We stayed in the suite here. It was such a lovely place to stay! Very clean and tidy! I would definitely stay here again and would (and did) recommend! The only slight issue I had was with the pillows not being Goldilocks level just right....no one warned me that when you get to be middle aged pillows are like a make or break situation for a good nights sleep! Everything else was perfect, though!

    roach in main room

Beware - roach infested hotel with unethical business practices. bugs. so many bugs. over two dozen bugs in our room over the course of our three night stay. i wish i was exaggerating. sadly, i am not. i know this place has great reviews, so i thought maybe this was out of the ordinary. i tried to resolve this with them prior to posting a negative review. i reported the issue to them during our stay, and they did some sort of mid stay cleaning, but this made the problem worse. now, instead of 1 bug every time we used the bathroom, we were finding 3-5. we were now seeing bugs in the main room area too. i watched one walk right in from under the main room door. i let them know and they told me they would offer us a different room, but they were fully booked. they offered to spray more, but why bother given the earlier spraying had made things worse and it was now after 9pm. i asked for a refund that night, they never responded regarding that. we left early the next morning since we couldn't sleep, we were so disgusted. i let them know we had left, and again, i asked for a refund since our vacation had been ruined. now someone named steve is responding and telling me they are doing some sort of analysis with their pest control company. he wants to have a phone conversation to discuss our experience. seriously? i don't want to invest any more of my time or energy into this. this already ruined our vacation, we are now spending all of our time since we got home cleaning every single thing we brought with us in hopes we didn't bring bugs home. i never wanted to write this review. i never wanted to have a reason to do so. i wish we never had this experience. i wish they would've done a single thing to try to make things right with us after this nightmare. i truly feel that if this were out of the ordinary for them, they would've already done something to resolve this with me. i hope you never have to go through anything like this. avoid this place. so disgusting. Edit in response to business owner's response: Over a week after our stay, the business owner sent me an offer to refund us for half of our stay if I would take down my (accurate) negative public review. Now it all makes sense why this place has such glowing reviews - it's because they are paying negative reviewers to take their reviews down. I decided to decline the offer since I want to keep my review up in hopes that I can help others make informed decisions about staying here. The business owner posted his response here after I declined his offer. The fact that they are trying to say we brought the roaches with us is laughable, since we already told them that we found the first one immediately upon entering the room and watched one walk right in from under the main door. So apparently their "thorough investigation" wasn't very good if that is the outcome. They are trying to act like we are the first people to ever have an issue with roaches in our room, but take a look at Kimberly B's review on Yelp from Jul 14, 2022. She mentions roaches in her room. So we were not alone in our experience. Also, if they really thought we brought the roaches with us, why would they be offering us such a big refund? Obviously they don't believe we brought them with us, they are just trying to avoid taking accountability and being nasty. In their direct correspondence with me, they have never accused us of bringing the roaches with us, they are just doing this publicly to disparage me. Initially, when I reached out during the stay 'just to let them know' about the bugs, I was trying to give them the benefit of the doubt and allow them the opportunity to treat the situation with care and urgency. They did the mid stay cleaning while we were out for the day. We were hoping this would resolve the problem; but instead, we came back late that night to find it had made things worse. At this point we didn't want them to come over again to disturb us and do more spraying. This is when I first asked for a refund, as I would have liked to have found other accommodations for the night, but they ignored that request for a refund. The business owner mentions that they offered to move us to a different room; but as I had mentioned in my review, they didn't do this as they told us they were fully booked. When the business owner finally texted me this week regarding a refund offer, I told them I hadn't gotten the email, so they sent me a screenshot of the email. But oops, they sent a screenshot of an email to another person offering them a refund. I'm not sure if this person's problem was also related to bugs, but regardless...just another example of the business trying to pay someone off to not post negative reviews. So shady. I've attached a screenshot of that email with Jennifer's last name crossed out. I hope you find this information useful when looking for a place to stay.

