The 1 star is based off of the customer service of the front desk clerks. We absolutely love my daughter's teacher but all the ladies at the front desk are rude. It's almost as if they aren't being paid to be there. If the customer service doesn't improve I will be removing my daughter altogether. My daughter has been attending classes with Ms Gina for about a month now. She absolutely loves it and Gina is great with all the kids! Small class sizes are important to me so my daughter gets more one on one attention and the class my daughter takes is fairly small. The size of the gym and the amount of equipment for the littles is really cool. They keep the kids moving! I love that there are plenty of seats for parents to observe as well. Sublime coach as well as a preeminent program. Exceptional for elite and optional children and plenty of options at the snack bar like pop chips and soda. However, the coach needs to be more couthy as our kids are soft and mushy like mushroom. They cannot handle the rough edges of the tough coaching. read more

If I could give this zero I would. This is a ridiculous story. My kid was dragged by a bigger kid in the morning that he was there for a day camp. No one saw, which is the first and smallest problem. But second no one called us to let us know. I get there at the end of the day and still no word. I get home and see this and am upset to say the least. At first when we called, they said my kid fell. When pressured they then said they viewed the video and he was dragged. But they said they have no procedure for a rug burn. This is beyond a rug burn as you can see. This broke all the layers of skin. This was left all day untreated, no call. We requested multiple times over the past two weeks that the owner call us. Zero response. Zero accountability to the inaction, obviously they do not care about the well being of the children other than some money in their pocket. Don't trust your kids to this place. read more

We were recently there for a birthday party of mostly 7 year olds. My daughter is only 3.5 years old, so she isn't able to do a lot of the physical things that the older kids were able to. She really wanted to participate, but we were a little concerned that she may get hurt with all of the older kids running around and being excited about the party. There were two instructors for the class when it started, but one of the female staff named Desi or Dezi (spelling?) soon joined to help my daughter and make sure she could participate and have a great time. She was absolutely amazing with my daughter! She was so involved and really made sure that my daughter was safe and having fun. She singlehandedly made the experience awesome for my daughter and our family. It was my daughter's first time trying gymnastics and she absolutely loved it. Desi/Dezi really went above and beyond. My daughter has been enrolled here since she was 7. The girls academy glasses did amazing things for her confidence and skill. She's now on an Xcel team at 16 and I stand by my original impression. Different coaches and staff but all in all still love it! read more

My kids love the ninja and gymnastics classes. Coaches are great! Shoutout to coach Joe. Lots of trampolines and with they always have cool obstacle courses and foam block pits. I wish I could give this place 5 stars. I would have if I made this post months ago. My son attends the ninja classes here for over a year now and we had a great experience with the coach Tim, but he had to leave for his more permanent full time job is what they told all parents. Now we have coach David, and that is why the low stars. He is rude, belittling, talks down to the kids and down right creepy! He is very very creepy with little girls, the way touches their lower back versus higher on the back with boys, the voice he issues with little girls is also creepy. I'm thankful I don't have a daughter in his classes if I did I would pull her out. Anyway, coach David doesn't have the patience to work with kids and teach them, if your child doesn't know how to do something the first time he shows them he doesn't know how to try a new way to help them understand, instead he just gets frustrated with the child. I have seen him make multiple kids cry. Coach Joe is amazing! He is patient and soft spoken and knows what he is doing and how to work with kids. His classes are all full because everyone seems to switch to him because no one likes the other coach. I guess it's more important to show up to a job then to keep students in the class. read more

I was looking at gymnastic places to take a child that I nanny for. She has real potential and is very strong and knows basic gymnastics. I called the office to see what class she could try. Taking with the person on the phone they said that the parent would have to come out and sign papers. Everywhere else I have been they can do that online and send it in. I am there nanny I have them because there parents are working. I asked if there was any way to have then emailed and they said no. I did not get warm and fuzzies from the person on the other end of the call. I came to the conclusion that this was not the right place for the child I was nannying and we would look else where. I understand that they need paperwork done but when someone is explaining the situation to you, most people would find a way to make it work. Talking to the boss and getting back to them would be great. Just to be told only the parent has to be in person to sign papers well then we will take our business else where. read more

