Terrible. We arrived at approximately 6pm to check in and obtain a key. We then went directly to have dinner and some shopping before actually entering the room. We returned at roughly 9pm and When approaching the room we noticed the window was broken. Upon entering the room we discovered an odd odor and cobwebs in the doorway of the bathroom and the baseboard and walls with holes in them as well as possible mold. I've attached pictures as well for reference. I chose not to have my wife and children stay in the room and immediately returned to the front office to return the key advised the representative of the findings and requested a refund. She did not seem at all surprised of the description of the state of the room and simply advised that only the manager could authorize a refund and she wouldn't be available until Monday. I requested that she contact the manager right then and there and was declined and told I would have to wait and call on Monday. Left and went to stay in a different hotel. I refuse to pay for this reservation as the accommodations were not acceptable.

Nasty wet towel not from us

I would leave negative stars if I could but I can't. It's so nasty. There was brown stains on the blankets (looked like poop tbh) vomit in the trash can, Stains on all the lamps, hairs in the bed and counter tops, cigarette burns on the shower curtain and a wet towel on the bathroom sink. Im putting pics to prove the nastiness. I went and got a refund cause I couldn't stay there for the next 4 days.

This is hands down the most disgusting hotel I've ever stayed in. The room just looks very dirty. The walls are dirty and full of holes. The room smells really bad. The couch was so disgusting that they actually put a sheet over it to make it usable. The towels were dirty and had holes in them and there was no hot water. There was a homeless guy digging in the dumpster just outside the room and another guy selling dope in the parking lot. If I hadn't paid in advance and had anywhere else I could go at 11 o'clock at night when I got here I would have hightailed it out of here. This place should really be condemned and leveled.

NEVER EVER again. This place is not only falling apart but disgustingly dirty. We only stayed one night, we had no hot water, no towels, only one of the lamps had a lightbulb, the sink came apart (yes you read that right.. it came completely apart) and there was stains all over the walls. When we brought the owner to look at the sink he was completely rude and refused to do anything about it. I can't believe this place is open, the health department needs to make a visit and shut this crap hole down because it's clear the owners don't plan on doing anything about well.. anything. I should have read the reviews before I booked.

This is a filthy, seedy, dingy motel. Pay more money and stay elsewhere. The staircase is rickety and I think they rent by the hour here. The rooms are horribly renovated. It's all mismatched furniture. Walls and outlets are dirty. No air-conditioning, only fans. And they are overpriced for what they charge...way overpriced!!! Take out a loan, borrow from a relative if you need to, to stay at any place but here. See my pictures.

I created a Yelp account just to give this place a bad review. Absolute worst place I've ever stayed. We spent less then an hour in the room before we couldn't take it any more. The stale cigarette smoke in the room was so strong it was burning our eyes and making it difficult to breath. The floor was coming up off of the ground, the drywall had holes in it, there were exposed pipes and it looked like there was mold around the toilet. The parking lot seemed to be full of "regulars" that made it feel very unsafe. I didn't even bother asking for a refund after the receptionist asked "is it even really that bad?". I'll dispute with my credit card company on Monday.

    The lock for the door

If I could give less than 1 star I absolutely would. The lock to the door is taped on using a plastic knife, the door jams are all busted, the shower head has a hole around it, the chair in our room was filthy dirty, the tv screen was broken, there was one decent bed & one crappy bed. There wasn't an air conditioner as in other photos, just a ceiling fan. There are holes in the walls that have been patched terribly. There isn't daily house keeping, not ice machine for guests, I could keep going

