Nick and Max of Sam's Handyman Services did an amazing job of installing our new garbage disposal. They came over with their tools and expertise and had the old disposal out and the new one in place quickly. We felt like we were not able to diy this job and Nick and Max had a reasonable price for the work and didn't make us feel bad that it was above our skills. Nick communicated with us through text and kept us informed during the whole time he was scheduling and working on the job. They were tidy during the work and respectful of our kitchen tile. Nick even offered to take our old disposal and dispose of it. They left our kitchen very clean after their work. Nick said if our disposal leaked to contact him and they would come back and fix the leak as part of the job. It did leak and they came back the very next day, added some stuff they picked up on their way to our house and took the whole thing out and reinstalled. It has not leaked since they were last here. We were very impressed with their expertise and customer service and are going to have them do some more jobs at our vintage home. Max and Nick have since been to our house a number of times to do many things; hang a cabinet, hang a TV, fix the trim on the kitchen island, fix the tiles in the bathroom, fix the closet rods, hang the address numbers--and many more little projects. They are so easy to work with. They take their time to get the job done right instead of speeding through and doing a "good enough" job to make it through to the next client. I am reluctantly leaving this review. It's hard to find a good handyman. Selfishly, I don't want too many people to know about Sam because he'll get super busy and hard to book. But he's a super nice guy, does excellent work, and charges fair prices. I hired him to fix a door (see before and after pics) which I trashed by hanging hooks and then a mirror over the door. This of course required forcing the door closed which, over time, pushed it off its hinges. (Don't do this.) After I saw the finished door, I asked if he could install grab bars that I bought nearly two years ago. He even advised what the proper installation height should be. Did a great job on those so I asked him to install a ceiling fan. Of course now I've added more to the "Sam-do" list. Highly recommended. read more

Sam is the MAN. We needed a steel exterior door replaced, and another 2 doors repaired. Sam removed the old door, hung the new one, fixed the trim on the 2nd door, and repositioned the 3rd door so it fit properly. Trim, caulking, all done well. Price was decent, speed was fast, but the precision was the real gem. This guy is an engineering student. He lines were laser straight. Attention to details. Not your typical messy handyman. Then I accidentally dropped the new locking mechanism in...! Rather than trying again, I sent out a request on Yelp for a handy man & Sam came to my rescue! He messaged me with a reasonable price & came the following day. I was at work but my fiancé said he did a wonderful job. Friendly, professional, prompt & got the job done. & it was definitely not an easy job--he had to remove the sliding door, fished out the 1st locking mechanism from the door frame, then the 2nd, then installed a beautiful, new handle. I am pleased to write this review to highlight the excellent work and customer service provided in working with Sam to repair an area of my home following some demo work a few months back. The back portion of my home had a fairly sizeable space that was naturally damaged when pulling out a built in stucco bench and when I contacted Sam, he provided a timely estimate that was fair and came out within 2 days to look at the project. Not only did he repair the patch and stucco with expert ability (blending it in seamlessly), he also phased in the new pain so well that one would've never known that the stucco had been pulled out previously. Sam even went the extra mile and blended in a patch that was exposed after removing a sprinkler box and did everything with a positive/professional demeanor. He is highly communicative, professional, and completes all work with great quality and value. I would recommend his services to anyone and am looking to work with him again in the future.
