I've been going to this restaurant for more than 10 years now, but never got a chance to write a review. I went to this place with bunch of friends and found that this place is always full with locals which is an amazing sign that their standards that quality has never gone down. Their parking lot always seems to be full such a positive sign, right? I made a reservation and went inside. It's beautiful service of welcoming guest. Was given a table and specials menu, which had amazing options. I chose pastrami with sweet potato fries. I must tell you that my choice was outstanding. It was delicious greasy, and the meat was so tender and flavorful with the mustard sauce. The fries were crispy and soft from inside. The spicy oil was great. A friend of mine took catfish which I felt was great too. It's a beautiful restaurant family owned great ambience very nice service courteous people. Jambalaya was excellent, expected it a little spicier, but it had a good kick to it. When on Christmas Eve and it was busy, but very well staffed and organized. I don't know if it was the crowds or the space at the level of noise was on the higher side . My associate was disappointed that there was no grits and it seems strange like running out of potatoes or rice. Overall great food And will definitely return. read more

The place looks like cozy and inviting restaurant you would love to be able to walk to for dinner once a week. The meals taste scratch! We split the salmon and queso dip. The Apple-Rita was tasty and a cinnamon sugar rim just like I love. The salmon was cooked perfectly and the mashed potatoes were like the best Thanksgiving side with the skins on. Had a great Mother's Day at Nick and Jake's! We tried the Mama's Meatloaf packed with flavor and absolutely delicious. I also had the mango martini, which was strong, sweet, and hit the spot. The Asian chicken salad was fresh and satisfying, but the real finale was the key lime pie perfectly balanced with just the right amount of tartness, sweetness, and creaminess. We tried his location out and the service was generally good. The food, drink, and dessert were also good. I like that they have a good allergens menu on hand with a variety of choices. The place is causal and calm in restaurant area and more lively in the bar. They have some decent happy hour deals and also pretty reasonable prices on a variety of entrees. I was in town and looking for a decent place to eat before we headed home and found this place on yelp. The reviews were good and it was close to the hotel. We got the blackened seared ahi tuna for a started (didn't get a picture because we ate it so fast). It was so incredible!! For lunch, I got the Texas club sandwich and my boyfriend got the French dip. I added avocado to the club sandwich and was absolutely impressed with the sandwich. The macaroni and cheese I selected as a side was creamy and some of the best I've had in a restaurant ever. The French dip was not great but the mozzarella sticks were to die for. It's CLEAR that storing pickles with a sandwich doesn't make sense! The Turkey Melt is toasted, but because of the way the kitchen packages their to-go orders, my sandwich came soggy. And this isn't the first time this has happened! Jennifer - The issue isn't with the sandwich to go itself, as you mentioned. Rather, it's about the pickles (which have pickle juice) being placed right next to the sandwich and fries. I'm unsure as to why they aren't kept in a container, but they should be, without me having to ask. This isn't the first time I've experienced this problem--the sweet potato fries and the sandwich get soggy ONLY where the pickles touch them. The only time this doesn't happen is when the pickles are left out by whoever packages the food. read more

We like Nick and Jake's! Have had good experiences at this location and the Shawnee location. Getting together with a few friends, we were seated at a booth that was accommodating for our group and the service was great. I was tempted by several menu items, but I wound up choosing the catch of the day, their mahi mahi special. Went here for Restaurant week and were so impressed, we ended up coming back a few days later. I definitely misjudged what I thought this place would be like. Their menu is expansive, and their food is very flavorful. They do get busy, so make a reservation if you can. The service was great both times. Awesome club sandwich alert. I occasionally order food to go and I was craving a club sandwich. The Texas club consists of ham, turkey, applewood bacon, lettuce, tomato, mayo, jack, and cheddar cheese. I did ask for the middle piece of bread to be eliminated and I was happy to see it missing. So just know, normally there's 3 pieces of bread. I upgraded my side to a Caesar salad and asked for a bunch of pickles. The salad was delicious. The dressing was super fresh and creamy. I've tried the honey mustard and ranch and all of the dressings hit it out of the park so if you're more of a salad person, I don't think you can go wrong with any of their offerings. The sandwich was also delicious. Lots of meat and cheese. Super filling. I'm definitely going to get one again! read more

