I'm heartbroken and deeply disappointed by how my daughter and I were treated at this gymnastics studio after over a year of commitment. From the start, I was transparent with the staff: my daughter has ADHD. She's bright, kind, and energetic--yes, she can be easily distracted, but she's also incredibly sweet and eager to participate. I asked if the studio was comfortable working with a high-energy child before enrolling, because I only wanted to place her in an environment that was supportive and understanding. They assured me it would be fine. Months into the program, I was pulled aside by the owner--publicly, in front of other parents--and told my daughter was disruptive and walking away from class. I explained her needs again and asked for understanding. After observing a session, the owner reassured me she was doing well and could remain in the program. Then, out of the blue, I was contacted by the new management with a list of demands: I had to sit in the tiny waiting area (even though I parked directly in front of the building and could see my daughter through the windows), and I had to arrive 10 minutes early, which is difficult for a child who struggles to wait. I explained that I often have my other children with me and that remaining in the car was more practical. They suggested I wait in a back patio area, where I couldn't even observe the class. The next day, I received another call--this time informing me that my daughter was being dismissed from the program entirely, and that they would be refunding my money. I was shocked and tried to express how poorly this was being handled, only to have the woman on the phone hang up on me. We've invested time, energy, and money into this program, and it's deeply upsetting to be treated this way--especially after being transparent from the beginning. Families deserve empathy and open communication, not sudden dismissal and disrespect. read more

We had our birthday party today. Coaches were awesome and asked the birthday girl how she wanted her obstacle course set. They played hide n seek, did courses, jumped on the trampoline and did activities with the coaches. Coach Nathan was so good with the kids. He was a very respectful young man that helped us to set up and clean. They had kids wash their hands before and after playing so they could eat. Overall all the kids had so much fun and parents could sit around and relax! Definitely recommend this place for parties! read more

We had an awful experience. The coaches were teenagers and the studio staff was not helpful and extremely unprofessional. On top of my daughter having a poor experience, we verbally said we would not be attending class anymore in person and I was told we would not be billed post that day and then continued to be billed for 2 months post the last class she attended. When I asked to be credited, I was told there was no record of me cancelling and that I would continue to be billed. One would think that if a student does not attend for over a month and a half that someone would check in. Very unprofessional place. read more

My child has been going to this gymnasium for 3 years and loved it and that's why I kept them there for so long BUT this place has a high turnover rate with the coaches since the coaches typically were students themselves. This place lacks professionalism. The parking lot is a nightmare and Cindy the owner doesn't enforce parents to not park in red marked areas, so often times you cant reverse out of a parking spot without bumping into a car improperly parked in the red zone. This place stinks...literally smells like eggs and sweat & no a.c to circulate the smell out. Word is that Cindy doesnt care much about Competitive Team since she doesnt see a return financially on it. Thank goodness that my child is over gymnastics already but it was fun bonding with the team. read more

Overall bad business, bad management, teenagers who seem miserable and could care less letting kids jump around and not actually teach any real skills. Small space, no easily accessible public restroom, very jam packed at every class, one teenage "coach" per huge group of students, in a very small gym. Easy for kids to be distracted, especially when the coach isn't giving them things to do. I've had to change times and days of classes many times to find a day and time that the place is not so packed. For it being a "boutique" gym, they should limit the class sizes. This makes me believe they are just out there to make money off the community. The owner is not involved in the kids at all, I am present at every class, and for a year she has not spoken to me, when I asked coaches how my daughter was doing in class I was told she was doing great. However, Cindi seemed to have her opinions about my child, that were absolutely not communicated to me by the coaches and staff. Cindi is very defensive, rude and dismissive. There is no private office to speak. I was told multiple times by multiple staff members that my daughter is ready for the next level for months. However, I felt they only were trying to convince me to stay and have her try the next level once I told them we were looking to train elsewhere. Stating "Ashley was meaning to move her up"...why had they not done it already then? Just to waste my time and money? My daughter was bored in class and was not challenged whatsoever. It was more socializing than gymnastics. I felt that she was not learning the correct way to do skills, because of the large class sizes, the "coach" focuses most of their time on kids who need the most help, and the owner not being involved in classes whatsoever. There is no team spirit, my daughter who is very friendly did not even know her coaches name until I asked. The age ranges do not make sense for classes and skill level. I came from professional ballet and gymnastics training so it was worrying when the coach and owner did not correct her moves, as it can be damaging to her growing body. My daughter is very eager to learn and very capable of disciplinary coaching. This completely lacked at this gym. I had sent in written notice of canceling her classes, and was told we had to stay another month per the cancellation policy. That was fine with me, but once I made a fuss because of miscommunication from the staff, I was refunded and classes cancelled, and my daughter was kicked out in the middle of class. I was told she can try the next level and see if we want to stay at Gold Coast, however when we got to class, she was sent to the lower level class because they didn't want her to join "just for a month", if we were going to leave anyways. I never received a call or email about them holding her back in the class she was already in to a month just because we were leaving the gym. Long story short, there is very very very poor communication between staff and parents, and extremely poor customer service... why hold us hostage for a month if we are unhappy with the training? I had spoken with multiple staff members and we seemed to be on the same page. Also, you can't get ahold of them on the phone and it takes days to get an email back. Overall I'm very unsatisfied after 1+ years of my daughter attending classes. It is great for little kids or kids who just want to have a fun activity for an hour, but not to be taken seriously. I was warned by multiple friends and acquaintances not to sign my daughter up for similar reasons, and I should have listened. Parents.. be weary...I will not be recommending Gold Coast Gymnastics to anyone. read more

