You could never really go wrong booking with Marriott. All went well except for the fact that 3/4 of us had some sort of bites. At first, i thought it was just me then another mentioned the same and the 3rd person also said the same thing while getting ready to leave. We were going to say something upon leaving but completey got distracted. It is a bit scary thinking that the beds may have some bugs? Hopefully there aren't any but i would be careful. read more

This Courtyard by Marriott is about 6-10 minutes inland from the main Oceanside areas. The lobby area has many tables for hotel stayers to eat and hang out. The staff is very kind and diligent, it made a good impression. I had a room with two queen beds (spacious) with a nice view of the pool area. The room and bathroom isn't the newest in aesthetic, but it got the job done. The main pain points for me was the room lighting (one side was significantly dimmer than the other with all lights on) and the bed blankets (it was oddly arranged and extremely uncomfortable). In short, I didn't have the best sleep. Parking is $7 - this was something I truly thought could have been free, as there were plenty of spaces available. Overall, the location is convenient and I'd consider staying here again. read more

We were going to a wedding not to far from this hotel, so made reservations. We were greeted by Gabriel who was very friendly and checked us in. Every-time he saw us, said how were we doing addressing us by our name. Most employees do not remember names. Our room had two spacious rooms, one with a King bed. The bed was pretty comfortable compared to some other hotels that we have stayed at. They had food and a full bar, but we did not partake. If we are ever down this way again, I would stay here. We had 2) TV's, microwave, refrigerator and a small sink. It was just too bad we were only there to sleep and shower. read more

The hotel is functional and meets the minimum standard. Rooms are clean, beds are comfy enough. There is no microwave and the fridge control knob was broken so the fridge was hot. We had to get ice to keep yogurt cold. Parking is $7 per night and it just seems like an unnecessary uncharge. Member perks were nice. We received two waters, $20 food credit and an additional hour to checkout. When we requested late checkout, it was initially denied and we were told housekeeping had 130 rooms to turnover so late checkout wasn't an option. He then asked how much time I needed and we said 1pm and that's when he said oh that's fine. The pool area and jacuzzi didn't look well kept. The food at the café was pretty good. We ordered French toast (10/10), breakfast burrito (a bit dry 7/10), breakfast bowl (8/10), yogurt, bagel, coffee cake. Prices were higher than expected but the credit helped. read more

This hotel definitely did its job as far as location goes, since we needed something close to the soccer fields. This hotel turned out to be walkable distance, which was great as several families walked in order to save parking fees. The hotel room was fine, and had a mini fridge and coffee maker. The bathroom had large stand-up shower. I felt like the water pressure was a little low, but definitely good enough to get cleaned up. There were ice machines near the elevator and the workout gym has a filtered water machine. Pool was adequate for kids, and parking was included in the rate that I booked using Bonvoy. Luckily they don't have in/out gates for parking that require a room key. You just place a parking pass on your dashboard at night. Don't expect anything fancy, but if you can book at a good price, it's a good choice and short drive to food. read more

This trip was to Oceanside. I had never been there before. I decided to try a different Marriott than usual because the bed comfort situation is really getting to me as I am now a regular hotel guest up and down Highway 5. We wanted to stay in Oceanside as we were looking at some properties there. I made a reservation at the Courtyard. Oh my goodness. It felt like I was driving forever to get to it and I think we did but what an oasis when we landed there. This hotel is hell and gone from the beach but it is in a quiet and affluent area. Even the parking lot felt like a vacation! The sky was beautiful. The palm trees were swaying. There was ample parking spaces. We were in luxury land and we hadn't even stepped foot in the hotel. I was very hopeful. The front of the hotel is so nice! We went in and were impressed with the lobby and the bistro. The gal at the front desk was friendly and efficient. When we got to our room, it was standard but ohhh the bed. Thank you Lord for this bed! It was the comfiest bed ever! I was so happy. I would recommend this hotel if you want a quiet nights sleep in a really safe area in an extremely comfortable bed! read more

We book the Courtyard Marriott because of its location is close to Frontwave Arena. We were in town for a concert and needed a place to stay. The Courtyard Marriott was perfect! The staff was very nice especially Lukas at the front desk. Our room was comfortable and quiet. Parking was easy to navigate and even at night there were plenty of spaces in the back of the building. I really liked the shower, plenty of hot water and plenty of pressure. My only complaints is they need to sell drip coffee in the coffee bar. We will definitely be staying at the Courtyard Marriott in the future. read more

