It's not often that you can give a car dealer a 5 star review but I'm now a big fan of this…read morecompany. You know the usual runaround you get when you try to buy, trade or sell a car to car dealers. The garbage tactics they use can be so tiring... and so OLD SCHOOL if CarMax is the new way to buy/trade/ or sell a car. Although I've purchased and sold many cars, this was my first dealings with CarMax and it was unlike any "dealer" experience I've ever had. We saw a car for sale online from a CarMax store in Tampa, FL that was exactly what we were looking for. We had a choice to drive to Tampa (a 3 1/2 hour drive) or have CarMax ship the car for $100 to our local Jensen Beach, FL store. We hesitantly chose to pay the fee. A nice touch, the company kept us in the loop on when the car shipped, arrived and was ready for viewing. We stopped in, viewed, provided our drivers license and drove the car and found it to be everything the ad stated. We decide to buy the car on the spot. Here's where it gets interesting. Unlike car dealerships, there was no haggling, hand offs to the finance manager, hard sells, etc that are the usual games car dealers play. Simply here's our price, take her out, if you like the car, sign here. If not, check around, compare prices, (which we had done previously and their price was on the low end of all we saw) and if you like it, sign here. Your new (used) car will be ready for you in a few minutes (which it was)! Have a trade in (which we did)? Great let's look at it, take some pictures and here's our offer (good for 7 days at any CarMax store). End result we traded in our old used car and got our new (used) car in one painless transaction! THE COMPARISON: This is where CarMax really stands out... We also had a car that we wanted to sell straight up. It was a Chevy Equinox that had only 4,000 miles on it. We knew that because of its like new condition and really low mileage, it would be pretty desirable and bring a good price. We decided to first, get a bid from Wallace Chevrolet in Stuart, Fl. Clearly the used car manager did not think the great condition or low mileage was important. After going through all the typical sales garbage they throw at you.... "How much do you want for the car?" (Dumb question that has no relation to how much they'll pay). "The new model is redesigned so there's not much call for this year" (you can stop the set up and just give me the price you'll pay)! "White's not really a good color" (BS, this is Florida, do I look like I was born yesterday?) "This is the best price you'll get anywhere but, it's only good for 24 hours" (Right dude!). After all the typical car dealer garbage laid on us, they gave us a price of $23,500. What was Carmax's (no bs) good for 7 days price? $25,000. Guess who now owns our Chevy Equinox? You bet... CarMax! Why anyone would go to a dealer to sell/trade or buy a used car is beyond me.

If I could give them 0 stars I would, they have no problem selling you a car and all their…read morewarranty's but barely a year later and my 'like new' car is dead and no one can fix it or offer any answers. The carmax care + is a scam and useless and they don't help you with anything. I will never buy a car from any CarMax ever again.

I wanted to buy a car from a private owner but somehow wound up at Good Rides in Port St. Lucie…read more Best thing that happened to me. They didn't try to add a dozen charges to the bill or push extended warranties. I could take a test drive without a salesman in the car. Because the radio & touchscreen media center were faulty, they ordered a modern new one and paid for the installation, which was $400. Because I drove a car in Florida a dozen years ago and Joey said I did not have to pay the huge first-time registration fee. While waiting for the touch screen to arrive I was permitted to put up a small deposit and take the car home for two days. The price was good and the 2015 Toyota Corolla was in excellent shape. (I paid a specialist in car inspections $229 to check everything out.) Good Rides also provided a free CarFax report. A private owner would have done none of this. Was everything perfect? Well, I expected the car to come with a gas tank half full but got an almost empty one. That was the only downside. So, if you want to deal with guys who operate like in the good old days you can't do better than here. I really lucked out. P.S. I live in Stuart, FL.

Discovered this dealer online my daughter had an interest in a vehicle here arrived met "Tony"…read morestraight forward accommodating no bull obviously my daughter is young so her credit isn't anything to write home about anyhow did our 10 minute test drive Tony went above and beyond to insure she was able to get financing after a few minutes he was able to get her financed also she had a couple of old license plates he worked his magic and saved her couple hundred dollars by using her old plate took his time to explain everything also with her financing got gap we're other locations wanted an extra $900-$1200 for gap also got a 24 months & 24k miles engine, drivetrain, & mechanical extended warranty. Everything went well until 24 hours later when the sliding door wouldn't open we call Tony already had an attitude said bring it in would have his mechanic (not on site) look at it after 18 hours no news called Tony stated to contact mechanic directly mechanic stated project would be extensive and couldn't do anything until next week asked Tony to speak with the owner that's when all shit broke loose & Tony showed his true colors like 99% of used car dealers turned into an asshole said call the warranty company we did they stated would not cover pre existing how in gods name does anyone know what can go wrong with a used vehicle makes no sense, needless to say stay away from this place one of the biggest mistakes we've made once you have a problem they wash their hands of you the owner Stephane Zimmerman will not return your call this Tony jerk is Lucy he's on their property God forbid I run into him elsewhere! Again take your business elsewhere avoid this place like the plague
