usually dip my crab rangoons but thought I would give it a try as it was not that typcial looking sticky sweet stuff - it was very tasty! The chicken pieces were of good size - chicken was moist inside and crunchy on the outside. The soy garlic sauce was spicier than I expected - kind of thinking I may have gotten the spicy garlic. Overall great quick take out for a quick tasty bite! I recommend giving this place a try!

Food : everything here taste wonderful. I love the fried chicken with onion on top!!! The onion is perfectly cut and just hits the spot. One order is a lot and can be perfect for two people. Service : I've been here several times and it's a hit or miss. Sometimes service is fast and sometimes can be an hour wait. It really depends how busy it is. The staff is friendly but aren't overly attentive. Parking: Probably the least favorite part of coming here is finding somewhere to park. You literally have to park down a block sometimes.

On a rare visit to south OP last week my wife and I stopped for lunch at CM Chicken. CM is short for Choong Man Chicken; an international chain for Korean Fried Chicken. We both dined from the lunch menu - she having the curry and I having the garlic soy. For $11 it came with 5 large chicken tenders fried perfectly and a side of fries, slaw and drink. Very economical, yet after seeing a table devouring the snow chicken (chicken covered in onions and sauce) I wish I had splurged and spent $17 for that beautiful feast. Zero complaints. Chicken was some of the best tenders I've ever consumed and the slaw was first rate. I would love to see them expand in the KC market and bring one further north or east.

Ddukboki (Korean rice cakes in spicy sauce)

TL;DR: Good Korean fried chicken, but it's important which dishes you order (see guide below) and the service is remarkably slow every time I go. Bad for large groups due to the service speed and how expensive it is to feed lots of people here; great for coming with a good friend you can chat with while waiting. CM Chicken is a chain (similar to Bonchon, BHC, bb.q), but it's a chain where your experience can vary wildly depending on which one you go to because there isn't much regulation in how food is prepared. This particular CM Chicken definitely satisfies my craving for Korean fried chicken, and I love to come here every once in a while to get the Garlic Soy Wings and the Garlic Spicy Wings. Despite that, there are important downsides to this CM Chicken. WAIT TIME First off, the service is slow 100% of the time. It doesn't matter if there are zero takeout orders going out and no one else in the restaurant (a scenario that has happened to me)--the food still takes a good 40 minutes or so to come out. Don't come hungry because it'll happen while you're waiting, and honestly, I wouldn't recommend doing takeout either because the chicken will lose its crispiness as you drive back. This is true for all fried chicken, but especially for Korean-style since the chicken is sauced. WHAT TO ORDER (CHICKEN) If it's your first time and you're not sure what to try: Garlic Soy Tikkudak for those who don't enjoy spice, and Garlic Spicy Chicken if you do enjoy spice. For those of you wondering what Korean fried chicken is, it's a combination of Korean-flavored sauces and food pairings as well as a style of frying chicken. Tikkudak is when chicken is flash fried, then finished in a charcoal oven. The result is smoky, crunchy, crispy fried chicken. If you enjoy the contrast of refreshing onions and fried chicken: Try the Snow Chicken, preferably the original first. The onions are soaked in water beforehand so they're not quite so pungent, and some people really enjoy the combination. Would not recommend this for your first time since people are very divided on how they feel about it. If you like it sweet and spicy: Try the Red Hot Pepper Chicken. The sauce is based off of yangnyeom, which is effectively Korean spicy sweet and sour sauce. There are times when I think the yangnyeom is a little too sweet, so I tend to prefer the Spicy Garlic Chicken instead. I'll still order the Red Hot Pepper Chicken since I love yangnyeom and the tikkudak style of frying chicken, but if you like your sauce on the less sweet side, this may not be for you. If you want to try something new and enjoy spring onions / scallions: Would not recommend for your first time, but if you're feeling adventurous, go for the Lemon Spring Onion Chicken. To me, it tastes like wasabi and fried chicken, with slight notes of sweet from the lemon dressing. Not my favorite, but some people absolutely love it. WHAT TO ORDER (SIDES) CM also offers a variety of sides and drinks. Korea has a strong tradition of eating beer and chicken together. If that's your vibe, go for it. They serve Miller Lite and Bud Lite, which are not universally loved but go well with the chicken. As for the sides like rice, fries, and ddukboki (Korean-style soft rice cakes), I would say the fries are surprisingly good. They're fried fresh in the same oil as the chicken, so they're extra hot and extra crispy, would recommend. The ddukboki is not a good representation of this dish. While the rice cakes are soft and fluffy, the thinness of the sauce makes the dish seem underseasoned when it's not. That, and it wasn't spicy enough for me personally. One side you *should* ask for and I've never been charged for is the white pickled radish. The radish is sour, slightly sweet, and super refreshing. This is always served with Korean fried chicken in Korea and provides a great palate cleanser for fully enjoying your chicken / make the dish feel not so heavy.