Was not that impressive. This is the Spirit Airlines of hotels. Every step of the way they tack on extra charges. Coffee prices like you are at the airport. They charge for parking even though it is not in any kind of downtown location. The cell coverage in rooms is terrible so you can't really use your phone. This courtyard is located in an area full of business offices/corporate centers in Oceanside. The bistro restaurant is open early in the morning and then reopens at 5pm for dinner. The same hours for the Starbucks on location. Courtyards really vary from location to location but this one is one of the better ones. Free parking and 15 mins to the beach. Nothing to walk to, you need to drive to get food. I was here for work so not a big deal for me. They need to include free breakfast-- even the lower end Marriotts have them. The staff were friendly and allowed me to check in super early. The rooms were good-- there's a mini fridge and the bed was comfy. I appreciate that you can swivel the TV and the stand it's on. I had a business trip in Oceanside and this hotel was recommended and nearby. The staff was friendly as checking in was a breeze. Across from the lobby was place where you could order food. We got there after 10PM and they were closed. We did enjoy two bagels for $15 the following morning. The bed was comfortable and the unit was very clean. I found this particular Marriott Courtyard location to be very well maintained, neat and clean. It had the appearance of actually being brand new, but I was told it's actually over 10 years old. It's located a few miles inland from the coast. There aren't any stores or restaurants nearby, so you basically will have to get in your car and drive somewhere to do anything outside the hotel. The Courtyard's do not offer a free breakfast, but you can purchase one as they do have an eatery in the lobby. It's a little pricey, but not terribly so. Free parking is plentiful all around the perimeter of the building. read more

With my 4 year old son...stayed last night with my Marriott Rewards points. Checked in, no hassle. Checked in and the front desk person called up to say he saw my room lreference says "featger free" and offered to bring us some other pillows. I thanked that young man and said I keep that as a preference but since I booked last minute I know they didnt have time to see that request and I was fine-its a preference, not an allergy...but thought it was a classy move to call. I have an upcoming trip and need to add another day. I call Courtyard, of course, and then I have to go through a series of questions to get where I want to go. Finally, I am put on hold, but they say the easiest way is to go online and book. I go online, and it doesn't accept the last password I entered, so I then have to change my password. I finally got logged into their website. I go to MyTrips, click View/Modify room, and I get a never-ending circle for over 2 minutes. The page that appears displays a '502 Bad Gateway' error. I then go through the same process again, and then, of course, the 2-minute circling. However, the page then says, "This site can't be reached." Now I am back to calling their +1 760-966-1000 number. I now get the same generated voice telling me that they will send me a text to change my reservation. To look up the reservation, I need to enter the Confirmation Number. I entered the confirmation number 80867061, which I copied and pasted into my calendar. I get the message. We cannot locate your reservation. If you believe you entered the correct information, please call the Reservation Center. I verified that the confirmation number was correct, and it was. Now my dog has a vet appointment, and I have to go to it, so I have to quit trying and start the process again later. What may be 45 minutes - 1 hour wasted. read more

Great spot in Oceanside! Has Covid restrictions. Must wear mask in the hotel, no house cleaning (leave it in the front door they will pick it up) but overall great service anytime you call the front desk or need clean towels they bring it straight to your door. They do serve Starbucks in the lobby, but they don't take Starbucks gift cards. -I used the laundry room and it was great! Very convenient. They sell pods at the front for a dollar, $2.50 to operate washer and dryer -gym is closed during COVID (sad because it would be nice to use) -Pool is open -staff was friendly and attentive read more

As far as hotels go, I was happy with my stay as long as I stayed out of the front reception/food area. The area is safe, and proximity to things was convenient. The hotel was very clean - the gym, the restrooms, the lobby and sitting area, the hallways and elevator. My room was extremely comfortable and spacious. I loved the view overlooking the pool (although I did hear plenty of noise from out there, especially music). If I never dealt with the Bistro or front desk, I'd be eager to stay again. Upon check-in, it was made abundantly clear that if I cut my stay short, I will be charged fees. That's weird & tacky, but I'll assume they get that happening a lot so they're trying to preempt it. Got it. My first two nights at the Bistro went off without a hitch. The employee was authentically friendly, and I was very happy with the service and what I ordered. But one morning I tried to order breakfast, and was told information that contradicted what the front desk had told me upon check-in (regarding loyalty credits, etc.); I had to walk over to the check-in person to double-check, and sure enough this person also told me information contradicting what I'd been told at check-in. I got the tiniest trite apology. Fine, I'll roll with it. The next two times I tried to order from the Bistro, I got different info than each time before; and again with zero care toward friendliness or customer service. My last morning, I psyched myself up for dismissive customer service and another switch of information... and then there was nobody at the Bistro working. After waiting quite a while in a line going nowhere, I went to the 3 employees at the front desk to ask if anyone is working the Bistro, and they sent someone over as if it was no big deal I'd been standing there for so long. All of my frustrations were centered around the front desk and Bistro (lack of consistent info, and lack of customer care). This aggravation causes me to want to stay elsewhere. Besides that, it really was a great stay. I will likely come back, but in the future I'll plan to not use the Bistro for my food needs. read more

Overall a nice stay. The check in process was quick and easy. The room was large, comfortable, and clean. The bathroom door didn't work properly but not a big deal and the bathroom otherwise was fine. The hotel was nice and quiet. The elevator near the room didn't work about half the time and it was nice to have a Starbucks in the lobby but it was never open when we attempted to go. Last time we were here I got a UTI from the hot tub! One thing I learned from the nurse-on-call: never, ever sit on the edge of a hot tub. That's where the trouble lives. So, we come back And I now know to never sit on a hot tub ledge. All is good. So I go to the gym for a workout and find the stationary bike is old. Really old. Like old iPod connector old. The touchscreen doesn't work either. Whatever. The pedals work. This place is ok. Just don't expect it to be great. And, you'll need a car. There is NOTHING close by. read more

