I really wanted to like this place because the food was actually pretty good, but the service was disappointing. My meal came out incorrectly, and no one checked on us once after the food was delivered. No "How is everything?" No water. No opportunity to let anyone know there was an issue with my order so it could be fixed. We basically ate our entire meal without seeing anyone. Ironically, the one thing that did show up promptly was the check. It felt less like like they were ready for us to leave. The food has potential, if they can get the basics right and/or just correct what was wrong. We had the BEST breakfast at Palmer's in St. Simons, GA! Everything was absolutely delicious, and the experience from start to finish was wonderful. The restaurant was clean, the staff was so friendly, and the food was incredible! My husband ordered the Marinated Flank Steak, Eggs with JB's Steak Sauce, and Breakfast Potatoes, while I had the Southwest Omelet with a side of Breakfast Potatoes. Everything was cooked perfectly, fresh, flavorful, and so satisfying! We were both so impressed with our meals and will definitely be back. We checked out Palmer's Cafe shortly after their recent renovation and on one of their first nights open for dinner--so glad we did! The space looks great, and it was exciting to see them expanding into dinner service. I went in craving a good burger and ordered the Smashburger, upgrading to the truffle fries... and wow. Sooo good. The burger was perfectly cooked, flavorful, and everything you want from a smash-style burger. The truffle fries were absolutely worth the upgrade--crispy, indulgent, and hard to stop eating. Overall, a great first dinner experience post-renovation. We've been here for breakfast, but wanted to try their dinner menu. We arrived during happy hour. We were able to try a few things off the happy hour menu. We ordered a crab dip with wonton chips, crabcake, and tomato soup. The server indicated the offerings were half price, but also reduce portions. Everything was fine when it came out. The crabcake was a little soft texture for me but again fine. Tomato soup was unremarkable but tasty, and the crab dip was nice and probably my favorite. We also ordered a couple glasses of wine. My wife then ordered a goat cheese and pear salad with steak rare and I ordered the double bone in pork chop. I asked for it to be on the rare side. The pork chop was a decent size on a bed of mashed potatoes. The pork chop came out a little more cooked than I like however, it was good. My wife enjoyed the salad and steak which was cooked perfectly and a nice portion. We would probably try again and give it another chance since it was a positive experience read more

This place is one of St.Simons Island's hidden gems! Featuring a mix of seafood and American-style cuisine with some southern flair, the food is quite delicious! I highly recommend their buffalo crab dip, a concoction that is a buffalo cheese dip served with fresh lump crab. You can really taste the crab in this dish. They don't skimp on it at all. The most clever thing that they did here, though, is to serve it with wonton chips. It's something that's truly unique, as most restaurants would serve a dish like this with regular chips. The wonton chips are a treat unto themselves, having great wonton flavor. However, when you combine it with the dip, it really takes it over the top. Highly recommend. For my entree, I had their Cajun Alfredo pasta. It is linguine served in a "Cajun-spiced Alfredo sauce". It is "served with tasso and smoked sausage", and you can choose to have it with either chicken or wild GA shrimp. In either case, once again, they do not skimp . You get a heaping portion of either chicken or shrimp, and the sauce is very tasty. It is just as described, an Alfredo sauce with a little Cajun flavor, though it is not spicy. It is served with no sides, but no sides are necessary as it is a hearty portion all by itself. Very delicious. The most impressive thing that I saw is that the owner is very hands-on. They have these new-fangled mobile electronic lamps, and the owner came by and noticed that ours wasn't quite working. He replaced it immediately himself. He was very friendly and chatted us up. He also went around and was serving and clearing tables himself. It seems that if you eat here, there's a strong possibility that you could end up meeting the owner! Meeting him was a very nice touch. The only thing that I had a hard time with here was choosing a dish because everything looked so good on the menu! Delicious food and great service. This place is always so consistent with their quality of food. Stopped in for bfast before heading to the beach walk. There's usually a line and I only waited about 7 minutes-so worth it! This is a small place but they staff it well and everyone is so nice. I had coffee and the special of the morning. It consisted of 3 seared scallops, 2 eggs over cheesy grits and a homemade biscuit. What a great way to start the day! The scallops were seared perfectly and the homemade biscuit ( which I drizzled honey over) was delish!! We decided to check out Palmer's for brunch today. When we arrived they told us the wait was 15-20 mins. They were spot on, just under 20 mins. I decided to try the Chix Pot Pie Omelet with breakfast potatoes. Yum, a nice comfort food mash-up. The Omelet had great flavor and the potatoes were cooked perfectly with an Old Bay seasoning. Hubs was going to get an Omelet but changed his mind and got a burger instead. He said the burger was seasoned and cooked perfectly and included fresh lettuce, tomato, and onion. The service was friendly and efficient. We will definitely be back on our next visit to the area. read more

I ordered an egg white omelette that had ricotta and bacon on a bed of arugula and grilled tomatoes. It was so good. The grits were the best I've ever had. If there were .5 stars, I'd say this was a 3.5. We have had incredible food with every restaurant we have been to this weekend. My husband ordered the Challah French toast with fresh berries. Here on a little getaway with the hubby and wanted a brunch spot around our condo. This place was right around the corner from us so it was perfect. It is small and the wait for 2 was 10 min but if your party is bigger you'll be waiting a while to sit. The service was wonderful. Very nice and super friendly! The atmosphere is really nice. Since the renovation, it was highly recommended. I was disappointed. My husband asked if the Cajun shrimp pasta dish was spicy and was told it was not. It was too spicy for him to eat. I like hot and spicy and it was a little too much for me. I ordered the scallops and they were good but the whole dish was cool, not even warm and for $30.00, there were only 3 scallops, when most other restaurants would do 5. We had a group of around 20 guests, for a private birthday party on Wednesday. We had the private room in the back, and they even let us play our own (non-bothersome & appropriate) music. I had the Tuscan chicken atop pimento cheese grits with potato gratin. It rivaled some of the best meals I've ever had. Chicken was juicy, grits were fluffy, everything was excellent. Dessert: TRY THE BRÛLÉE'D KEY LIME PIE! You will not regret it. Atmosphere: wonderful. Such a beautiful restaurant, and the chef came out and asked us how everything was, and thanked us personally for dining with them. Service: A++. I forget the gentleman's name that took care of us but he was great. As a server myself, I know how difficult my friends can be at restaurants.
