I was only here for a quick one night stay with my husband but we enjoyed our stay. The hotel is a short walk from Harbor Village and right off the freeway. There's a cute little walkway in the back that takes you down a slope along the train tracks that's really picturesque. It was nice during the day when we were walking back and forth a lot. The hotel itself is well maintained with a little parking garage and lot. We didn't have a car this time, but it's nice they don't charge you. Front desk staff were super nice and helpful. We checked in a bit early and it was no problem. Very spacious room with lots of light. TV worked fine. Bed was comfy. I liked that they had two types of pillow, one super soft like down almost and a slightly firmer cushioned one depending on your preference. Nice to have a microwave, kitchen sink, fridge, and coffee maker, too. Nice stay and would definitely stay again! read more

This Holiday Inn is walking distance to the Oceanside harbor. Parking is complimentary for guests - there's a private lot and also street parking across the hotel. Customer service was top notch with a friendly and knowledgeable front desk. Check-in was smooth and easy. They do charge a $50 security deposit in case of any damage or lost items from the hotel room. This isn't the newest Holiday Inn. It's a bit dated with the furniture showing age. Nonetheless, the room I stayed in was clean. I got a corner room on an upper floor. It has a desk, refrigerator, couch, TV, microwave, coffee machine. The sink is separate from the toilet and shower. What's interesting is that the sink is next to the coffee machine. The bed is right in front of the sink and mirror. In short, the layout wasn't ideal but is okay for a short stay. The view is that of other hotel buildings. People can see into your window, you can see into there window. Luckily, the blinds work well. Overall, I enjoyed my stay here and would come back whenever I visit Oceanside. read more

I'm a bit delayed in my review of this hotel, but to put it short and sweet...it's wonderful! The location is kinda funky though (across the street is a lovely mobile home park LOL). It's very close to the water, but don't expect a view of anything special. What the hotel lacks in good views, they make up in great service, conveniences and cleanliness. Like I mentioned, they are close to the beaches, but also close to the marina, shops, and lots of cool little restaurants. We've been here 2 or 3 times already, and will be back again. Surprisingly good! Staff was polite, facility well managed and room was clean, spacious and comfortable.

Do NOT stay here. Upon our arrival, there were multiple gentlemen sitting in random cars in the parking lot. One was holding his phone up as though he was taking a picture or video. I didn't noticed but my husband did. As you enter the building, there's a sign on the front door regarding sex trafficking. My husband mentioned the concern to Fati at the front desk who seemed to care less about the concerns or safety of guests. She said she would notify "security" but this was another employee was took a leisurely stroll around the parking lot without doing or saying anything to the gentlemen in the cars. The rooms have controlled air settings that will not allow you to set the unit below 70 degrees. I ended up turning the fan on high to keep air movement in the room. Housekeeping didn't attend to our room once during our 4 night stay. I had to put trash in bags and set them outside the room to ensure it was picked up everyday. We had to request new towels (which feel like sandpaper) several times from Fati before receiving them. Spend the extra money and get a room at a place who values you as a customer and appreciates your business. read more

My son stayed here on April 19th after another local hotel refused to give him the key to our room. My flight was delayed so I couldn't do much to assist, but did call, which was a waste of time. Rudeness deluxe at the other hotel. Holiday Inn to the rescue. Not only was my son's evening stay good, but together we returned to stay another night on April 22, 2024 when it was necessary for him to once again be seen by doctor's at the Camp Pendleton Naval Hospital. This is an older hotel, but they have kept it in good repair. No homeless lingering outside or drug dealers. This is a problem that many of the local hotels have. Thank goodness this hotel keeps it's grounds free from people that want to panhandle or steal. There is a make-shift restaurant that is only open for breakfast. Nice dining area. If you need to be close to Camp Pendleton, I recommend this Holiday Inn. read more

This was a lovely hotel. The rooms are clean, the beds are very comfortable, and the sheets are clean. The prices are not cheap, but they are reasonable. For that area, it is very fair. Any bad? I will say I was let down by breakfast. The breakfast is ordered like a meal and then you sit down and they bring it to you. They have certain choices if you have pre-ordered breakfast and it is covered. I would have to say that I would recommend, when one reserves a room, that they NOT add breakfast to the room and just go out and pay for their own breakfast. Breakfast increased our price by almost an extra $30 for two people. The only good part about it was at the Sunnyside eggs were real eggs. The breakfast potatoes were just OK and the sausage links were just OK. We also ordered a side of oatmeal that came with it, but it came just with brown sugar and raisins, and I usually like to put nuts in it and make it more festive so that just boring. The worst part though... the coffee was awful! It was just gross whether caffeinated or decaf. We were really shocked by that and just went to Starbucks instead. Would we stay here again? We would, yet we would not get breakfast ever again. I prefer buffet breakfasts and this restaurant does not offer Buffet breakfast, but rather an à la cart breakfast that is simply mediocre and expensive for what you get. read more