This Marriott masquerades as a classy Marriott yet is more like a fake Kardashian. Nothing glitters here & it doesn't even try. It is a true Courtyard that doesn't deserve the Marriott name after it. Had there been any other hotels not overbooked we would've moved there. The hotel placed a charge on my card that was far in excess of the room cost for one night. It was not a hold but the entire amount for a week! The 'hold' was not disclosed to me when I checked in. When I got the unexpected alert from my bank, I would've been content with a reversal but they refused. I'm aware it's a security deposit in case you trash the room, and generally, the more expensive the room, the more generous the hold is. The room itself was garbage. We paid for a highly upgraded room with a living area and walk-in shower but didn't get that. The couch is decades old and has seen better (I doubt it) days, the fabric is dirty, you sink into the seats, even the chairs. The beds are uncomfortable, you roll into and sink into a 'ditch' in the middle. The TV is so small you can't see it from either the bed or the couch. The mini fridge is so old the best you could get from it was lukewarm drinks. It's the little annoying things. The decor is early 70's, not kidding. When I asked to move to a newer room, none were available (of course), and.. they said, "We can't guarantee you a better firmer bed if we move your room because all our beds are the same". This hotel masquerades as a Marriott, yet they have no food or drinks available in the room, there is no room service or concierge. The staff that runs the front desk are the same people who fill in for their Bistro cafe by putting a frozen pizza or hamburger in the oven to serve you. Eek! i guess for future reference, when they tell you the hotel is completely booked up, and then they say they've only got one room...and then they ask if you would mind staying the night in a handicap room and that it is just a room made for deaf people, and so naturally you ask them what does that mean? like what is the difference? and she's like, it's not really that different from a normal room, except there's a door bell that makes a light flash in the room for deaf people to know when someone is at the door...and you think, well that seems like it wouldn't be a problem at all...well...what they meant to say is that it's a deaf room because the bed is adjacent to the main stairs and every 5 minutes the walls shake as people come pounding down the stairs and slamming the door outside all night long and early in the morning! read more

We got married, and at a different Marriott that night we needed to find a new hotel at 11:00 at night because they literally could not find us a clean room without bed bugs. This hotel has OVER charged my account twice, once when I check out and again a month later. When I called to ask them why in the world they are doing this I got multiple excuses that were all bogus and when they ran out of lies they told me they can't fix it and to dispute it with my bank. Their customer service is incredibly lacking and they do not respect younger customers. My entire stay there they gave me disrespect and attitude when I tried to be as polite as possible. Let me start by saying that I stay exclusively at Marriott properties whenever I travel. However, this one left a bad taste in my mouth and so I wanted to share. We were checked in to Room 303, and that room smells like cigarette smoke. I requested some spray that helped minimally to cover the smell. The bed was rock hard. There are no USB plugs anywhere in the room. Even the clock radio has the old docking connection. The outlets on the wall under the lamps don't hold the sockets in tightly so while I thought my phone was charging during the night, it wasn't. The socket on the right side actually didn't appear to work at all. We both woke up with backaches. There is no free breakfast. You can hear people walking around in their rooms upstairs. Needless to say, the next morning I was quite upset and wanted to shorten my stay but that would not have been allowed without a one night penalty. Fortunately, they moved us to a room on the fourth floor that smelled clean and with much more comfortable beds. Also, we purchased some items from the snack area during our stay, and later found out that the prices are higher than what was shown on the price sheet posted. As an example, the price sheet listed the cereal at $2.75-when I decided to pay cash, I was told it was $5. When I pointed out the discrepancy, the gal just said that the prices have gone way up and then she promptly took the price sheet off the wall. No attempt to honor the prices on the list. These are just some things to keep in mind if you decide to stay here! Bring your charging plugs, definitely ask for a new room if yours smells and don't buy anything from the snack area! I struggled with the rating system for this hotel. I could have easily given this property 4 stars if not for some issues related with comfort and services not rendered due to the pandemic. The property looks clean and the entry area very modern. A typical Courtyard by Marriott. Easy check-in process and off to our room we go. The room is nice and provides a coffee maker, refridgerator, walk-in shower and odd placed large TV. The negative of the room is the very hard bed and the shower that has very little water pressurer. The other frustration is cleaning service of the room. Almost 2 years into the pandemic they still don't provide service to the room daily. You can request it but you need to make sure you are out of the room for them to service it. Perhaps not a big deal but when you are charging the rates they are and able to reduce your workforce because most will not have their rooms cleaned is somewhat wrong. We ordered breakfast daily in the little Cafe. Breakfast sandwiches are around $10 and they are smaller than the ones from McDumps. They also managed to take all of the flavor out of their breakfast sandwiches. So eat to eat and not eat to enjoy. Another area that needs improvement is the elevator. You can sing the Happy Birthday song 20 times before the elevator opens. It does try your patience. Perhaps I was critical on this property but for the price I paid I should have received better.
