I've used Two Men and a Truck four times over the years -- including an out-of-state move from…read moreFlorida to North Carolina -- and always had great experiences until now. Unfortunately, my most recent move in September was the complete opposite. The job was quoted for 4-6 hours (a simple 2-bed, 2-bath move about 5 miles away), but it ended up taking over 12 hours. The movers arrived late, spent long stretches of time standing around or disappearing without explanation, and seemed completely unorganized. By the time they left, I was exhausted, frustrated, and completely disappointed. What should have been a routine move turned into an all-day ordeal caused by poor time management and lack of oversight. To make matters worse, after providing a detailed account and requesting a partial refund, my request was denied, despite the obvious inefficiency and lost time. I've always spoken highly of Two Men and a Truck, but this experience fell far below the professionalism and reliability I've come to expect. I'm extremely disappointed and will be reconsidering whether to use or recommend this company again in the future.

I AM SO SORRY FOR THIS LATE & LONG OVER DUE REVIEW I HOPE IT'S NOT TOO LATE!…read more I booked Hornet Moving fairly late in my moving process - barely 48 hrs prior - due to the incredibly convenient, straightforward upfront pricing and direct booking, all on their website (way less of a hassle and much faster than filling out a form and waiting to receive an estimate back, like most others). This was my 8th move in 6.5 yrs and my 7 previous moving experiences were painful for a number of reasons, several of those being due to the moving company/movers booked. I was anticipating this move to match the pain of the previous at minimum, possibly worse, due to other circumstances regarding my moving situation (completely unrelated to my confidence in Hornet Moving or any moving company in general). HOWEVER, to my surprise and relief, this was my best experience with a moving company/movers to date!!!! BIG BIG HUGE SHOUT OUT and THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH TO MY MOVING CREW - JARRETT, ARTHUR, and GUSTAVO!!!! My scheduled moving time was in the afternoon (~1 PM) which Hornet Moving makes it clear that afternoon apts are not guaranteed to start right at 1 PM on the dot and could arrive anytime between 1-4 PM (makes sense and is fair enough considering that the crew is likely coming from another moving job booked for that morning). So I was aware of this and did not expect for them to be on time given that there's only so much within their control there. But they WERE on time!!! By the time they got parked where they needed to, unloaded their supplies, and started the moving for my apt unit belongings on the 4th floor and also my remaining storage unit items on the 1st floor, commuted to my new place (about a ~4-5.5 mile trip depending on route, typically between ~10-20 mins depending on traffic/time) and unloaded everything (while also having to rearrange boxes and misc. furniture I had already brought over that were in the way of unloading everything else), they were 100% finished and had already left the driveway before 4:30 PM!!! They also boxed my 65" TV and my 75" TV (which I had saved the original boxes for). I found Hornet Moving from using Google's "AI Mode" to search for movers that handled TVs, including TV mounting service, and options with upfront pricing and/or direct booking entirely online. Hornet Moving came up as a result checking all those boxes!! I found out once the movers arrived that TV mounting is not a service Hornet Moving directly provides as part of the moving job, however, that ended up working out fine since I wasn't able to have my TV mounted at that time anyway due to some electrician work that was not yet complete. Several large and heavy pieces of my furniture are considered "particle board" / -related material items, which are easily damaged during moves due to durability (my previous move before this resulted in almost all of my stuff getting damaged, chipped, scratched, dented, etc. in one way or another due to the movers not wrapping these items well, or at all, and that was during a move within the same apartment building from one unit to another - so none of these items were loaded into a moving truck and/or commuted, yet they still got damaged due to carelessness ). I worried about those items this time around, but Hornet Moving wrapped my furniture properly with TLC and handled everything with the utmost care!!!! All of my belongings made the move safe, sound, and undamaged‼‼‼ Again, best moving experience I've had!!!!! The crew and company was great and easy to work with from start to finish. The online booking process is wonderfully easy and convenient, and they were incredibly prompt and responsive with their communication. 0 complaints to be found, even if I wanted to look for something to nitpick!!! I would highly, HIGHLY recommend Hornet Moving and I would absolutely use them again in the future!!!!! THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOOOUUUU again to JARRETT, ARTHUR, and GUSTAVO!!!!!!

