This place was a gem! Everything we ordered was very very good with amazing flavor!! With a party of 7 and no one complained about their food.... That is definitely a win!! Service was very good- we were the 1st ones there when they opened and we didn't have to wait very long for our food to be brought out. The gangnam kfc wing was everyone's favorite with a nice kick of spice. It was perfectly crispy on the outside, juicy inside and flavorful!! Price was a little high IMO but we would be back so we could try other flavors. Place had plenty of seats and it wasn't anything fancy but very clean.

This is the best Korean fried chicken in the KC metro--comes out super crispy, burning hot, and juicy all the way through. The sauce is also less thick than competitors, especially when it comes to the spicy-sweet sauces. That said, CM Chicken is open on Mondays and bb.q isn't. Both are good and satisfy my craving for Korean fried chicken. GUIDELINES Like CM, the wait time is pretty bad even when there's no one else there, so I recommend ordering quickly and showing up earlier than you want to eat. If it's your first time and you like spicy food, try the Hot Spicy Wings or the BB Wings. If you don't like spicy, go for the Soy Garlic Wings. LOCATION AND SUSHI This bb.q is inside the Prime Sushi building, and there are no indicators that the restaurant is shared. Just go in and you'll see the split right away. You're given both menus when you walk in, so you can order from either. I got the Spicy Tuna Roll just to try and was not a fan. The fish was stringy and didn't taste fresh--I'd say order non-fish rolls or stick to the chicken.

What seems like an ever growing number of Korean Fried Chicken options (KFC... forget that U.S. founded joint by that name, eat here) in this area of town couldn't make me happier. BB.Q, stands for Best of the Best Quality according to their web site, has lined up a long list of options of every kind of chicken imaginable. Founded in Seoul, South Korea in 1995, they have a quite large and apparently growing number of restaurants all over the U.S. We opted for small orders of boneless Gang-Jeong and Galbi, both accompanied by small sides of pickled radish, a nice sweet hit to go against the protein and little bit of heat. Crunchy, moist and delicious, we pretty much cleaned our plates. For those coming for the chicken only, know that the outside of the building lists a sushi name but the restaurant appears to be one and the same, just with separate front counters. And I don't know about you, but seems to me this may be the ultimate choice for that weekend Chiefs games right now where you're doing carry-out and eating at home. What's that other place... Water Buffalo Weird Wings? Or something like that. Nah... lousy stuff... stick with this. Or, in case you overshoot the entrances off of Metcalf, you have several options you can quickly drive to instead. Sorry, couldn't resist, but that's a fact and it's a good thing. Would like to return to try a bit more heat though I might try something one pepper lower on their scale from the Wings of Fire. Lots of KFC in south Overland Park. The world is getting better out here.

BBQ Chicken by Prime Sushi, who would have that they'd have fabulous fried chicken? In comparison to their neighbor, CM chicken, this is a very very close second. Big, and juicy pieces, very crunchy, and good flavor. Not as saucy as I would have liked, but still good nonetheless. Take out was quick and painless. I opted for their medium size wings, sauce: wings of fire. Sauce wasn't too spicy, but it was a good medium level for someone who handles spice well.

Pretty good! There's only a few Korean fried chicken (KFC) places in the KC metro and bb.q is one of them. I usually go to a different one but decided to go here as I was craving both sushi and KFC. Service was great. It was pretty busy during dinner time but the servers and even owner did a good job checking in and refilling drinks. Ambiance was just what you would expect for a KFC place. It was busting and cozy. As for the good, their fried chicken is great! The chicken is nicely coated with a crispy batter. I used to prefer CM chicken but now I may prefer bb.q more. I usually get the wings and avoid boneless in fear that it may end up dry... but I was completely wrong. The boneless chicken was juicy and tender. They were decently large in size and the coating (Cheesling) was unexpectedly good. That may be my favorite kind now. Also note that bb.q shares the space with Prime Sushi, so this is a great spot if you have more than one craving. Would recommend!

I have been looking for some really good tteokbokki and this is the closest I've found since moving here from California. When arriving it looks like two restaurants in one. I walked in to pick up my online order and it was nice and hot. I was greeted when entering and given my food pretty quickly. It tasted so damn good! Pretty spicy but delicious! 10/10 would have this again. The only thing is it is kind of pricey.

