The fact that it is more like a prison for rich kids says something, but I was still able to find my way. My main issue is what happened after I left. I needed proof that I was staying there and getting treatment for my addiction, which they would not supply. This caused my college to fail me in classes and dropped my GPA to a level I will never recover from. Additionally, they released a newsletter that printed my sobriety date falsely. They said I relapsed on print. This is inexcusable to do to someone early in sobriety. It's hard enough staying sober without your old rehab messing with you. They committed libel, and I probably should have sued. Had my family seen that newsletter, they would not have spoken to me for years. I guess I got lucky that no one read it. I am still sober (over 15 years!) despite their efforts or lack thereof. Needless to say, they did not help with my long-term sobriety. They were detrimental to it. Probably in their best interest for people to relapse, then they can bill you again and take you back. I stayed sober by avoiding this place like the plague once I got out. Lastly, what Cade said in an early review was true about one of their employees sleeping with one of the female residents. Generally, the women who stay there have it a little easier and get away with more. I guess that is why a lot of these 5-star reviews are by woman.

The patients brothers flew out to get their sister back home so they could manage her care closer to them. We needed to transfer the patient from Los Angeles all the way to Falmouth Massachusetts by plane and this was no easy task for the condition the patient was in, but they helped make it happen and for that we are truly grateful. Anytime you have loved one in any facility you have to commit to doing your part. This was a trying time and The Administration team was there to make the difficult transfer happen. The family member is now at another facility near her brothers in her home State Massachusetts safe and sound. I brought so many hangers for her little closet and they keep getting stolen. They lost my mothers eyes glasses for a week and finally they turned up since i went down there and raised hell. Now her cell phone is currently missing and a CNA named Brianna gave her a shower and let her listen to music from her phone. But failed to give it back to her. If it doesnt show up soon im going to assume she stole it. This place is not great and they have very poor communication with family members. I leave messages and nobody ever returns my calls. One of their agents were supposed to be looking into other facilities that would care for my mom to transfer to and that person never called me back and i cant get ahold of them. DO NOT choose this place for your loved ones. Its more of a headache than anything and personal belongings get stolen. My mother has also had a rash for over 2 months now in their care and they aren't doing anything about it. Just RECENTLY my mother said they were finally getting her to a dermatologist soon. Not sure what it is but i dont even hug her when i visit. The owners have changed over to "Catalina Care Center" now. They are barely switching the business name over. I need to find a way to file a complaint with the owners.

Liz from First Step Counseling really assisted me in navigating these health insurance challenges and she was even willing to work out a payment plan that suited my needs (in the event that my new insurance was going to be too difficult to deal with). Liz also found a way to squeeze me into the schedule, despite all of the therapists being booked and at capacity. Liz went above and beyond to help me during a time when I really need it. First Step Counseling actually cares about the lives they are changing which is so rare in today's world where most companies just want your money. Kudos to this entire office for the great work they do.

I've been tired all my life since 4th grade and it turns out I have had undiagnosed sleep apnea for a very long time without proper medical equipment to help me get a full night's rest. Fortunately it was the nice handful of counselors that I knew wanted me to make it. Unfortunately I dismissed and took for granted their persistent helping hand. I truly commend and honor Ms. Antonia, Orlando, Trey, Brittany, Patty, and Leah. They are the only reasons why I'm giving 4 stats instead of 2. It is so true what they say - Through failure , even a couple dozen failures plus a willing mind comes success. I fumbled so badly here, left AWOL twice and never came back. I tried to come back but I was not wanted or welcomed. That's fine. I learned from those two experiences nonetheless. On a side note, the guys are so bleeding horny, they can come off as rapey off site, away from the facility. Also, the females clients love frivolous drama and no wonder they go out and relapse almost as pitiful as I did relapse. If they focused more on themselves than others, specifically other females, they could discover themselves and only themselves. Not use useless facts or false allegations as a distraction to not fulfill their need for self improvement and face their flaws. It's hard but doable.

