Coach Brooks and Coach Zora introduced our kid to lots of fun activities such as building forts, tide pooling, building and flying kites, hiking the slot at Annie's Canyon, and even encountering rattlesnakes. There were 7 pickleball courts available for open play during our visit. We played on the 4 courts in front of the pro shop. 2 courts per fenced area with no divider between the courts. Balls will roll onto your court during play, but you knew that anyway. The courts were in great shape as well as the nets. There's covered/shaded seating in this area as you wait for your next game. All the players we played with were very friendly and helpful with explaining how to paddle in for the next game. I hope they're able to open more courts in the future. Regardless, I had a good first visit and I'd play here again if I'm in the neighborhood. Enjoy...

I visited Bobby Riggs for open play and must say that this is a pretty nice facility. However, upon…read morearrival found that the parking situation is not great. There is only a small dedicated lot and street parking. It doesn't help that people camp out in the lot waiting for a spot which blocks the flow of traffic. But parking on the street wasn't too difficult. Check in for open play is in the pro shop which has an excellent variety of all things pickleball including paddles that you can demo for $10. You also need to pay then and there (I wish there was a way to sign up online). It looks like the facility is being remodeled so there were only 4 courts near the pro shop for more advanced, then 2 courts for intermediate. The courts are in very good condition with wind screens and convenient rest areas in the middle. Altogether I had a pretty good time and everyone I encountered was friendly.

UPDATE: I had a very nice conversation with Daniel, the owner and he was receptive to my feedback…read moreand it ended up being a positive experience. They were very accommodating after I explained my experience. I appreciate when an owner cares and especially from parent to parent, can relate and adjust. We will try it out again in the future! PREVIOUS REVIEW: After being inundated with emails about how flexible they are about camps, I booked a few days thinking that in the worst case (since you can book the night before) that I could just cancel if my kids didn't love it. Overall, my kids did OK, but I could tell it wasn't something they could do for more than 1 day. I opted to not proceed with the camp, but was told there was nothing they could do for me to give me a refund. I can understand if you need to manage staffing, but if you're allowing people to book the night before, clearly its not a staffing issue, you're just unwilling to give parents their money back. I wouldn't recommend booking more than 1 day at a time.
