I have had Doug do several projects around my house.  First, he put in a back door and ramp off my back bedroom, then he put up a free-standing awning that a handyman could not install because he couldn't figure out how to do it.  Doug put up this awning all by himself, and it's quite heavy and awkward. When I first met Doug shortly after moving into my home, Doug noticed that the water heater was not vented.  The building inspector failed to notice this and did not report it.  Doug said that the water heater door, which faces outside, was not up to code and the heat buildup could cause a fire.  On further examination, Doug noticed that, yes, a small fire had occurred and melted a plastic part. Doug immediately went to the hardware store, bought a vent plate, cut the proper opening in the door and installed the vented plate. I do not hesitate to leave Doug alone in my home while he works if I'm gone.  He is very honest, is good to my dogs and his prices are very reasonable -- so reasonable, in fact, that I add to my payment and chastise him for not asking for more.

A few months back I came home to a flooded house. Apparently we had a slab leak and the damage…read moreruined the beautiful custom flooring and baseboards I had in my downstairs. After calling the flood crew and while having the house re-piped, I started calling around to find a flooring company who could help install all new flooring. Of all the contractors I called, Gabriel Herrera the owner of GH Luxury Floors was the first to answer and tell me he would help me. Not only did Gabe spend however much time I needed to explain things to me, he also came out late that same evening to look the job over. Within a couple of weeks he had ordered the same exact flooring (Thank God ) as we had before and that I still have throughout the upstairs of my house. I was very fortunate to find Gabriel. He promised me they wouldn't drag the job out and they didn't. His crew was also very punctual and polite and they always cleaned up after themselves after each days work so we could still move around our downstairs freely. Another thing that impressed me was how precise he and his crew were at putting every piece of furniture back exactly where it was before they cleared the room to install the flooring. As for the finished job, it looked better than it did originally. Everything lined up well with the flooring and the baseboards looked like one smooth piece of wood flowing through the downstairs.
