We stopped by Lucille on the night of July 4th with some friends. It was pretty empty around 10:30 PM. Lucille is another one of the places that I'll make an exception for and makes me still love the original concept of what Rainey Street was meant to be. This is a late review since I'm going to mentioned the Christmas season but I'm going to anyway because: 1) I'm super behind on my reviews and always playing catch up; 2) the holiday drink menu was good and 3) the holiday decor made the experience better. There were four of us and it was pretty early in the evening so we got in and the bar was pretty empty but still lively. We got to the bar and was handed a menu with a lot of specialty holiday themed cocktails which I didn't like and I was prepared to eye roll my entire time until-wait, what's this? A shot whiskey and Lone Star? Done The staff were pretty great and even though my drink choice was a little more straightforward the other choices were made well. We stopped into Lucille while checking out Rainey. Most of the indoor tables were taken so we hung out on the back patio for a bit. The outdoor fans were nice as it was pretty hot while we were there. The music was blasting kind of loud and we were the only people out on the patio, but I'm sure this place gets busy later at night. It was just a little over the top for what we were looking for - it was nice to explore Rainey during the day when it wasn't too wild! I had one of the specialty cocktails, the El Jefe Loco margarita, which is a jalapeno margarita. It was tasty and nicely balanced, and something I'd order again. Nate got a beer that he liked. I've made 3 trips in 2 weeks. Love the decor and the outdoor patio is large and amazing. Perfect to just sit and relax, or party it up. Plenty of seating options and photo-op areas. A bit pricey but a great open area to hangout for the evening. In the middle of Rainey Street is Lucille. It's pretty wide open here for large groups. Drinks are a bit steep and oddly priced. We got a Special Tea for $13.85 and a Kona Big Wave for $6.48. Not sure who decided those prices but with a card obviously it doesn't matter. We weren't here very long because there were a lot of people by the time we made it here and it was hard to navigate. Ciara looked busy behind the bar though, so my wife and I only got a moment to chat! read more

I visited Lucille's on a Friday night as part of a friend's event and loved that the bar was decorated for the holidays! Right away, we decided to go to the bar to get ourselves drinks as it was extremely crowded and we thought it would take awhile. Much to my surprise, the bartenders were working very quickly to take orders and get people their drinks... it took no time at all! Throughout the night, my group ordered/ tried a variety or drinks which was especially fun as they have a seasonal menu. I tried the "Apple Sauced" which is hot apple cider with rum and it was tasty but very strong tasting! After that, I went to the more basic drinks/ cocktails which weren't worth mentioning. One fun thing this bar does though is that they offer a drink/ shot combo which is a pretty good value if you happen to like the beer and liquor selected. Fun little bar to stop at on Rainey! We came by on Halloween weekend so they had some fun drink specials, as well as a happy hour deal. All the bartenders were kind and patient with our large group - plus fun to talk to! The decor was fun for the holiday, plus the outdoor space was well decorated too! We found Lucille while looking for a safe, outdoor spot on Rainey St on a Monday night! Their patio is quite expansive and has all the trimmings-- heaters, TVs/speakers, neon lights, and HAMMOCKS. I can imagine those are quite fun on a summer Saturday! Their cocktail options made it hard to choose where to start. My group tried the secret garden, sweet tea, rose-jito, and wasabi Bloody Mary. I am not a huge Bloody Mary gal, but my friends were totally sold! I personally was obsessed with the rose-jito! It was such an easy sipper, but the secret garden was great too! Not quite as crowded as other spots on Rainey street, and they have a huge indoor and outdoor area that makes it easier to find a quiet spot. The front lawn is a great spot to settle-in and peoplewatch. Nonetheless, it can be quite overrun on weekends; it feels like being at a festival. Most of the chairs and surfaces are pretty sticky from all of the spills. The drinks themselves are pretty watery and quite expensive (about $15 per drink currently, before tip). Awful!!!! The bartender with the pink strips in her hair was extremely rude to me and my friend and got several of her other customers to harass us. Definitely one of the more relaxed bars on Rainey St. - maybe not your spot if you came to dance, but good for a convo or hammock swing. Lots of outdoor space, and they have games as well like corn hole and jenga! Wasn't too crowded - which is always nice if you need a break from one of the more packed spots. Their water cooler was readily available and not empty - which is always appreciated. Had a lemon drop shot, and the bartender did a great job - no complaints. This cute intimate bar is located on Rainey Street. The ambiance is really nice. The bartenders are good at what they do. My prickly pear margarita was a hit. Service and conversation was both great they do not serve food but they do not have a problem with you coming inside to eat you food from one of the many food trucks outside and having a drink as well. Dang, every bar on Rainey street gets better and better! We were very impressed with Lucille's. They have a big bar that takes up nearly the entire width of the inside, and lots of indoor seating as well. The patio out back is where the fun's at! This tree-shaded area has multiple tables and games including a large connect four board. There's also lots of places for photo ops with the cliche signs hung up on the fences. And by the way, if the wait at the bar inside is too long, there's one out back so just keep movin! read more

We stumbled in here on Sunday afternoon while walking down Rainey and I'm so glad we did. The pianist from Pete's was playing out back, lots of singing and some dancing. Lucille is the name of B.B. King's guitar! This Rainey Street bar is a fun joint to rock out at. There's all kinds of cool stuff that goes on here. There's a stage in the rear of the building where bands come jam out. The outdoor seating area that surrounds the stage makes for cool places to relax. The outside bar is a fun place to get something good to drink. Service is fast and prices are somewhat reasonable. The interior bar is a bit more stuffy, if you ask me. The long bar offers patrons good places to belly up and grab a cocktail or just a beer. The whole building seems to have been someone's house at some given time. Everything is made of wood. They had a photo booth out back, where you could get something to memorialize your trip to Lucille. It wouldn't be complete without one. The patio is one of the best on Rainey Street to hang out under, there's lots of shade and the music is funky! Nobody seems to mind if you go let out a hearty yeeeeehaw around here! Go nuts! read more
