The sandwich wasn't huge so it was a perfect amount for breakfast. We sat inside - it's very cute - with a market and to go as well as the tables. Food comes up fast and is really reasonably priced! The chicken was perfectly fried - not greasy - and the hot honey was a nice touch (and thankfully, not too hot). I decided on a grits bowl . I was shocked at ghe size of the bowl when it was delivered a short while later. Huge is an understatement. This mgmt change has without a doubt destroyed this place. We were seated outside-- our waiter (Johnny) came up to us (15 min later) with dirty dishes in my face taking drink orders. Our drinks haven't come for a total of FORTY THREE MINUTES. We checked in with them at the 20 minute mark mind you, so we gave them a reminder in case they forgot about us but instead passed it on and doubled it for the timing! There is no excuse for this. We all got up and left the table and saw our waiter inside chatting it up at the bar with his coworker holding our drinks. When I made a complaint to mgmt, it was even recognized that they've had issues with Johnny and said sorry. The whole entire staff just seemed very unbothered and aloof to everything. We have some friends who live on the island and when we asked them about the King and Prince, each and every one of them talked about how its now a shithole. They've heard stories about the staff, below average food/drinks, and overall atmosphere that has seemed to have declined when mgmt changed in 2024. You can expect to be greeted by a rude individual at the pastry counter or the register. Speaking of the register watch out for their additional fees and charges. The charges would not be so bad if the food was halfway decent (for the price) or the service was great. Eggs are premade- so don't even bother with those. on a typical summer day they will be out of everything by 10:30am even though Winn-Dixie is right across the parking lot. It's open until 2:00 but kitchen staff usually cuts it off about 1:15. I don't blame them though... Such a miserable group of people working there, I would try to duck out early too! I'm sad this island staple has gone downhill over the years... There is competition on the island now- we don't have to tolerate this anymore.
