Dr Kawasaki is the absolute best pediatrician - she is a great listener and truly cares about her patients. She's super smart - but humble and approachable. There are few western doctors that thoroughly take into account things like diet and lifestyle and Kawasaki always made me feel like her advice was sound and THOROUGH. She knows so much about all the things and stays current by reading a ton constantly...she's seriously always learning the latest news in children's health. Sadly we moved away and I am trying to find a new amazing doctor for my daughter. I can't find anyone that compares. Dr Saul is the best! He is very knowledgeable. He also goes above and beyond when you have a true emergency. My oldest had to be rushed to the ER and we were blessed to have Dr Saul come check on him every day and fight for his care in the hospital. I've been taking my 4 kids to Dr Saul for 12 years and I won't go anywhere else. We also saw and liked Dr Kawasaki occasionally but now that she is retired, we like the new PA also. I love that Dr Saul will see sick children on the same day. I love that he takes a holistic approach to wellness by evaluating multiple aspects of more difficult problems that are hard to diagnose. I have never had a problem with the front office staff because I don't get snappy with them and I understand that seeing Dr Saul same day means I may have to wait (if another patient takes more time or he takes longer at the hospital that morning). Be prepared to wait in your car or outside since Dr Saul spends the needed time with true emergencies and difficult cases and be thankful that when your child needs that kind of attention, Dr Saul will provide it even if it means that he is "running late". read more

We love Rolling Oaks Pediatrics. My son has gone to 4 different pediatricians in his short lifetime. We try to go natural as much as possible and I feel like the Rolling Oaks peds. are respectful of that. We go to Dr Kawasaki. She always takes time with each patient. She talks to my other child even when it's not their appointment. The front desk attendants are always kind and professional The nurses are kind too though there seems to be some turnover when the nurses so we don't get to know any of them well. We usually go early in the morning so we rarely wait long. They have a small sick room which is nice. They also have cars outside that kids can use while they wait (though they've been put away during the pandemic). Making non emergency appointments can be challenging. It usually takes about a month to book, so plan ahead. Also if you forget and miss your appointment (which I did, chalk it up to new mom brain) you will be charged $75 before you can book a new one. Parking: They have a large lot on one side of the building which is nice. Also you walk straight into the doctors office, and do not have to go through a building or on elevators which is especially nice right now. read more

As my child is about to turn 17 - they asked how long they could see Dr. Kawasakai... She was so sweet and said they could see her until 19 or 20. We have been with Dr. Kawasaki since my child was 3. The best part is she has always offered several modalities, and we choose together what works best. Sometimes it's more holistic, and sometimes it's more western medicine. She always takes her time to educate me on both choices. While we are not 100% Holistic- our family tends to gravitate towards it. She is respectful of either of my choices. It's a team effort. Dr. Saul was the on call doctor for my pediatrician when my family had an emergency. My daughter had been in the ER the day before, and I noticed something was off the next day and left a message with his office. Dr. Saul called as soon as he could, listened to what was happening, and recommended I go back to the ER. He also called the ER head doctor and made sure he was aware of our situation so that when we came in we were seen and evaluated quickly. In the end everything was okay, but I so appreciated how quickly he moved and how proactive he was. In 8 years of being a parent this was my first emergency and I'm grateful he was the one I got in touch with. The icing on the cake? He called AND texted later in the day to make sure my daughter (who isn't even his patient) was ok. I imagine his patients are in very good hands. read more

I could cry at how grateful I am that Dr. Kawasaki is our kiddos' pediatrician. My son was diagnosed with a neuromuscular condition and so we have been overly exposed to doctors and hospitals. Without writing a novel, after considering all the recommendations from mothers/friends in the Conejo Valley I felt safe going to her. She lives up to her reputation and then some. Dr. K is the ONLY one I truly appreciate and trust wholeheartedly. She goes above and beyond. She is highly intelligent, patient, provides her undivided focus and attention (never feels like she. has one foot out the door to go off to another patient), she is research based, professional, compassionate (not only to my highly anxious self) and my kids actually look forward to seeing her. My daughter is five and we have been going to Dr. Saul since she was born. I love him. That said the front office staff and the nurses act like this is a doctor's office for adults. We have routinely waited over 45 minutes to an hour for every scheduled appointment. The nurses I have seen are rude and could not care less about my daughter, she is not too scared of shots, but the nurses who give the shots are rude and act like they are giving a shot to a 35 year old. The front office staff is rude and condescending. They have always been that way and they do not change. Obviously they are a major problem here and the office will not replace them. I decided to leave this office recently. In December 2022 my daughter was not feeling well. She had a mild fever when she went to take a nap at 10:30 (99.4). At 11:15 she woke up screaming, she had thrown up all over herself and her temperature was 104.2. I immediately gave her Tylenol and put her in a tepid bath. I called the office in a panic and explained what was happening. I was told the doctor could see her at noon. We came in 5 minutes early and there were 15 plus kids waiting. At 12:35 I walked up (I was angry) to the front desk and explained that my daughter had an appointment at noon, and that she did not belong out there with the other kids. The lady at the back desk came over and told me "well you cannot really expect to see the doctor at your appointment time." I explained (OK yelled) to her that while I agreed with this statement for adults, kids who are ill should be seen. I additionally explained that my daughter was very ill and there was nowhere to wait where she would not possibly infect others. She told me we could go wait outside but that no one would come out to let us know if we were called. At this point I was irate and lost it. I almost left for the emergency room, but felt it was better not to stand on principal when it was her who would suffer. We waited until 1:15 and then saw a nurse, who confirmed she had the flu. I will never come back. Dr. Saul and Dr. K are good, but there are a lot of pediatricians who are wonderful in this area, and I would not recommend bringing your child here. read more

