First off don't go here motel six is next to is the give u no towels. Have no heat or air conditioner. I was supposed to have a room with a microwave and did not. The guy was cool, but they r super cheap if u ask for a towel you get one. No extra roll of tp. Wifi sucked it looks cleaner then it is. This place is great! The room is cozy, beds are comfortable, towels are clean! The parking lot is well lit & it's super central location. only 3 minutes to the 5 or the beach & tons of restaurants around. I have an ocean view from our bathroom here and at night the sun sets through our window and it's absolutely beautiful! Hot showers, wifi, tv and the friendliest family owns it! They are there when you need them, even if it's at 1:00 A.M. because you misplaced your key to get in. Terrible. We arrived at approximately 6pm to check in and obtain a key. We then went directly to have dinner and some shopping before actually entering the room. We returned at roughly 9pm and When approaching the room we noticed the window was broken. Upon entering the room we discovered an odd odor and cobwebs in the doorway of the bathroom and the baseboard and walls with holes in them as well as possible mold. I've attached pictures as well for reference. I chose not to have my wife and children stay in the room and immediately returned to the front office to return the key advised the representative of the findings and requested a refund. She did not seem at all surprised of the description of the state of the room and simply advised that only the manager could authorize a refund and she wouldn't be available until Monday. I requested that she contact the manager right then and there and was declined and told I would have to wait and call on Monday. Left and went to stay in a different hotel. I refuse to pay for this reservation as the accommodations were not acceptable. read more

