I called to book the appointment the day before, the receptionist was really friendly. They were full up for same day massages but she got me in for the next day. Time's usually start at quarter to the hour. A 1 hour massage was $84. including tax, so not bad. When I showed up I told the massage therapist about my back injuries from previous car accidents and she checked out my back, the way I stood and looked at my hips. She told me she'd focus on those areas, my hamstrings, my lower back, my hips, my upper back and shoulders. When she started she putting a heating pad on my lower back to warm it up and moved it around through the massage. It was really nice to get the areas I needed fixed focuses on. Sometimes when you go for a massage they spend so much time doing a full body relaxation massage that you don't end up getting your back worked on enough. Overall it was a great experience and I'll definitely come back.

It was so refreshing to visit a physiotherapist who actually adjusted the routine to each individual person. Panther Sports Medicine has many locations across the city, but we were lucky enough to attend the clinic with the owner of it all, Scott. He was such a pleasure to be around too. He would talk to me while poking and prodding, and make jokes to keep me comfortable. I could tell that he really knew what he was doing. Perhaps it was because of all the letters and titles after his name! I was glad that after leaving the friendly environment of Life Mark, Panther showed me the same enthusiasm whenever I visited. The girls at the front desk were always happy to see me and remembered me by name, first and last. They actually let me take home and keep a book I was reading while having physio. I completed my physio before I could finish the book, and they said no one else had touched the book in years, so I could have it. It was fantastic. What cuties! The quality of service at Panther was exceptional. They first did an initial assessment to see where my problems areas were and went from there. I still got the heating pad (and a little nap) every time I went in, but they did so much more to my body. I had acupuncture and intramuscular stimulation, as well as full use of an exceptionally equipped gym. Panther provided regular reports to my insurance company, so they could keep their files up-to-date on my recovery as well. Not only was the treatment phenomenal, but so were the people! Panther Sports Medicine should be a top choice for physical analysis and treatment. If he should move to another clinic, I would immediately drive to that clinic for treatment. I have been going to Darcy for the last 5 years. I sustained a serious injury in a motor vehicle accident and though I have chronic pain from it, regular physio helps keep me moving and allows me to do things that I otherwise would have a hard time doing - specifically my love of running LONG distances. When I told Darcy that I wanted to run a marathon, he kept me going and provided me with feedback on what types of training would be best for my body. He's excellent with all types of patients and is realistic about what will work best given your particular situation. He IS a Canucks fan though and he does give me a hard time about the Flames. Sometimes I let him get away with the trash talk, let's be honest, the Flames make it hard to defend them on occasion. I should also mention that the rest of the staff are excellent as well. The other individuals that assist throughout the course of my treatment are efficient and pleasant. 17/30

I have been to a couple Chiropractors prior and was skeptical he could help my chronic back pain. Shortly after seeing Darren, I am SOLD and have become a life-long client. Dr. Yick is very prudent and results orientated. At my initial consult, he carefully walked me through his process and fully explained why I was having back problems. He also gave me several tips to prevent future issues. He is highly knowledgeable in his profession and uses multiple techniques to help his patients where most physicians repeat the same treatments over and over expecting results. Dr. Yick sincerely cares about his patients and their well-being. He will NEVER treat you like a 'number'. He also advises his patients not to see him unless they really need treatment. He was patient and caring, explaining everything in an unhurried manner as he treated me, and allowing my husband to video the maneuvers so he could replicate them afterward. He also provided me with exercises to continue the treatment at home. I felt much better after my session and continued to improve in the days after. I highly, highly recommend Dr. Hoover. He did a wonderful job, he did thorough assessment to find the root cause of my pain , then he did dry needling , it immediately relieved my pain going down to my arm and hand. With help of TENS machine and hot packs it relaxed my neck muscles , he did manual therapy to release the tension in my neck within 3 visits . Then he provided with me some exercises which was very easy to follow and remember and very effective at same time . I am still doing it at home. The physio therapists (Siobhan, Lori, and Jennifer) have all helped me out! I'm impressed that they are up to date on new techniques - I've even had acupuncture as a treatment for my twisted ankle. They are all professional, and great at listening to address the specific issue. What I like the most is that they're great at focusing on improving the issue, but also suggesting preventative maintenance and/or strengthening exercises so that the injury will not happen again. Jennifer was especially helpful after my motor vehicle accident and assisted with all the paperwork to ensure I could focus on getting better. I also received massage therapy treatment at the same time. It was great to have the physio and massage therapists at one clinic who were both familiar with my situation. I currently see Michelle for massage therapy - she is punctual and always inquires how much pressure to apply. The admin staff are wonderful at accommodating my schedule when I call in for an appointment - thanks! THE Downtown Sport Clinic is excellent, as they really care about their patients.
