This was just a very good chili! The jalapeño cornbread was a bit disappointing, as it was a bit dry and the jalapeño really didn't stand out at all. We had planned well, as there was lively entertainment that night with a fiddler who was holding her CD release party with help from one of the fiddlers from the Celtic Music Centre down in Judique. The pub itself is pleasant, and a place that you can just imagine locals going to all the time (and there were certainly locals there this evening). If I get back up into Cape Breton, I will certainly be returning to the Red Shoe Pub for another taste of what Cape Breton has to offer.