Check in was fine, front desk was friendly but the actual motel was super sketch. The area it was in was so nice & conveniently close to everything but this motel was beat down looking & dirty. Upon arrival into the room, it has a funky, dirty, wet dog stench to it, the beds were so close to the wall that we had to hug the wall to get to the restroom. This is hands down the most disgusting hotel I've ever stayed in. The room just looks very dirty. The walls are dirty and full of holes. The room smells really bad. The couch was so disgusting that they actually put a sheet over it to make it usable. The towels were dirty and had holes in them and there was no hot water. There was a homeless guy digging in the dumpster just outside the room and another guy selling dope in the parking lot. If I hadn't paid in advance and had anywhere else I could go at 11 o'clock at night when I got here I would have hightailed it out of here. We only stayed one night, we had no hot water, no towels, only one of the lamps had a lightbulb, the sink came apart (yes you read that right.. it came completely apart) and there was stains all over the walls. This is a filthy, seedy, dingy motel. Pay more money and stay elsewhere. The staircase is rickety and I think they rent by the hour here. The rooms are horribly renovated. I created a Yelp account just to give this place a bad review. Absolute worst place I've ever stayed. We spent less then an hour in the room before we couldn't take it any more. The stale cigarette smoke in the room was so strong it was burning our eyes and making it difficult to breath. The floor was coming up off of the ground, the drywall had holes in it, there were exposed pipes and it looked like there was mold around the toilet. The parking lot seemed to be full of "regulars" that made it feel very unsafe. I didn't even bother asking for a refund after the receptionist asked "is it even really that bad?". The lock to the door is taped on using a plastic knife, the door jams are all busted, the shower head has a hole around it, the chair in our room was filthy dirty, the tv screen was broken, there was one decent bed & one crappy bed. Absolutely the worst hotel I've stayed at. Place looked like it had just been quickly wiped down and the sheets smelled funny. Bathroom was decently cleaned but no towels or anything of that sort. Long story short, my family and I were looking for a motel that was near the beach and low priced. We usually came across a couple of good motels like this in the past, but the Coast Inn was far beyond from being considered a good motel. As the office may seem somewhat welcoming, the staff and I mean the entire staff could literally care less for any of the guests comfort or their needs. 1. The Area - As we look around, we noticed some sketchy individuals who seemed to be up to no good around the motel they even wandered around the property for countless minutes without even being noticed by the people who run the place. 2. The Office - Very friendly owner we were talking to for about maybe seven minutes, this gave us the idea that this motel might not be so bad even though what it looked like on the outside. During our stay, there is another lady and a gentlemen who usually ran the front desk during night time or afternoon hours. The guy seemed nice but the second lady who I encountered wasn't being as friendly as I was to her. Talk about being unkind and disrespectful. 3. Wi-Fi - This day in age, pretty much everyone NEEDS TO HAVE INTERNET ACCESS! Another slap on the head moment, their Wi-Fi DOES NOT WORK! As we stayed for four days, we could not get a single person to let us know what was going on with the wi-fi. I was told almost everyday during our stay that it was in the process of being fixed or that they would restart their router/modem. I even overheard two guests saying that they will be packing up their bags as soon as possible after finding out that the wi-fi was complete bogus. If you are the person that relies on wi-fi as much as I do, avoid this place AT ALL COSTS! 4. Our Room - As we were speaking to the women who owns the place, we soon learned that the first room we were going to stay in had NO AIR CONDITIONING! Only a ceiling fan and some windows. As another individual in my family pointed out (during the conversation after the discussion of no a.c. in the room) the terrible review I gave another motel that we stayed in just about five minutes away, the women immediately switched gears and upgraded our room to one that had working A.C. free of charge. As we proceed to our room (Room 120) they had these card sensor readers to get the door unlocked which was pretty cool until a day later it stopped reading our cards correctly and I had to wait approximately 4 minutes to get one new card. Anyways, back to the room entrance, it only took me two seconds to realize that I should just go down to get my money back. Well, it was too late for that, might as well just work with it! The "vinyl wood flooring" that was inside was already starting to just come apart. A hole in the wall, the size of a golfball near the night stand was present. Hard to move inside the room because the end of the bed and the wall were so close to each other you had to actually turn sideways in order to get through. Beds were also somewhat uncomfortable. Now the bathroom... Let's put it this way, buy a mirror, iron, and a hair dryer because these are not included. You do get an okay view of the ocean from the two windows inside the bathroom, but look down directly in the back of the motel's property and you will have to just close your eyes and the window, eye sore of trash. Shower was okay also, but be sure to pack EXTRA towels, which brings me on to a better part of this motel. 5. Housekeeping / Maid Service - You're better off bringing a lot of towels with you before checking into this motel. Oh and don't forget the toilet paper! So, we ran out of toilet paper on our second day of staying here and we asked the front desk for some more toilet paper and bathroom towels at around 8:15 AM. The second lady who doesn't own it but is probably just a front desk office worker or a manger said that the maid will get us some within a few minutes if not then an hour. We then depart to the beach at around 9:10 AM and come back at 4:30 PM, where's the toilet paper? Where's the towels we requested 7 hours ago? I then had to look for a maid who was more nicer than the front desk individual for more of those items, she said she would give them to us after she finished cleaning a room. About 20 minutes later she arrived with two rounds of toilet paper and a fresh batch of clean towels. So we needed more towels on the third day and the situation replays itself! 6. People Live Here?!? - I may be wrong on this one but if you look to the left side of the property room numbers 1-5 or 1-6 you can clearly and possibly see that there are actual people living on the property. Almost every night there are about 4 or more sketchy people who enter the property and talk to the people that live on the left side of the motel. Try avoid sitting or standing outside your room during night time hours and always watch your vehicle. To conclude, be aware of your surroundings and your loved ones. AVOID this place if you have children! read more

This place was great for the money. 75.00 got us a very nice room, other than the road noise from passing cars it was quiet and the staff was very very nice. So I would recommend the deluxe room to anyone that would like a nice place to sleep. It's not the Ritz but I liked it very much. read more

This hotel has rooms with very thin walls and you can hear everything going on in the rooms next to you. The air conditioner in the room did not work at all and the room gets hot/humid fast. The bed was so much smaller than what was supposed to be offered online. Queen looked like full size bed. There is no ice available here but you can walk over to the nearby hotel for their ice. The wash and dryer are limited usage. Area is a little sketchy. You definitely get what you pay for but MOTEL 6 would still beat this place hands down. My opinion this place was way over priced for the type of room. Exception is that you are close to the beach but no views of it what so ever. read more

This place was a huge disappointment. We booked and paid for the DELUXE room, they gave us a regulat room. They said they would refund us the difference, after we checked out they REFUSED. The AC unit was broken. They pffered us a fan, the fridge was leaking. The room was supposed to have simple things like SHOWER TOWELS, and a blow dryer. We received neither. When we requested towels they arrived 45 minutes later and they were torn and stained. It was pretty disturbing. Then the final straw was the roaches in the restroom. We had NO where else to go, everywhere was sold out and when we requested at least a PARTIAL refund, they refused and threated to call the police on us. It was pretty insane. This place deswrve ZERO STARS. Next time pay the extra $30- $40 and stay and the Best Western or even the La Quinta. This place was absolutely horrid. read more

