There's a nice big field good for kicking a soccer ball around (with frisbee golf targets), two play structures in decent condition, and swings, on what appears to be shredded rubber tires. When we came in the summer the rubber smelled quite rubbery. But I felt fairly confident that my kid wouldn't break anything if he fell off a structure. Tree-shaded benches. Toilets. Sinks with soap. We'll probably be back. And stop at the Starbucks on the way back to the highway.

Coalinga is not known for its amazing safety. They do keep the park cleaned up and watered regularly so the grass is plush like carpet. Whoever does the lab must enjoy their job, because it looks will taken care of On weekends you can see some families takings solace from the sun under the big trees. Lots of strollers and lots of little rugrats running around. The occasional soccer game will break out and it's like being at a free game. The bicycle vendor will come by once in a while with a cold drink. The stars, cause it's Coalinga. You feel like you need a police presence everywhere you go.

I am talking bright orange and lime green colors. And it is all in great condition. Secondly, it inspires creativity. It is not just jungle gyms and swing sets. There are zones for music (bongo drums, an unusual keyboard for playing), sand play (multi level surfaces with containers of clean, moist sand), places to crawl, jump, climb, swing, and best of all, surfaces that surround the equipment that are safely bouncy (rubberized). Not only are they easy on both little and big feet, but also perfect for those unexpected little spills and tumbles that usually end up with boo boos, splinters, scrapes, and tears. A lot less of that here. Then, there is the little amphitheater behind the large, well maintained bathroom building. They must be some rocking, good entertainment there sometimes. The grasses and shrubs are kid friendly too. I saw small children bending over to see a discovery, probably a lizard or something, that called the tall grasses around the perimeter of the park his home. There are also adult friendly benches and picnic tables. Definitely a great place to bring the little ones.

This is a really good sized park, It's got a water feature, a Gazebo, a duck pond, a Larger than…read moremost Playground, and a creek running right through the middle. With wide open spaces and plenty of trees it's a great place to take the kids for a picnic, either on the ground with a blanket, or on one of it's many picnic table. My only complaint right now is that the bridge seems to be out. My kids used to love going across the bridge, and sometimes feeding the ducks from it, but now it seems to be closed off. Once they fix, or replace the bridge, I'll raise my rating to five stars.

There is lots of parking and clean bathrooms that are open late. The park is well manicured and taken care of. There are grassy areas, picnic tables and a water feature with ducks. Great for walking your dog or a picnic and there is also a playground for the kids. It's a little off the beaten path so it feels like a bit of a secret. I wish there was a park like this closer to where I am and I highly recommend stopping by if you are in the area.

Be sure to bring water and enjoy the quick walk around the pond. Very easy accessibility for old dogs, like mine got to be at 17 years old, he lost his hearing, had cataracts but loved this park overall. The grounds are well kept with plenty of signs warning, no dogs in the pond. Just birds and lost turtles exist in there. There is stocking of fish and derby's to enter for children, where maybe you can catch a tagged fish, win a prize, if you follow activities. I spent years helping staff medical, communications and volunteers for Soccer Tournaments to be legal and full of volunteers. The 4th of July, there is a loud speaker, but last year, in the handicapped section, there was Mexican Music in competition with the speaker and music supplied. This was at the field near the Iverson Way, lower road parking, lots of handicapped parking but as I tried to show a man claiming parking was full. I pulled in anyway and he allowed me in. There were a lot of empty handicapped available, as they added many signs, last year.

I've been here at many different times in the year and the park is always filled with people enjoying the benches, gazebo, and playground. We stopped by for an hour on a Tuesday so largely had place to ourselves plus 2 other regulars. Two pools connected to larger pool and a smaller standalone pool overlooking lake. 3 bathrooms for changing, with one shower. Met the owner Norman Franklin (he says he's 7th generation descendant of Benjamin Franklin). Surrounding area not much to look at, can bring own snacks and food to bbq. I didn't know about the hot springs mud so will definitely be back next time I'm in area!

The water coming out of the pipes is probably 101, but the pool is large so most of the water is around 85-90. There's a sulfur smell because it's water from a natural hot spring. The pool is gravel at the bottom and yes there is some algae. Some ducks joined in on the fun and started swimming in the pool at one point. I took some extra mud from a nice couple who had leftovers and made myself a mud mask. The kids had a blast playing with pool noodles. If you pulled onto the dirt road and saw the casual, rustic sign, kept going, parked in the dirt lot, walked in and got pissed because you didn't get a five star spa experience for $10, that's your bad.