I had 2 kids enrolled in their Ninja School classes. For $160 a month, + a $30 each annual fee, they got 45 minutes of ninja school per week. Then, they do a holiday performance, and CHARGE THE PARENTS $12 to attend and watch their kids' preform. Their reasoning is that all of the children were preforming, but I don't care to see anyone but my own kids and wouldn't have sat through anyone but my own kids' performance. I had to reschedule their last class, and they were unable to get me in before the 1st of the year. I was then informed they could not actually attend as I was not continuing in January. I wasted $80 this month because one time they wouldn't let me reschedule within 2 hours of the class. I should have checked yelp first, but I guess they don't care about reviews. The kids spent more time waiting in cue to go through the course then they did actual exercise. I'm signing them and myself up for a membership at a jump house/ninja course where for a fraction of the price all 3 of us can go every day. read more

We have been here for 4 + years. My daughter started in Academy at level 1 and is now finishing her second year on team. My daughter loves going! I never have to remind her to get ready or "make" her want to go. We love the coaches who help them to learn new skills and care about the girls. That there is actually 2 gyms is really nice. Having a dedicated team gym allows them to have plenty of space to work on all their skills. I love that my daughter's teammates are from all over the area and have bonded deeply. Recently Team Legacy was commended for their sportsmanship. This is hugely important to us. read more

My 3.5 yr old son attends a gymnastics school at home, but while we were here visiting, I wanted him to get some energy out and go a class or two so I called for a preview class, fully intending to go again before we left to go back home. The receptionist wasn't there and I was helped by a trainer, which is fine, but he wasn't famliar with all the classes, which is understandable, because it was the week of Christmas. He told us when to come and who our trainer would be. I had a couple of issues with this gym, the most important being that apparently they do not have any heat in the building. This is a huge warehouse, just like our gym at home, however, unlike our gym it was about 55F at 10 am when we came over for our class. All the trainers, old and young were in sweats, thick socks and sweatshirts. One even had gloves on. This is a HUGE issue for me when you have young children trying to exercise. And no matter how much they run around, they can't get warm when all they are wearing are leotartds for the girls and light pants and a shirt for the boys. They had a gymnastic camp during the time as well, and all the little girls were freezing in their leotards whicle the instructors were standing around toasty warm. They were eating snack and the instructors turned on the TV in the dining area (if you can call 2 picnic tables that). I really didn't think the TV was necessary when you have about 20 girls together in camp. My son's instructor appeared to be early 20's and was nice, but she apparently also had her little boy with her at work. He seemed to be about the same age as my son. He appeared to attend all her classes, as she was finishing one up when we showed up and she was paying him more attention than was necessary in my opinion. I understand childcare may be difficult to find during the holidays when school is out, but when you are teaching a class of 4 kids, paying a lot of attention to your own son, stands out. To add to the coldness factor, at the end of the class, without asking, she gave all the kids an otter pop on the way out. My son unused to this was confused, and then she added, after she had already opened the ice cream, "You should go ask your mom if you can eat it." Yes, because I will be able to say no to him at that point.! The gym itself looks standard and doesn't smell like some of them do, but I wouldn't go back there again. read more

Took my two boys there for the Ninja class. They "require" a ninja shirt and ninja headband (an extra expense). The ninja class is just basically a tumbling and obstacle course class. No martial arts skills are taught at all. My kids spend more time waiting their turn on the circuit than they do actually being active. Lots of standing around. These are boys! They need to be active the whole hour! There were four (4) instructors today and four (4) students for ninja class. However, Three instructors were sitting down and three students were waiting in line for a 'turn'. One instructor periodically went to socialize with the kids in line. The front desk employees are not professional or helpful. They seem irritated when I ask a question. I paid $142.50/month for both my sons to attend one class/week. Overpriced. Ninja class sounded like a good idea, but doesn't look as appealing once you see how it lacks martial arts and activity. read more

