He was great over email communication (he was at a conference) came to my house when he got back, and told me in a few days he would give me an estimate. A week goes by and he emails me to say "you know, I don't have the time for this, and I know you have other people bidding, so I'm going to bow out." This was fine enough. Now, in September, we have a substantial home repair that I am taking bids for (dishwasher issue with water damage in the kitchen) I have spent 5 weeks trying to track this guy down. He calls and says he's coming, then leaves a message saying he can't be bothered to sit in traffic and he'll sync up with me the next week-- week goes by, no call, so I call him, hear nothing... so I call his assistant and she has to call him to find out "he's booked straight for another 2 weeks and they'll keep my number." Umm... What? I've been really nice throughout all of these communications, flakey no-calls and lazy "it's just too much effort to drive 10 miles from my office" moments. But enough is enough. You don't deserve a perfect Yelp score, dude.

Both Mark and his staff are excellent with communications. We had to reschedule our initial appointment, but he called and let me know so we could reschedule. Things come up - that happens to everyone. It's how a contractor handles the issue, that shows excellent customer service and that he values his customers. Not only that, but while Mark was replacing my window pane he noticed an issue the other contractor's crew had not addressed...and fixed it for me at no extra cost! More than a week went by with no update, and they eventually stopped responding altogether. After repeatedly trying to reach them, I finally got hold of the owner, only to be told that they couldn't do the job and that he had already communicated this to his staff. Apparently, no one thought it was necessary to communicate that to me. The entire process was a complete waste of time. Poor communication, constant rescheduling, and zero professionalism. Alan did a consultation and outlined the options for my new patio door, and then Cynthia sent estimates for both options. Once I chose an option and the custom door arrived from Milgard, we scheduled the work. The crew completed the work in a day. Alan removed the old door and installed the new one. Ken brought materials in and did some prep, finish, and cleanup work. Alan explained the challenges of getting the door and seals properly seated because the building itself is out of level due to construction quality and age. Despite these challenges, he worked it all out via a few well-placed shims and the door's built-in adjustment screws. He even returned a few weeks later at my request to make several more minor adjustments. Also, the company asked Milgard to come out and replace a section of weatherstripping that I assume was damaged during shipping or transport. Throughout, the crew was cheerful, friendly, and very detail oriented. Able is a delight to work with. I recommend them, and I'll certainly go to them again if I need window or door work done.

I first went through mediation with the Better Business Bureau of San Mateo and Business License Of California to recover my funds. What Kouros, failed to mentioned. He was caught in a lie in his own words. In his statement to the Better Business Bureau of San Mateo. Kouros, stated he had called the police on me, cause he felt threatened. What Kouros, didn't know. Is San Mateo police department kept logs on all incoming calls. I presented to the Better Business Bureau and License Of Sacramento, documentation from Police department, he didn't call. When I was at his place of business.