We've been going to GCG now for over 3 years and we love it. (Daughter does gymnastics and my son does Ninja classes). I have always found the staff professional and courteous and classes were always beneficial and fun for the kids and the environment was clean. One of the reasons I am giving them 5-stars is the way they work with my autistic son (he does not like any physical activity) , but the Ninja staff at GCG has been very patient working with him and now he loves going and actually asks me when we are going again! PRO TIP - They also offer a "Pizza night" on Saturday nights where you can do drop-off for a few hours and the kids get to run around and have fun while mom and dad can go out for date-night! read more

Location is good. Parking is awful. Class options and ranges is good but the quality of instructors varies. I would like them to be a little more regimented since I am paying for my daughter to learn skills not have play time and be silly. When they do focus and have a structured class, it is great. I wish I could stay and watch more often but too often siblings and kids not in their class are free to roam and make a ruckus in the echoing hall. The hall itself and the viewing room are often overcrowded and loud instead. Feels like a daycare more so than a viewing room. read more

Before I registered I was concerned, I had I seen a couple reviews saying staff was rude and unfriendly but I have definitely not experienced that. I would recommend anyone trying to try it out. My kids have been attending Gold Coast Gymnastics for about 9 years. We left another Ventura area gym for Gold Coast in order to have a larger, full facility gym with a competitive team. We have not been disappointed. Not only have my girls learned tons (in an incredibly safe environment), but their teammates and coaches have become like family. My son also did classes until he was 7 or so, but gymnastics was not for him. The discipline, balance, and strength he acquired here was a great foundation for the other sports for which he now has great passion (baseball, basketball, and football). I really appreciate not only the professional attitude of Cindi, the owner, but how she cares for each and every one of those gymnasts. She asks about school, is quick to congratulate them if they receive a special award, and is truly concerned that her gym be a place where the kids will not only become better gymnasts, but better people. And, yes, it smells like sweat. Girls (and boys) are working out there. I can assure you that it is cleaned regularly, though. The team girls often stay late enough to be leaving as the cleaning crew is coming in. read more

The classes are fine but the management is only in the business of making money. They do not care about the kids whatsoever. If you are even one minute late beyond what they feel is acceptable not matter the reason (even a Police street closure!) they will turn you away. Our kids both 3 and 5 years old have been turned away in complete tears twice. The management just does not care and are heartless. read more

I stopped by Gold Coast on Thursday to get my daughter started back into gymnastics. I dropped by to just get hours and some basic information but happened to come by when they where closed, but the manager saw me at the door and let me in and answered all of my questions. She was so nice and was able to set up a trial time. I came back the same day at 3:30 and my daughter loved it! All of the coaches were so nice and friendly! I have been going to gold coast for many many years. I myself went to gold coast as a young child and absolutely loved it!!!!! My two kids now go here and love the fact that they can follow their mothers foot steps while enjoying what their doing!!!!! They started out with the regular classes but insisted on doing their summer camps!!!!!! They absolutely love the camps they just went for this first week and are begging to go back!!!!!!!! I have been going to Gold Coast for a few years. We do classes and summer camps and my kids love every minute of it. The classes are led by highly skilled coaches who keep the kids moving and engaged. The summer camps are great as well. The coaches are energetic, fun, and exciting. Its a great mix of work and play. They play lots of games while learning and improving on their gymnastics skills. Overall, it has been and incredible experience, and I HIGHLY reccomend it to anyone and everyone. read more

They are not getting my money. I will go elsewhere..I had never taken my daughter to class before, my husband usually took our daughter. I was not sure where to sign in (you don't), or what the protocol was, so I made the mistake of walking to the office where the manager was seated. She would not acknowledge me and made me just sit and wait there until she FINALLY looked up and actually rolled her eyes when I asked her what we were supposed to do. She was so horribly rude to me I left completely shaken. We never went back. I called to speak with the owner and left messages twice and was never called back. It is so large, a child in the class didn't understand one of the moves and they just left her there crying while the rest of the left the area and started on the next activity. It's like herding cattle. I have since moved on to a smaller gymnastics studio that I love. 2 instructors for the 6 children in class. SO hands on and each child gets plenty of attention and one on one instruction. And bonus: it doesn't smell in there! A completely different experience. THEY will get my money. read more

My daughters went here for a year, both were 5 at the time and I can't say they really learned anything. They had young teenagers teaching their class which was frustrating in itself for what I was paying. It was always stinky inside and wasn't really clean. We are now at Delano Athletica and love it. They learn something new every class and the owner teaches each class. read more
