Couple things about this place I do not like... 1. The name of the restaurant is 'Ale house'. You would think that they would have a vast selection of beers. They do not. They have only 5 different beers that you could get anywhere. Very misleading. Very disappointing. 2. If you don't go during happy hour, the price of food and drinks are a tad bit pricy for what you get. 3. The some of wait staff is stuck up, forgetful, ungrateful and sometimes downright rude. They think that they own the place and feel as though they are entitled to receive a hefty tip every time you go. Even though the service had been slow and they forgot part of the table's order. Foods decent, service is terrible. Overall, definitely not worth it. The server seemed to purposely avoid our orders until 8:01 so we would not get the half off happy hour prices even though we were there at 7:30 ready to order. This used to be my favorite spot for happy hour, but recently it has really gone down hill. It is sad to see such a great place change for the worse. It is not a coincidence that they hire servers who will then quit within the same week they start. The new owners are turning their backs on their loyal employees and customers and it shows. There are plenty of other places to go for happy hour or a meal in Conway, take your money there to people who actually appreciate your business. I'm in Myrtle Beach working as a Medical Lab Tech at Grand Strand Medical for 13 weeks. I am staying in a hotel located beside the parking lot of Coastal Ale House. During this period when everything is either quarantined or shut down, these guys have been absolutely great to order takeout from and I truly appreciate them. Every meal I've purchased has been awesome and the service has been spectacular. I hope everyone will step up and support their local establishments and help them out during this unprecedented time of uncertainty. I highly recommend the Coastal Ale House and think you should give them a try if you're in the area. Thanks for all you do guys and I, for one, will never take a bar or restaurant for granted again. I'm so ready for things to go back to normal so I can sit indoors and enjoy the friendly staff, a delicious meal and drink at the bar again. A ton of college kids. Poor service. It's taking over 20 mins to order a drink. Please make sure you have extra staff on game nights. Or any nights you think it to may have a large crowd. I do not like to wait for a drink especially when i tip well. Thank you! They did have a good DJ. read more

We stopped in for lunch based on a recommendation. We had hamburgers and fries which were good, average. The atmosphere is more of a bar that serves food and the location was not easy to find. It was ok and the staff was nice and friendly but not our kind of place. read more

I hate leaving a review like this for this restaurant. We've been here 6-7 times and have never had issues. It's been about 3 months since we've been here and had horrible service. We were there for about an hour and half. We had to go to the bar for our 3 rounds of drinks. After about 40 min I had to go to the bar for menus. Bartender asked where we were sitting and still took 15 min for waitress to come over. They really weren't that busy either. Really hoping tonight was an exception. read more

Good place close to Coastal Carolina University for a sit down meal without having to drive into Downtown Conway or Myrtle Beach. The prices are regular. No special beers. The smoking makes it difficult to visit more often even though their are ventilators to help with it you can still smell it in the air and it's a pretty big space with an outdoor patio. I was surprised at how nice this place is- it is difficult to find and sort of hidden, I expected it to be crummy and dive-y but the interior is beautiful. There is a vaulted ceiling in the bar area with lots of cool fans, gives that tropical feel. The service is good, I love service in the south- yes sir yes ma'am! They had a nice selection of beers. The crowd is mixed, young, old, and everything in between! I went with my grandparents who live in a nearby retirement community and it is also near Coastal Carolina so there are lots of young people there too. The food is pretty good, I would say on the better side of average for bar food. I have had the sandwiches which do not disappoint, this last time I had the cobb salad which was large and served with homemade ranch dressing. Grandma had the shrimp linguine, enough to feed a family of four! Grandpa had the fish and chips which he enjoyed (no meat for them as it was Good Friday). There can be a lot of smoke on the inside though.... people can smoke inside here? I thought that was illegal? I guess it is great news if you are a smoker, but for those of us who don't smoke, it kind of ruins the experience. read more

Found this place on yelp while on a visit to see Coastal Carolina. I have high expectations for food. Had a great meal! Not easy to find (in a medical building complex) and kind of loud, but the food and staff are great. Was a Saturday night around 6. Had a table for 4 near the door. Had a good bar and lots of TV's. Fried Calamari, chicken fingers ZZingers were very good. Prime Rib Special with Shrimp was outstanding. (special) Reuben was good. Buffalo Chicken Sandwich was excellent. Chocolate Mousse cake was very good!!! Caytlen was a very good waitress. Very good IPA on tap. I would definitely recommend!! PS, others mentioned the smoke, I am very sensitive to smoke and didn't notice it. read more

There isn't a mark low enough to rate this establishment. I have visited the Ale House for years and loved it but in the past 6 months they only care about their pockets, this evening only ordered queso dip and wings, after 45 minutes waiting decided that was enough. Figured with college kids gone it would have gotten better but NOT. I do not recommend the Ale House. Outback bar staff are wonderful, I recommend it. Tammie Miller. Ale house is definitely the best place to eat around the Conway area! It's delicious, wide selection and for a great price. They have happy hour from 4-7 which has half price apps and drinks. Zzinger bites (barbalow) are the BEST. Hard to not get them. The hot garlic pram is another great and unique flavor. Other great appetizers are the spring rolls, mozzarella sticks, nachos, and onion rings. Their grilled chicken salad is big and fresh and wonderful! I've never had a bad meal there. I don't usually get big meals since they have a great lunch/happy hour menu but I've never heard any complaints. The inside can be smoky but depends on the crowd. It's the only place around that has a huge outdoor patio, which is another great reason to go! Sitting outside under fans, cheap beer and great food - definitely can't beat it! They also do trivia on Mondays , raffle tickets for every drink ordered (don't remember the day) and free apps each day after 9pm with the purchase of a pitcher of beer! read more

Honestly the worst restaurant I've been to in a long time. All of our food was over cooked or underdone. I ordered a "flatbread" which is slang for expensive little tiny ass pizza. It was burned to a crisp and the waiter tells me "it's ok some people don't prefer it as toasted" I was laughing, please find me someone who likes chewing on cigarette ashes and tell them to give me a call. They brought me another pizza, and the first bite there was a chicken bone in it. At that time I realized, I should just stop eating. All of my friends left sick to their stomach or hungry. Undercooked meat in the burgers and overall terrible service. To top it off the waitress did not have on a mask and stood so close to us, and visibly touched my food while carrying to the table. The entire establishment was mask free even though it is mandated in Myrtle beach to wear them. The staff did not wear any masks, and our party was uncomfortable. We used to eat here quite regularly. The decor is really inviting & the food is good. Service is usually pretty good, but can be hit or miss. However, the name 'ale house' is very misleading. They only have about 4 taps. Three of those are standard domestic beers, like Bud Light, Mich Ultra, Yengling, etc. But only one craft beer. And it's SO SMOKY inside, u can barely see the person sitting across the table from u! Last couple of times we there, the manager (rather than checking on their customers like they're supposed to) sat at the bar puffing away & chatting with the 'regulars'. Totally inappropriate! If they'd at least have one more good craft beer on tap (better yet increase the number of taps because they're an ALE HOUSE) & make it a no-smoking restaurant, we'd go back. If you're a heavy smoker, I'd highly recommend it. Otherwise, stay away! It's not worth the risk of getting lung cancer! read more

A heath inspector needs to take visit to coastal ale house not only did my chicken bites taste like fish,the sink in the bathroom was covered in black mold. After realizing that they are using the same ice they serve to people to chill there liquor bottles i decided to leave.
