I am wow'ed by Neil's service over and over again. The most recent service provided; I have a brand new laptop Windows 10 I purchased in 2016. This laptop never worked well. It had countless Windows 10 updates and if it was not updating then DELL was updating. I felt like I could not use this laptop it was too busy updating!!! It was also slow, and finally would not boot-up. Feeling like I had a "lemon", and now it's out of warranty, I brought it to Neil. Doing a diagnostic he found the registry had been corrupt due to Windows 10 update! Neil went straight to work on my laptop. He insured my data was backed up, he did a factory reset (wiped the HD) AND in less than 48-hrs I now have a like-new Laptop!!! The best part Neil listened to my complaints about the way the computer was running, and what I do NOT like about Windows 10. When I brought my laptop home and booted it up I was SO HAPPY and surprised everything I hoped to change about my experience with my laptop and Windows 10... Neil made all my dreams come true! I needed to recover data from my internal hard drive which had failed. I wasted my time with Best Buy's Geek Squad, only to explain them how to do their own job properly They analyzed the backup drive and not the main drive... and insightfully diagnosed it to be empty - I could have told them so myself. After what they told me they weren't equipped with the technology to read my Solid State internal hard drive - that is, after I pointed out to them which internal hard drive had data that needed to be recovered -, that The drive would have to send it out to a lab, and it would cost like $3600. and would take 6 to 8 weeks.i did not agree with the price too high decided to get second try.Went online did some research found Bay Area Computer Repairs i setup an appointment, Neil is geniuses.Had a five star experience at this place.He told me the drive lost its partition. I thought lost all my pics and neil did his best and got all the pics and docs back. I had valuable family pics from 2006 all over my laptop on pics docs desktop folders and had to organized them again but at least it was alll recovered. This is the reason I used Neil - I found him on google and yelp - can't go wrong with Neil . Neil is highly rated on yelp and google .He will help you if you nice and respectful to him. He will go beyond and do extra stuff as long you are nice and respectful. I was so lucky to find him because I need my computer to work badly because I need to look for a job and I am very much depended on this computer. Took the computer to Neil (BAY AREA COMPUTER REPAIRS) and he fixed the registry boot error in 30 minutes. since I told him I come from far away he was able give me the appointment time ASAP and I showed up and Neil fixed it right away so I did not have to make a double trip too pick my computer .I highly recommend Neil. He is a respectful guy, and friendly, who knows what he is doing . Neil also told me that there are rude calling him and people who are not respectful .He will refuse your service if you are threat to him. I wish I could give Coastside Computer Repair more stars!!!! They were fantastic! Fair! Effective! Friendly! And most of all HONEST!!! I made a appointment with Neil this morning for most effective way to fix my problem, I was there at 10 am, Neil look at my computer discuss the pricing and I agreed on the price and he ordered the part right away I (needed a new hard drive) the price was VERY FAIR. My laptop was ready in in 2 days cause the part takes time to come. What I have to mention, is that yesterday I went to best buy, such a rip-off, they were going to charge me $250.00 just too look at it and I would have been without my laptop for 2 weeks because the technician said he would have to "order" the part. Not nice!!! When the hard drive they sell was on the store. Highly recommended if anyone want to use his service. read more

I barely write reviews on yelp and google but this made me very happy cause I just happen to save 2k trying to buy a new gaming machine. Neil was generous to come to my house and within a sec he was able to find the fault in my computer. Neil delivered new system helped me set it up and when I had a bit of an issue he came back over for free and stood behind his system, for some reason he had to reload windows, Neil is honest and helped and got my new system working properly with new router, new printer and everything he set everything up wireless and I gotta tell you I'm super happy he is honest and he knows how to fix computers. Recently I purchased an HDMI cable well I got the screen to come on but for some reason there was no sound so Neil offered to drop by as I'm in the same city and help me out at no charge. Absolutely amazing! My PC is like got virus. I took it to 2 places to no available. One replaced the hard drive but the problem reappeared a week later. Another one straight up offered to do the same thing. Both did not have anything else to think of after their solution did not work out. Until...I found Bay Area Computer Repairs on yelp! Neil at first offered the same suspicion too. But soon he found out a faulty cable. I got it fixed just for 75$. I re-upgraded my graphics card and SDD for overall 440$! He is also brought my computers (I have two: one PC and one Mac) up to date and streamlined all my connections. Everything is now running at its best. My desktop - where I do all my business - wouldn't boot up, just two months after the 3 year service agreement expired. It's an awful feeling. I found Neil on Yelp and with all the 5 stars decided to try them. I took it in yesterday afternoon and Neil called this morning to say it needed a new hard drive. He replaced the hard drive, restored all the information and returned the laptop this afternoon completely fixed for a great price. He is competent, friendly and gives great value. I took my laptop apart and i did not know what i was doing .So I called Neil because the screen in the computer was DAMAGED .I searched online and found Bay Area Computer Repair . Neil is a very good technician for MACs. He was honest and prompt and came by my house to assess the problem. He tried a few options and ended up taking the machine back to his shop , but in the end his finding was that the battery was fried and the hard drive died. I could have replaced the parts but it really was not worth it. It was a good thing I have a terabyte Lacie backup. I ended up buying a new laptop w an M1 chip. read more