My wife placed an online order at about noon, and the order screen indicated it would be ready at 12:21. I drove to the restaurant and parked in one of the take-out spaces, and texted my wife the space number. She texted the space number to the online system, and got a message that said "Invalid selection." At 12:30, the food hadn't been brought out, so she called the restaurant. A young woman rudely told her there was nothing wrong with their online order system, and the food would be brought out "when it's ready." (It should have been ready by then; they obviously lost the order.) At 12:40, I let my wife know the food still wasn't out. She called again, and the same young woman again rudely told her the food would be out "when it's ready." At about 12:55, she stalked out to my car, handed me the bag, and walked away. "Not a word?" I called out through the window. She wheeled around and said, "You didn't say thank you!" I started to reply, "After waiting for -" but she just turned around and walked inside. I have seldom experienced such poor customer service. Nick & Jake's, I won't be back. Your food isn't good enough to justify such poor treatment. read more

The parking is a plentiful situation, but if full, there is strip mall parking out across the street to the rear. Unlike a lot of bar and grill situations, this place has killer food. If you don't opt for the blackened shrimp Mac N Cheese and don't have a shellfish allergy; you're missing out. The buffalo wings are solid. The burgers and salads are also very high quality. Service has typically been good, albeit a bit slow sometimes. Overall, it's a very relaxed type joint that I'd generally recommend for a higher quality meal. read more

We found Nick ans Jake's kind of by accident. It was a happy accident. Very clean and well decorated. Our waiter was quick, friendly and attentive. I had the cheeseburger. It was cooked exactly as I asked and was tasty. My wife got the grilled chicken sandwich and it was at least an inch thick, juicy and nicely seasoned. They are very busy over the lunch hour but the food still comes out in good time. We will likely return sometime. read more

My wife and I ate lunch here yesterday. They had an Oktoberfest special appetizer of Bavarian pretzel, which we ordered. It had three dipping sauces. The pretzel and dips were all very good. She and I had sandwiches for our entrees, which were good. The service was great. And, the atmosphere was good. The only negative I would have is that they had music playing and the sound on one of the TVs. This is a nice "bar/eatery" location with the emphasis on bar. However they do have a good menu with nice options... not just bar food. The atmosphere is nice... kind of rich but comfortable... it is a nice space. Lots of TVs, dim l, but not dark lighting, good open space... and a well stocked bar area. I don't drink anymore but the fact that they had ginger beer available was a nice option. The table ordered the Thai shrimp which is their version of bang bang shrimp. I had a couple and they could of easily been transformed in to more! Kind of wish I had ordered another round they were very good. Light but full of rich spicy flavor. A perfect appetizer! I then had the Irish potato's which was a plate of heart attack served up warm and tasty! Fried potatoes smothered in cheese and bacon with a side of clog your arteries sauce. They were, of course, outstanding... anything this bad for you is always good. The service was good, the venue was very nice, and what I ate was good... this is a great hang out spot. A cool place to unwind after work, meet a few friends, watch some sports, etc. if I lived near here this could easily become my hang out spot. read more

We walked in for lunch and we were quick to be seated. It didn't take long to order, and our food arrived fairly quickly. The wait staff did a great job of keeping our waters filled, and checking in on us. The issues I had with Nick and Jake's are the portion sizes and the loud, screaming children at the table near us. For a large salad at lunch, I would actually have expected a bit of a bigger portion size. The bowl was shallow, and as you can see in the picture, not remotely big enough to be called "large." The salad was delicious though, but for $12, I expected more. The table near us was extremely disruptive to us and everyone around us as we all looked around wondering if someone was going to step in. That did not happen, and in hindsight, we should have gotten the salads "TO-GO." Inside the restaurant was quite loud and just not enjoyable to be in. Don't think we'll be visiting anytime soon. read more
