Really disappointed with the cost for value here. 1 bedroom apartment 1 person, moving 9 miles down the road. Perhaps because of this easy move they assigned me their "C" team, who showed up ready to complain that there were 3 flights of stairs and no elevator at my apartment complex. One showed up assumingly hungover or sick and made it a point to use both old bathroom and new bathroom to relieve himself of that. The move took all day with 4-5 people whereas when I did a similar move the year ago, IVL took half the time for the same packing & moving with 2 people, without bitching and moaning the whole time. They managed to drop my new desk down a flight of stairs, completely ruined that. Took forever to replace. Scratched all my walls up in the process. Corners on 3 of my tables are scratched, dented and damaged. They managed to actually lose a few smaller items, which is really impressive since they are the ones who packed them. They didnt want to take a part a couch to take upstairs, so out of frustration and exhaustion, they just hauled off a brand new $800 couch. After all of this, they had the audacity to complain some more about my tip on their way out of my apartment building. Unsurprisingly, I have had no response from the insurance claim I submitted to their office months ago, with no comment on the awful experience I had. I thought nearly $2000 for a same city, 1 bedroom pack and move was a lot, but I paid for what I thought would be a low stress, convenient and efficient move. What I got was the most unprofessional, sloppy move I've ever experienced. I should have just paid someone to help me move it myself at this rate. This company is still in operation and BEWARE. They are unethical and communicate poorly with their prospective clients. After waiting weeks for them to pick up my large freight shipment, on the day of pick up, Lani (the phone girl) called and left me a message saying they were on their way. 10 minutes later I called the company back to let them know I had been waiting all morning. Lani informed me that were 10 minutes from my house and not turning around to come back. What kind of company says they are on their way from Ventura to SB and 10 minutes later they are past your house and not turning around after waiting forever for them to be in this area!?! This is extremely unprofessional and I am glad that I learned how unprofessional they were before intrusting my precious cargo with a company of this stature. SO beware... read more

My wife and I have been moved by these movers twice in the past 3 years. Both times the moves have been extremely well exectued! We never had a single problem and on both occasions they were very professional and made us feel comfortable knowing they were moving our possesions. Not to mention their pricing was better then most of the other quotes I recieved from other companies. Both days we were scheduled to move they were on time and prompt. They moved us locally so we were out of our old places and into our new places within a few hours! I never expected to get such swift service, knowing how difficult moving day can be this made things stress free. They also have some of our overflow items in their storage facility and their pricing was too good to pass up. The other option was renting an expensive storage unit somewhere else. Our move was an unmitigated disaster as a result of mishandling, poor communication and horrendous customer service. It's critical however to understand the impact of this delay. The move was to relocate my 92-year-old mother from Southern California to the state of Washington. Due to health and other serious concerns, it was important the move proceed smoothly. For that reason, we made it clear from the first conversation that the furniture mustbe delivered on Thursday 5/13. With that requirement, Coast Transfer and Mayflower selected the furniture pick up date of 4/30. I flew from Minnesota to California to help my mother make the transition. On Monday 5/11 we flew to Seattle and on Tuesday 5/12 we drove to Spokane fully expecting the furniture to be delivered the next day, 5/13. The afternoon of 5/12 we called to find out what time the furniture would be delivered only to be told all the furniture was still in California. The move of the furniture hadn't even started! I fully believe that this disaster wasn't discovered until we called to check the status. With no other options, I extended my stay since my 92-year-old mother could not be left alone. Over the next week we incurred an additional $3,200 in hotel and meal expenses. These unnecessary costs could have been avoided if they had done either one of two things: 1. If they did what they committed to and move her furniture on time, or at a minimum 2. CALL US and let us know of the delay before we traveled. By not even telling us of the delay until after we had traveled to Washington is inexcusable. Throughout the process all we received was lip service. Not once did they initiate a call to us. All communication was us calling them. My firm impression was that they just wanted us to go away. Be warned, NEVER use Coast Transfer or Mayflower. read more

This review is a long time coming after the owners of CT&S rescued me and my family from the tragedy of the Thomas Fire. I was completely at a loss of how to move my 2000sq.ft. House in 72 hours to end my lease after my house had severe smoke damage. My children's health or moving/court was our only option. My children's health is never on the table, my son has asthma and Autism and we are on a fixed one income household of 4. We had to move and so I reached out on Facebook and the owner Trisha reached out and heard my story and then showed up at my house to help with through the situation. Then she went over and above to lend us boxes, a truck, and 3 DUDES to move us out of the kindness of her heart. Never asked for anything. I am overwhelmed with tears writing this because I don't know what I would of done with them. You have my business forever and I will talk about it and shout it to the rooftops- hire Coast!!!!! He was just through our furniture and boxes in the middle of the room, wouldn't even listen to what we has to say. The company charged us 1900 dollars. They provided a moving box for our oversized television, as well as other packing materials we requested.. They hardly took a break and they worked through til the job was done! I did not choose this company. They were the delivery service selected by Wayfair.com. I wasted an entire Saturday afternoon waiting for them. I tried calling the phone number, but no one answers on the weekend. Twenty minutes after the designated 4 hour waiting period, I received a call asking me if I was still waiting. They eventually arrived 30 minutes after the 4 hour window. I asked why no one called me to say they would be late. The delivery guy said that they had worked a 12 hour day without any breaks. So not only is there terrible customer service, but multiple Labor Code violations as well. I will be reporting this to Wayfair. read more

I used these guys (as an agent of Mayflower Movers) to move from the Central Coast of CA to Arizona. I have to say they are honestly the worst. As of today I still do not have my belongings. They have NEVER called me to give me an update, I ALWAYS have to call in to check the status. I was given a website to check status and every piece of information on the website regarding my move is incorrect. Not one person at this company has said "gosh I'm sorry this is happening" or even acknowledged that the problems they created have an impact on me. We used coast for our in-state move. We should have seen the problems from the beginning when they quoted us such a low number. We had issues with them making payment on a credit card after the quote stated they would accept them. They were not timely with communications and we just should have seen the warning signs. The driver and the crew were nice guys but some damage occurred and we took the insurance with no deductible. Unfortunately it did not seem to be work the paper is was written on. They took almost a month to get some out to look at the damage. Sent a furniture repair guy to look at a damaged TV who know nothing about electronics. The MDF desk they snapped off the legs on a desk and broke the leg off an antique chair. The repair guy fixed the chair but no action from them on the other items after numerous emails asking for updates and what they plan to do, we are having to file complaints with the consumer affairs and get legal representation to file suit. Stay clear there are plenty of other reputable carriers who take care of business and the customers. read more

After calling and interviewing representatives from five moving companies in Ventura County, my husband and I, decided to go with Coast Transfer and Storage to move our home furnishings to Las Vegas, NV. Cliff Montgomery was very professional from the very start, giving us a history of the company and indicating that customer satisfaction was a priority.
