In August of 2021, I delivered my Golf Cart to Coastal Carts. I believe the only point of contact for service and parts is a guy named Doug. I needed new batteries, new wheels and bought new seats for my 2008 Tomberline emerge. Months went by without hearing anything from Doug or anyone else at Costal Carts. I would call to find out the status of my cart and would always get the same answer that my seats were ordered and should be there any day. I finally got tired of waiting and asked if the new batteries and new wheels were at least installed. They said yes and I went and picked up my golf cart. When I arrived, I saw that my new front seats were already installed and that the seat back for the back seat was installed but not the bottom for the rear seat. I was told by Doug that the back seat was on back order. I would call every two weeks after that, asking for the status. I had already paid for the new seats. Doug would tell me he would send Tomberline an email to find out status. I always asked why he couldn't just pick up a phone and call them. He said he only does stuff through email. He would also tell me that once he knew the status, he would call me right back. His calls never came. This week on July 25,2022, I was driving by coastal carts and figured I'd stop in to find out why it has been 3 weeks shy of a year since my seats were ordered and yet, I have no back seat. When I went in, I saw Doug and he looked me up in his system and told me it arrived. I was excited that my seat for the rear had finally gotten there. He said it had just arrived. We opened the box and I confirmed that it was correct. He tried to give me the box and I asked where the hardware was to secure it onto my golf cart. They had removed my old hardware and had the old seat secured down with Zip Ties. He said they'd have to order new hardware. He then asked me to trailer my golf cart to them so they could mount it. I refused to go rent a trailer after Doug taking a year and never calling me. He said they would pick it up on July 28th and mount the new rear seat and then drop it back off on July 29th, 2022. I saw that postage sticker was still on the box along with tracking number (pictured below). I asked Doug how long he has had my back seat. He said it had just arrived. I knew he was full of shit. He had been full of shit for the entire past year. I took a picture of the postage label and looked up the tracking number online. Coastal Carts accepted delivery of my back seat on May 27th. They had my Seat for 53 days and Doug couldn't be bothered to contact me to let me know. Doug is a stain on this business. Doug is a stain on customer service. He doesn't follow up like he says. Will not talk on the phone if he can help it. Only wants to use email. Promises to call you back but doesn't. If you can find another place to get your cart serviced, I really really encourage you to find another place. Because Coastal Carts does not possess the professionalism to do something as simple as a phone call. Would have only given one star but there are a couple of quality employees there. Really though, find a different business to service your cart. Coastal Carts is not the quality you're looking for. read more