Here is the list: 1) Coach Patty herself must be trying to accomplish a spot on Forbes as she raises tuition prices literally every other month. 2) The gym is a bacteria heaven, especially in Summer. I will never be putting my child in this toxic environment again. Coach Rachael should be ashamed of herself after what she did to my kid. A KID and you are going to cause them to feel embarrassed about them self?? After seeing the previous bad reviews, it appears the apple doesn't fall far from the tree, eh? Horrible customer service, constantly raising prices, and now this?? My kid no longer wanted to even attend the class after Coach Rachael embarrassed them in front of everyone there. If you want to make a critique or observation, you should do it in private so the KID does not have to feel singled out and become embarrassed. Pretty simple concept, especially if you are going to be working with kids the majority of time. I had no issues with the coaches before her (Although in 2 month span they went through 4 different coaches for one class) , so I would just like to warn anyone who reads this review about her. Maybe you were having a bad day? But do you take that out on kids?? The customer service up front is a pain to deal with also. Never helpful and would rather just see you walk away from this "class" then try to even help address your issues or concerns. All of these are deserving of a one star for this place. read more

I have been bringing my daughter to classes at Coach Patty's every Saturday morning since she was 2 years old, she will be 5 in about three months now. We probably drive past 10 other places where she could take classes, but we go to Coach Patty's by design. It works for us. In many ways it is the highlight of the for both of us. She gets the full and dedicated attention of coaches who provide guidance, leadership, technical proficiency coupled with a genuine affection for the kids they are working with, regardless of age or skill level. They are both having a blast and I don't think my kids are very competitive but if they wanted to compete, Coach Patty's would be a good place to train. I did a trial class with my son last month. The receptionist acted like she was doing us a favor. Strike 1! The facility was a mess. Front office was open with papers in boxes thrown all over the floor. Overall the gym area was older and not too clean. I also noticed some safety issues with equipment and sharp edges exposed. Strike 2. Our instructor as mentioned in another review was a younger gal who brought her son to class. She ended up spending the majority of her time focusing on him and not the other children in class. Strike 3. Now here's the homerun............................they give Otter pops to the kids at the end of class, Are you kidding me? I would think a gym would be promoting a healthy lifestyle via exercise and diet. Otter pops? They might as well had the IV drip with sugar waiting when we walked in. We attended a birthday party at the facilities today. My 5 year old son loved guided instruction and play time. However, my 3 year old is a bit of an introvert and the staff didn't allow him to play on unsupervised areas because of the cables & other hazards. Parents aren't allowed on or near the equipment so it's up to the staffers to engage the entire group. My 5 yr old loved the class so much I decided to enroll him in the kids program. read more

Everyone at Coach Patty's makes it an amazing Gym. The ENTIRE staff is exceptional, from the wonderful Gym-mom Kiersa, who runs the front and keeps everything organized, while simultaneously making everyone feel welcome and wanting to return every week; to the knowledgeable coaches who are energetic, committed to the kids, and enthusiastic about the sport and their jobs. The facility is top notch, HUGE, and clean. The equipment is new, safe, and current, unlike other facilities I have come across over the years. I have enrolled 2 of my daughters there over the last 4 years and when my toddler is old enough I am sure she will follow in her sisters' shoes (or leotards more appropriately). I don't live in Camarillo, and there are other gyms just as close to me, if not closer, but I find it worth the drive not just for the impressive facility but for the personal investment in my children. Coach Patty's also does tons of other events to make the kids feel special year round, including the annual Valentine's Day Father Daughter Dance, which my daughters look forward to every year. This year Coach Chrissy outdid herself. My husband and daughters came home glowing, they had a great time, and they will take those special memories with them throughout their lives. I know there are less expensive ways for my children to be physically active but this investment in our daughters is about more than just the sport so we wanted more than just an activities director running the show. We wanted the best and we wanted integrity, hard work, dedication, and fun. We found all of those in Camarillo, and our family gives Coach Patty's the highest recommendation there is not just on yelp but to everyone we know! read more

The Coaches are completely mean to the children. The "coaches" that work there are kids themselves. They are disrespectful . I am watching from the seats inside ! Fees are insane . Charging $50 for parents that don't work the meets. You guys make enough money to pay your own people to work the meets ! Horrible place . U all need better "coaches". Definitely the best gym in the Ventura county area for quality of gymnastics. It's easy to find places that will teach your children to huck and chuck new skills but harder to find places that focus on technique, strength and flexibility.
