C.O. Bigelow is hands down my favorite pharmacy--for both myself and my pets. Beyond its excellent service, regal atmosphere, and better-than-chain prices, it's the rich history that keeps me coming back. Established in 1838, it's the oldest apothecary in America, known for personalized care and legendary customers like Mark Twain, Eleanor Roosevelt, and even Thomas Edison. The store once had a famous soda fountain and a beloved resident cat, Mr. Bigelow, who earned a New York Times obituary. Their flavored medications (for humans and pets), Medicare Part D assistance, hard-to-find prescriptions, and delivery service set them apart. I love browsing the shelves while soaking in nearly two centuries of history. This place is truly where the alchemy of the past meets the power of the present. Tip: Sign up for their discounts--you'll even get $10 off your purchase!

I love this store so much and have been shopping here since I can remember. I loved the Co Bigelow products since before they sold out to Bath and Bodyworks. They have a great selection and small travel sizes in the back. There's also a huge variety of beauty products from a variety of brands. They have fun accessories like hair clips, key chains and jewelry. I remember once getting a lighter ring here that actually spun - so rock and roll. Prices are a little high but they have a great selection.

the store was very cute and worth visiting for the amazing made in france hair accessories!! the workers were also very kind. prices were WAY higher than i anticipated though so just be aware - i think it's because of the brand name. i splurged on a $58 claw clip

If you're looking for an iconic spot to visit while picking up some amazing personal products, this is the spot in NYC! Established in the 19th century, this store offers gorgeous antique cabinets and ceilings in its environment along with a super friendly, super cute resident tuxedo kitty. Their own personal line of Bigelow products, including the amazing lemon hand wash & lotion as well as the iconic tin of rose salve, are conveniently located in the front of the store. There are also samples and complete price lists, which is always appreciated! Bigelow also has a large, beautiful selection of the famous hair clips that Caroline Bessette Kennedy often purchased here. The staff was meh. Despite the fact that it is a tiny entry way & they are all literally huddled together standing there when you enter (as opposed to being evenly spread throughout the store in case you need help) they sort of just stand there & stare at you awkwardly when you enter. I was eyeing a certain hair clip at the counter for a few minutes and no one approached me to ask if they could show me something or if I could use some help. This surprised me because again they were all huddled at the entrance of the store. The resident tuxedo kitty is ADORABLE & friendly. Be sure to say hi! This is also a full-service pharmacy and seems to have most basic personal medical supplies as well as a great selection of personal hygiene products. Visiting NYC soon? I would definitely recommend Bigelow! The store is a piece of history to take in, and their products never disappoint! Just don't expect the greatest customer service!

Since 2006 I have used their brand shave cream in the green metal tube made by Probrasso. It is the best, smells great, easy on the skin, never left with razor burn Much better than the "edgy" can stuff I used before.

I walked into a space that covers a lot of ground, from snacks and drinks to beauty products, home goods, and collectibles, and the density of what is on display makes it easy to spend more time browsing than I planned. The snack selection is the strongest draw and covers an impressive range. I saw Asian versions of familiar American snacks sitting alongside Japanese and Korean originals, and the drink section downstairs is broad enough that finding something I have not tried before is a near certainty. The variety of drinks, many with anime or character branding, reflects a buying approach that goes beyond the standard convenience store selection. The beauty and skincare section upstairs is well stocked with Korean and Japanese brands that are not widely available at American drugstores. I browsed through everything from face wash to sheet masks and specialty treatments, and the prices are competitive for imported products of this type. Blind boxes occupy their own significant section, and the selection across different series is one of the better in the city, with reasonable pricing relative to what the same items cost at specialty toy stores. Home goods, toys, collectibles, and kawaii accessories fill the remaining floor space. For a one stop shop for Korean and Japanese lifestyle goods, snacks, and beauty products in Koreatown, TESO Life delivers a broad and browsable experience that rewards repeat visits.

The store itself was clean, well-organized, and lots to browse, with prices that felt on par with other cosmetic shops in the area. That said, the experience felt more self-serve, as the sales associate wasn't particularly welcoming or attentive during my visit. If you already know what you're looking for, it's a great little spot to pop into. Just don't expect much in the way of personalized help--but the product selection makes it worth checking out.

If you're going to run a business in the melting pot that is NYC, you should teach your employees not to racially profile and that everyone should be treated equally.

I walked into a store that is essentially one large room, and the density of product on display meant navigating it during a busy period required some patience, but the selection within that compact space was broader than the size suggested. The Korean literature section covers both Korean language and English language editions across a range of genres, which makes it genuinely useful for anyone studying the language or looking for titles that are difficult to find at general bookstores in the city. I saw children's books in Korean, well stocked. The K pop side of the store covers albums, photocards, posters, keychains, stickers, and merchandise across a wide range of artists, with BTS having a particularly strong presence historically alongside newer groups. Pricing runs higher than what I would pay ordering online or finding the same items at a larger retailer, which is the standard trade off for a specialty shop in Manhattan. Album prices in particular can be steep, though sale events bring them down to more competitive territory. Individual accessory items like stickers and bookmarks are priced at a premium relative to their size, so going in with a sense of what I am willing to spend helps avoid sticker shock at the register. The store is a reliable stop for anyone looking for Korean books or K pop merchandise in a physical retail setting in New York, with the caveat that the pricing and the crowd level are both factors worth knowing about before I go.
