I had contracted with CMR for a roof replacement due to Hurricane Ian storm damage in 2022. I paid them a $4,000 deposit and my insurance company gave them an additional $3,000 upon review of their bid. They were unable to get my duplex mate to sign on with them after several months passed and my HOA would not allow a 1/2 roof replacement. In June of 2023 I began requesting a refund and here we are in February of 2024 and no meaningful response. Their game appears to put me on a rotating customer service rep cycle. I am on my 4th one now. Never any satisfaction from any of them and I can tell when I will soon get a new one because their telephone mailbox goes full and I get ghosted. Do yourself a big favor and avoid these people. You will NOT be happy with the way you are treated. You will be unable to speak to anyone who matters. I was also not surprised to call numbers associated with CMR in Bonita Springs and Naples Florida only to find they were no longer in service. Warning!!!!!!!! The roofers finished my work and left everything on my property.. as a single mother at 9:30 at night, I hear a big crash and boom, and I go out there to see two of the workers that I really could not even identify crashing around in my yard trying to collect their items again at 9:30 at night when I told them to come in the morning (in clear Spanish, since they pretend they do not speak English )and told them to get off my property, they proceeded to call me the B word in Spanish, and instead of leaving they continue doing what they were doing... I continue to speak to them in Spanish, telling them to leave and come back in the morning because my child is sleeping inside and I do not feel safe at all... Unfortunately, I had to call the police on them and file a report and only in that moment, did they decide to speed away then somebody shows up this morning , and collects materials, but leaves a huge pile of trash, all belonging to them. When I came outside and pointed to the trash and ask if they were going to take what they left here they sped out of the driveway in reverse. I would be very shocked. If the gentleman that were here last night were not drunk or on drugs, they could barely even get in or out of the driveway and me and my daughter were sleeping in my bedroom and see big huge truck lights in my window, and I almost had a heart attack... Do not use this company whatever you do. On top of it, I had a car battery that I was going to return way far away from their work, and it somehow magically, got into their pile of stuff which I had to take away! Any company that has men come to a home with no phone call at 9:30 at night. It's not a company that anybody should ever do business with. And just so you guys know a lot of people speak Spanish. We can understand everything that you are saying.. completely inappropriate to call a scared out of her mind mother the B word, because I'm begging you to get off of my properties. I do not know these men and I felt extremely uncomfortable and unsafe with two men yelling back at me and refusing to leave my home at 9:30 at night. If this company rings your doorbell and solicits you for the contract to replace your roof, LOCK your door and order them off your property. This is the sorriest excuse for a company I have ever seen. They agreed to do my roof over a year ago and ripped my roof apart and took my gutters down over 6 months ago, and have not come back to finish my roof since. They do not answer their phones, they use an answering service, and will not return your calls. I have filed a complaint with the BBB however in its response it lies and makes false statements. That complaint is still open. I have also filed a complaint with Florida DPBR as well as Palm Beach County PZB Investigations Department. Worst roofing company ever! This began in Fall 2022, from the point of the "no solicitation" warning to them and a speech from a persistent salesman ending with "Tasman" entered our community and assured us that our 25 year old roof is in dire need and your roof tiles are discontinued. There were red flags everywhere during this lengthy and bitter process. CMR initially attempted an insurance claim with our homeowners who rejected them initially, then on the 2nd attempt, an insurance liason attorney stepped in, settled with them on a huge amount, more than twice the cost of an actual roof replacement and took our initial deposit. In Fall 2023, we then received an insurance notice of non-renewal saying either you replace your roof, or we drop you as long time customers for good. Little did we know until we researched further, their BBB rating sunk down to Revoked F in early January 2024 plus numerous complaints (hundreds of them). This particular BBB profile obviously had been cleaned out. Numerous run-arounds with many CMR personnel, empty promises, exaggerated claim amount given by their attorney for a huge settlement and paperwork sent to us to have our approval on placing our property on lien just in case CMR could not pay for their workers. Nooooo!! After hearing many other complaints about roofwork not done, we could not go forward. So our deposit is lost because this is their so-called 25% cancellation fee. We went to another roofer who did our rooftop within 2 months of signed paperwork. Don't bother with this dishonest, insurance scammer! Not even one star if that was an option. This is the worst, most unethical company I have ever been involved with! Have ABSOLUTELY NO CARE after they make you sign the AOB. They don't return calls, emails, or texts, if they do, they bounce you around several people in circles, not getting any answers. They don't send documentation to insurance. I was overcharged for tarps. They came back 3 times to fix them, and I finally had to pay another vendor to redo them. Moreover, the roof is ruined because it was nailed down instead of using the proper procedure. CMR has hurt me, my family, and my business financially, even more, important emotionally. Hurricane Ian was devastating enough to then go deal with a company without scruples. I gave them 4 properties and they have done basically nothing other than tell me that somebody would call me back. One of the AOB was canceled by them due to a date issue. Do you think they even communicated this to me? I just learned that UPC, who insures my home, is on the border of collapsing. CMR has made me waste so much time, hope to still be able to get a check from UPC to fix my home. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!! Received settlement check from insurance company in September 2022. Worked with Katrina McGhee in Naples toward getting a new asphalt shingle roof. It is now almost April 2023 and still waiting on CMR to show up and replace my roof. The permits were finally issued in January 2023 and have been posted on garage since 01/19/23...starting to fade out. Many of my neighbors have since got new roofs with no problem...they did not deal with CMR. Also, when you call CMR or e-mail them they will not respond. I am about ready to take legal action against CMR. It has been a disaster working with this company. Word of advice...do not use CMR Roofing. read more

