Honestly we didn't have a great experience here the other day for brunch. We expected there to be long wait times for tables in saint simons this weekend as it was a holiday weekend. We were told that it would be about an hour and a half for a table we were ok with that and put our name on the list. I would say it took about an hour for a table. Our server immediately came to the table to ask for our drink orders so we thought we were off to a great start. She also took our food orders rather quickly. However, after that she pretty much disappeared on us. She never once came by to ask if we needed any more mimosas or refills on our waters. She didn't even let us know that the kitchen was backed up. We had to ask the hostess to look for her as it had been 45 minutes after ordering and we had no sign of her. She was outside texting. She then came by and said it's a holiday weekend it's going to be busy and then walked away. Our food was delish and we really liked what we ordered but by the time we got it we had been at the restaurant for at least an hour after ordering. I had the breakfast sandwich that was basically like a bacon and and cheese with tomato on a sandwich with cheesy grits on the side. We waved her down to close out and left right after we finished eating. Server was not friendly or attentive. read more

Enjoying my visit to St Simon's Island and our first lunch was at this fun delish place. The three of us got a high top and ordered bloody Mary's and a screwdriver. The bloody Mary's were tasty, the right amount of spice and a great skewer with a large olive, pickled okra and pickled celery. So tasty! Our lunch was the Georgia shrimp frittata with cheesy grits, Huevos Esplendido and the Back Home sandwich with roasted potatoes. My shrimp frittata was simply amazing-served nice and hot and the cheesy grits were exactly as they should be here in Georgia-creamy and cheesy. Our wait staff was super attentive and friendly. What a nice little restaurant! Friendly folks, GREAT meal, very calm to have a conversation & a great cup of coffee! They close at 2 pm. Nice patio & just down from the SSI Pier. They have a small pickup counter for coffee & treats. Mom had an omlet with salsa, avocado... and side of grits. I had the pimento cheese & side orzo. We both Raved!!! All so delicious!!!!! An old house right on the Mallery St that is now a great restaurant. They have indoor and outdoor seating. The staff is friendly and all work very well together. The menu has a little something for everyone. We were a party of three and each got a different sandwich. The Cuban had loads of meat and the bread was delicious. The ham panini was pressed just right with the cheese dripping off the sides. The Waldorf sandwich was stuffed with fresh ingredients. The sides were all very good. They were very busy and it took a while for our food to arrive, but the wait was certainly worth it. read more

Stopped in for lunch on a recent three-night trip to St. Simons Island and had a tasty lunch along with a cappucino. The Cubano sandwich was first rate. My son (20) got the Bagel & Lox which he enjoyed BUT there were too many extras on it, such as cucumber and avocado, which made it difficult to eat. We sat on the patio which was very nice. We had planned to just stop in for coffee but it was so nice sitting outside on the patio that i decided that I needed a muffin too. First, my latte was excellent. The muffin though ! Oh my goodness it was a cranberry lemon muffin. I expected a little lemon flavor- maybe a little zest but no! This muffin actually had some type of lemon jam in it. Absolutely delicious. I highly recommend. Service was also excellent. It is a great location- right in the middle of the village.it does get crowded though. read more

We came here for breakfast- missing the crowd by coming a little early at 9:30am. The coffee was fantastic! I had the sea salt caramel & toffee latte which was sooo good. The coffee is amazing. Some of the best coffee I've ever had. We love the white beach coffee the most. The food, meh it's ok. Service wasn't the best the last time we went. We got there at 10 and it was dead, but took ten minutes for our coffees to come out after we ordered. Hubby asked for a to go cup and after ten minutes of waiting he had to go up to the counter to get it. Also, when are they going to fix the vents with rust and the straighten the pictures on the walls. No care to how they look and the vents scare me. I've visited Palm Coast a lot during my visits to SSI and have always had such a lovely experience. This morning I decided to place an order via Toast for pickup and it was a seamless process. They offer pastries, coffee, breakfast as well as lunch good, and a chill atmosphere. When I arrived, I let the staff know that I had an online order and the food was in my hand in less than a minute. Since my friends decided that they actually wanted to sit down and eat, we grabbed a table and the server was more than happy to bring me a plate so I could eat with everyone else. I had a breakfast plate with scrambled cheese eggs, grits, sausage, and a flaky buttery croissant. Everything was absolutely fresh and delicious. The portion size was pretty big and I was unable to finish everything at once (yay for leftovers). This is one of my favorite places to come to when I'm visiting because the staff is always super friendly and the food never fails. read more