After being left stranded due to a reservation error on behalf of the staff at another hotel in the error we were desperate to find somewhere to stay. Beyond thankful to have found availability here! Mary at the front desk was so nice and helped us get a room to fit our needs as well as give us a nice one on the top floor to make up for the horrible afternoon we were having. The hotel has parking included which is a great perk. They have a restaurant open for breakfast, a little convenience store/section, gym, pool, jacuzzi and little terrace. The room we got was a double queen suite and was quite spacious, clean and you can't hear your neighbors or people in the hallway either. The beds were comfortable and you also have a mini fridge you are able to use. It's less than a 5 minute drive to the harbor which was super nice too! It was a great stay! read more

I stay in hotels about 285 days a year, sometimes for weeks at a time. By far the most comfortable bed in its class. Off season here so bar is closed and restaurant is only open for breakfast. Wi-Fi is solid, staff is great. Guia, is super helpful responsive and accommodating, love working with her. I'm normally a Hilton guy but this property is literally 5 minutes to the jobsite and serves all mine and my crews needs. Great job Holiday Inn staff!! read more

4.5 stars for a convenient, well-run hotel with friendly service in a good location. Admittedly the rooms are a bit dated (the heating/cooling unit is a jet engine) but they are clean and the beds were firm. Special thanks for Mike for making the check in process super easy. We were upgraded to a 5th floor junior suite at check-in but to be honest this didn't move the needle one bit as we have already booked a double queen room. This hotel has many things going for it. It is located 3 blocks from the beach and pier (yes it's walking distance), has a convenient workout room and swimming pool. Kids 12 and under eat free and there are IHG points bookings frequently available. Overall, lots of positives here and I would recommend it for a short stay in Oceanside. read more

Since we were only staying one night, I wasn't particularly picky about some of the things that I saw, however the main issue was the bathroom door locked itself from the inside. We woke up on Saturday morning, needing to use the restroom and were unable to get in. It was myself, my daughter, and her teammate. We were in town for a soccer tournament and needed to check out in order to arrive to the field on time. As soon as I realized that the bathroom door was locked from the inside, I called the front desk only to be told that the maintenance person would not be arriving until 8:30 AM. I called around 8 o'clock in the morning. I told him that we couldn't wait, that we had to use the restroom, and shower. He said that we could walk downstairs to the lobby and use the bathroom in the lobby. We were not able to take showers. I also left some of my toiletries in the bathroom from the night before, so I was unable to get them. We had to check out because we had to leave, therefore our issue was never settled. I called the front desk and asked for the general manager. They told me he was not available. I also called IHG and explained to them and they told me that I needed to continue to contact the general manager. It has been almost 2 weeks and we have called at least 10 TIMES and I have NOT received a phone call back. $300 for 12 hours and no bathroom usage in the morning. Terrible. The General manager 'Michael' should be fired. Worst customer service ever. read more

Booked here for a trip to Legoland; we waited too long and nothing closer (or nicer) was available. I thought it would be okay since it's 3 stars and the reviews were good--especially on cleanliness--but I was really disappointed. Our room was dirty: food underneath the couch and some sticky substance rubbed into the carpet (check out the photos). If the room was dirty it definitely makes me question how well it had been sanitized before our arrival. The hotel is also in need of some upkeep. It's dated, one outlet in our room didn't work, and other items like the toilet paper holder needed to be replaced. The elevator floor had dirt/water from the pool. There was inconsistent, confusing signage throughout the hotel. In various placeholder signs required mask wearing in public hotel areas but near the entrance it said people could go without masks if vaccinated. Few people were wearing masks indoors. Also, I understand certain amenities not being available ( the restaurant was closed) but the hotel doesn't even bring items like towels to the room if you need them. I let the front desk know about the dirty room and was offered house keeping but we didn't want anyone in the room. They were fully booked so no other rooms were available to switch to. After our stay it took forever to find a way to register my complaint with IHG; I waited over 1.5 hours on the phone before having to hang up. Finally found a way to submit an email. I know prices have gone up due to shortages but I really don't feel like we in any way received what we paid for here and I wouldn't stay at this hotel again. read more

What a great spot for the price! You are truly moments away from the beach and views of the coast! I love that the parking was free, the rooms were clean, fully stocked with towels and toiletries, and the staff is absolutely kind! One person that made the stay memorable was a young woman by the name of Jessica. She was there to serve breakfast. However is was also there to answer any and all questions about the area. The breakfast staff gets automatic tips so they enjoy torturing and trying to humiliate the patrons and then they smile and laugh at you( not an exaggeration). The best hotel for the money in Oceanside. A really on point front desk. CLEAN hotel inside & out. Bedding is GREAT! Beautyrest recharge mattress plush pillow top with goose down pillows! View of beach depending on room you are in (6th floor is top). Pool is clean and warm, because of COVID restaurant and gym are closed. Ann, Michael and Kali are great up front. Parking is always available and free. Can walk to the harbor/beach from here. All the best restaurants, IMO, are in the marina, so I find the value of the hotel top notch for enjoying Oceanside. read more