Garlic soy gizzard, garlic spicy wings and complementary pickled radishes.

So like Joe K said, it's great to see more Korean chicken places in the Kansas City area. (S)KFC is…read moreamazing - the crispness of the chicken, the fantastic sauces. It's special. I'm excited just thinking about it. But oh man was I hoping for better. And I think this place could get there, if they can change some things. Joyce and Brandy laid it out well, so I'll just echo some main points: - The food could be better. Apparently it has been before. What I saw felt pretty low effort, the crispiness wasn't there. (South) Korean Fried Chicken is amazing because even with those delicious sauces, the chicken stays crispy. Best of both worlds! These wings were soggy. I didn't feel great after eating the meal. It wasn't ideal. - The service was nonexistent. I came up to the human at the counter, who directed me not to talk to her but to put in my order on the screen to the side. I hate these. I hate them so much. The UX on the terminal was clunky, the navigation in particular was so bad that there were whole sections of the menu that seemed to be missing. I now know to swipe left on the headers to scroll right to a second page of root-level categories, but be honest, just reading that in a sentence is confusing and annoying. Some people may like kiosks. That's fine! But mandating them is awkward and obnoxious. - I'm still on the service. There's a big menu. There are paper menus. There are little signs advertising fun looking items. I already know what I want. It is so much easier and more enjoyable to order with a real human and get their help. Why put the added friction of learning a clunky interface? An employee would be fluent in the system even if it's bad. And if my case is any indication, it's not helping their sales. I would totally have ordered more dishes if I'd known that was an option. It just looked like they were out so it wasn't available. - After putting in the order, I was prompted for a tip for the service. Which just felt like a coup de grace to my psyche. - It felt like there was no heart here. That's probably an ownership issue. I'm sympathetic to a point, it's not easy in general and there's a lot of pressure to cut costs (especially with the tariff arsonist disrupting supply chains). But the vibe here was dismal, you could feel it in the food and the staff. The space itself seems set up well to have large groups and good times. Could be a fun spot. But right now, the impression I get is that aside from the wings the kitchen does a lot of prepackaged instant food. So I'm not sure what they're trying to be - a decent wing place, or more of a fast-food/gas station type of spot. A vending machine with a deep fryer. Like I said before, this place has potential to be great if they can change some things. They're just going to have to want to. I'm rooting for them.

