Both the home and our interactions with the rental agent this year were stellar. I initially found the property on one of the other vacation rental websites, but they have their own site (http://www.seasideoregonvacations.com/) with detailed information on approx. 30 properties in the Seaside area. Different sizes (condos and houses) located on the Prom for an ocean view as well as some that are inland. The aerial maps along with the interior and exterior photos of the homes are really helpful. The initial communication via email was always prompt and cordial. The home we chose is on the market, but we were informed well in advance and it didn't end up affecting our stay at all. There were contingency plans in place if the home sold before our rental. They were flexible about our check-in and check-out times because the home wasn't rented on either side of our stay. We arrived to a clean home that reflected what we saw on-line. Always a relief. We had one minor issue during our stay and received prompt attention. If we end up returning to Seaside, they would be my first call for a beach house rental.

There was everything you would hope for... all the basics like coffee filters, spices, soaps, detergents, pots and pans, kids cups & utensils, pack n play, and much more (even stuff for the dog like bowls and a leash). Plenty of beach toys in the garage. The hot tub was hot and very clean. You can tell the owners go above and beyond to make it comfortable and cozy for the guests. A competitor wanted to just sell me another very expensive electronic blind, saying that he could not get it repaired. Jameson was honest and saved me more than $1000. I don't think I will ever stay with Meredith lodging again because they are not that hospitable or…read moreoffer compensation for bad experiences they seem to apologize, but don't offer any extra service services or a late checkout or had amenities just even simple little coffee, pods or something in the kitchen not personal at all so I will not rent from any more corporations or companies I will stick to the Mom and pop shops of Airbnb's because they believe in making someone have a more personal experience and Curated stay rather than just have your necessities and minimal things that you need for a stay and our place that we stayed in April 24-26. I had to remake a whole entire bed in one of the rooms because it was covered in animal hair so there was no double check or cleanliness check. I don't think in that room. It was totally obvious as soon as I started to rearrange the pillows on the bed I noticed all the dog hair all over and I had to rewash my sheets. They did bring sheets to us later, but still that's not what I wanted to do as soon as I already paid a $30 fee to get us in one hour earlier, which I've never really heard of and if you rent Airbnb from him, mom and Pop, then I don't think that they would've done that either. It's all about money to corporation so if you want to not experience a personal stay, do not stay with Meredith lodging

Our party stayed at Sandpiper Retreat in Waldport and after getting settled in we already noticed there was some leftover trash in spots of the garage and crumbs in various places of the house. Not going to ruin the trip and we didn't care, however, 4 hours later we were hearing strange noises around the house and then what did we find? A family of RATS in the garage, Eeeek!!! Reached out to Meredith and they have a very firm "no refunds" and "cleanliness is never 100% guaranteed" policy. Needless to say our trip was completely ruined, waste of money, and we high tailed it out of there and found a hotel nearby. The one funny thing is that one of the neighbors was walking their dog and asked us as we were leaving, "Still got critter issues going on?" (while chuckling). I don't know if RATS are that common along the Oregon Coast but I don't think it's appropriate to rent out a property unless there is complete assurance that the rental is pest free. We deal with enough raccoons when we go camping and this was not expected when booking a "classy" rental. Seems high quality pictures are used for the rentals, and then maintenance and upkeep take a back seat because the way this company operates is taking in bookings, no refund policy, deliver low quality service and send you on your way. If you book with Meredith, you'll never book with them again and quite frankly......they don't care! :)