I always want wonder why hotels build ada rooms for one person's only? We had one large bed, very comfy, great. One pull out sofa - not horrible, and had to pay extra for a rollaway bed because the one bed couldn't accommodate four adults. Of course we were charged extra for the rollaway... It was uncomfortable - big dent in the middle and woke up with a crick in my back... Only coffee available. Location was very full with soccer players and their families. First the positive. The hotel is walking distance to the harbor, beach and shops. The beds were very comfortable. The observation deck on the 6th floor was great for relaxing after a long day. Jessica, who helps with breakfast, was wonderfully friendly and helpful. Our group was allowed to use the lobby to bring in dinner a few nights which was appreciated. Hotel is across the street from a RV park, Mobil and next to a Del Taco. Take what you want from this. Now that not so great. We booked a hotel room block for 14 in the Junior Suites which included breakfast. When we arrived to check in, we were told that breakfast was only included for 2 people. When I booked the block, I spoke to a rep at the 1-800 number as well as confirmed the block with the hotel rep, Sabrina. Neither informed me that the breakfast was limited to 2 people. We would have booked elsewhere had we needed to buy breakfast for many in our block. Neither management nor Sabrina were particularly helpful or understanding given this predicament. I expect more from Holiday Inn in terms of customer satisfaction and was not pleased. read more

I'm a creature of habit and so when our huge group decided to stay next door at another hotel I said nope I'll stay here because I know what to expect , boy was I in for a surprise... This review is not a reflection on the employees because they were so nice and friendly . We booked for 5 days so if we wanted a clean towel or toilet paper we had to go to the lobby and get it , keep in mind they only give you one roll so you have to go back every day to get it .. If I'd of known that I would've brought my own I mean who wants to ride in the elevator carrying toilet paper... I'm so happy I brought my own coffee pods so I didn't have to ask for that as well .. I didn't mind the no maid service I'll clean up my room but having to take out our trash and getting supplies was ridiculous. Everyone that stayed next door said they got maid service and if they needed any amenities they were brought up to them . So not only did they pay HALF the price we did they got better amenity service. So suffice to say next time I'm visiting this area I'll be staying at The Days Inn next door lol read more

This is an old hotel and has become rather run down. The lobby area is very nice, but the rooms need serious update. My window is so old the seals are broken and you cant see through it. The bathroom shower curtains are too short and water goes all the way across the floor to the toilet. The hotel view is blocked by another hotel/motel so you cannot see the water yet their rate is the same as the higher end luxurious hotels in Oceanside. They also only clean the rooms and bring fresh towels every 3 days. Not a good value and i really believe here are several better options for the same price in the area. read more

Location is great. This is the only hotel I have been to for years with no free coffee. You can "pay for coffee when the breakfast opens at 6am". "We have coffee in your room", but no free water to make the coffee. Oceanside tap water is absolutely gross. My son used bottled water to brush his teeth. Every other place I've ever been to that has water this bad gives you a couple of bottled waters (FL/AZ/NM). Staff was rude and defensive to cover the hotel shortcomings. It was bad enough I may drop going to IHG properties in the future. The beds are typical Holiday Inn and comfy. But there seems to be a lack of attention to detail in the room: shade gets stuck on the pull down, closet door can't open all the way (it hits the door closer), no place to put your suitcase, and card you get at check in says clean every three days but they don't tell you that you need to ask for even this reduced level of service. read more

The hotel is nice and quiet. The room is pretty neat and with a comfy pillows and bed. You got a standard microwave, refrigerator,coffee maker, tv, plenty of outlets. Hair dryer etc. then washer and dryer for $4 each to wash your own laundry. Now... by all means avoid rooms that ended with 2. Our room have a super super low water pressure. I have never spent such a long time in a shower. But I can't rinse a damn things. The sand, the sud, OMG! Had to called the front desk, they sent a maintenance into my room. He then, replace the " clog " shower head " and now it gives a little more pressure but then he said... ask to change room because all the lines are like this . All the room ended with 2. 302, 402, 502... HE SAID IT! Not me, so I called the front desk, they said other room that available are much smaller so whatever we stayed. Second day, we didn't go to the beach, because we know that we can't rinse off the sand completely. So, if you read my review and when you check in and they give you room number that ended with 2. 3.5 stars. Stayed here for a long Thanksgiving holiday weekend while visiting my sis in Cali. It is located in a great location close to the oceanside pier and harbor, as well as Camp pendleton. The staff are friendly. Parking is free and they have hot tea and coffee service as well as fruit infused water. There is a small restaurant and bar on the ground lobby floor. A small gym is open 24/7 and they have a heated outdoor pool and hot tub, which closes at 10 PM. It was rainy so we didn't get to use them. It is an older building and definitely needs a remodel. We were in a room with 2 queen beds. The room was pretty spacious, we didn't have a view it was just of the RV park located adjacent to the hotel. It was clean and the bed was comfy. I would have liked a thicker or more puffy blanket/comforter though. read more

I had such a great experience visiting this location, as I was warmly welcomed by Christel. I was actually having a rough day and right away as I walked in her beautiful smile brightened up the whole room. She also gave me great recommendations to the local dining and entertainment.
