The interaction centered heavily on the facility's policy that only one adult could accompany a child under five. Specifically, my two year old could be accompanied in by one adult but not the five year old, she had to enter by herself. While I understood and acknowledged this rule, it was repeatedly emphasized in a way that felt unnecessary and increasingly confrontational. After checking in, I entered the gym briefly with my five year old (as instructed by the front desk lady) to place our belongings in a cubby, before returning to bring in my two-year-old with us. At that point, a woman--who later identified herself as the owner--questioned me about my child's age and repeatedly asked whether my younger child would be coming in. Despite my clear explanations that I was simply setting our things down and would return for my toddler, she continued to reiterate the one-adult policy and pressed for clarification. Her tone became increasingly firm, and she stated, "I'm the owner here, and I need to know what's going on and who's coming in," which made the interaction feel accusatory rather than informative. The situation escalated further when my five-year-old decided she wanted her father to accompany her and her sister instead of me. We attempted to follow the rules by having my husband sign the waiver to take my place. However, the front desk staff again emphasized the one-adult policy, and the owner joined the conversation. The two of them spoke back and forth as though trying to decide what to do about us. In retrospect I believe they thought both my husband and I were trying to enter with our two children. I did not realize this at the time because I was so flustered by their tone towards us. By the time the owner told me I was being "snappy," I began to tear up from this ridiculous escalation, the repeated questioning and lack of courtesy throughout the exchange. Ultimately, we decided to leave rather than continue the interaction. Although we had already paid for both children to participate in open gym, we chose not to stay due to the negative experience. My husband went back to grab my belongings, and I was sitting on the bench right outside, helping my daughter with her shoes when one of the customers/moms came out to comfort me and let me know that I was not the only one that has dealt with this kind of thing with the staff at the facility. When we got in the car, my husband told me that another mom inside told him that this kind of thing happens like once a week. My husband later contacted the facility and was able to obtain a refund.

We were never anything but friendly with her but she had an attitude every. single. day. We signed up for a trial class and came back two weeks later to sign up for classes and she snapped at me for not coming back sooner. She wasn't joking...she actually chastised me. If she was on the phone when we arrived we didn't even get a glance up. We never once received a greeting when we arrived or when we left. I couldn't call her out if I wanted to because she never told me her name. On the first day of my daughter's class she sat outside the gymnasium waiting to go in and the lady snapped at her and said " well go in!!" We'd never been to a class and didn't know where to go or what to do but apparently we were meant to. If it's her business she can act however she wants. But there are plenty of gymnastic studios in the area and I highly recommend touring them all before you make a decision. On a side note: my daughter's teacher was great! I would give them zero stars if it weren't for her. In my experience, though, it's difficult to hold on to great employees when you have a crappy attitude.

~ FLOATING SHAVASANA WAS ABSOLUTELY MAGICAL ~…read more I've always wanted to try aerial yoga, and I'm so glad that my first experience was at the Aerial Studio. I booked the Intro to AIReal Yoga class through ClassPass, with Kristen O' Briant as the instructor. You can either bring your own mat or use one provided by the studio. They offer both aerial and AIReal Yoga classes that use hammocks in the practice. Our class took place in the back of the room, where a beautiful array of hammocks was set up. Kristen was an amazing instructor--she took special care of beginners, ensured we were making safe moves, and offered modifications when needed, all while providing encouragement and still challenging us. As an avid yogi, these hammocks really helped deepen my asanas, and I enjoyed this fresh approach. The highlight for me was the floating shavasana. Normally, I struggle to fully relax during the final shavasana in traditional yoga classes, but this experience was magical. Swaying gently and being cocooned in the hammocks - like a butterfly before it transforms or a baby in a womb - made it the most relaxed I've ever been during shavasana. A couple notes for the studio: during the first half of the class, there was also a children's class happening at the same time. It wasn't too disruptive but did occasionally make it hard to focus and be present. Also, dimming the lights during the final shavasana would enhance the atmosphere as well as show off the beautiful twinkle lights strung above the rafters. I highly recommend this experience and am looking forward to my next class! *HOT TIP: This was my first visit to Pacific View Mall, and I had trouble finding the studio. The studio is located inside the mall and between Old Navy and American Eagle.