My favorite spot for breakfast on the island! This place literally never disappoints whether you're popping in for breakfast, lunch or even just coffee and a pastry! This time I ordered the strawberry French toast and an iced vanilla latte and both were perfect! The French toast was perfectly cooked just how I liked it and the latte was delicious. We also got a breakfast plate and I had forgotten how much I love their link sausage, it's seriously some of the best I've had in a long time. We sat outside, as they have a lot of tables in their adorable outdoor space. We started with two lattes with almond milk and extra shots. I should have asked if their almond milk was sweetened (it was). The lattes were both weak (even with the extra shots), and terribly sweet. I haven't had sugar in my coffee in years, and the sweetened almond milk was such a bummer. For our entrees, both of us had the huevos esplendido - mine without the wrap, and his with. They were both delicious. My husband got the breakfast potatoes which were seasoned well, but not crispy. My grits were the standard variety thin, water-based grits. Neither side was a winner in my book. Service was fast except for the lattes, which arrived after our food. Honestly, I'd return just for the huevos esplendido, and get regular coffee the next time. read more

I came here twice and I was very happy with my food both times. Their omelettes are delicious, the mahi mahi sandwich with the side sauce tastes very fresh and flavorful and their Nutella butter croissant with banana and strawberries was extremely delicious but also very sweet- I mean it's Nutella- so makes sense. I wasn't a big fan of the hazelnut latte but maybe because I asked to have fewer syrup pumps so that's on me. Overall I'll go back again anytime I want a quick delicious brunch! read more

Second stop on our road trip was St. Simons. Beautiful community and it was sad to see some of the tourist decline impact at this waterfront community. This cafe seemed to offer the largest patio seating and it had a steady clientele. Good for them! The house made granola was popular but I opted for the waffle, hubby selected the veggie scramble with grits for my grits fix! Server was very pleasant and prompt. Cold waffle was replaced although I returned it to the service area directly. Fresh strawberries were delicious. Hot chocolate was hot and made with milk...rather powdery tasting though. Inside the cafe, lots of layer cake options and other treats to enjoy. Note: like many seaside communities, drinking taste was a shock. Unfortunately, it impacted the coffee taste. I came here on Monday morning for the first time while on vacation because the reviews looked good. We put our name down on the waitlist and were told about 40 minutes. After about 30 minutes we went back and asked how much longer and she said 10 more minutes. We waited on the sidewalk right next to the restaurant and after a long while I went up and asked again. She said she already called us and we never showed. The hostess who was working was in my opinion not good. She called the wrong name and even after correcting her 3 times she again called the wrong name. So no wonder we were skipped. She also never called our name "a few times" like she said. She called our names once. Waited 3 seconds and moved on to the next name. That situation is why I'm not giving them a full 5 stars. Now let's talk about the food. I ordered an iced toffee nut almond milk latte and it was okay. I barely tasted the toffee. I had the Egg White Morning sandwich and it was so good! I loved it and the breakfast potatoes were great too! I also had the Paradise Croissant and omg I loved it! It's very sweet but was really good. I loved the strawberries and bananas in it. Our server was also really great! He was nice, polite and recommended us a few things. He answered all of our questions we had and had a lot of knowledge about the food and menu. I highly recommend this place for breakfast but please be cautious you don't get skipped in line because the hostess was not the best. read more

The house recommended Palm coast Coffee, we stayed at, and the neighbors. The four of us are so glad we listened to them for our last meal on the island. We ate brunch here, and we left so happily and fulled that we took a walk for a bit of shopping after we finished our delicious meals. Our server, maybe Mackenzie, was fantastic. She answered all of our menu questions and helped us make decisions if we needed them. We began brunch with a grand mimosa, iced coffee, and two Bloody Marys, I split food with a friend so we could order savory and sweet. We got the delectable waffle, which is so fluffy with a hint of cinnamon, whipped cream, and fresh strawberries. Our savory was the Caribbean Chicken sandwich. It was the favorite main of the group. Another friend enjoyed her garden egg scramble with potatoes, while my other friend wanted the pimento cheese on sourdough but added two eggs and bacon on her sandwich with a side of chips. We all ate all of our meals but a little bit of the waffle was left. It was so much fabulous food. We will come back if we ever have the pleasure of returning to St. Simons. read more