Los Palos (now "White Point..." leaves much to be desired when it comes to accountability…read more I've resided there since August 2025 (when it was named, "Los Palos... with the goals of improving my breathing and acquired lung issues developed at Catered Manor Post-Acute Skilled Nursing Facility in the Bixby Knolls area of North Long Beach, CA) AND selecting an appropriate orthopedic surgeon to perform my now needed knee replacement surgery which became necessary as a result of inappropriate "physical therapy" while at Catered Manor in Long Beach last year, 2025) On or around late April-May of this year, I personally observed a long-time resident of White Point with numerous contusions on her face and head which made me wonder why she appeared as though someone had beaten her head. I found my impressions shocking, especially since her sister had been providing excellent family attention to this patient's/resident's personal needs. (It should be noted that much of my younger years were spent in university-based hospital and clinics Administration (8 months; 1976 to 1984), so I can grasp terminology and procedures in facilities of these types.) Several days later, I was told nonchalantly by another staff (Certified Nurse Assistant, CNA, that this resident had died! I was shocked at how this CNA was not disturbed by any of the facts. I sincerely hope that her family also legally pursued WHY the resident died. I've been kept out of of White Point and shuffled through a horrifically oftentimes incompetent system of convalescent homes and small, community-based, (after a one- day stay at Providence Little Company of Mary Medical Center in San Pedro) stay, May 15-16 for serious edema and labored breathing issues) hospitals since May 17, 2025. I now just want to get my personal possessions OUT of White Point with a strong desire never to return again. My rating of this facility now, on June 4, 2025, is two- to three stars, and no more.

She saved my brother's life and our family/friends' lives in turn! (We wouldn't know what to do without my brother) While my friend and I were trying to help find a place for my brother, Debbie was trying to help even though we didn't think he had the correct insurance for Transformations Care. Debbie helped my friend for countless hours and eventually they were able to figure out insurance to get my brother to Transformations. The fact that she was helping my friend even though we didn't think we could get my brother to Transformations, truly shows that this place has the best of intentions. Debbie wants to help people in need get to the road to recovery! She made the road to recovery so much easier than it could have been. She made my brother feel welcome, normal, and loved. Debbie reassured me and my family consistently by sending us photos of her and my brother. Recovery is hard - Debbie made it easier for him and I am forever grateful. I was referred to TCI and knew I needed to go, but didn't want to go. That all changed once I got there. TCI changed my life and forced me to look in a mirror and get comfortable with being uncomfortable and face the parts of me that have been anchoring me from true freedom and inner peace. The program they run is rigourous and caused some serious brain pain, but I was able to break through parts of me that have I've been hiding for most of my life. Each person has their own style of doing things and contributed different things that I needed to receive while I was there, and to me, it was the perfect staff. From crying, to laughing, to being vulnerable and feeling comfortable enough to dig deep and share things with perfect strangers that I've never shared with anyone else; I've never felt more safe, heard, and just allowed to be myself without judgement. Instead I was met with compassion, understanding, and comfort. I don't trust people easily, and I trust every person at TCI with my life, because they not only changed my life, they saved my life. If I name one person in this review, I'm going to have to name all of them (that's a long list), but I was able to go home with the tools I know will help me manage my recovery on a daily basis, and because of that, my fears have lost power over me. I'm eternally grateful to each and every staff member at TCI. Thank you for your kindness, love and care (and for the brain pain experienced from being forced to be honest with myself). I am eternally grateful. This is the place to go if you want to experience true freedom from self. When I feel some sort of way, all I have to do is remember the advice and suggestions and feedback I received during my time at TCI, and I know there's hope that I will be ok. My husband had excellent care from William Y. who remained our caregiver for the duration of my husband's illness after returning from the hospital. (Nine months). His constant vigilance and quality of care continued throughout the months, giving me the confidence to resume my work activities. Indeed, William became like a member of the family to us. You will find no better caregiver IMHO.We had several different night caregivers at the onset, but found three helpers per week who understood our protocols and genuinely cared for my husband. The communication and follow up makes the agency a special one and I recommend anyone in need of at home help consider calling A Peaceful Way Home.
