Because my dog has super bad anxiety in vets he barks uncontrolled in my presence. I've gone there 3 times and they take him and work on him without me around. This time they refused to see him and wanted to reschedule because they didn't want to take him away from me to keep him from barking. Had an appointment at 1030, my dog and I were brought to a room by someone named Brittany who didn't even introduce herself and didn't say hi or touch my dog, who is a very friendly golden retriever. She was very standoffish, very timid and didn't seem comfortable with my dog. She wasn't friendly or personable. After getting put in a room at 10:30 we didn't see Dr Weaver until 11:05 or maybe a little later. Terrible visit. I used to goto the animal academy, they don't take appointments but I would have waited the same amount of time to see a vet who cares about seeing animals and their owners. I was very nervous to bring my new floofer to this clinic based on previous reviews. I decided to take a leap of faith and schedule an appointment for booster vaccines. Making an appointment is very easy. They're just one phone call away and they always pick up. You can also view and book appts on their patient portal website which is convenient and highly recommended! Due to corona, you have to wait in your car and call them on the phone to let them know of your arrival. A vet assistant will come outside to your car to have you fill paperwork, answer questions, take payment, etc. Only one person is allowed inside the clinic. You can also choose to let the vet assistant take your puppy inside while you wait in the car! My puppy is always greeting the staff with loads of hyper energy and a wagging tail so you know they're great people! The staff is super friendly and sweet. They were patient about answering my many many new dog mom questions. They also handed flea samples and a folder filled with informational pamphlets. It's pretty helpful to keep all your doggo's information in one place. I highly recommend everyone to come here. read more

So - gratefully after hearing I was unhappy with the receptionist calling me back- the Vet did call the next day and explain exactly what she saw on the slides. For now it seems my puppy is safe and I'm grateful for that. I wouldn't recommend this vet. While I've been coming here for a while, the wait times have consistently gotten worse with each visit. For instance, my 10 a.m. appointment didn't get me into a room until 10:35, and the vet didn't see me until 11 a.m. On top of that, their systems often go down, making payments cash-only, and their outdated technology prevents them from emailing bills. Terrible place. With their type of job they are suppose to care and make sure your animal is comfortable not cause them stress. On my visit with my dog they gave him a muzzle for one shot. He has been going to the vet his whole life never had an issue and is use to shots. They put a muzzle on him for who knows why. Only answer I can find is that they discriminated him for his breed and size and assumed he was aggressive. Once they put the muzzle on he was terrorized, he never had something like that on and freaked out. They were stressing him out. The whole experience was ripping my heart. I told them it's the muzzle and they need to take it off. They just ignored me and continued to wrestle him. So I got up and took it off. They all panicked like he was going to attack. Of course he didn't. I was really upset with how they handled things. After the muzzle came off my dog stood there and let them give him the shot with no problem at all. They caused unnecessary stress for my dog and even me. I won't be spending my money here or trusting them with the care of my dog. It only takes one bad experience to traumatize a dog. I can understand if the dog is showing signs of aggression to use a muzzle but my dog did not. The whole visit he never growled or showed fear or nervousness. He yelped getting a thermometer up his ass but who wouldn't? Immediately when they put the muzzle on did he growl. He never growled or had any issue at the vet except this one time. After that muzzle went on he lost all trust for them. My dog has never bit anyone. I still have no idea why they put him through that. I just know that their job is not to manhandle dogs. read more

I had a great experience!! I went in with 2 dogs and 2 small children and it surprisingly was a smooth process. The staff was very friendly and helpfuL. You could see their passion for animals!! I really liked that they go over vaccines with you to eliminate any not needed to make the visit more affordable. The vet was super sweet and knowledgeable. This is by far the worst veterinary clinic I've ever brought my dog to. Our dog has severe separation anxiety and me and my fiancé have tried it all. It's so bad that our dog refuses to eat, has pools of saliva, pees on the floor, pants to exhaustion, defecates himself, throws himself at the glass door and pushes his nose so hard on the door he bleeds. We can't leave the house without help. Upon telling the doctor this she decided to give us a vitamin and recommended a candle. She ignored just about everything my fiancé said to her and told me I was wrong about everything down to the way I held the dog's leash. Not to mention, I've consulted with many vets prior and she was in the minority of dog training practices. She was extremely pretentious and honestly didn't try to understand how in need our dog is. To no surprise, $130 later and none of what she gave us worked and we're still desperate for help. Lastly, it was just unclean. They took our dog's temperature without using gloves and didn't use the traditional plastic covering for the thermometer. Plus, the vet came in and sat on the floor the entire time. Just a really weird experience after waiting about an hour to be helped. If you're looking for a "crunchy" sort of place then maybe this is for you but I won't be recommending this clinic anytime anyplace. read more

I really enjoyed my visit here. My dog Bubs, got worms and fleas after being in Jacksonville for only one week. It was crazy!! Anyways, we are from california where flea and worms aren't such a big deal since we don't have this major humidity. However, in jville this seems to be a major epidemic issue in both cat's and dogs. I took my dog here, they quickly evaluated him and helped suggest products that would be really helpful for him. Bub's is the giant fat light in my family's life he's pretty much my son so I would pay and ensure every part of his health is on point. I asked numerous questions about treating the worms, the fleas, how to prevent and clean my house correctly. The vet tech gave me knowledgable answers, the dr herself was very attentive and my puppy loved the attention. He's got a big personality and is a ginormous cuddler/bulldozer so I was very happy they didn't mind petting him and giving him the attention. They even took a further step and helped me with his dandruff issue. My dog tends to shed like crazy year round (he's an english bulldog) and needs frequent baths. I've tried OTC oatmeal shampoos etc, but they presecribed me medicated shampoo with soothing oatmeal / aloe? I think. And that helped tremendously. He still gets dandruff here and there if not given a bath on a bi weekly basis, but at least it is now regulated. The cost here is very fair and I have private pet insurance that will cover at least 50% of most items!! If you have a dog PLEASE get insurance. Dr. Thomas had been so great, especially when I took in a stray with an injured leg to get scanned for a microchip back in July. She didn't push excessive treatment, just the essentials- which was very appreciated because the injured leg ended up needing to have surgery at an orthopedic specialist $$$ Dr. Brinson & Dr. Koh are wonderful with my own dogs too. Poor Old Shayda had a stroke and Dr. Koh was able to see her over lunch. So really at this point I have one veterinarian for each dog lol. And whenever I bring one of them they ask about the others. The stray still needs a home btw! The receptionist was kind enough to post her flyers for adoption in the lobby and on their fb page:) read more

I've NEVER BEEN DISSATISFIED about anything WHATSOEVER. I get harassed all the time by the receptionist (Ms Tammy), but that's all in a loving way. I am a new puppy owner so I haven't had a lot of experience with vets, however I was very impressed with this clinic. Dr. Brinson and the support staff were sp helpful and answered all my questions. They explained each step of the process and didn't run any unnecessary tests. They handled my dogs illness very efficiently and I left with everything I needed so that my puppy can feel better! In all, the cost of the visit and treatment was WAY less than what I expected based on what other people have told me to expect from vet visits. I love love love this place. I recently moved here to Jacksonville, and a little while after moving here we took in a puppy. Being that it was our first puppy, and that he was only a month old we had so many questions! We read a couple of reviews and being that we had just made a huge move we were a little tight on money. This place took care of our puppy, and every time we go I feel like our puppy feels more and more comfortable with everyone there. The prices are more than reasonable with the care that my puppy gets! We started fostering another dog recently and we're definitely taking him here.
