I was staying in the area and found this restaurant for Friday dinner. Had never heard of the chain, but I decided to give it a try. The decor featured sports montages on the walls for the Charlotte Motor Speedway and college (ACC) sports teams. I noticed that the rivalry of UNC/Duke had its own special montage. I was immediately seated and greeted by my server. I ordered the Cajun Chicken Pasta with a side salad. The salad was a more than ample portion, but I was a bit disappointed with the one tomato wedge instead of easier-to-mix pieces for the salad. I am always a bit concerned when ordering anything labeled "Cajun" as I'm unsure of what level of spice and heat that might mean. Fortunately, this dish had a nice level of spice. The chicken was a smaller bite sizes than I expected, but that and the pasta made an ample and enjoyable dish. read more

The dining room has been nicely renovated. The atmosphere is pleasant. The place is clean. This was our first time eating here. We will be back. The menu is pretty diverse. They have anything from wings to steaks. I ordered an All American burger. They also offer a nice variety of sides. I got mac & cheese. My burger was pretty good and the mac & cheese was rich, creamy, and delicious. My date ordered a mushroom Swiss burger. It was good. Her side of sweet potato fries were good and came with a tasty dipping sauce. We didn't order from the bar but the drinks coming out looked really good. First time I've given a restaurant a 1-star review. It was so bad we could only just laugh. We started with a margarita which was pretty good so I was excited for the rest. Sorely disappointed with the wings. We didn't even eat them all, I'm not sure how they messed up the sauce but the Buffalo sauce definitely tasted like it had something else in it, maybe barbecue? But the worst part of this visit was we were a party of 9 and only four plates came out. Server left and we assumed to get the rest of our meals. It was over 10 minutes before the server came out and said the rest of our food the ticket was lost. I know it was 10 minutes because the Nathan's Hot Dog competition started after my family got their food and the server didn't come over until after it was over. She brought my husbands shrimp only leaning four missing and he asked for cocktail sauce. It wasn't brought over. When my food and the kids food finally arrived everyone else was done with their meal. But my nephew's food was wrong anyway. They did take off the three kids meals and my meal, but I didn't even eat my meal anyway since I had already eaten off everyone else's plate and wasn't hungry by the time my salad came. My dad's steak was terrible. He couldn't even cut it. My husbands shrimp was also terrible and he didn't even touch the sweet potato fries. Basically all the food was terrible. Burgers were dry. And there was hardly anyone in the restaurant so I'm not sure how they messed it up. This is the worst meal and service we've had in a very long time. I waited tables for 12 years and couldn't believe they had the nerve to add a 20% tip when we got the bill. We didn't complain and just paid it because I know this wasn't 100% her fault even though she was also terrible, didn't communicate and when we asked for sauce or water it wasn't brought to us. I feel like the restaurant should have taken off more. We probably could have gotten more off if we complained but I try not to do that. I just left an honest review instead. But we will absolutely not be back. read more

She never interrupted, yet she was always available. This is a simple, small chain sports bar in North Carolina. The menu provides a variety that I think can satisfy just about any pallet. I had the beef tips, with a house salad, and mashed potatoes. A couple of the beef tips were a little chewy, the rest were super tender and perfectly cooked. I went a few times and was not disappointed. It is nothing special, don't get me wrong, but they do have great specials which make up for it. We went for a few music trivia nights and had fun. On top of Tuesday being for trivia, they also offer 50 cent wings. Since everyone is there for the special, the wings come out quick and fresh. I liked a few of the sauces, including the Buffalo and the "reaper" sauce. Everyone has been friendly and welcoming for special requests with seating. I'm always open to new places between Charlotte and Lexington NC (where I live now) that I can meet my friends at, and I was excited by the large menu. But I won't be coming back. The service was okay; it consisted mostly of the server asking if everything was okay in passing while she was rushing off to the kitchen or other tables, and while I blame it more on not being fully staffed (are any restaurants fully staffed anymore?), it wasn't very welcoming. I ordered the salmon with two sides of rice and my friend ordered a buffalo chicken with sweet potato fries. My salmon was beyond overcooked. I would say that it was also overpriced at $18, but it would have been overpriced at $2; it was so overcooked it was basically tasteless. It was coated in an oversweet glaze, but it did have a mango salsa that gave it at least a little bit of flavor. It's very rare to order salmon and get it perfectly cooked, but this is the first time I've had it so overcooked that I couldn't even finish it. I did like the rice quite a bit though. My friend got what she considered a mediocre sandwich she'd never order again (and she's a huge fan of buffalo chicken anything). To make it worse, instead of the provolone cheese she requested, it came with the default American cheese, and she got an order of regular fries instead of the sweet potato fries she'd ordered. This is the first time in a long time - okay, I don't even remember the last time - when I left a 15% tip instead of 20% or more. While some bar food is mediocre, I found Coach's to be above average, not really a 4 star though. Just to basic and boring. Great they make reservations. Group of 7 for a get together. I ordered BLT and another person in party ordered ham and cheese. When