This place offers great value if you are looking for a filling and delicious Mediterranean meal. I stopped when I was starving and got the mixed grill plate which really hit the spot. The kebab was flavorful, chicken was juicy and the hummus was good too. Service was fast after taking my order I didn't wait too long to get the food. Inside is nice it was a quiet lunch period but I'm sure it can get lively during peak hours. Definitely worth a visit!

Been hearing a lot of great things about Cobani so suggested the spot for a weeknight dinner - group of three. Let me lead with...OMG THE RICE. Order the rice, get the rice, and eat the rice. Often times if I'm trying to be carb conscious of skip over the rice, but we ate all the rice that came with our meal. We kept saying, " this rice is so good". It was a bit nostalgic, kind of like my grandma and mom's rice. A rich rice full of flavor. We ordered one appetizer sampler plate, one chicken kebab plate, one steak kebab plate, a side of fries, and knufa. Between three of us, it came out to about $30 per person. Ever so slightly on the pricey side, but larger quantity and very filling. Fries: 5/5 none left at the end Sampler: 3.5 babaganoush was excellent, everything else was ok, falafel was very sesame seed forward. Meat plates: 4/5 tasty, really appreciate how they took them off the skewer for serving, good, but nothing extraordinary Knufa: I'm a hard critic here because my family makes in my opinion the best :-) didn't really love this one. Cheese was not stretchy, was rubbery. Tasted very much like a wheatie (the cereal). Service was five out of five. Even 10 out of five! They were very friendly.

Stopped by recently for lunch while running errands in San Mateo. So many great places to try on 25th Avenue. We ordered the wrap sandwiches. The chicken gyro & lamb/beef gyro. The sandwiches seed a little pricey however once we tasted them & the the high quality of the meat flavors & veggie ingredients --especially the fresh veggies & salad on side ---showed us why we'll be here again soon! Very cute place with lots of indoor & some outdoor seating. Can't wait to come back to try the lemon soup & other dishes we saw during our visit!

I recently went to Cobani for lunch with some friends. We had high expectations due to the ratings, but unfortunately they were not met. The food was very average for the prices we paid, and we'd recommend going elsewhere for Mediterranean food. The other aspects of Cobani are fine. The decor is cozy & well-done. The service was friendly enough and the food took the expected amount of time to get ready. But now we get to the food itself, and this is where it mostly went wrong: - The hummus was not good enough to be worth nearly $10. - The Lamb & Beef Gyros Wrap was a sufficient portion for the price, but the meat was not seasoned well enough. The other wrap fillings were average. - The other kebab plates were similarly mediocre, and they are less worthwhile given the quantity of food. The only well-received dishes (in terms of taste) were the beyti and lamb shank. But I'd expect better from the "bread & butter" of any Mediterranean restaurant. Overall, maybe it was a bad day for Cobani, but I don't see much reason to return. Even on the Peninsula, there are more trustworthy & reliable spots for gyros & kebabs.

Cross the water lounge spa place, great quality fast Mediterranean food here. Inside it makes you feel homey. The paints on the wall, the fake flower decorations around. It is neat and clean. Walk in and order food, then you can seat yourself anywhere you prefer. It does not have fancy service, but convenient enough to serve yourself. The food tastes fresh and great seasoning, also the French fries are very well made, kids have it thumbs up. Recommended for fast stop Mediterranean food if you don't care about too much service.

Cobani has been on my list of Mediterranean places to try since it's so close to me and I've heard many good things so when my dad said he was craving lamb kebab I knew this was the perfect chance to check it out. My go-to is always a salad with added protein and the chicken gyro was calling to me. Portion was generous and just the right amount of filling where I wasn't stuffed but I also wasn't feeling skimped. Chicken was a tad dry but I personally like when I get little charred edges so it wasn't a major issue. I ended up stealing hummus off my dad's lamb shish kebab plate to act as a dressing and it all tasted yummy! His lamb was also just a bit dry but still tender and had nice flavor from the grill. We especially liked that the rice was flavored, it tasted reminiscent of hainan chicken rice. Overall the taste of everything was on point and the staff were super friendly. On a Thursday evening there were plenty of tables open and it wasn't too loud or too quiet for a nice dinner while chatting. I'd come back to try some other menu items -- there were a few appetizer options that sounded intriguing.

We tried this food again to go; and ordered various kebabs chicken, beef, gyro, and sadly they were all oily; especially the gyros. The beef kebabs were spicy, but the chicken lacked flavor, which was a bummer. Their hummus tasted good, which was a plus.

