1 Star Review Discharged Without Cause - Beware If…read moreCourt-Mandated I was court-mandated to Fred Brown Recovery and followed every requirement. Despite my full compliance--including attending extra parenting and anger management classes on my own--I was blindsided and discharged with no due process on July 2, 2025. That morning, I was called into an emergency meeting while I was at work and told I was losing my housing and needed to appear in court. The reason? "Not getting along with roommates." This was completely false--I have video evidence and written statements from all of my roommates confirming we got along fine. Even those I previously had an incident with had no ongoing issues with me. It became clear they were waiting for things to "build up" to discharge me. Charlotte pretended to be supportive in meetings but reported negative things to my case manager behind my back without my permission. Le Ann was rude, condescending, and even mocked my job, saying I should work at McDonald's instead of in my chosen field. When I responsibly reached out to staff for help after hours, they used it against me instead of seeing it as a sign of accountability. I was discharged the same day--no warning, no chance to defend myself, and no opportunity to correct anything. I wasn't even allowed back on the property to retrieve my belongings. This discharge put me at risk of going to jail due to my court case. Fred Brown made no attempt to work with me or honor the basic principles of recovery, justice, or trauma-informed care. I write this as a cautionary tale for others--especially anyone court-mandated--considering this program. They are not interested in your success. They are interested in control, optics, and covering themselves. --------/-/////////----------//////----------- They are discharging me without a place to go after they allowed a person to room with me who had just relapsed and she started fighting w me in my sleep. Another roommate threw a towel at me in the middle of the night. They said the common denominator was me even though they let unhinged people in their program. They try to kick people out for all sorts of reasons so your housing is not stable here. Go elsewhere. * oh, and might I add. The girl who was allowed to stay had just relapsed (the usual policy is sober 60-90 days before entering recovery bridge housing) and she has her own place So they kicked me out on the curb - homeless- w out helping me find anything and wouldn't let me come back to get my stuff over something ridiculous - a girl yelling at me in my sleep and me responding "not now"

I also want to put in mental health is a really big part of this rehab. The step have to be hard on the ladies due to our ways of living on the street some of us didn't even know how to live in a home. And trying to help us as much as possible and they have succeeded with me. I want a rule breaker and they gave me a lot of chances because of them they never gave up on me I appreciate them .

I did the ketamine therapy with Steve and his father. They were the most professional, caring people I've ever dealt with. They explained everything about the therapy and made me feel so comfortable. I had been dealing with anxiety, depression, and addiction for almost 35 yrs due to some deep-rooted issues. Steve and the ketamine therapy HELPED me figure out how to help myself. Once the surgery date was set, I was scared, nervous, and anxious. Deep down, I knew I would be okay, but the fear of the unknown was overwhelming. From checking in with security to the admitting department, the customer service was outstanding. Once I arrived on the second floor, the pre-op nurses were absolutely amazing. I wish I could remember all of their names I believe Joanne, Rose, and Stephanie were among them. They were caring, professional, and had a wonderful sense of humor that helped calm my nerves. I was Dr. Feit's first patient of the day. He came in, spoke with me for a few minutes, and immediately put me at ease. Then reality set in, and I started feeling nervous again. When I was rolled into the operating room and saw the team waiting for me, I knew I was in good hands. Dr. Feit is an exceptional podiatric surgeon. He listens, cares about his patients, is understanding, and has a warm smile that makes you feel comfortable. (Okay, Dr. Feit, you're a cutie patootie too!) Let's not forget his staff at the Torrance office. They are incredibly kind, friendly, professional, and welcoming. Dr. Feit has surrounded himself with an outstanding team, and it shows. Los Palos (now "White Point..." leaves much to be desired when it comes to accountability…read more I've resided there since August 2025 (when it was named, "Los Palos... with the goals of improving my breathing and acquired lung issues developed at Catered Manor Post-Acute Skilled Nursing Facility in the Bixby Knolls area of North Long Beach, CA) AND selecting an appropriate orthopedic surgeon to perform my now needed knee replacement surgery which became necessary as a result of inappropriate "physical therapy" while at Catered Manor in Long Beach last year, 2025) On or around late April-May of this year, I personally observed a long-time resident of White Point with numerous contusions on her face and head which made me wonder why she appeared as though someone had beaten her head. I found my impressions shocking, especially since her sister had been providing excellent family attention to this patient's/resident's personal needs. (It should be noted that much of my younger years were spent in university-based hospital and clinics Administration (8 months; 1976 to 1984), so I can grasp terminology and procedures in facilities of these types.) Several days later, I was told nonchalantly by another staff (Certified Nurse Assistant, CNA, that this resident had died! I was shocked at how this CNA was not disturbed by any of the facts. I sincerely hope that her family also legally pursued WHY the resident died. I've been kept out of of White Point and shuffled through a horrifically oftentimes incompetent system of convalescent homes and small, community-based, (after a one- day stay at Providence Little Company of Mary Medical Center in San Pedro) stay, May 15-16 for serious edema and labored breathing issues) hospitals since May 17, 2025. I now just want to get my personal possessions OUT of White Point with a strong desire never to return again. My rating of this facility now, on June 4, 2025, is two- to three stars, and no more.