Overall - fun and quirky environment with lots of yummy food options…read more Menu: EXTENSIVE menu with lots of options to choose from... to the point that it can get a lil overwhelming. Thankfully most items have a reference picture so it was easier to gauge what you're getting, which I appreciated. I'd recommend getting the Honky Tonky (with bbq sauce on the side) bc it was a perfect balance of salty and sweet. Other burgers were good too (not all were shown n some I forgot the names), so high chance they'll turn out good. Appetizers id recommend (not shown) is the Spare Parts Appetizer that lets you sample a lot. Several were good like the jalapeños n cheese curds. As for the price and portion though, I don't think it was that worth it.... The burgers aren't that big compared to other places and the fries portion was kinda small too. So for the price of $20 after tax, just not worth it. Yummy but I could always get burgers somewhere else too. Atmosphere: if you're into cars, bikes, all the edgy garage and western decor, you'll like this place. It was fun to look around and see how this place was decorated. It can be a lot though. In terms of space wise, lots of rooms and tables around. We had a party of 11 and were thankfully able to make it work on a busy day. Service: our server was chill and patient with us. Felt like our burgers came out at a reasonable timeframe. Summary: was good and even though yummy, probably more of a 1 visit every few months bc the portion to price ratio isnt it imo :( especially if I can get burgers and fries in bigger (n refillable) elsewhere. Would highly recommend trying though!!

Took family there for my grandson's birthday. Loved the theme…read more Started off with happy hour appetizers......tater kegs and two orders of fried pickles, our kids favorite. Tater kegs were good, taste and size-wise. But we wound up hardly eating much of the fried pickles. They were drowned in salt, so much so even the ranch couldn't compensate or cover it up. My wife got the unlimited wings. She tried three different flavor of wings, all very salty to the taste. Sweet Chili, the Popping Pineapple and the Teriyaki. And the teriyaki really didn't taste like teriyaki at all. My daughter had the veggie burger, and she said it was very salty. I ordered the deviled eggs and the jalapeno creamed corn. The deviled eggs were good; filling was a little runnier than I usually like in a deviled egg. The jalapeno creamed corn had some good spice, but another dish that had entirely too much salt in it. When my wife and first got there to get the table for our party, the host asked if we had the app. We did not, he instructed us how to download it, and told us we'd be getting an email for a free burger. He also told us about the 20% off "Vintage" discount for seniors, of which I am one. At the end of our meal, the server (who was really cool, by the way) gave us our bill, which totalled with tax $165 plus some change. I told him I was a senior and wanted the vintage discount. He brought in iPad over, entered a couple things and brought us a new bill. I glanced at it and it said $163 and some change. So I walked after him and asked him if I paid up front and that's where they gave the discount. He said no you pay me and I did give you the discount. Sure enough, on the receipt, it was saying vintage discount......$2.60. Now I use math in my head every day for work as an air traffic controller, so it didn't take me long to figure out $2.60 is WAY BELOW 20% off of $165. I was looking for some fine print somewhere that might explain this particular math conundrum. Couldn't find anything. I was going to find our server or a manager, but the family was ready to go, and since it was a birthday my wife didn't want me to make an issue of it, so we left. Not happy with the liberal usage of salt in everything, and with today's prices, especially not happy with the issue with the discount that was about 18% short. Probably won't be back.

Upon request, our wonderful waitress walked us first-timers through the menu and made some recommendations (spoiler: all were fantastic!). We nabbed a couple appetizers - fries and mac and cheese - and ordered two half chicken servings: one thigh meat, one breast meat. With the chicken we tried four different sauces, and all were fantastic! Our favorites were the spicy sweet chili and the glazed honey soy! The chicken is perfectly fried - super crispy, but still moist meat! They know how to fry up a mean chicken here! We crushed ALL the food, and it was a perfect amount for four hungry people! Although the menu set expectations of the chicken being made fresh and taking up to 20 minutes to cook and arrive, ours arrived much quicker! Props to the cook for the prompt service! Now, with that said, and looking at some of the other reviews comments I do have to say that the disposition of the service folks could take some lessons from this other chicken fast food chain. It was okay service; however given the overall taste and value of the chain I would now put this as my preference for the best chicken tenders that I have had. The service differences are not enough to drive me to the other chain. One other thing. They do have chicken wings. I got one to give it a try. It was okay and I would say expensive for what you get. So, none of their chicken wings for me. Stay with the tenders. My rating is only based on the chicken tenders, not the wings.
