This whole staff is phenomenal. We brought our baby in and he was special needs from the beginning but they were always so honest with us. Dr. Smith is truly a good soul who cares so much about her patients and their owners. We brought Oliver in after our first vet didn't take us seriously and wanted to do testing that didn't make sense at all. Within one visit to CCC our cat was completely back to normal and feeling so much better. We unfortunately had to say goodbye to our sweet boy due to terminal issues but the whole staff at Coastal Cat Clinic truly made the process as easy as one can. While my family isn't ready to rescue another cat, when we do we will absolutely be back in the careful care of Dr. Smith. read more

I honestly can't say enough good things about Dr. Smith and her staff. They are so understanding and patient with my husband and I. We have a ton of questions, being first time cat parents. She patiently answered them all while her sweet assistant held my baby. I had to come in twice after her spay and I never felt judged and came away having learned quite a bit. I only ever take the time to write a review-- if either A) it was amazing service.. Or B) it was truly awful. A girlfriend suggested I take my cat to Costal Cat Clinic when we moved to the area-- Gizmo has health issues that I had already spent nearly $1,000 in the past to try and figure out what was wrong with her- the previous vet had told me it was a food allergy- so for about a year I was buying $100 bags of food for her. I took Gizmo into Coastal Cat Clinic to see if they can provide better insight- because even with the new food - she still licked herself raw.. Dr. Smith is very attentive, knowledgable and patient. After her first examination of my cat she recognized how much money I had spent in the past and was very considerate of this as she offered a solution. She suggested a blood draw to send to the labs and get an entire blood screening to get down to the bottom of her health issues. Her confidence and care was helpful as I agreed to spend more money on trying to help my fur baby. With the results- we discovered she was primarily allergic to dust!!! Oh man! And to think how much money I had spend on special food... Not to say that may not be a contributing factor- but to understand it wasn't stress or her food- but dust! Was VERY relieving!! She took the time to help- and we got some answers that work! Now, I always feel like that annoying client with issue after issue and always calling them- but Dr. Smith and her staff have NEVER made me feel that way. They are very attentive, caring and patient! They have always done their best to work with my schedule - especially when I need a last minute health cert before my cat flies out!! As my family moves to the other side of the world- I am very grateful for the care received by Coastal Cat Clinic... I will say the first time I went in the lady at the front was NOT welcoming at ALL which really had me on edge of ever returning. However, once Dr. Smith introduced herself in the exam room I decided right then and there to give it another try. She is absolutely wonderful. You can tell she is not only knowledgeable but passionate about her work. Every move she made with Berlioz was full explanation and made sure me and him were both comfortable and I was well informed of what she was doing or even what she was not doing. I took my kitten into coastal cat because he had an open sore that was pussing. I called them the morning after I noticed it. They found an appointment for us that day and they ended up calling me back almost as soon as we hung up, and told me to just bring him in ASAP. Also took both of our kittens into be declawed. They were amazing. I'm a nervous pet parent so I called three times to check up on my babies. They even sent us home with litter that is safe for them to use until they heal. read more

I am not going back because her staff is not friendly and I do not feel welcome there. Very helpful staff very knowledgeable. They took very good care pf our cat.It is always exceptionally clean. They give my kitty all their attention , never have to wait more than 5 mins to be seen. I've owned cats my whole life, and after adopting my first kitty as an adult and moving to NC, I was worried about finding a good vet. This clinic is wonderful because they only treat cats, so I don't have to worry about my Crooks getting more scared by dogs or dog smells. On both of our visits, the staff has been really friendly and patient. I have no problem trusting Dr. Smith. She recommends what your cat needs and doesn't try to up-sell you on anything she doesn't deem necessary. My cat has been sick with a bladder infection, and she and her staff have called me to check up on him and kindly answered all of my overly-concerned cat mom questions with understanding. Moved back to Jacksonville and needed a vet for my cats. I think Dr. Smith is a wonderful vet and the prices were affordable.

I have to say I love this Vet's office and their staff. A week ago, I had come home from vacation and noticed that my cat had an ear hematoma. I had called my vets office to see if the could get her in and an approximate cost of the procedure. (they were not able to give me an estimate over the phone at that time, and were not able to get her an appointment for 2 weeks). I searched for another office when I found Coastal Cat Clinic. I called and explained my situation to them, and they were able to give me an approximate estimate of cost, and gave me an appointment 2 days later. after making the appointment, not even 5 minutes later I received a call from them, asking if I could bring my cat in the next day, as they didn't feel she needed to be in any pain longer then necessary. When we arrived for our appointment, there was no waiting, we where shown to a room, and before I could finish all the paper work (as I was new to this Vet) there was a vet tech in the room with us, getting my cats history, weight ect... They explained the procedure to me, and what would be done to my cat. Had me sign the forms for surgery and go over the cost of everything, and advised that they would call me later in the day to pick her up. I called to check up on her, later that day, and they advised me that she is ready to go. When I picked her up, Dr Smith talked to be about what her medication schedule is, and how to clean her wound. She also advised that my estimate had gone up some (due to the fact that she needed 1 other medication, and a collar so that she wouldn't scratch at her sutures) and part of the cost of the collar is refundable- how awesome is that.. As I am writing this, my vet office calls and provided me with an estimate (mind you 1 week later). And there estimate was 3-5 times higher than what I paid at here. I will be taking my other cat here from now on, as this will be the only office I will take my cats too. (Just wish I could find one like this for my dogs) I would highly recommend this office to anyone who has cats, and anyone newer to the area who is looking for a caring, honest, compassionate Vet. read more

Dr. Crystal Smith and her staff are the very best! This is a vet clinic for CATS ONLY. NO BARKING! Love it!! I have brought my little guy here since he was 4 weeks old when I rescued him. He has been back for everything including neutering, wellness exams, and the super awesome non-adjunvanted vaccines. When I brought him in for his neutering procedure, I dropped him off in the morning and was told I would be called with a progress report as to how he was doing and that he should be able to be picked up anytime after 4pm. I was SOO happy to hear them say they would call me with an update as to how he was doing and how he had done through the procedure. It's the small things like that make me give this place and the people there 5 stars. My cat, Boogey, is my baby. I wouldn't trust him with just anyone and these guys are not just anyone. My cat has not been feeling well. We've been battling fleas, which irks me to no end, since she's a completely indoor cat. Dr. Smith had removed an abscessed tooth, so her immune system was working hard on that. When I called the week before Thanksgiving, the clinic's schedule was full, but Dr. Smith fit me in the day I called, because she knew that the next appointment would be in 2 weeks, and she was concerned about her suffering with another possible tooth infection. Turns out the fleas were worse than I thought. Dr. Smith always takes as much time as necessary to give my Baby Cat thorough care, and she also took time to reassure me of the safety of mainstream flea control and having to leave her alone the following week, with only 2 check-ins a day from a friend. Dr. Smith is just as compassionate with her patient's caregiver as she is with the pet. She answers all my questions and always responds with kindness when I am ignorant of something. She is an effective and caring vet. I love her! read more

This is the place to go to take care of your furry babies! Dr. Smith and her staff are the bomb! We had to take our girl Minnie to Dr. Smith after a mishap with our dog. Our dog was sleeping and Minnie jumped on her, startling her and the dog bit her. Dr. Smith had to reconnect the nerve in her leg and said it was 50/50 if the nerve would regenerate. Not only did it regenerate, you would never think she had been hurt at all. And the cost for saving her leg was less than $150 dollars. If you have kittens or cats, there is no other vet around that will give you the outstanding care that Dr. Smith gives. I would give them 10 stars if it was available!!!!! read more