Company comes around during storms with young fellas offering free roof inspections. I guess this is a positive side of the story as is if they really found damage to my roof I wouldn't know otherwise. They go offer their "Program to get your roof paid at no cost to homeowners". This is where the problem starts. You will sign a contract that say that you will pay them 25% of any money you receive regardless if you contract them for the work. Once you sign they recommend their partner lawyers and start the process of law suit. In my experience CMR went MIA after that. They called me once in a while to give me a worthless "update" telling me the same thing I got from the lawyers days or even a week earlier. BTW the law firm will tell you they work for you and not CMR, Many times the lawyer stated that communication with CMR "is very bad" and asked me to attempt to reach out to them myself too. They never responded to messages or calls. For the 1 or 2 that they responded it was after a week of continuous calls and messages. ~3 years went by with 2 scary hurricane seasons. Since neither I nor the attorney could get a hold of CMR to discuss how much they were willing to take for the repairs, I had to accept a settlement amount based on another roofer's estimate (2x lower than CMR). Once the settlement was done and the check was in process, CMR started to call and email me very often, I wish they were like that during the process and not leave me to dry. I 1000% regret having bump into CMR. Worse experience ever. read more

And my contract stated to keep my accordian shutters on the windows. Must be patient with CMR, and, must work through their main contacts. Here is why: They do not answer your calls, emails, or texts once the work is done. From the time I met the roofing sales rep for CMR to completion of the roof replacement was over a year. Their was never any communication initiated by CMR once I signed the contract. I had to constantly reach out to them to get any answers or action, and frequently many, many times to get any response. The actual workers have been very professional but working with sales and upper management is very difficult. During the 12 months from stripping to tile installation inspection, there were several leaks which caused ceiling damage. The leaks were repaired but they did not want to accept responsibility for ceiling damages. Also, during installation, tile fragments damaged our pool screen requiring major rescreening which they do not want to accept responsibility for. Future contracts should include holdbacks for potential damages which in my case have totaled over $5k. read more

CMR Construction & Roofing received my insurance proceeds of $23,557.77 on August 22, 2022. Nothing was done on my roof until October 27, 2022. That day, a crew was dropped offer without a supervisor and unable to communicate in English. They proceeded to removed the shingle roof, on the salt-box side exposing 2 1/2" wormy cypress which formed the interior ceiling of my home. Roof debris poured into my house. We contacted Brad Meany and insisted on plywood and insulation being installed before any further work was done. 1/2" plywood was installed on top of the 2 1/2" cypress board, using a nail gun and 2 3/8" nails so they protruded into the ceiling of my house as well as the soffits and fascia. They then put on underlayment, without informing us of the roof condition and that structural integrity of the roof needed repair/replacement. They intended to simply cover rotten, termite damaged roof. We have requested the underlayment be removed so we can assess the condition and correct it. There has been no activity, except emergency repairs due to leaks around the chimney and skylights, and on June 30, 2023, the ceiling of my bathroom collapsed-and I didn't hear from them for 5 days with no resolution. So 11 months they've had the money, and for 9 months I had no roof. Finally after speaking to an attorney I learned that I needed to "mitigate my damages," and hired another roofer. read more

We had our roof redone with CMR right after Hurricane Irma. They were quick, accommodating and responsive and had our roof finished within a few months after the storm. However, since then, we have been dealing with a leak in one area of the roof. They have come several times to try to find it and fix it. I realize that it is not an easy task, to find out exactly where the water is coming in. The issue now is, that they are no longer willing to fix it under warranty, because of Hurricane Ian. Apparently, that storm abolishes all warranties on roofs???? This leak was there BEFORE Ian. Ian only downed a few leaves, not even branches, in our neighborhood. While I praised CMR in the past, I am not very disappointed with their service. read more

