I've been here a couple of times, most recently for a birthday party. The parking lot is large and easy to navigate and very close to the highway. Entering the venue we noted posters about upcoming events. The brunch and bowl with biscuits and gravy totally called to me. I must check this out! The lane was reserved for two hours at $16/per person - unlimited amounts of bowling. Pretty good deal if you ask me. My buddy and I arrived a couple minutes early however the staff were happy and able to check us in and put our names on the lane. The rest of the party rolled in over the next thirty minutes or so. We enjoyed playing tunes on the juke box ($1 per song), libations (a pitcher of blue moon was $21), lots of seating, and a fun atmosphere. While there were many children nearby all were well behaved and "stayed in their lane" (pun intended). It was a bit bright for my liking (note I am not a fan of the black light bowling) but when all is said and done I had a great time and the staff were efficient and cordial. read more

3.5 For the Vibe This place is an old school bowling alley that seems to be stuck in the 70's. I'm cool with vintage but, of course, a few hip & modern twists will amp up the scene and bring in more happy paying customers. The rates are pretty darn reasonable and we forked over about $20 for one game and 4 shoe rentals. The kitchen is open to the alley and has some good bones to it. With the right touch and better customer service- I'd dig it even more. One tiny (gross) let down is the fact that they don't take their kitchen very seriously. I'm almost sure that it's the cleanest place. The reason I say that is because I ordered a pineapple juice and it was sour and NASTY! I don't think I need to say more. Though they do have a good thing going: BEER! Other then the outdated decor and the arcade that has nothing but old and broken games, the lanes are legit. They have roomy seating areas and balls that can certainly knock them pins dowwwwn! The music selection on a Friday night was popping with various genres like 80's & Top 40. A total of three lanes were occupied by the end of our visit (around 9:30pm) including one with employees on it. I heard they had a $1 night. I'm not an avid bowler, but I do like it from time to time, so when I saw a Groupon that offer 4 games and 2 shoe rentals I decided to give them a try. everything is automated at this place and when one game is finished the screen says to start the next game, but after 2 games it said to stop, so I inquired at the service counter, and the clerk told me that each person that you're playing with counts as one game. What?! apparently this place thinks that people like to play with themselves and wear two pairs of bowling shoes since that's how, in their logic, a game of bowling is played. Extremely poor customer service. On multiple occasions we have consulted the website for hours and open bowling times. When showing up the extremely rude and condescending man that works there attempted to shame us because "every Tuesday is league bowling, so we don't have any lanes for you". We proceeded to share that the website contradicts that and he simply shrugs like, too bad, sorry about your luck. y best friend and I had a random bet to see who was the best bowler. We went to this alley by our work on our lunch break and bought a game, shoes and even paid $3 for socks. This on a Monday around 2pm, btw. I got a water cup and couldn't find the weird water spicket they have in place, but it was my time to bowl so I just I ended up bringing an empty cup back. At the very beginning of our game, a worker came up to us and grabbed the empty cup and smelled it. The cup was completely empty. He took the cup from our table and realized nothing was in it, but proceeded to interrogate and asked to search our bags. Nothing was found because we were simply there to bowl. After that, the experience was completely ruined. They watched us bowl the entire game even after their accusations proved false. lt was extremely uncomfortable and it really ruined our first normal outing since March.. I wish I never had wasted my money coming here.. I honestly feel like if you're going to spend money during this time, I would definitely NOT suggest going here. Super cheap bowling fun! Usually can get in right away. Only once did we have to wait for a lane (league night). Love coming on weekends for cheap and fun way to waste the weekend nights with friends and neighbors. Every once in a while there will be a Groupon online for even cheaper bowling! One negative is the reader that tells you the pins that get knocked down are not always accurate. It usually messes up the score about twice a game. It is funny sometimes, and easy to add it to our score in the end. But it is not funny when you get a strike and then it messes up the next round too... This is the reason for 4/5 not 5/5. Staff has always been friendly. The bartender is not always there at the bar but will come over as soon as they see you. Always helpful and laid back. Love the price and the easy going atmosphere! I came here with 12 people - 2 families. We all had a horrible experience. The women who works there made our time miserable. She stared at us the entire three hours we were there to make sure we had our bowling shoes on. She made us very uncomfortable with her dirty looks and body language. The same lady told my siblings and cousins they weren't allowed to play in the arcade. (At this point, she's picking on us). My sister and I went to the bathroom and she followed us in about 5 minutes after. My cousin was actually scared for us - and followed her to make sure everything was ok. She then grabbed my 12 year old cousin by the arm and shoulder while he was "running" - he was walking fast - and yelled at him saying "walk." After he told his parents that she grabbed him - she denied it instead of apologizing to the parents. She handled all situations badly - and we were not happy. I don't advise you to come here. We were just trying to have fun family time. read more