Came here on a Friday night and it wasn't too busy. You order at the counter, get seated with a number and they'll bring the food to you. Water is self-served at the front. The place is welcoming and the staff are nice! We ordered: - combo gyro plate: The combo plate came with chicken, lamb and beef, salad, rice, hummus and yogurt dip. The chicken was flavorful and not dry at all while the beef and lamb were so flavorful. The salad was fresh and rice moist. The hummus was a great addition too! - lamb and beef gyro salad: comes with salad, lamb and beef with salad dressing and yogurt dip. Portions are huge, so filling and worth the price point. The ingredients were all so fresh and the yogurt dip was delicious. The side of pita bread was so soft and fresh. Def recommend this place and will be back!

Food was so gooood! Rice was seasoned and was such a pleasant surprise. Good portions and served on cute wood boards with great presentation. The salad was well flavored and hummus and pita bread with the plate was delicious. They also had a Turkish beer we usually do not see in the U.S. and were so happy to have found! Bomonti Service was so friendly and patient with all my questions haha! What a great find! Highly recommend!!

I just love coming to this place almost every Sunday. The garlic fries are on point and the food is always fresh and delicious. I will definitely come back again. Only thing is the parking. It's a little tough to find as there is no parking lot in the area.

A total hidden gem of a place for mediterranean food. Simple, good tasting food. It's a fast, casual place--no table service. Order and pick up at the counter. I had the lamb/beef gyro platter and a side of falafel. The falafel was delicious & moist. The pita bread was soft & warm--I couldn't get enough. This was my first time visiting and I was not disappointed. I will definitely be returning.

Mixed Combo Gyros Wrap looked better than it tastef

One of my favorites, but today was a miss. I ordered wrong and came at the wrong time if day. My go to is sharing the mixed grill, which gives you flavorful fresh bites of most of the proteins served with their superior hummus, rice, a salad, served on a wooden cutting board. Today I had a craving for french fries and on Yelp, their fries looked amazing. I love thicker cut, greek french fries: i thought their combo wrap and fries would be as good as the platters that I usually order. It was 4:30 pm- before dinner rush and what I was not expecting was dried leftover bits of chicken and beef and lamb. Today the fries were perfectly fresh and hot, but terribly over salted, The salad was wilted and overdressed . They no longer offer the amazing Turkish tea. Service was fine and even at the odd hour, this place can be busy. Stick to the platters, Come at lunch or dinner time and ask for your fries to be salted sparingly and you cannot go wrong. Sorry Cobani, this was a two star meal, but rounding up because I have lots of four and a couple of five star experiences.

The place is quite pretty. We opted for a small table outside , which is much quieter. Our waiter was a bit stiff around the collar. I suspect he is an old timer, and clearly, we are not regulars. Regardless, the food is great, and the prices are reasonable. The Food: Zucchini Cake, $15 - 4.5 Stars Menu: crispy zucchini cakes with cucumber & mint-yogurt dressing These cakes are ball shaped, deep fried, and made a healthy veggie taste naughty type of good. Very yummy. Lol Tzatziki, $9 - 5 Stars Refreshing and delicious, the tzatziki is an excellent complement to the meal. Octopus, $19 - 5 Stars I really need to stop eating octopus, but when I am in a Greek or Spanish restaurant, I am weak. Grilled octopus legs are soooo good. Their version is grilled just right, not too much char, plus they smartly removed the hardened tips (common) before serving. See photo. Entrees did take a little while longer to be served but I don't blame the workers for the crowd. Service was attentive (server, food runners, & bussers). My drink: Post & Beam Cabernet Sauvignon red wine - rich, full bodied, mildly sweet with a smooth, long finish. Complimented my entree very well (lamb shank). No clash in taste going from eating to drinking. Appetizers: Calamari: Not a huge fan of calamari personally but it was okay. Crispy and chewy squid inside as expected. Greek fries: Typical fries. Crispy and garnished with 2 sauces. One has a mild spice. Nothing super special but it was good as a choice of "sides" from the menu that turned into an appetizer. Had some leftover for my entree that paired well with it actually. Zucchini cakes: crispy shell on the outside but a mushy, hashbrown-like inside of a flavorful mix of vegetables. Really enjoyed this one. Would recommend it. Entrees: Mine: Lamb Shank: soft, tender, the meat melts right off the bone. The sauce is amazing. Tasteful down to the garnish. There was one end that was super fatty and slimy and then different side of the same end that was really chewy like bubblegum but other than that, still my favorite dish from everyone else's. Glad I chose this. Fisherman's Pasta : the presentation is immaculate, very proportional ratio of seafood to the pasta. l like the variety but honestly, this dish is bland. Good thing I got the lamb shank! Arnisia Paidakia (Lamb Chops): Didn't eat but the person who ate it said it tastes good but kind of dry. What he enjoyed about it was that the rice was made of wheat & savory as well. Lobster Risotto - wasn't my personal order but I got to try a bite. Had some flavor and and enough meat from the tail to eat with the savory rice. Free birthday Baklava desert: Never had it before but I got a bite and liked it.