Long story short, my family and I were looking for a motel that was near the beach and low priced. We usually came across a couple of good motels like this in the past, but the Coast Inn was far beyond from being considered a good motel. As the office may seem somewhat welcoming, the staff and I mean the entire staff could literally care less for any of the guests comfort or their needs. 1. The Area - As we look around, we noticed some sketchy individuals who seemed to be up to no good around the motel they even wandered around the property for countless minutes without even being noticed by the people who run the place. 2. The Office - Very friendly owner we were talking to for about maybe seven minutes, this gave us the idea that this motel might not be so bad even though what it looked like on the outside. During our stay, there is another lady and a gentlemen who usually ran the front desk during night time or afternoon hours. The guy seemed nice but the second lady who I encountered wasn't being as friendly as I was to her. Talk about being unkind and disrespectful. 3. Wi-Fi - This day in age, pretty much everyone NEEDS TO HAVE INTERNET ACCESS! Another slap on the head moment, their Wi-Fi DOES NOT WORK! As we stayed for four days, we could not get a single person to let us know what was going on with the wi-fi. I was told almost everyday during our stay that it was in the process of being fixed or that they would restart their router/modem. I even overheard two guests saying that they will be packing up their bags as soon as possible after finding out that the wi-fi was complete bogus. If you are the person that relies on wi-fi as much as I do, avoid this place AT ALL COSTS! 4. Our Room - As we were speaking to the women who owns the place, we soon learned that the first room we were going to stay in had NO AIR CONDITIONING! Only a ceiling fan and some windows. As another individual in my family pointed out (during the conversation after the discussion of no a.c. in the room) the terrible review I gave another motel that we stayed in just about five minutes away, the women immediately switched gears and upgraded our room to one that had working A.C. free of charge. As we proceed to our room (Room 120) they had these card sensor readers to get the door unlocked which was pretty cool until a day later it stopped reading our cards correctly and I had to wait approximately 4 minutes to get one new card. Anyways, back to the room entrance, it only took me two seconds to realize that I should just go down to get my money back. Well, it was too late for that, might as well just work with it! The "vinyl wood flooring" that was inside was already starting to just come apart. A hole in the wall, the size of a golfball near the night stand was present. Hard to move inside the room because the end of the bed and the wall were so close to each other you had to actually turn sideways in order to get through. Beds were also somewhat uncomfortable. Now the bathroom... Let's put it this way, buy a mirror, iron, and a hair dryer because these are not included. You do get an okay view of the ocean from the two windows inside the bathroom, but look down directly in the back of the motel's property and you will have to just close your eyes and the window, eye sore of trash. Shower was okay also, but be sure to pack EXTRA towels, which brings me on to a better part of this motel. 5. Housekeeping / Maid Service - You're better off bringing a lot of towels with you before checking into this motel. Oh and don't forget the toilet paper! So, we ran out of toilet paper on our second day of staying here and we asked the front desk for some more toilet paper and bathroom towels at around 8:15 AM. The second lady who doesn't own it but is probably just a front desk office worker or a manger said that the maid will get us some within a few minutes if not then an hour. We then depart to the beach at around 9:10 AM and come back at 4:30 PM, where's the toilet paper? Where's the towels we requested 7 hours ago? I then had to look for a maid who was more nicer than the front desk individual for more of those items, she said she would give them to us after she finished cleaning a room. About 20 minutes later she arrived with two rounds of toilet paper and a fresh batch of clean towels. So we needed more towels on the third day and the situation replays itself! 6. People Live Here?!? - I may be wrong on this one but if you look to the left side of the property room numbers 1-5 or 1-6 you can clearly and possibly see that there are actual people living on the property. Almost every night there are about 4 or more sketchy people who enter the property and talk to the people that live on the left side of the motel. Try avoid sitting or standing outside your room during night time hours and always watch your vehicle. To conclude, be aware of your surroundings and your loved ones. AVOID this place if you have children!