I'd be fine inhaling cigarette smoke the whole time but this place had terrible service from the start. Was greeted rudely from one of the worker as I tried to just grab shoes to bowl with our friends. He didn't even add us to the first game bowling with our friends. So we ended up watching the whole first game. There were no bowling bowls under 12 available. Everything started off okay. Up until I was confronted by this "manager" coming to me to tell me I need to have my mask on at all times when they have bright neon orange signs on their tables stating "please wear masks unless, eating, drinking or on the wooden approach to bowl. This is what we were looking for. There's been an worrying trend in these parts towards bowling alleys that are all glitz and glam, high priced beers, and deep-fried mac 'n cheese. Although the latter is delicious, in general, all this results in long waits for lanes and empty wallets. The solution? Coal Creek Bowling Center! I hear this place gets super crowded on Thursdays, but it was an awesome find for us last Saturday when we found the wait at Splitz to be over an hour. We ended up paying $11 for two games plus shoes. I think that's a decent price. I forget what the beer/food prices were, but I remember members of our party commenting on what good deals they were. I shall update this when I go back soon for a rumored $2/game bowling night on Wednesdays after 8pm. read more

It's a bowling alley, in a dying strip mall, in lafayette... There is no rock and bowl or anything to keep them open past... 10ish? We got there around 8:30pm and there was only 1 lane open to share for 6 of us. 19.98 for 2 people, 2 games, 1 pair of shoes. Note: you have to give your names when you buy your games - they type it in for you... kinda weird. The rest of the place is pretty darn run down and waaaay too brightly lit for the amount of run-down-ness that exists. There is a bar... Inside the bar area where the bartender is, super dark and creepy... There are a ton of lockers... not really sure why. Probably don't want to know why. There is an old "mid-way" - all the games are now gone There is a billiards area - meaning a single pool table The bathroom.. hmmm... All the sinks are rusted and icky. The staff... nice enough, but not real interested in us outsiders coming in to bowl. All in all i'm never in lafayette and was only here to join a couple of friends that had to have Thai Kitchen (next dying strip mall over) and this extended the evening. It was fun, we each played our games, only a couple of us broke 100 - so maybe we aren't the people that should be ocming here.. read more

Wow... is kinda all I got... While I am sure this was once a great bowling alley to bring the family or just hang out with friends.... We recently stopped here for our Junior Travel League... For starters when you turn into a dying strip mall... All signs say turn around and go elsewhere... As a parent I was pleasantly surprised there was plenty of seating for the parents.. Kids seem to be ok as well... Lanes were very inconsistent and dry. While all of our kids vary in their bowling expertise and knowledge... If your are a decent bowler and want good conditions... Stick with AMF or BZ! As for the snack bar/resturant... Stay away!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. Not decently priced AT ALL!!! $2.25 + tax for a medium (large for them) sized soda. Now as for the Cook... He wasn't wearing gloves. I witnessed him touching his nose an open trash can then TOUCHING FOOD!!!!!! All without washing his hands!! We went to down the street. Always find a new place to bowl. This bowling alley was very well maintained. Staff was friendly and helpful. Wasn't very crowded as it looked in the parking lot. I enjoy bowling every once in a while. It was nice that the system was automated to start the next game when you bowled. This place doesn't look like much from the outside, but your "icky bowling alley" fear will be gone as soon as you get in the door. They've definitely kept the place up--it's clean, modern, well-lit, and nice lanes. Management is very friendly. Can't beat the price. We took our 3 year-old there and used a bumper lane. Coal Creek Sports Center is mediocre, at best. Its not dirty (actually its pretty clean comparatively to other bowling alleys) but its fairly expensive, especially when you have to rent shoes. The staff are local highschool kids and I have had to wait for about 15 minutes to get service at their bar because no one was old enough to pour beer. The food is gross - but its a bowling alley. Overall, not the first place I'd pick to bowl, but also not the last. read more

We called and the said there was a 30 minute wait and we were turned away and told there was no availability for the rest of the day, even though there were available lanes. I am a league bowler so this place caters to my needs, for the most part. The lane conditions can only be classified as dry even at the start of league play. I haven't had any real problems with the returns regarding ball damage. The pro shoppe is a kinda lame so if you need a plug and drill I would go elsewhere (I recommend the one at Sonesta). Besides that it's a nice house with some good leagues. Pros: a true league house not a fun centre Cons: lane conditions, dry but consistent, pro shoppe is lacking read more

I have been here a thousand times. Mostly as a child with my after school YMCA day care while my mother was working two jobs while going to nursing school. I used to love it. They had a Simpson's video game. That's all I needed as a youth. My girlfriend and I came in recently. We had a groupon. It was a great deal. Now I am not bowling aficionado. So I can't comment on the lane or ball quality. Worked fine for me. We had a great time. If I had a complaint, it would be that they got rid of the Simpson's game. read more
