After a few phone calls back and forth, they finally informed me that they were! Upon arrival and after finishing a large questionnaire, I was informed there were out of network[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. Appears, they waited till I was there to call and verify such!! Very disappointed but happy at the same time that they were out of network! That office, literally, looked very bad! The chairs in the waiting room were worn out and some of the seats were ripped and torn apart. Sad looking place. A piece of furniture had a broken panel. I have never seen an office looking so poorly!! It definitely needs some TLC! They use paper charts? Who in their world nowadays still using paper charts! I've been a patient at Coast Dental for the last year and the quality of service steadily declined month by month (wasn't the best from the beginning) and now that they're short staffed it's non-existent. They're often confused about what service you're getting done at the office, rarely answer the phone, and are not very friendly when they do answer. The dentist who had done my evaluation prior said my teeth needed to be pulled and i received a payment plan of $215. i was happy with that and felt a great sence of relief knowing my teeth would be pulled later that month.They called (Surprisingly)to confirm my appointment.It was the day before i was due to have my teeth pulled. i was informed a different dentist wanted to do a 4k procedure. This was not a recommendation but a requirement according to a dentist that had not even looked in my mouth. No plans, no conversation ever took place.you could imagine my reaction with the absurdity. with that said, I never took it out on the receptionist just told her that I couldn't afford it and we needed to figure something out. She hung up on me.it took me about a month & a half to get in touch with them again. when i did get in touch i was dealing with a new kinder employee who wanted to get me rescheduled but that took some time as well. she made a point to keep mentioning "how heated i was when they informed me of the procedure" after the third time of her mentioning it. i felt it necessary to defend myself and recommend they pull the call, as apparently there was some negative comments about my composure. In that time I did seek different offices but ultimately I just felt like I was so far in with them and that it would cost hundreds out-of-pocket to have evaluations and x-rays done again and I was put on yet another script of antibiotics for the infection, so I just wanted my teeth out at this point. i went in today again for a cleaning and they said they only have me down for one appointment. again the errors.On a positive note my appointment today for another cleaning went well, they hygienist and her assistant (who also works the front desk) we're very kind and thorough. the hygienist did my deep clean a few months ago as well but this one felt more detailed oriented and she was careful. breath of fresh air thank you. you two are the reason for the added star. i just need my teeth pulled have to worry about deadly infections spreading through my face and head. the procedure he want to do is cosmetic and be fine if i didnt have two small children and if i needed and could afford it. They even told me we don't know we're or how your going to find an oral surgeon with your insurence. i never felt so defeated in my life. I've left in tears, i've been sent home for showing up with my kids with an empty office for an evaluation.( i asked they said that's fine) I was told i could not have my teeth pulled by the dentist who did my evaluation because they-have my insurence on file and he's not credentialed. no instead i have to go with the one that wants to charge me 4k out of pocket! makes sence! iam crazy for letting them touch my teeth after this review. Dr. Lewis is a good dentist and a caring individual. Unfortunately, I cannot say the same for his staff. His staff neglected to verify my insurance before Dr. Lewis began working on my teeth. The staff provided me with a treatment plan stating what the insurance would cover and the portion I would have to pay. The treatment plan came from the office's computer program, not Cigna the insurance. I understood the insurance was approved and would cover the portion of the crowns. I paid my portion of the cost for all dental work completed. A few months later I received an invoice for $1213.80. I contacted the office and was informed the insurance had not paid its portion which is why I received an invoice. I was informed to call the insurance company and give them the code for payment. In doing so, I contacted the insurance and I was informed that there was a waiting period on the crowns. Therefore, the insurance wasn't going to pay. The work was done in October 2022 the waiting period ended in November 2022. If the staff had verified the insurance, they would have been informed of the waiting period. The dental work (crowns) could have been completed in November 2022 in which case the insurance would have covered their portion of the crown's cost. Due to the incompetence and negligence of the staff's mistake, there is an invoice for $1213.80 the billing department expect me to pay. I gave the staff my insurance card for verification and they did not verify it. I was informed that the office is not going to provide any other services until the invoice is paid in full, either by me or by the insurance company they do not care. I requested a copy of the verification approval from my insurance so, I could appeal but the staff could not provide the verification notice. I was notified by his staff that they do not call or verify the insurance. The invoice is past due at this point. It's the office's staff's negligence for not requesting verification from my insurance. Why should I have to pay for their mistake, negligence, and incompetence? The crown on the upper right side is defective. It came off and on 12/07/2022 I went back to the office to have the doctor attach it again. The crown fell off again, on Monday, 01/30/2023. Don't waste your time, go to a legit competent dentist. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Was greeted telling me my insurance would t pay anything. Coast is in network for delta dental. Got that straightened out then proceeded to X-rays.