time to pay the bill I mentioned to the server I was not pleased with the BLT, it looked like ham or canadian bacon, but not bacon as I know it. She stated she was sorry to hear that. Come to find out the other person had my BLT (he was not happy with his meal as he wanted the ham and cheese) and she did not charge him. I asked for the Manager who gave me a 15% coupon for NEXT time (which won't be happening). The server realized the mistake in the kitchen when she was doing up our bill, didn't even mention the mistake she already knew about. I paid for my meal.. This would be a wonderful place to watch football on Saturday or Sunday game days if there were more, bigger, and properly placed tvs. There was an odor to the place that is noticable when you walk in the door. Smelled like a backed up drain line either from the kitchen area or the ventilation. The nachos were plentiful and quite tasty. The wings were rather bland. Should have been seasoned prior to cooking. The wing flavors, lemon pepper, garlic parm, sweet red chili and mango habanero all were flavorless and bland. The ranch dressing was just nasty. So, we were once regulars at this restaurant, but we haven't been there as much since our favorite bartender left. To say it has gone downhill is an understatement. The "manager" who spends more time on her phone than serving patrons is now the new Bartender. And the fact that a bar was empty on a $5 dollar burger and 99 cent beer special night speaks volumes. The bartender won't refill your beer until it is completely empty and she reuses the same glass to save on dishes. There were dishes all over the bar. Probably used as a deterrent for people to sit there so she works less. They ran out or buns for the burgers on a burger night special. Really? And who went to the store to buy buns?!? Our bartender. Went in on a Tuesday evening, the crowd was light. My server was Michelle and she was also tending the bar. She was attentive, welcoming and polite and created a pleasant atmosphere. It was a hot day and I practically guzzled my soda in one shot. Michelle was right there and kept me refilled. I went basic and ordered a All American Burger with Fries. I made it a double meat burger for $2 more. The food came out fairly quick and was HOT and was thoroughly cooked but not over cooked. The burger was sizable, juicy and tasty (I ended up having to use a knife and fork on the burger). I went yesterday and I'm aware that everyone is short staffed, so no complaint there. But the food was terrible. The BBQ chicken sandwich was awful as the chicken was rubbery and the bun was so soggy from the overload of BBQ sauce that is was nasty. The fries were ice cold and it just wasn't good at all. Each time I have been there, the food was the main issue. Is not worth the price at all and the staff isn't that friendly. In time of being with family. My server (Idaly) took it upon herself on with being the only server and bartender ( I noticed it was very short staffed) she managed to get everyone's needs and made sure everyone was attended while working 2 billets. This kind of leadership and initiative makes a great server not just in work ethic but as a person too. I asked her if she was the manager, she said no. I was surprised, her future looks very bright. Very good food! Coaches took over the old Ruby Tuesday near the Kannapolis Super Walmart. Nice clean entryway with lots of places to sit if you have to wait. We were seated quickly. Everyone pleasant. It is called a "Sports bar & grill", but definitely more family-friendly: you don't have to scream over the TV or music to talk to people. The staff was new, a little nervous but very friendly. The menu has lots to choose, good appetizers (HIGHLY recommend the pretzel bites!), lots of burgers & chicken and other choices. We did pretzel bites (SO GOOD!!) with cheese dip, and bacon cheese burgers. Cooked perfectly, generous on the bacon so that gets high points from me. Prices are about average ($10 or so per entree). I wanted wings tonight and wanted them to be good and not pay a fortune, and I was delighted. I got the 10 wings and chose "hot" for the sauce. There are many other choices, so it offers a wide variety. The wings were a nice size and cooked well. The hot sauce was perfect and paired with their blue cheese dressing was perfect. Saw a new restaurant in the area and wanted to give it a try. Waiting 20 for a seat, which is normal. Got sitting and it took several minutes for anyone to come to the table. Everyone was running all over the restaurant. Chaotic. We ordered and some of the food came out cold. I ordered a salad. It's very hard to mess up a salad, but the chicken was cold and dry, the apples were soggy and brown. I sent it back and ordered the teriyaki chicken. I thought it was a sandwich. Its not. Came out with bacon bits on it. We also order a burger, it came out plain no cheese. We only asked the the pickles be removed. Got a fresh burger bought out it was much better. Appetizer we ordered never came. Had to ask about it. Never got refills until stopping someone. The only thing I have tried from here was their Buffalo wings. Their wings are little on pricey side for grill n bar prices. They are also way hotter than normal Buffalo wings. Stoped buy for lunch. The food is always fresh and high quality. I love the Carolina gold wings with blue cheese. The burgers seem to be fresh and not some pre fab frozen chunk. They are cooked to order which is a plus. And they taste really good. The menu has a good variety for group gatherings and they seem to cater to individual specifics and changes. Coach's website says they will bring your order to your car so I ordered. When I arrived the confirmation email have a phone # and said to call when you arrive. No one answered and I'm not sure it was even the right #. After waiting quite a while in a designated curbside to go parking spot without anyone acknowledging that I was there. I had to hobble myself inside to get my food. Please don't advertise a service if you don't intend to provide it. read more