Hilarious looking back on it now, but I booked a room here for thanksgiving first time seeing my bf (now husband) in one year. Luckily I checked in before picking him up... I was lucky enough to get a room close to the highway, which was very clean and well decorated/furnished. I didn't experience any of the problems noted in other reviews (mold, dirt, etc.) and found the overall experience very comfortable. There is full cable and good water pressure. It is true that there are very marginal folks living in the back rooms (I'm guessing sex workers and people using and/or dealing street drugs daily) and I saw someone trying to break into cars in the parking lot. I'm pretty hearty so I was able to mind my own business but I would have felt very uncomfortable staying in a room near them and definitely wouldn't recommend this place for families with young children. There's no coffee makers in the room and the housekeeping is inconsistent (i.e. not every day). But if I could get the same room, I'd stay there again as it is a very good value. read more

I felt like I was in a motel that was frequented by hookers and drug users in teh movies. Our room had one bed that barely had room to pass by at the foot of the bed, a ceiling fan, no a/c, no phone in room. Their advertised 32" flt screen was actually 2-", horrible shower that you could not stand up in and the water was luke warm. Sink only let out cold water. Internet was advertised but the man at the front desk said too many people were on it. So he turned off teh router, put me on and I guess others now were without internet. There were holes in teh walls, ants on the ground and dead mice feces in teh bathroom. And to finish it off parking is horrible with many of the spots taken up by abandoned cars and trucks. WSe paid over $150.00 per night for this fleabag motel. What a mistake I made, dont you! read more

Booking this room was one of my worst travel experiences ever. The hotel was grossly misrepresented and disgusting. I gave the front desk my credit card and id upon arrival only to find my reserved room was dirty, had a horrible smell, A/C not working, pillows soiled and a dripping faucet. Additionally there were transient permanent residents living in deplorable conditions on the same property. I informed the attendant of my concerns and their misrepresentations and demanded to cancel my reservation and provide a refund. They refused. We left forfeiting our payment. #1 If you book it, it's yours! No cancellations. The website said it had air conditioning. Not true. I think some of the rooms had it but most do not. There is no where to hang any clothes. No closet. Bathroom window has no screen. Light switch power plug in the bathroom had no wall plate! Sink in the bathroom about to fall off the wall. Plug in bed area controlled by light switch in the bathroom. Bed is right up against the wall, only way to the other side of the room is shimmy between the wall and bed. WiFi signal strength good, but would not stay on. They must have changed the mattresses recently. All the old ones were stacked around the building. My recommendation, spend the extra $50 and go somewhere else. read more

Shady people .. Shady ass place and i grew up on Oceanside so this is ridiculous .. I came to check in first thing I see someone getting arrested and they're walking her in handcuffs around the complex ??!! What the??? There's like 5 cops and we have kids with us so.... This is ridiculous! come into the room and it's fairly small the walls are dirty and the towels in the bathroom are stained !! Omg!' I'm already feeling gross by just walking into the room.. to make things worse I'm getting a rash and all I've done is take a shower and sat on the bed?? honestly AVOID coming here .. The cops were walking behind our room and our windows were wide open no screen so they can see into the god d*mn bathroom and it looked like someone had broken in through the back I feel like the owner / manager doesn't even know what's going on .. Or he doesn't give a f ... Surprised people still come here fml next time I'm spending an extra bucks to get a hotel next door.... Oh and btw the wifi doesn't work my kids needed it for their devices .. Stayed here last minute for a resting stay. Stayed up on the second floor towards the back corner rooms. Parking is very small and it's inconveniently located in the center of a light on a busy street. Be careful coming in, you could really mess up your bumper if your car is low (I just scraped). It's a sketchy area where hookers and druggies of Oceanside go. I always avoid this area as a local but this one time was not the case. I won't be doing that again. The room is very small. Barely any walking room because the beds take up the whole space and awkwardly fit against the wall in front of the door and bathroom. The beds were comfortable though. There was a big tv on the wall, the bathroom is not very clean. Just sketchy and run down. I wouldn't recommend this place to anybody. I didn't know where to put my key when I checked out as nobody was up front so I left it on the counter. Just don't do it unless you absolutely HAVE to. read more

The pictures you see are nothing compared to the room. Room smells like it's under construction. The floorboard and walls were cracked, holes in the walls and the peephole in the door was covered with a coffee sugar wrapper.