That prompted me to make sure I had left a review, which looks like I didn't, so here I am. The owner, Ted, is an Air Force veteran, and his discipline really shows in his moving company as well. Everything him and his crew moved for me made it in perfect condition with no dings to the walls or doors. I also really liked that when we made it to my new place, we went through the condo and gave each room a name. So as the crew brought boxes and furniture in, I simply had to tell them which room to put it in. They even helped me assemble the furniture and centered everything. Which, I'm a stickler for, so the centering was much appreciated. High quality service, well thought out process, and reasonably priced.

On move day, as I had requested, Ted texted me 30 minutes in advance that he was en route. Ted and his 2 helpers, Vlad and Jeremy, showed up on time and started work as soon as I parked and opened the door of the truck. Ted brought all the required equipment (dollies, carts and a handtruck + straps for the mattress) and even provided a battery-operated fan for me to use while I waited on the back of the truck (to keep an eye on all of the stuff), where temperatures in the summer can exceed 100 degrees. That fan kept me cool throughout the move. Ted and his helpers worked very hard for 4 hours to get all of the items into the elevator and up into the apartment. They honored my requests and never once complained about any aspect of the job, including an additional 150-foot walk across the parking garage no one knew about. Everyone was professional, friendly, and very easy to work with. I am happy to report that all items made it safely into the apartment. Ted, Vlad and Jeremy made sure to unwrap all of the items, place them where requested, and to put all of the boxes in the specific room marked on each box. They also re-assembled a table and removed all of the tape from the moving blankets. It was a stress-free experience from start to finish. If you're in the Charlotte area and looking for professional, affordable movers with a great attitude and work ethic, don't hesitate to call Ted. I had a 5-star experience and have no doubt you will as well. Thanks again to Ted, Vlad and Jeremy for doing a fantastic job.

I asked their driver nicely to back his truck up since we have 2 cars parked at our residence and I needed to go to work in a bit. He moved it and sat there glaring at me. I walked back inside and 5 minutes later my wife was going out with the kids to the Y and I saw on my camera he drove it forward blocking her from backing up. I came back out and the assistant mover stated "When are you leaving!?" Well for starters, that is not their problem to know what our schedules are. He then started using profanity, disregarding the fact that my children were right there. I started recording the incident on my phone and the driver told him to move the truck back forward to block my driveway. I had to call the company to get this resolved by letting them know I was going to call the HOA tow company. This is a horrible way for a neighbor to be introduced into the community as he has nothing to do with their unprofessional demeanor and disregard for using profanity in front of kids as well as disregard for neighbors property to wherever they will move your belongings. I will never use this company and warn others also not to. There are other moving companies with employees that have far more integrity than them and do not act in a reckless manner like this.

Unprofessional behavior from movers…read more This was a terrible and traumatic experience! I hired this company's service on October 22, the last week. I moved from Ballantyne, NC, to South Park, NC. They didn't complete the move until the next day. They had to return to the residence because they lost the hardware from one bed. Also, they left items without wrapping. The next day, when they came back, once they had installed it, one of the guys asked for pay, and my card was declined because of my change in the zip code. There were three workers here, and there was no supervisor. Ok. So, when my card was declined, I called my husband, and he tried to give them a credit card number over the phone. They could not take that, and they became hostile. The guy insisted that he wanted the card physically. So, they said my husband needed to come here and give them the card. He was at a job site and could not leave. So, the guy started yelling at me and threatened to take my stuff. He walked room by room, looking at what he could take. They were three guys against two women. I said to the guy to leave my house. He refused to leave because he wanted to take my stuff, so I ran to the door to stop him from taking my belongings. My cousin called my husband, crying and looking at the situation. The guy was trying to intimidate me, so I called the police, and he decided to leave, but I stopped him because he had taken my stuff and was waiting for the police. The guy was out of control. My husband talked to the owner, and he told him to leave. We paid the bill for the move on Saturday morning, which was over $5000. I feel now traumatized by the situation. I feel like I was assaulted in my own house. You know how much stress it is to move from one place to another and care about your belongings. That's because we hired a service that says it is " professional." That was a big mistake; they are not what they say. For this horrible experience, I never recommend this company.