CMR employee Robert Carlin came to my door unsolicited, wanting to inspect my roof for damage. I assured him I had no leaks or other problems associated with a damaged roof. I live in a duplex, so my neighbors and I share a roof. One of their men was inspecting my neighbors' roof and came walking on my roof after I told them not to. They sent me pictures of 2 missing tiles on the ridge line and a few cracked tiles. Robert told me I needed a new roof and his partner would get back to me with a price. He never did. I subsequently engaged a licensed roof inspector to come and take a look at the roof. He inspected both mine and my neighbors' roofs and told us they were both solid and did not need to be replaced. He said the missing and cracked tiles should be easily replaced for a few hundred dollars. These people are very slippery and dishonest. read more

If I could, I would give them zero stars. We settled with our insurance company for a new roof from Irma. We signed contracts with CMR in May of 2022 and ordered our tile. They didn't place the order for our tile until July. At that point in time, they had $40,000 of our insurance money. We were told it would be a 4 month delivery. We are now in month 9 and we still don't have our tile. Our tile order was finally released from the manufacturer (Westlake Building Supplies) on 3/8, but CMR's tile distributor (ABC Supply) won't release the tile to them (I assume because they are not paying their bills on time). We contacted the supplier and they won't let us pay for the tiles to have them delivered. ABC Supply says they cannot discuss anything about CMR with us. In the meantime, we have been without a roof for 5 months (only a membrane). ABC made us place a new order (they wouldn't let us have the tiles that CMR ordered in July) which might take another 8-10 months to get. I am beside myself. And now, CMR is not getting back to us. read more

Long story short Mr. Clouchete, Esquire handled the case all the way to a mediation hearing in which a fair settlement was reached, and Mr. Knowles is in the process right now of installing a new roof for my mom. I can not thank both Mr. Clouchete and Mr. Knowles enough for all their hard work and help in making this happen for my mom. She was in tears when I told her she won the mediation hearing and they made the insurance company do the right thing! read more

All I can say is to STAY AWAY from this company. They replaced my roof last year and it was a nightmare. They paid a referral fee to anyone that recommended them. It just so happened that a neighbor recommended them, so I used them! - That should have been a red flag right there! It took them months to begin the job. They gave me an outrageous quote. They were trying to incorporate my lanai frame, screens, gutters, ceiling damage, etc. all caused by a hail storm a few years back. Needless to say, I told them that the roof was all I was looking for. They told me I would need my gutters replaced as well - we just bought them the year before. Once they began the roof, there was another set of issues. My husband and I actually saw a guy slide off our roof, in the morning when the tar paper was on it. He fell, feet first, onto our outside air conditioning unit. Needless to say, he did not get hurt. He got right back up and continued working. He did however land on our AC hose outside, which is attached to our copper piping in the attic for the freon, which moved the pipe up to the roof line. Their workers put the tar paper on the roof and left it for a few weeks. When they came back, they started shingling the roof. One side of the roof was done nicely, however, the other side of the roof had "wrinkles/ripples" throughout. It looked hideous. After our complaints, they ripped all the shingles off of the one side, per my husband's insistence. They, initially, intended on fixing areas and not the entire disaster that they had caused! As soon as they were finished, our air conditioner went off! I immediately went outside and told them. The project manager said that it was just a coincidence. We NEVER had any issues with our AC until then. They left and we called an Air Conditioner contractor that we knew. He came over and showed us exactly where they punctured the copper pipe with a nail from the nail gun - causing all the freon to seep out! We called CMR and they reluctantly said they would send an AC guy out to fix the problem, but it was coming out of their pocket and they should not be responsible for it because our piping was not where it was supposed to be in the attic. - The reason why the pipe was up by the roof line was because THEIR worker jumped on it when he fell off the roof. They did have it fixed, but as I said before... reluctantly. Now, the following year and after the hurricane (Ian), a piece of the ridge vent blew off our roof, leaving our house exposed to the elements. - It is funny how all the other homes in our complex, that got new roofs last year, did not have any issues with their roofs. The only houses that did, were 3 that were done by CMR!!! I had them over to assess the damage and they told me that it would be $350.00 and that we need to tarp the roof immediately or it will be exposed to the elements if we should have rain. They sent me a contract to sign, agreeing to the $350 price and asking for a check upfront. To date, I signed the contract and will give them the check when and if they get here. They are crooks. This is just part of what we went through with them. I can go on and on with more... My advice is to avoid them at all costs. read more