Really cute hotel. Good location but really small parking lot for visitors. No office or bellhop on site.

Had a solo retreat and was able to book a room last minute. The weather in Oceanside was gloomy but I mostly went there to finish my book, start a new book, study for an employment exam, and get away from my family. It served its purpose. I drove past it which is part of the reason I loved it. Privacy. Contact less, but still plenty of communication was available if you needed it. I didn't need more than was given. The location was good for me because I could walk to coffee close by at Bound or further away at Vigilante. Actually when I drove in, I stopped at Vigilante to read and drink tea. My room was ready early so I was able to drive over once my tea was done. Dinner was out the door and I found myself enjoying a Paloma at Home State which I know is a place I frequent when I'm home but I rarely drink because I'm usually with my kid so it's skipped. It was enjoyable to be able to walk to food. There were other options and an organic food shop across the street. I love the overall style of the place and I look forward to my next solo trip or one with my teen. Definitely a gem.

What an adorable place. My husband deployed and my daughter and I needed a get-away. We drove up from Vegas to stay two nights Room is extremely clean. I love the vintage touches and your own personal patio. My daughter was quick to place her scooter on the patio. The first night we walked to the beach and saw dolphins playing relatively close to shore and with surfers. It was magical. We ate at the bbq place next door and it was so delicious. I'm a Texan and good bbq is hard to come by. My mouth was watering. My only complaint is the motorcycles that go up and down the main drag. It is so incredibly loud. I had two white noise apps going on our iPads to try and drown it out. I couldn't get the fan to work on the heater, usually that is sufficient enough to drown out noise. I live in quiet suburbia though, so maybe I'm just not used to traffic noise.

My little patio. A great place to sit and read.

I really enjoyed my stay here. The room was very cute and very clean. I had a little patio where I could sit and read. There is a common area with a hot tub and a fire pit and bikes and surfboards are available for guests to use. There's a little grocery store right across the street (they make amazing smoothies and sandwiches) and it's a pretty quick walk to Carlsbad Village.

Need a little get away for yourself that's close to everything worth going to? Need some quiet time to yourself? This is perfect. I really appreciated my time there. Would stay again.

The first summer was partial ocean view with a balcony and the second, third, and fourth booking we paid an upgrade for an ocean view with a balcony. After checking in this July at 11:30 am, we got into our room at 2:30 pm. We discovered that we didn't have a balcony like the other 3 visits. Instead, we had a Juliet or faux balcony. We could only step outside, not move around, nor sit. The balcony was essentially a giant window looking at their sister property Mission Pacific and the street. We had no balcony to sit and look at the ocean view we booked and PREPAID for as an upgrade 5 months prior to the stay. I called the front desk. They claimed we booked a room with a Juliet balcony and had no other availability. This is untrue, per the listing image I have included in this review. They offered us a balcony with city view or a room with a king-sized bed. We were a family of 4 traveling with 2 teenagers. They offered no other help or compensation. At Costco's suggestion, I asked about their sister property next door and I asked them to include the reduced valet and our food credits that were part of the February package we already paid for. When I checked in next door at Mission Pacific, I discovered our reservation hadn't been transferred. It had only been re-booked and we needed to pay the market rate for the next 4 nights even though we pre-paid $2300+ for Seabird back in February. I spent at least a half-hour at the front desk trying to negotiate and get a room resembling what we had paid for 5 months ago. MP's management was great and was able to accommodate our requests. After THREE HOURS of stressing and trying to solve this issue, we finally had some type of resolution. We stayed at MP from July 6-10. At about 4pm July 10, Seabird Hyatt emailed me to remind me that they arranged for our move to Mission Pacific, and provided a $300 resort credit along with discounted valet parking as a gesture of goodwill. ABSOLUTELY NOT! They made us a reservation only, and the resort credit and discounted valet parking was part of the package we paid for back in February! Absolutely NOTHING was provided as a gesture of goodwill. Furthermore, our Costco package included a rental car that we had no intention of using, but the price was cheaper. We ended up losing about $36 for the stress of booking at Seabird Hyatt, with an upgraded room with ocean view that was downgraded upon arrival. Seabird had the entire week of our stay to contact us and attempt to make things right. We are quite disappointed in the way this hotel treats their return guests. I do not recommend Seabird Hyatt in Oceanside, California at all.