My new go-to place for korean fried chicken! Ordered medium drumsticks in original, secret spicy (more sweet than spicy), and soy wings. The medium includes 5 large drumsticks and large is about double. Depending on which portion of the chicken you want to order, the sauces differ. They all come with pickled radish which really completes the meal. If you love crispy fried chicken with an asian twist, I recommend this place. They also have sushi! I ordered the combo C that included: rolls, sashimi, and nigiri. All were wonderful and fresh! It's perfect for 2 hungry people. They have wonderful lunch deals, which I will definitely need to check out. The service was good but I went opening day so it got pretty busy real quick during dinner hours. I noticed that they have a lot of carry-out orders, so that's always a good option if the restaurant is too busy. I loved seeing that they have many employees working to make sure they arent understaffed. Had a great first experience and will definitely be back!

Love the radish that comes with the fried chicken!

Atmosphere: clean, busy, and crowded. Not ideal for large groups. Food: the chicken takes awhile, but that's expected for fresh crispy chicken! The fried chicken was yummy! We got a large order of the Secret Spicy Drumsticks, Soy Garlic Wings, and Combo C sushi platter. The Secret Spicy Drumsticks were more sweet than spicy, and the Soy Garlic Wings were more savory than I expected, but nonetheless the chicken was delicious! I wouldn't come back here for sushi. The combo platter was small for $39.99 and of course the sashimi/sushi was not fresh and cut well...it's Kansas, it's expected. Service: they were busy and didn't take orders or water unless you got their attention. It was their first day opening, so it probably was busier than expected and I assume the service will get better. Can't wait to come back for more Korean Fried Chicken!!!

Ok. I am addicted to Korean Chicken Wings. I was addicted to CM Chicken until a friend told me about this hidden gem. It's sign says Prime Sushi but inside has the BB-Q Chicken sign. Way better. The service is way better. The ambiance is warmer. Love this place more. Ate here 3 days in a row.

One of my favorite places for Korean fried chicken! This place sells both Korean fried chicken AND sushi so that means more options on food! I haven't had a chance to try their sushi so my experience is just based on the fried chicken. I just love their fried chicken so much. Perfect level of crispy and saucy. Also juicy. I really like their secret spicy drumsticks. They have a good kick and it's hard to stop eating them. There are more flavors with the wings and I've tried them all. I honestly think they are all my favorites. Like they are incredibly marinated and the flavors are just so amazing. I've tried their sweet potato fries and ddeok bokki sides and I thought their ddeok bokki was spicy. Like I could only eat 2-3 bites and had to stop. But they put a lot of rice cakes, fish cakes in it and I really liked that. It's just I can't handle eating so much of it cause then I'll be drinking too much milk to calm the spiciness. I highly recommend going here. Incredibly nice workers who always greet me and reasonably priced. I get a lot of leftovers so if you have an air fryer, then this place will be perfect so no food gets wasted.

My friend brought these for us to try and they were delicious!! We went back into the store to get the full experience recently too. Ordered the tteokbokki, secret spicy, wings of fire, and soy garlic. All were so good! Service took a little longer, but we also went when it was closer to closing time, and they made the chicken on the spot so it would be fresh when it arrived at our table. I can handle some spice, but not a whole lot. Wings of Fire definitely creeps up on you! Not as spicy as I thought it would be, but the heat picks up the more you eat it. The secret spicy was a perfect spice level to someone who enjoys spicy but doesn't want their mouth to be dying after one wing. And soy garlic is great for those that don't like spicy! All the flavors were great and definitely see myself ordering from bb.q Chicken again!

I think it is original... don't remember the favor name. All I remember is it tasted great.

Not as good as the Korean Fried Chicken at Kobi Q but we still really enjoyed our chicken and it was very affordable.

The tofu was amazing, it had a great light breadcrumb like texture, and was soft and delicious. The chicken wings were great as well, they had a sweet glaze on the outside with a light crunch to the skin. Perfectly cooked! The drinks were a bit hit and miss but I enjoyed the Take Two and the had a nice variety of foreign beers and some good local beers.