The first summer was partial ocean view with a balcony and the second, third, and fourth booking we paid an upgrade for an ocean view with a balcony. After checking in this July at 11:30 am, we got into our room at 2:30 pm. We discovered that we didn't have a balcony like the other 3 visits. Instead, we had a Juliet or faux balcony. We could only step outside, not move around, nor sit. The balcony was essentially a giant window looking at their sister property Mission Pacific and the street. We had no balcony to sit and look at the ocean view we booked and PREPAID for as an upgrade 5 months prior to the stay. I called the front desk. They claimed we booked a room with a Juliet balcony and had no other availability. This is untrue, per the listing image I have included in this review. They offered us a balcony with city view or a room with a king-sized bed. We were a family of 4 traveling with 2 teenagers. They offered no other help or compensation. At Costco's suggestion, I asked about their sister property next door and I asked them to include the reduced valet and our food credits that were part of the February package we already paid for. When I checked in next door at Mission Pacific, I discovered our reservation hadn't been transferred. It had only been re-booked and we needed to pay the market rate for the next 4 nights even though we pre-paid $2300+ for Seabird back in February. I spent at least a half-hour at the front desk trying to negotiate and get a room resembling what we had paid for 5 months ago. MP's management was great and was able to accommodate our requests. After THREE HOURS of stressing and trying to solve this issue, we finally had some type of resolution. We stayed at MP from July 6-10. At about 4pm July 10, Seabird Hyatt emailed me to remind me that they arranged for our move to Mission Pacific, and provided a $300 resort credit along with discounted valet parking as a gesture of goodwill. ABSOLUTELY NOT! They made us a reservation only, and the resort credit and discounted valet parking was part of the package we paid for back in February! Absolutely NOTHING was provided as a gesture of goodwill. Furthermore, our Costco package included a rental car that we had no intention of using, but the price was cheaper. We ended up losing about $36 for the stress of booking at Seabird Hyatt, with an upgraded room with ocean view that was downgraded upon arrival. Seabird had the entire week of our stay to contact us and attempt to make things right. We are quite disappointed in the way this hotel treats their return guests. I do not recommend Seabird Hyatt in Oceanside, California at all.

The front desk was consistently unreachable by phone throughout our stay, which made accessing the resort fee amenities we paid for nearly impossible. Pros: 1.located between 78 and 76 freeways and easy to get to most shopping areas. 2. Change was always available for the laundry. 5. Amenities: Pool and Jacuzzi. Fire pit, BBQ grill. Gym, laundry room. Tiny mini mart with alcohol and junk food for last minute grabs. 6. Continental breakfast everyday. As vegans, we enjoyed cereal (varies), oats (cooked in water) with a variety of toppings (brown sugar, nuts, coconut flakes, raisins, etc), potatoes, bagels, fresh fruit (usually bananas), orange juice, and coffee. Oat milk was available upon request (we knew to ask for it because the lady who checked us in said it was available). 7. Rooms had a kitchenette which included: electric mini stove with 2 burners (no oven), full size fridge, microwave, stove, single cup coffee pot, full size dishwasher. Also included pans, colander, mugs, cups, wine glasses, utensils, knives, cutting board, wine/bottle opener, bowls, plates, large cooking utensils, dish towels, dish soap, paper towels, and dishwasher pods. Cons: 1. Although I've always been excited for salsa nights,, the Junkyard Restaurant in the same shopping center was pretty rowdy on a Tuesday night and you could totally hear and feel the music, even over our sound machines. 2. The sofa bed sheets had not been changed since their last guest.l when we checked in. 3. I always had to request extra towels from the lobby because when we chose to have our room serviced, they took all the towels and did not replace the same number of towels. 4. The pans were scratched up badly. No way it's safe to cook in those pans unless you're wanting to eat Teflon and other leaching chemicals. 5. When I had questions about the waffles containing dairy or egg, the tall white man replied rudely. If I recall correctly he said, "of course it does, why wouldn't it.?!" His tone and manner of speaking took me by surprise since he appeared to be management. Another employee had said it was vegan but because I know better being vegan, I needed to confirm. My husband also asked him if they had a particular cereal my daughter had the previous day and he was also rude to my husband. This was on 2 separate days so it's fair to say this guy has a bad attitude and no empathy for others. This probably irked me the most out of my hotel experience. 6. Another guest before us stuck the wrong detergent in the washer and caused the foam to bubble out of the machine on our load. 7. No vegan options other than alcohol in the mini mart in the hotel. It would have been nice to have a few things without dairy, 8. Table was only big enough for 2. We had our kids eat at the desk. 9. Carpet is dirty- as in your feet and socks are black/brown after walking on the carpet. 10. Only no add Netflix accounts can take advantage of signing in to the Netflix account on the smart TV. Overall, I would probably stay here if I had to, but probably wouldn't be my first choice.

The business center is there for free printing if needed. The rooms are a nice size and of course there's flatware and plates and pans for cooking if you need it. The only current knock that I have is the ac didn't get below 68. This is pretty common in San Diego hotels that the ac doesn't function properly. If you like to sleep at 66 degrees don't expect the ac to be able to get the room temp down that low. I'm sure once it gets worse then they will replace their system. Great job guys.