Pros: 1.located between 78 and 76 freeways and easy to get to most shopping areas. 2. Employee named, Victor, was very kind to bring to our room fresh sheets and extra towels when we requested He was friendly and courteous. 3. Generally speaking, front desk staff was kind. 4. Change was always available for the laundry. 5. Amenities: Pool and Jacuzzi. Fire pit, BBQ grill. Gym, laundry room. Tiny mini mart with alcohol and junk food for last minute grabs. 6. Continental breakfast everyday. As vegans, we enjoyed cereal (varies), oats (cooked in water) with a variety of toppings (brown sugar, nuts, coconut flakes, raisins, etc), potatoes, bagels, fresh fruit (usually bananas), orange juice, and coffee. Oat milk was available upon request (we knew to ask for it because the lady who checked us in said it was available). 7. Rooms had a kitchenette which included: electric mini stove with 2 burners (no oven), full size fridge, microwave, stove, single cup coffee pot, full size dishwasher. Also included pans, colander, mugs, cups, wine glasses, utensils, knives, cutting board, wine/bottle opener, bowls, plates, large cooking utensils, dish towels, dish soap, paper towels, and dishwasher pods. Cons: 1. Although I've always been excited for salsa nights,, the Junkyard Restaurant in the same shopping center was pretty rowdy on a Tuesday night and you could totally hear and feel the music, even over our sound machines. 2. The sofa bed sheets had not been changed since their last guest.l when we checked in. 3. I always had to request extra towels from the lobby because when we chose to have our room serviced, they took all the towels and did not replace the same number of towels. 4. The pans were scratched up badly. No way it's safe to cook in those pans unless you're wanting to eat Teflon and other leaching chemicals. 5. When I had questions about the waffles containing dairy or egg, the tall white man replied rudely. If I recall correctly he said, "of course it does, why wouldn't it.?!" His tone and manner of speaking took me by surprise since he appeared to be management. Another employee had said it was vegan but because I know better being vegan, I needed to confirm. My husband also asked him if they had a particular cereal my daughter had the previous day and he was also rude to my husband. This was on 2 separate days so it's fair to say this guy has a bad attitude and no empathy for others. This probably irked me the most out of my hotel experience. 6. Another guest before us stuck the wrong detergent in the washer and caused the foam to bubble out of the machine on our load. 7. No vegan options other than alcohol in the mini mart in the hotel. It would have been nice to have a few things without dairy, 8. Table was only big enough for 2. We had our kids eat at the desk. 9. Carpet is dirty- as in your feet and socks are black/brown after walking on the carpet. 10. Only no add Netflix accounts can take advantage of signing in to the Netflix account on the smart TV. Overall, I would probably stay here if I had to, but probably wouldn't be my first choice.

This hotel is tucked away in a convenient area. It's away from the traffic and there are a couple…read morerestaurants right on the other side of the parking lot. There's free parking here which is great compared to the other Marriott properties. There's breakfast from 6-9am. It's not the huge spread but it was what you would imagine with this level of hotel. The elevators are quick, so the highest floor is 4 and isn't annoying to get to. There's a basketball court and pretty nice size pool and jacuzzi if you are feeling recreational. The business center is there for free printing if needed. The rooms are a nice size and of course there's flatware and plates and pans for cooking if you need it. The only current knock that I have is the ac didn't get below 68. This is pretty common in San Diego hotels that the ac doesn't function properly. If you like to sleep at 66 degrees don't expect the ac to be able to get the room temp down that low. I'm sure once it gets worse then they will replace their system. Great job guys.

My only complaint is there was no way to direct the AC and it blew right into my face on the main bed.