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Dental hygienist then measured gums or should I say mismeasured gums as I just went to my regular dentist two days later and measurements were all healthy and they cleaning my teeth. Coast diagnosed me with periodontal diseases said I needed $1375 of unnecessary deep cleaning and antibiotics placed in my deep pockets (which my real denstist confirmed are very healthy and need no treatment). Coast on gladiolus does not currently have a dentist on site but rather they do a web meeting (zoom meeting) with a dentist that is not on site. Again hygenist misdiagnosed a condition that did not exist. They overbook, have no regard for anyones time. Employees are late. They have scheduled me for appointments and the office has been closed. This office is always rescheduling appointments last minute. Expect to be there for at the least, 2 hours even if just for a simple cleaning. They don't know how to get people in and out. They don't acknowledge you or tell you they will be right back when you are in the chair. They will leave you for about 30 minutes plus. You have to come out asking what's going on. They run out of supplies you don't get a complete service but they will still bill you. This office is garbage! read more

I have never written a review before because I just never thought I had gone through an experience, bad enough, where I need to discourage others from going to "said" place. However, this place requires it - this is the worst dentist office I've ever visited. DO NOT GO HERE! The girls (I call them that because they are extremely unprofessional) working at the front desk are very rude. You will be sitting in the lobby and hear them snickering and laughing at people they're on the phone with. "I'm sitting right here and I can hear you," is the thought that runs through your mind, the whole time you're waiting. They can't schedule any appointments correctly, if their lives depended on it. Be prepared to wait over an hour to receive service. The dental assistants automatically have an irritated tone once you're called back. I can't say enough how nasty these people are to their customers. Apparently, they hate working because every time you say something they give you a frustrated sigh. Stay away they from all Coast Dental offices, we waited 4 hours on our first appt. at the office on Summerlin, my husband and I both had numerous xrays done then taken back and thought we would get a cleaning but we had to wait for a video Dr. to review the x rays the tech brings her up on a screen in front of you and tells you that you need a program of deep cleanings and they would work up a cost for you! The hygenist tells you they can't clean your teeth if you don't do the deep scaling and cleaning. We just moved here and have been seen by a dentist every year. Neither of us ever had this issue, but both came out with the same results. We ended up having to pay $300.00 Each for the additional x rays since they were not covered by our insurance and you have to pay before you leave! I went to my first appointment. I was on time. I then waited 15 minutes and two other people had gone in. I asked at the desk if I would be getting in soon. She went back and checked. Answer running behind. At 30 minutes, after 4 other people had gone back for their appointments, I said that I would need to leave in 25 minutes. She said I would need to reschedule. I was offered 8am a month from now, which could not work, so she offered an afternoon two months from now. Coming on back again with a GREAT review! NOT so now going on 3 months for my final coast clear alinements if you call that... Called the office after leaving a message 2 weeks prior (again) only for them to say oh we'll call when its ready) we'll LOL the clear liners is every two weeks so how is it taking this long to make my last one? That you messed up in the beginning!?!? Once told i only had minor fixes that would only be 5 months they say. LOL it's going on 2 years now! They shaved my tooth down, put the "spacers" in on two of my teeth that doesn't even align to my tooth bite and now I'm waiting 3 MONTHS for my "final" because...well one, you call to expect someone to answer HA if have a better chance of getting an amazon package delivered by the time they either answer or call you back. Place is a still joke and cannot wait to never deal with them ever again. I have no idea how this establishment is still going nor would i send my worst enemy here. Just give me what i paid for! I regret not leaving sooner than I did. On my first visit there was an extremely rude dental assistant tended to me while I got x-rays of my teeth. I almost got up and left the appointment due to her behavior. She complained to another associate right in front of me that I was being a difficult patient just because she had trouble getting pictures of my teeth and I had to remind her that she was jamming a bite wing into my gums and that I had no intentions of being difficult but that I was in pain.. she showed no sympathy and didn't initiate appropriate behavior until Dr. Lewis was in the office. Dr. Lewis has lovely bed side manner but I didn't appreciate that he had no interest in helping me get treatment for my severe TMJ and I expressed a lot concern and gave examples of being in pain often. Finally, I wasn't given the consideration of getting informed when one of my cleaning appointments was canceled, I waited in the waiting room for 15 mins in an empty Dentist office before they brought me back to tell me no doctors were in the office that day. I don't appreciate having my time wasted and am questioning Dr. Lewis's judgment since he doesn't seem to have a good screening for finding competent help. read more