My nightmare began with this Company on Nov. 11 when I came out of Home Depot to find a note on my car to call Joyce and the entire driver side of my 2020 Tiguan was dented and scratched. The driver drove away, per usual, never to be held accountable. I called Joyce, who is in Texas and is the HR Director, and seems to be very cantankerous and leads me into a roundabout conversation making out that I should feel appreciative that the driver left a note at all. After multiple back and forths, where Joyce made crystal clear that the company was paying cash to fix my car and would not rent me a car while it was in the repair shop, even though their driver was at fault, I had no other option but to go with my car Insurance and let them deal with Joyce. I am on the do not call list and they keep calling. Then a guy knocks on my door telling me I have a few cracked tiles and they could get me a new roof and they're working in the neighborhood. When pressed, he admitted not this neighborhood. He had no brochures or ID other than a T-shirt with the company name on it. And when I went out with binoculars I could not find the cracks in my roof he had mentioned. Stay FAR away from CMR Construction and Roofing. They are a SCAM! They will tell you they can get you a new roof, will submit the insurance claim for you, and all you have to pay is the deductible from the insurance settlement. They say...you are getting a brand new roof for pennies on the dollar! Sounds great, doesn't it? Well is not, it's a SCAM. What CMR will not tell you when you sign up with them, they will take your ENTIRE settlement check! That's right, no matter how much you get for your claim they will take it all and smugly say they deserve it for "all they did for you" . They will never give you and estimate for the cost to replace your roof, either before or after the claim is settled. They will say "you don't need an estimate...the insurance claim adjuster's settlement document IS the estimate...we use the same software they use to generate the estimate". Now, in my case the settlement check was $85,000. I got 3 estimates from reputable roofing companies in my area to replace me roof, and all three averaged around $35k. That's what a reputable company with good business ethics would charge...but not CMR!!! No No No, they will TAKE the entire claim of $85K, still demand you paid them the deductible ($9000 in my case), and sub contract out the job to another roofer to throw a crap roof on, pay to sub-contractor like $30K to do the job, and pocket the rest of the settlement claim, in my case $64,000! In any other roofing universe, this extra money would be yours to keep .do more repairs to your home, etc. But CMR will tell you "you cannot keep the excess money, you are not allowed to "profit" from a insurance settlement claim". While this statement is correct, in this case that is absolutely a lie! The settlement is YOUR money!!! It's what they paid to make you whole to satisfy your damages to your property. If you do your due diligence and can get all the repair work done or less than your settlement amount, that extra is YOURS to keep, period...end of story. But you won't have to worry about any of that if you sign up with CMR, they will take all the money off your hands so you'ill not have to worry about such silly things. PLUS, they will proclaim you should be thankful to them for all they have done...and also tell all of your friends about them and what great guys they are! So here is the bottom line, if you need a new roof and want a company to "help" get your claim for a new roof, charge you $94,000 for a roof you should have only paid $30,000 for, only get a 5 year workmanship warranty when most others will give you 10 years, and help to contribute to the reason we are all paying super high insurance homeowners premiums, then CMR Construction & Roofing are your guys!. If you do sign up with these lying, underhanded, misleading, unethical and immoral people don't say that I didn't warn you! For the life of my, do not know how they are able get away with it all. I hope some good and hungry lawyer is out there and will read this, and launch a class action lawsuit against these scam artists! read more

Hire this company and you will get unprofessionals, mostly day laborers not suitably dressed or trained, performing half-assed work and leaving the job site each night looking like a third world dump site! Trash strewn around lawns, no dumpster-they use an open landscape trailer, and the obese supervisor sits in her beater car with the front bumper tied on, smoking and looking at her cellphone all day. Plastic bottles and trash litter the lawn, and they obviously don't know that sprinklers come on in the morning, soaking the plywood they left all over the grass, ready to go on the roof the next day- wet and warping, ready to mold up under the tyvek! They use hammers -no nail gun or compressor-and blowers on the roof! Absolutely no safety equipment for their workers, either. Blowing nails all over the street for the neighbors to run over, while trash blows over to the neighbors' lawns. Not to mention the leaking oil from their trucks staining the street, and no building permit in sight. This is the absolute worst roofing company I've ever seen, and we know what pros look like! The first day, the workers looked like they were picked up on a corner, in short pants, sneakers, and t-shirts in the roasting Florida heat. They obviously couldn't complain about it, and after watching them slave away for 12 hours, we called security and ended their day for them at 7:00 pm. They started work at 7:00 am. Someone should investigate this company for their labor practices and sloppy, unprofessional manner. They threw a plastic tarp, unsecured, over the bare roof, and left. They brought in a roofing company from Michigan to replace our tile roof. Obviously had never installed a tile roof before. After more than a year and failing three inspections, they finally got it to the point where it would pass inspection but many cosmetic issues remain. Recommend you avoid this company and save yourselves a massive amount of grief and frustration. read more
