Thanks for the bandaid!
Alec E.

The hotel treated me so well after having a bit of a rough morning. Needed a touch of TLC and Holiday Inn never fails to put the hospitality in when I need it.

I'm a bit delayed in my review of this hotel, but to put it short and sweet...it's wonderful! The location is kinda funky though (across the street is a lovely mobile home park LOL). It's very close to the water, but don't expect a view of anything special. What the hotel lacks in good views, they make up in great service, conveniences and cleanliness. Like I mentioned, they are close to the beaches, but also close to the marina, shops, and lots of cool little restaurants. We've been here 2 or 3 times already, and will be back again. Very professional all around.

Me, waking up happy!!

A Holiday Inn close to the Oceanside Pier and the Marina. Excellent location, friendly staff, comfortable and affordable rooms, and really comfy beds. I'd totally stay here again. And...one night staff even went to find me some ketchup packets after 11pm last night so I could eat my Mac n cheese the way I like it!!! Thank you!!!!!

Thinnest toilet paper ever.

Some things can't be said in a matter of only a few words. The greatest novels of all time are often hundreds of pages long, with much detail, and a story which deserves such attention. The subject matter is often inspiration enough. With a picture, or a thousand words not being nearly enough. From the mountain tops, from the valleys, from the coasts and oceans blue. Freedom will always ring. Oceanside is a place that is a supporter of freedom. Camp Pendleton is a home of many brave men and women, and it's a protector of freedom. Twenty Four hours a day, seven days a week, no days off. Always on guard, always watching over us silently. Freedom. The Holiday Inn here in Oceanside is a supporter as well. From the huge property, to the respect and support they give to our Marines, they come and ensure everyone is treated right. They support the freedom cause from start to finish. They will help you, give you a comfortable room, and do their best keep you safe and clean. Just like the best of America. They represent our values, and make no qualms about it. The rooms have always been great here, and they have been fantastic when amenities have been requested. Friendly staff are the first point of contact, and they help whenever they are called on. Freedom rings here. From the sea views, to the hospitality you can always count on the freedom of choice here. Freedom is a 24/7 service. Even at 3am, when you go to the bathroom, and use the thinnest toilet paper I've ever seen in my life. Even your finger will find freedom. God bless America.

This hotel is nice .. but they let people illegally park in the handicap parking. I told the receptionist and she ask me " what should I do".? I reported them to the police after 3 nights.

The first summer was partial ocean view with a balcony and the second, third, and fourth booking we paid an upgrade for an ocean view with a balcony. After checking in this July at 11:30 am, we got into our room at 2:30 pm. We discovered that we didn't have a balcony like the other 3 visits. Instead, we had a Juliet or faux balcony. We could only step outside, not move around, nor sit. The balcony was essentially a giant window looking at their sister property Mission Pacific and the street. We had no balcony to sit and look at the ocean view we booked and PREPAID for as an upgrade 5 months prior to the stay. I called the front desk. They claimed we booked a room with a Juliet balcony and had no other availability. This is untrue, per the listing image I have included in this review. They offered us a balcony with city view or a room with a king-sized bed. We were a family of 4 traveling with 2 teenagers. They offered no other help or compensation. At Costco's suggestion, I asked about their sister property next door and I asked them to include the reduced valet and our food credits that were part of the February package we already paid for. When I checked in next door at Mission Pacific, I discovered our reservation hadn't been transferred. It had only been re-booked and we needed to pay the market rate for the next 4 nights even though we pre-paid $2300+ for Seabird back in February. I spent at least a half-hour at the front desk trying to negotiate and get a room resembling what we had paid for 5 months ago. MP's management was great and was able to accommodate our requests. After THREE HOURS of stressing and trying to solve this issue, we finally had some type of resolution. We stayed at MP from July 6-10. At about 4pm July 10, Seabird Hyatt emailed me to remind me that they arranged for our move to Mission Pacific, and provided a $300 resort credit along with discounted valet parking as a gesture of goodwill. ABSOLUTELY NOT! They made us a reservation only, and the resort credit and discounted valet parking was part of the package we paid for back in February! Absolutely NOTHING was provided as a gesture of goodwill. Furthermore, our Costco package included a rental car that we had no intention of using, but the price was cheaper. We ended up losing about $36 for the stress of booking at Seabird Hyatt, with an upgraded room with ocean view that was downgraded upon arrival. Seabird had the entire week of our stay to contact us and attempt to make things right. We are quite disappointed in the way this hotel treats their return guests. I do not recommend Seabird Hyatt in Oceanside, California at all.