Nope not good took over a month to be seen for an emergency I was in awful pain, once I arrived to the office I was told I couldn't be seen because I was 9 mins late. I asked if the doctor could at least prescribed me medication until I can be seen which was gonna be another week and they said no. Couldn't be happier with this office. Switched to here after my other dentist tried to overcharge me an extra $400 for a crown. Best decision of my life. At Coast Dental I feel like I was listened to. They gave me a reasonable price and offered Care Credit so I could take care of the bill more easily. The office is cute, nicely decorated. The dentist is very professional and won't do more work than is necessary. I feel much more secure knowing I've found someone who's honest. I haven't been going there long enough to say more about it, but I've had nothing but great experiences with them so far. Front desk lady is very unpleasant. They will not let me go in with my 8 years old daughter in the treatment room. After we wait an hour before she went in for her fillings. I tried putting a review on their page and what a surprise it doesn't ever show up I tried 3 times!! I'm not one to waste my time on negative reviews but in this situation I'm writing this in hopes to save people from getting taken advantage of. This all around has to be the worst company you can receive services from. The receptionists are rude, unorganized, and will provide you with false information. If you have any issues you'd like to take up with Jessica the head manager you will maybe get a call back a year later if she decides to get your number correct after multiple calls and here's your fair warning she does not care one bit about the customer or what you have to say. The company itself is the definition of money draining, unfair selfish people that could care less about your time or health of your teeth. I am a patient at Coast Dental, I have Medicaid, many physicians don't accept Medicaid, but Coast Dental does, I was treated very well. I've had dentures made by other places, and this was by far the best experience I ever had! Dr. Ben Lewis did not treat me like a discount patient, I know that they don't get paid as much for Medicaid patients. I had to go back for one adjustment which I know is very common. Waited 35 minutes past my appointment time, first and last visit ever. I came in for a cleaning. The front desk ladies talked with attitude towards me and all other customers. One of them was on the phone with a patient, and had to repeat herself a couple of times and seemed frustrated about it. After she hung up the phone her and the other front desk lady laughed about the patient and bad talked about her together for a couple minutes. I almost left, but decided to wait to see the dentist. I get taken back finally and the lady tells me there is no hygienist there today so I couldn't get a cleaning. She had a $60 bill ready for me to pay immediately for X-rays. I came in for a CLEANING and they made me wait 35+ minutes to tell me there was no hygienist there today but they were sure ready to take my money. Ok so where to start. I started to receive calls about cancellations and their ability to see me earlier than scheduled which wouldn't be bad but I didn't asked to be placed on a cancellation list. The business day before my appointment I received a call stating that they hadn't verified my insurance and asked for the numbers. Received a call later that day with the reception complaining about all the difficulties she had verifying my dental insurance and asked me to contact the insurance and have them fact over my benefits info to them. Big warning sign there! I asked the receptionist if she could call me back if there is a co-pay to which she said that co-pay would be determined based on a treatment plan which is done after I'm seen. Today was my appointment. I arrived 15 mins early to complete 3 forms of paperwork. 45 mins after my scheduled appointment and after at least 3 other people (who arrived after me) are taken back, I'm called. The dental either tells me about the x-rays and teeth cleaning that will be done then tells me there's a $23 co-pay for one of the c-rays which is not covered. A panorama x-Ray which is not standard and is second to a full teeth c-Ray. When I questioned the purpose she said it was to locate wisdom teeth, impacted teeth, check the jaw etc. all of which could be seen on the standard x-Ray and oral exam. I know this because my wisdom teeth were removed after they were located as an issue during a standard exam. She stated that I couldn't decline the x-Ray. This was a complete waste of time and I left the appointment without any treatment done. I believe able! I think they are ripping people and their insurance off with bogus charges for services not needed. I'm so disappointed by the service here. read more

I wish I'd read the warning below of the bad experience this woman had. mine was exactly the same at their Cape Coral office. In fact I have found 6 other people who all were told the same thing. "we cant give you a cleaning unless you pay $600 to $2000 first for a special scaling and cleaning". So they deny your medicare or other approval dental which covers a cleaning. Here is the review I wrote : I read a review with a warning not to go to Coast Dental in Fort Myers so I stupidly thought the one in Cape Coral would be a different company. UNFORTUNATELY, THEY HAVE THE SAME BUSINESS MODEL AS FORT MYERS. WARNING - STAY FAR FAR AWAY I have Medicare and am supposed to get an exam and a cleaning yearly. I have had my teeth cleaned every 6 months for over 40 years and in the past my teeth would be cleaned and the doctor would come in and do an exam and report his findings. I rarely had any cavities and was never pressured to have say old fillings taken out and new ones put in. At Coast Dental they have a neat scam. They refuse to clean your teeth claiming that you have one or two spots that need extra scaling or cleaning first. I should have read they pulled this on the yelp writer. I have since found 6 people who they also did it to and all went somewhere else and found they didn't need the special work Coast dental claimed. In my case they wouldn't clean unless I paid $600 extra. The one I read on yelp was $2000. Mind you i have no problem whatsoever with bleeding or redness or puffiness . They also said I had no cavities. But refused service unless I paid first. I have checked with my old hygenists and they said that with a little massaging the number they quote on the gum scan reading will go to where it is considered within limits. I HAVE SINCE LEARNED THERE THERE ARE DISREPUTAL DENTAL COMPANIES THAT PULL THIS TYPE OF SCAM TO GET MOE MONEY CLAIMING THEY WOULD BE "NEGLIGENT" IF THEY CLEANED YOUR TEETH. AMAZING THAT I HAVE HAD OVER 100 CLEANINGS AND IN EVERY CASE BUT THIS ONE MY TEETH WERE CLEANED, I HAD THE EXAM AFTER AND HAD A GREAT EXPERIENCE AND YEARS WORTH OF CONTINUED SERVICE WITH THESE DENTISTS. COAST WAS A ONE TIME VISIT AND I HOPE IF YOU HAD A BAD EXPERIENCE YOU WILL SPREAD THE WORD TOO. I FOUND 6 PEOPLE AT A RECENT CHRISTMAS PARTY WHO ALL WENT THERE AND HAD THE SAME STORY.
