If communication had of been for front from the beginning we would be in a better place. We were about to receive the 2nd sliding door. Based on dates given to us by Sunco we removed the existing sliding door and frame the day before Sunco were to install the new frame and doors. Come the next morning they phone informing us "Oh, we received the wrong doors, we cant come over". After informing them we have already removed the existing frame and doors based on dates confirmed by SunCo that week, we told SunCo to deliver the frame. Our question to them was "why did they not know this BEFORE?" We had to tack the frame in with nails and used plastic tarp to cover where the sliding doors would go. That was September 16th. It's now Jan 31st. We have ply wood and a plastic tarp where the sliding doors would go. They did provide us with ply wood.We made the team deliver the doors last week. We we will install the frame ourselves. There have been external influences which have not been SunCos fault. We accept these issues (The replacement sliding doors were lost, the 2nd set of replacement doors were correct but did not ship the hardware to install the sliding doors). The BIGGEST complaint is the lack of communication and customer service. SunCo have no idea what either is. We never received updates from the owner, we ALWAYS had to chase him down and ask for an update. When we had days they were supposed to install the sliding doors, we had arranged people to be at the house. SunCo didn't turn up and no email until later in the afternoon often AFTER we had communicated with them asking for an update. The first sliding door we received had a scratch on the glass. I requested compensation. We agreed on a price. Five weeks later we are still waiting. Sunco agree to pay for our Hydro bill. Five weeks later and two emails we are still waiting. I have a very strong feeling we will not be receiving any money. As a customer who had paid in full for two sliding doors the level of customer service was atrocious. As soon as things started to go wrong the owner backed away from dealing with us. Our fault for not researching before we purchased sliding doors. We will not make that mistake again. Next time we will buy from Vancouver.

We were guaranteed a perfect door match if we purchased a new door from them. We were asked to supply our existing door and they would cut the holes for the hinges and door lock set and match the door. We got back a door with all the wrong holes but when we told them, Ross (owner) told us we were wrong and had supplied him with the wrong information. How is that possible when we brought in our existing back door for them to match? He was abusive and rude and the second door we had cut also had incorrect holes for the door knob and deep scratches on the frame. He told us to go out and buy a new door lock set to cover the scratches! We will never deal with this company again and you shouldn't either.

As I said each time I left "see you in 15 minutes" Anyway they have an array of the common items. The staff has been awesome help pointing me in the right direction. Very friendly. This store is a life saver!…read more We are contractors and had a job on Orcas Island. We had never been to Orcas before and were unfamiliar with the area. Before we set out for the island, I looked up local hardware stores (just in case). I found Island Hardware & Supply, called them to make sure they would have what we MIGHT need, hopped in the truck and got on the ferry. OF COURSE it turned out that we DID need some items, so we set off for the Hardware store. We got lost and ended up at the little hardware store in East Sound - we thought we were at the right store, but they didn't have any of the supplies we needed. We were pretty confused until I found out from a local resident that the little hardware store in East Sound is on North Beach Road, and the big hardware store (Island Hardware) is on West Beach Road. So we hopped back in the truck again, and set out to find Island Hardware. (yes, we got losat again...but eventually figured it out) We were so relieved when we located the store and were able to purchase the supplies we needed, because we were thinking that we would have to get on the ferry and drive to the home depot in Mt Vernon (that would have taken forever). Island Hardware had all the stuff we wanted, lumber, tools, big bolts, lag screws, plumbing supplies etc. They even have a couple of little gas pumps which was handy for us. We had the occassion to go back up to Orcas for round two of the job which was exterior painting. The paint we purchased needed to be re-tinted at the last minute. We remembered that Island Hardware had a paint department and took the buckets of paint to them with our fingers crossed. Even though we didn't buy the paint from them, they happily re-tinted it for us...I thought that was pretty generous and excellent customer service!