We enjoyed it and will probably make this one of the primary places we stay now. Parking is reserved which is wonderful. We were worried because we were checking in on a Thursday which is Sunset Market but even with that the parking wasn't an issue. The check in process was a little odd because you aren't really sure how to get to your room until you figure out where the elevator is but once you get the door code down and know where to go it's super easy. The room was clean and comfortable. I liked that it had the attached coffee shop and the Oceanside location of Stone. A couple things that I thought were a bit weird in the room specifically was the distance between the faucet and the sink were pretty close and the parking is about 2 blocks away, but its not a bad walk AND its specific to your room number which is really nice. I kind of wish the tv swivel towards the bed. Communication between the hotel was great. They assign rooms to you ahead of time and they text you when it's ready. I highly recommend staying at this hotel. 10/10

Having access to both Mission Pacific and The Seabird across the street made the experience feel even more expansive and luxurious. The property itself is gorgeous and the aesthetic is immaculate. However, the service during our stay fell significantly short of what a property of this caliber should deliver. I traveled with a 4-month-old infant and requested a pack & play multiple times over three weeks and it wasn't in my room upon arrival despite repeated confirmations. The front desk was consistently unreachable by phone throughout our stay, which made accessing the resort fee amenities we paid for nearly impossible. I genuinely believe this may have been a staffing issue specific to our visit rather than a reflection of the property's standard. I would absolutely return, the location and property alone make it worth it. I just hope the service matches the beauty of the space next time.

However, warning- if you are in the middle ocean front rooms (i.e. room 530), they are located outside and there is a train behind the property that runs all night. The manager offered to switch our room but it would have been a downgrade to an ocean view room so we decided to deal with the noise. Note that you also can't see the sunset from those rooms as it is blocked by the rooms on the west side. The front desk service was great. They offered us some wine and champagne and provided us with water bottles. The rooftop pool is wonderful. It's a nice place to lounge. The pool is heated so didn't feel too cold, but we were also there during a heat advisory 75+ degrees). There is a live dj playing lounge music. The food and drinks are expensive so we didn't really order anything. Overall a nice stay, but if we ever go back I would make sure we don't get one of the outside rooms.

Pros: 1.located between 78 and 76 freeways and easy to get to most shopping areas. 2. Employee named, Victor, was very kind to bring to our room fresh sheets and extra towels when we requested He was friendly and courteous. 3. Generally speaking, front desk staff was kind. 4. Change was always available for the laundry. 5. Amenities: Pool and Jacuzzi. Fire pit, BBQ grill. Gym, laundry room. Tiny mini mart with alcohol and junk food for last minute grabs. 6. Continental breakfast everyday. As vegans, we enjoyed cereal (varies), oats (cooked in water) with a variety of toppings (brown sugar, nuts, coconut flakes, raisins, etc), potatoes, bagels, fresh fruit (usually bananas), orange juice, and coffee. Oat milk was available upon request (we knew to ask for it because the lady who checked us in said it was available). 7. Rooms had a kitchenette which included: electric mini stove with 2 burners (no oven), full size fridge, microwave, stove, single cup coffee pot, full size dishwasher. Also included pans, colander, mugs, cups, wine glasses, utensils, knives, cutting board, wine/bottle opener, bowls, plates, large cooking utensils, dish towels, dish soap, paper towels, and dishwasher pods. Cons: 1. Although I've always been excited for salsa nights,, the Junkyard Restaurant in the same shopping center was pretty rowdy on a Tuesday night and you could totally hear and feel the music, even over our sound machines. 2. The sofa bed sheets had not been changed since their last guest.l when we checked in. 3. I always had to request extra towels from the lobby because when we chose to have our room serviced, they took all the towels and did not replace the same number of towels. 4. The pans were scratched up badly. No way it's safe to cook in those pans unless you're wanting to eat Teflon and other leaching chemicals. 5. When I had questions about the waffles containing dairy or egg, the tall white man replied rudely. If I recall correctly he said, "of course it does, why wouldn't it.?!" His tone and manner of speaking took me by surprise since he appeared to be management. Another employee had said it was vegan but because I know better being vegan, I needed to confirm. My husband also asked him if they had a particular cereal my daughter had the previous day and he was also rude to my husband. This was on 2 separate days so it's fair to say this guy has a bad attitude and no empathy for others. This probably irked me the most out of my hotel experience. 6. Another guest before us stuck the wrong detergent in the washer and caused the foam to bubble out of the machine on our load. 7. No vegan options other than alcohol in the mini mart in the hotel. It would have been nice to have a few things without dairy, 8. Table was only big enough for 2. We had our kids eat at the desk. 9. Carpet is dirty- as in your feet and socks are black/brown after walking on the carpet. 10. Only no add Netflix accounts can take advantage of signing in to the Netflix account on the smart TV. Overall, I would probably stay here if I had to, but probably wouldn't be my first choice.

There's free parking here which is great compared to the other Marriott properties. There's breakfast from 6-9am. It's not the huge spread but it was what you would imagine with this level of hotel. The elevators are quick, so the highest floor is 4 and isn't annoying to get to. There's a basketball court and pretty nice size pool and jacuzzi if you are feeling recreational. The business center is there for free printing if needed. The rooms are a nice size and of course there's flatware and plates and pans for cooking if you need it. The only current knock that I have is the ac didn't get below 68. This is pretty common in San Diego hotels that the ac doesn't function properly. If you like to sleep at 66 degrees don't expect the ac to be able to get the room temp down that low. I'm sure once it gets worse then they will replace their system. Great job guys.