We have seen Dr Kawasaki since my 4 and 5 year old were born. I trust her and appreciate her approach to pediatric medicine. She offers a holistic perspective and alternative medicines if needed. Instead of just prescribing antibiotics for every little thing, she allows the virus to run its course. I also LOVE her delayed vaccine schedule. I've compared vaccine charts with other parents and my kids get exactly what they need and no more. That peace of mind for me is priceless. Dr. Kawasaki has been with us from the start... 12 years and 4 children later, I can honestly say that I feel overwhelming grateful that she is their doctor and that she continues to be such an amazing support in keeping our children healthy and happy. This review is specifically about the head nurse who has completely soured our experience here. Dr. Saul came highly recommended to us through friends and other medical professionals. We are first time parents and didn't know much of what to expect when interviewing pediatricians. Dr. Saul seemed to have a balanced and moderate approach to things. The nurse who we encounter each time we come here, however, has been so rude and downright mean, that I have anxiety every time I pull into the parking lot. Let me give you some examples: 1. When my son was about 6 weeks old, my best friend and I brought him in for a checkup. I was experiencing a fair amount of postpartum anxiety for which she clearly had little regard. I told her I fainted easily and she was very short with us and told me that she had a lot of patients to see that day. When my friend and I tried to keep our voices down after the baby fell asleep (we were waiting there for almost an hour - I almost fell asleep myself), she came in very loud and we met her with soft voices. We told her the baby was asleep and she said, "Oh, we don't change for the baby at our house. The baby needs to learn to change to us." As a mental health professional with an MA in psychology I can tell you there is something very wrong with that statement. But also, who cares what you do in your house? What does it cost you to use a quieter voice for a few seconds? After the doctor came and went, we waited for another 30 minutes for her to return with immunization shots. We had put his clothes on because it was cold in the room and we were waiting for so long. She was clearly irritated with us for putting his clothes on and made a statement about how we need to do what we're told. My friend and I looked at each other baffled and chalked it up to her having a bad day. 2. When giving him his second set of shots on another visit, this nurse became visibly upset, scoffed at my baby for crying and expressing nervousness in his face and body language and said, "Well, he tensed up so he's gonna bruise now. He needs to learn to relax." He's like 14 weeks old lady? What coping skills for relaxation do you think he's mastered? He can't even wipe his own bum. 3. The last thing I will mention is the Denver Developmental Screening Test - when we first received this test it seemed to ask about normal milestones to check in on for his age. But each time we came in we were asked to check on more things that seemed far advanced for his age. The one that stuck out to me the most was that a question about eating solids came up at about 3 months. Any mom knows that is not a reasonable question to ask, since even babies advanced with solids don't start until at least 4.5-5 months. The first couple times I was given what was clearly an incorrect part of the survey, I went along and did my best. Finally on one appointment I asked the doctor about it and he confirmed that I had been asked the wrong questions and told me to erase my previous answers. That felt reasonable, I understand mistakes are sometimes made. And so I followed his guidance and erased some answers for questions that were not relevant. Today when the nurse came in, again very short and dismissive, she criticized me for erasing the answers. She said I had messed up the whole thing and now she couldn't score it. I told her I had done what the doctor had told me and she interrupted me mid sentence to tell me "Dr. Saul doesn't know what he's talking about. He doesn't understand this test." I said okay, but that I was just doing what I was told and I think that the doctor was just trying to help me because it seemed I was being asked the wrong questions for my son's age. She scoffed, reiterated that Dr. Saul doesn't know what he's talking about and left the room. I was pretty in shock. She came back seconds later, obviously angry, and started stating that I also don't know what I'm talking about. I told her I was on very little sleep, that my son was sick and that I needed her to take a step back from the conversation and try to be a bit kinder. She stated, "I am being kind and I've been doing this for 17 years." I told her that I needed her to leave the room. Please keep in mind these are only the most egregious comments. There were many other unkind statements I am not including here. I hear so many positive reviews from Dr. Saul and I understand why, but I am so curious why no one talks about this woman's demeanor and how mean spirited she is. Even if I were to look past the way she treated me, the way she treated my son was unacceptable. Today was our last visit to Rolling Oaks Pediatrics. I hope no one else has to suffer through this woman's lack of empathy. And I hope she can find some understanding for why "17 years of experience" does not excuse a terrible bedside manner. read more

He cares about your kids, he explains everything to you and then checks on you and your children to see how they are doing and always, somehow gets you in-even when you don't have an appointment. They are always available, reliable and wonderful! Both of my sons have had some pretty bad coughs, flus and injuries. Dr. Saul & Dr. Kawasaki are the ONLY pediatricians I would trust. They are kind, understanding and I have never been made to feel rushed out of the office or that I am asking too many questions. Quite the opposite. They encourage questions and are happy to explain everything in detail. Seriously...the best Pediatricians in the area. They are always on call, and reachable. When my son had stomach pain 4 years ago, he had to go to Children's Hospital. I was scared and had just gone thru a painful foot surgery. My poor son had chronic stomach pain, he was in so much pain and the whole time while we were going thru test after test, Dr. Saul was calling me at home and making sure we were ok, getting updates so he could stay informed of our progress and checking in because he is a doctor who cares about his patients. He was so understanding and compassionate at a difficult time- I will never be able to explain how much I appreciated his reaching out to see how we were. His concern for my son was genuine. If he could do anything on his end...he would. His words of support got us through...he is amazing. Now, years later, we still go there and always feel safe and in good hands with Rolling Hills Pediatrics. By the way, the ladies in the front office are wonderful as well. Words can't express what a godsend Dr Kawasaki has been for our family. We've been seeing her since both of our daughters were newborns and we feel so lucky to have her in our lives.
