My mother's prescription records show that she was prescribed (among various other monthly meds) 180 Percocet tablets as a 30-day supply, with each tablet containing 325 mg of acetaminophen (Tylenol). Her death certificate ultimately listed acetaminophen/Tylenol overdose as her cause of death. I also personally had serious concerns about the way her medications were managed. Her appointments with Dr. Darden were often conducted over Zoom and, in my experience, very little time was spent with her before refills and/or new prescriptions were issued. After her death and reviewing her medications more closely, I was deeply disturbed by what I learned and have serious questions about the prescribing and monitoring of her medications. I am not claiming to make a medical or legal determination about who was responsible for her death. I am sharing the documented facts surrounding my mother's prescriptions, what I personally observed regarding her appointments, and the concerns our family has as a result. I strongly encourage patients and their families to be proactive: understand every medication being prescribed, know what ingredients are in them, ask about interactions and cumulative dosages, and seek a second opinion if something does not feel right. I wish more than anything that I had known then what I know now.

This review is for the medical practice rather than Dr. Tenenbaum himself…read more I've been a patient of Dr. Tenenbaum (technically one of his physician's assistants...you know the deal) for about 3 years. My medical history is pretty normal, so there isn't much to cover here: go in, get blood work done, get reminded that I have such-and-such value that is slightly above the norm for the population. Rinse, repeat. What drove me away from this practice (other than the 2020 pandemic...) is that Dr. Tenenbaum transitioned his practice to...concierge medicine. This artificially reduces the number of available physicians in the area, ultimately driving up medical costs for patients who do not necessarily need 24/7 support. I cannot ethically support this business practice, despite having the privilege of being able to pay an extra $200/mo for a service that I will likely not benefit significantly from...at least in the short term. I request that physicians reconsider going 100% concierge and consider a hybrid practice model. Allow those who cannot afford concierge medicine the ability to unlock a variety of physicians in the area. Healthcare is challenging enough as it is in this country...please don't add to the problem.

Needing a General Practitioner, we persevered in our search and are so lucky to have found a pot of gold in the form of Dr. Manoj Aswani at Arroyo Oaks Medical Group in Thousand Oaks several years ago. My husband and I feel that Dr. Aswani epitomizes "excellence" as far as a physician is concerned. He's very knowledgeable, patient, kind, a great listener, and has a wonderful way of explaining the "whats" and "whys" of any treatments that may be necessary. One of the things I especially appreciate is his way of making me feel that I'm important, and that my concerns are legitimate. My husband is in 100% agreement. Another definite plus is Dr. Aswani's nurse, Jenn. She, too, is an excellent example of what a person in the medical field should be. She's friendly, pleasant, helpful, knows exactly what she's doing and extremely efficient. There's never been a time that she hasn't returned a phone call, which is amazing, considering the patient load. They're a great team, and I/we recommend them highly. I also want to mention the front office staff, since they're the first people we see when we sign in, and they're so important. Over the years we've come to know Veronica, who always has a smile and a special greeting for us. She never misses a beat or loses her cool as she deals with the constant phone calls, paperwork and forms, booking follow-up appointments and questions from patients. Suffice it to say, we're happy!

First off they don't take insurance and they charge over $500 for a visit. The initial visit was a blood draw which was reasonably priced but to see a doctor it was 500 minimum. That was wild. I'm from San Francisco and they charge her insurance. They would never asked those that are financially strapped to put out that kind of money for a short visit. And then there was no follow-up. When I called I was blowing off by a man that answered the phone that didn't sound very experienced. He didn't know what he was talking about. He was kind of rude. It was a huge turn off. And I never really got the answers that I was looking for. He told me absolutely nothing. I got a prescription and that was it. No detailed description of what they found in my blood work. That was also strange. In every other circumstance where I saw a doctor they would sit down with me and talk me through it. I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone. They lack compassion and empathy, follow through, and charge way too much for what they do. Also I did notice that they double dipped. They charged me out of my own pocket but then also charge my insurance company. So they're not ethical as well. Thankfully I'm doing okay and I won't need to see them again. But I put the word out. I think other people need to be warned. I also noticed from other reviews that if you say anything negative about them they come on here and they lie. That's not okay. They're trying to intimidate people. That should also be a big turn off to those looking for a doctor.
